Onovo3:The lead promoter of the Escravos Seaport Industrial Complex project in Delta State, Mercury Maritime Concession Company, has said that Nigeria may lose $27.29bn investment in the project by the end of June. The Chairman of MMCC, Rear Admiral Andrew Okoja (rtd), disclosed, in a statement on Tuesday, that this was due to the prolonged delay by both the Federal and Delta State Governments to give final approval for the project’s take-off. Okoja added that investors were ready to commit funds for the commencement of the project. Recall that EDIB International of Hong Kong had early this year expressed its willingness to invest $27.29bn to develop the ESIC project, whose deep seaport would be located in Escravos (Gbaramatu Island/Omadino) Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State. |
Hanndye:Remind Fasehun sounds entitled here. I read the speech of the current President of Nigeria and he mentioned some prominent names, BUT he also emphasized that there were others that he couldn't mention. There were lawyers, Journalists, Uni students, technocrats, politicians and more that fought for democracy during the June 12, 1993 struggles which I witnessed in those heady years of repressive military dictatorships. NOT everyone could have been mentioned in that speech. I was pleasantly surprised that Olisa Agbakoba was mentioned in that speech because his contributions in the aftermath of the June 12 1993 elections cancelation and to the democratic struggles just like Dr. Frederick Fasehun's were very significant. I think a huge difference commemorative marble stone with the names of all the pro-democracy folks who were gunned down on the streets by the Nigerian military juntas from the early 1990s and the other more prominent ones should be made to remind others of their sacrifices towards the 25 years of uninterrupted democracy that the folks in Nigeria are passing through. |

justnaijagist12:This girl's names seem like she's of Igala descent... Sarah Idaji Ojone. Grew up in Ajegunle, Lagos. |
TopNotchTrends:My first time of ever listening to this girl. She's just all noise... NO substance. |
Gbadugbakun:If you told him (without being condescending OR cocky) the specific reason why you don't like drinking already opened bottles or cans of beer, shandy, or malt before leaving the bar, then that should be sufficient enough. If your friend doesn't get it, then that's his problem. Aside from my close family members, I wouldn't allow anyone to open a drink for me WITHOUT me being present. It is what it is. Period. |
Islie:That is a strategically brilliant business move. The ability to rapidly move into new markets like the Bahamas Islands and the larger Caribbean with lower prices of fuel is key here in order to earn huge returns on investments. Guyana also recently discovered more oil and gas reserves in addition to what Trinidad and Tobago has, therefore the Caribbean is up for some great time in terms of refined oil production. |
Skyehigher1:@Skyehigher1, Hopefully if Dangote Petrochemical Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki starts producing PMS from the middle of next month of July 2024, you folks will be able to have cheaper cost of transportation for food stuffs and lower the cost of production. The high fuel cost is the major problem here. Also, more AutoCNG refill stations that will sell CNG gas at N230/standard cubic feet have been built and commissioned in Lagos as of 2024 and this would further massively crash the price of foods because transportation is a major factor that is responsible for high cost of goods and services aside from the artificial inflation that is taking place in urban areas like Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, etc. Read more below: =>https://leadership.ng/nipcogas-crashes-cng-price-to-n200-scm-unveils-stations-in-lagos/ The rumors making the rounds that the FG might be planning to open the borders and import foods for 6 months has been explained here in the link below: =>https://www.channelstv.com/2024/06/06/document-on-suspension-of-import-duties-on-food-drugs-not-official-presidency/ Before the end of 2024, I am sure from the indices that things will stabilize economically for all Nigerians. The only thing is that if the minimum wage is too high based on the NLC demands, many of the private employers who were also at the NLC meetings with the government said they will NOT be able to pay and will have to sack MANY of their workers. The best thing would be to have cheaper PMS and CNG for transportation so as to push down the very high cost of food items and other essentials. Happy Sallah (Eid Kabir) in advance to you. |

MemoriesAndMe:Indeed, thanks for the feedback here. I'll do more Googling right away to get a hang of this "lobster allergy" and "shellfish allergy" situation. Enjoy the rest of your day. |
WizardOfNG:This is truly magnificent... Changing the landscape of entertainment. "Makarios" is a Greek name for those who remember the Greek-Cyprus leader Archbishop Makarios. Kudos to Pastor Ashimolowo for setting up that Makarios Aquatic Park in Ibeju, Lagos State and other rice/agribusiness investments in his home state of Ogun. That's what I want to see folks like that do instead of converting factories in some existing Industrial Estates to emergency churches. They need to set up Industries and put competent folks and professionals to manage them and give profitable returns. |
MemoriesAndMe:This situation is novel to me. NEVER heard of reactions like this to lobsters and other kinds of seafoods. I strongly think it's a mind-induced thing being that it was your first time of eating lobsters. You probably subconsciously thoughts of the lobsters looking creepy and then your brain triggered your body's histamine levels to kick in and triggered the swollen face. It's good to know that your significant other was there to assist you to get relief from that body reaction within a short space of time. |
ezegenigbonine:Gosh! Those allergic reaction images are quite horrendous. |
Mbanda:Below is another link of another ritual killing of a 72-year-old woman in 2023 in Anambra State. =>https://tribuneonlineng.com/women-protest-rape-ritual-killing-of-72-year-old-woman-in-anambra-community/ First off, I don't want to be dragged into a back and forth over trivial issues that are beneath me because I don't have the time left. My take is on solutions to problems. With reference to drug trafficking abroad and production of Methamphetamine in Nigeria. Data from the NDLEA CLEARLY indicates that over 95 percent of those arrested annually at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos are Ibos. Not just Ibos, but from various villages in Anambra State. This arrest and seizure data even largely exonerates Ibos from other states of Nigeria of deep involvement in illicit hard drugs trafficking. The Yorubas and others such as Edos and more constitute the remaining percentage of about 5 percent of those caught for drug trafficking to foreign countries by the NDLEAs use of BODY SCANNERS and SNIFER DOGS. Second, many arrests have been made over the last 24 years of so-called criminal-minded young Alaba International millionaire traders MAJORLY from Anambra again who have been illegally making the HIGHLY TOXIC, cancer-cauding methamphetamine or what you call "mkpurunmiri" in hidden laboratories in residential areas and housing estates in various parts of Lagos State, Asaba, Anambra (Ozubulu, Nnewi, Obosi, Owerri). I have access to the NDLEA reports on these arrests over the years showing the arrests of these criminal barons producing methamphetamine in Ajao Estate in Isolo, Victoria Garden City, Iba New Site, Satellite Town, Ibeju-Lekki with all these drug barons being from Anambra State. Many of those fake millionaire traders have been arrested for hard drugs production inside their houses and they also brought in Mexican drug cartels to set up methamphetamine laboratories right in various areas in Lagos State and Anambra State (in Nnewi, Obosi, Asaba, Ihiala and Ozubulu). Arrests were made by NDLEA and security agencies in Victoria Garden City, Ajah, in Lagos in 2023 of two Anambra guys who were making the highly cancerous methamphetamine or mkpurunmiri right inside their mansions, for distribution within Lagos State, Anambra, Delta, and for export abroad by drug traffickers. The Federal Government has already seized the two mansions in VGC from those two criminals and you can read more about those people in online newspapers. The NDLEA even reported in the media that because some of these Anambra hard drug barons and drug pushers were being arrested frequently at the Airports while trying to fly out, they had NOW devices a means of selling the hard drugs to students studying in Eastern Nigeria higher institutions such as those in Owere in Imo State! Lastly too, data from the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) which collates information on Nigerian prisoners serving jail time for crimes committed in countries abroad ALSO had a higher percentage of Ibo people who had been arrested and are in jail for drug trafficking including their names and states of origin are listed. I have had access to this information as well showing that in Ethiopia, Brazilthe Far-East Asia like Vietnam, Cambodia, or China jails, many Ibo drug pushers or traffickers are in jail in especially countries with death penalty. Again, the Yorubas come second and Edo names come third and they constitute less than 10 percent of drug pushers. The Ibos again had up to 90 percent of the names of those in jail for drug trafficking. There is a solution from this useful data. Since we know the major state that produces these drug barons pretending to be genuine traders at a place like Alaba International or in the East for instance, the communities and youths can be targeted to STOP the worship of money. The age groups too are putting pressure on an average Ibo youth in Anambra to make money and become a millionaire before the age of 30 years. This is the reason why the youths desperate go into armed robbery or drug trafficking because the immediate society in Anambra puts pressure at the community level to quickly make money. We have to name and shame people who are drug pushers and have the drug barons executed like it is done in advanced countries like Saudi Arabia, China and Singapore. I hardly saw Ebonyi State indigenes on that NIA list and NDLEA never arrested a lot of Ebonyi indigenes. A few Imo, Enugu, Abia guys are in jails abroad for drug trafficking but the majority are from Anambra State constituting up to 90 percent (and even 100 percent in some jails) of names on the NIA list. The Yorubas, Edos majorly take up the remaining percentage of between 10 percent to 5 percent of those in jail for drug trafficking in each country. |
Funshowilliams:Don't bring ethnic accusations into this. First off...Go back to my first post on this thread page and you will see where I angrily posted that culprits should be punished and sentenced to death by hanging, with electric chairs, or with lethal injection. It is disingenuous of you to FALSELY accuse me and YOU are CLEARLY trying to divert attention from the fact that the Ibos here on this thread are irresponsibly accusing only Yoruba folks of this crazy thing but we have citing MASSIVE evidence of these things going on in the South Eastern areas of Iboland as well for years. It is highly irresponsible for anyone to single out the Western part of Nigeria while ritual killings are currently taking place in the East. "Below is another case of ritual killings in Anambra State" that shows this is a national issue. =>https://tribuneonlineng.com/women-protest-rape-ritual-killing-of-72-year-old-woman-in-anambra-community/ That's my point here... To point out the irresponsible hypocricy of a lot of young Ibo posters here who are raining insults on folks from the West while ignoring the well reported ritual killings and cannibalism in Iboland and other places. A solution of capital punishments is the key to solving this problem and I have been saying this for more than 25 years now. |
Mbanda:You are being HIGHLY dishonest here. What do you mean by shifting the goal post after you have been cornered with evidence? I've already provided 4 screenshots as evidence here of instances of ritual killings and cannibalism in the Ibo areas of the East for all to see so you should not be gloating about anything here. A national emergency has to be embarked upon to invoke the death penalty or capital punishments on anyone found getting involved in ritual murders or cannibalism or eating human beings for food! Period. I attached a relatively recent picture of two people from Anambra holding a fresh human head in my last post and you are talking of Otokoto being an old story to try to deflect the current ritual killings going in Iboland. Below are past and recent 2022 newspaper links and on ritual killings in Isiala-Ngwa and Ihiala in Abia and Anambra states, and 2023 ritual killings in Anambra State, and a 2013 case of ritual killings in Enugu Ezike in Enugu State. There are many Weblinks (more than 40 recent ones) that I have of these ritual killings from all the 5 states in the South East and even in the North for years now =>https://saharareporters.com/2022/02/11/exclusive-community-residents-south-east-nigeria-others-desert-homes-over-rise-ritual =>https://punchng.com/anambra-council-boss-monarch-lament-ritual-killings-want-bloody-deity-destroyed/ 17 Jan 2022 — Anambra council boss, monarch lament ritual killings, want 'bloody deity' destroyed =>https://tribuneonlineng.com/women-protest-rape-ritual-killing-of-72-year-old-woman-in-anambra-community/ Women protest rape, ritual killing of 72-year-old woman in Anambra community. by Sandra Nwaokolo · March 14, 2023. =>https://dailypost.ng/2023/11/09/house-boy-cuts-off-aged-masters-manhood-for-money-ritual-in-anambra/ =>https://allafrica.com/stories/201312110481.html Nigeria: Enugu Women Protest Ritual Killings 11 Dec 2013 — Worried by the incessant ritual killings, especially of women in Enugu-Ezike in Igboeze-North Local Government Area of Enugu State... =>https://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/04/ritual-killers-prowl-enugu/ April 4, 2014 - Ritual killers on the prowl in Enugu The aim of posting these links showing the many past and RECENT ritual killings in some of the 5 states of Iboland is to debunk the baseless insults and falsehoods (that only the West has cases of rituals all Yoruba folks here) by majorly uninformed and dishonest young Ibos on this thread. NOBODY should be demonized here because the vast number of folks of all ethnicities are good people. The death penalty must be applied in all cases where these criminal activities occur. Period.

Mbanda:Let me remind you in case you are a young person here. Otokoto Hotel ritual killing took place in Owerri in the 1990s and ritual killings had been going on in Owerri until the folks got tired of having missing people. Second, places such as Enugu-Ezike and other parts of Iboland in the South East have been widely reported in the newspapers to have cases of missing women and dismembered bodies. There are more instances of these crazy ritual killings and eating of human flesh for food (cannibalism) that have taken place in all the 5 South Eastern states and other states in the North and South. I'm calling you and others out for engaging in self-righteousness here and trying to gaslight the folks from the West by acting like it happens only in the West despite the fact that many cases have taken place in your ancestral areas in the East and indeed all over Nigerian states. I have massive data and statistics on this that will shock you all but I don't want to reveal more here for now being an international public space. What all you folks in Nigeria should be talking about is to condemn this and call for death penalty via lethal injections, hangings, or electric chair shocks to serve as a deterant to all these greedy, brainwashed people trying to make fast money or for protection by getting heads from the cemeteries or elsewhere. Attached are a highlighted map of areas in Southern Nigeria practicing cannibalism even after 1900 and images below that tell a larger story of current ritual killings and historical cannibalism in the Eastern Ibo areas East of Onitsha as told in Reverend George Thomas Basden's book, "Among the Ibos of Nigeria." George Basden lived for 35 years among the Onitsha people.

God1000:Female soldiers (with emphasis on American military women) have been involved in several combat operations since the first Gulf War to liberate Kuwait from Saddam Hussein's invasion in 1990. As of that time in 1990, I saw some of the female combatants on CNN and as we gravitated from 1994 towards the 2000s, more women took part in combat operations in addition to being in the medical-combat fields of the elite U.S. military branches. Indeed, the Nigeria Air force has female combat pilots blasting the living daylights out of criminal insurgents while flying several sorties. Flying Officer Kafayat Omolara Sanni happens to be the first female combat jet fighter pilot in the Nigerian Air Force. |

illicit:That's NOT Teni Apata's father. Teni's Ekiti State-born father and former veteran of the Nigerian Civil War, Brigadier-General Simeon Olaosebikan Apata wasn't in the army at the time ECOMOG was in full effects back in the early 1990s. Teni's father had retired in the late 1970s and was already a multimillionaire as of the 1980s with a chain of mansions and a group of schools called Apata Memorial High School founded in 1980 in the Ire Akari Estate area of Isolo, Lagos State. He died on January 8, 1995 from injuries sustained from his gun duel with robbers in his area. I remember that those of us who knew him when he passed on in Lagos were in shock that day. Hope that helps. |
spagettiluv:So, Col. (later Major-General Apata) of the ECOMOG Taskforce has passed on... Respects to the fallen soldiers. |
spagettiluv:That's an impressive thread. The Ecomog operations in Liberia and Sierra Leone came at a huge cost to Nigeria in terms of men and resources. I remember that period from the very early 1990s to be a defining point in Nigerian history. A time when the Gulf War oil windfall was diverted into Ecomog operations and partly embezzled by the military dictatorship and their cronies who became stupendously rich multimillionaires overnight. |
