fergie.001: The Joint Committee of the Senate and House of Representatives on Constitution Review has unanimously approved the creation of an additional state in the South-East geo-political zone.
When created, the South-East will be at par with the South-South, South-West, North-Central and North-East zones with six states.
The South-East is the only geo-political zone with five states comprising Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.
The North-West comprises seven states made up of Kaduna, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto and Jigawa states.
The resolution of the committee was reached during a two-day retreat in Lagos on Saturday, where it reviewed 55 proposals for state creation across the country.
The session, chaired by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin, and co-chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, deliberated on the subject matter and resolved that in the spirit of fairness and equity, the Federal Government should create another state for the region.
Kalu, who joined other lawmakers to champion additional state creation for the region, argued that a new state would give the people a sense of belonging.
A statement on Saturday by the media unit of the joint committee quoted members as voting in favour of granting additional states to the South-East.
“Following the deliberations, Senator Abdul Ningi (Bauchi Central) moved a motion for the creation of the new state, which was seconded by Hon Ibrahim Isiaka (Ifo/Ewekoro, Ogun State).
“The motion received the unanimous support of committee members and was adopted,” the statement read in part.
Similarly, the committee also established a sub-committee to consider the creation of additional states and local government areas across all six geo-political zones, noting that a total of 278 proposals were submitted for review.
Speaking at the event, Jibrin urged members to rally support among their colleagues at the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly to ensure the resolutions sail through during voting.
“We need to strengthen what we have started so that all parts of the country will key into this process.
In addition, it's important to ensure that ALL the 12 Yoruba LGAs out of the 16 LGAs in Kwara and the Yoruba LGAs of Kogi State of North Central Nigeria and any other Yoruba communities who have called for it in videos I have seen especially in Ovia South West LGA in Edo State are merged after referendums with the rest of the South West region for relative homogeneity. If it's expedient, a referendum can be done to bring the Itsekiris in too based off of the fact that the parent ethnic group of the Itsekiris are the Yorubas of Ijebu, Ilaje and Ile Ife origins (regardless of Prince Ginuwa (his mother was from Ile Ife and the ONLY queen of Oba Olua who was NOT born in Benin back in the 1400s) and his 70 male followers (children of Benin noble men) who left Benin and migrated to Ode Itsekiri an Ijebu settlement under Chief Lenuwa in 1480).
The same can be done for the Nupes of the 2 Nupe LGAs of Kwara North to be merged with their Nupe cousins in Niger State and/or create a new Nupe State for them and fortunately the current Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State is paternally and maternally a Nupe guy. Likewise, the 2 Bariba LGAs (or Batonu ethnic group) of Kwara North of which the U.S.-based academic Farooq Kperogi is from can choose where they want to join especially Niger State but a larger number of Baribas are indigenous to Benin Republic where they have a larger landmass than Baribaland in Kwara State, Nigeria.
The Tivs in Taraba, Nassarawa, parts of Northern Cross River, etc, can be merged into Benue State and/or create a new Tiv State for them since they have a huge landmass which is BIGGER than even the South East region. Same can be done for several other ethnic groups spread across different regions and States to create harmony.
These boundary adjustments bringing similar ethnic groups scattered in different multiethnic States together in one single State and this would further reduce the cases of complaints abouth ethnic marginalization by bigger ethnicities.
If this is NOT done now, it will likely NEVER be done by any Federal government again. OBJ was the President for 8 years yet NO attempt was made by OBJ and his team to merged the Yorubas of Kwara and Kogi States with the rest of their kith and kin in the West of Nigeria or create a separate new State for them. If the Tinubu goverment does these boundary adjustments, many will remember him for changing the geopolitical dynamics of Nigeria created by the British Colonialists that encouraged the stagnation of Nigeria for decades before and after 1960 by the minority political and ethnic hegemonists.
PigTormentor: After all your wrote, why was he not indicted if the US government have good evidence of his involvement? Any Nigerian with close association would have been charged. Show us where he was charged. That's all that matters. The rest in NOISE.
Do you know how bad the FBI will indict any Nigeria with anything dealing with drugs or fraud?
In fact just being around people doing crime is also enough for them to charge you along with the rest.
You are clueless bro.
You are grasping on straws...hope you can breath.
You are clueless on how the system works. The FBI and DEA will charge anyone with anything, they are always desperate for conviction. For them not to have charged him says a lot.
Succinctly stated.
Indeed, the current Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu forfeited 460,000 USD back in 1993 NOT for being a drug baron BUT for a backlog of unpaid taxes. This is why out of his 8 United States bank checking accounts totalling 1.8 million USD, ONLY 460,000 USD was deducted for unpaid taxes while the remain $1.3 million was returned to his bank accounts by the U.S. Federal authorities.
You can read more right in the Weblink BELOW about another 2002 official document sent to the Nigeria Police investigators by the then United States Embassy Legal Attache, Michael Bonner CLEARING the now President 'Bola Tinubu of EVER being convicted of any drug crimes in the United States based off of the FBI's National Crime Information Center (NCIC) central database of convicted criminals.
How these hateful people keep recycling this same FAKE news of the forfeiture being for drug trafficking or whatever shows the level of bigotry and hate for that man. Tinubu himself and his oldest surviving son, 'Seyi Tinubu (who just turned 40 years this month and is a UK-trained lawyer are to blame for allowing this massive disinformation being spread rapidly online to persist. They should know BETTER that you don't allow these kinds of highly IRRESPONSIBLE propaganda to persist online and offline as fake news can be used to bring down his government). All those deliberately spreading this disinformation are doing it in order to demarket Tinubu for political and bigoted reasons and these creeps should have been picked up by the DSS and other intelligence agencies in major sting operations and charged to court for heinous defamation. By the time 500 to 1000 of these online defamers (including that Auchi-born Aisha Yesufu who just 3 weeks ago in her YouTube video FALSELY accused Tinubu again as a drug baron who forfeited money) the rest would learn to desist from peddling rumors. There's NO absolute freedom anywhere in the world.
Walklifeman: U.S. President Donald Trump has granted a presidential pardon to Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, widely known as CZ, who previously pleaded guilty to money-laundering-related charges while leading the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.
The White House, in a statement issued Thursday by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, said Trump’s decision was an exercise of his constitutional authority and described Zhao’s prosecution under the Biden administration as part of a “war on cryptocurrency.”
“In their desire to punish the crypto industry, the Biden Administration pursued Mr. Zhao despite no allegations of fraud or identifiable victims,” Leavitt stated.
The pardon comes just two months after The Wall Street Journal reported that the Trump family’s own crypto venture which has generated about $4.5 billion since the 2024 election was supported through a partnership with a trading platform linked to Binance.
Zhao had pleaded guilty in November 2023 to violating the Bank Secrecy Act and stepped down as Binance CEO as part of a $4.3 billion settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice. He was sentenced in April 2024 to four months in prison, though prosecutors had sought a three-year term.
Leavitt noted that the judge in Zhao’s case had described the government’s sentencing request as “unheard of in 30 years,” adding that the Biden administration’s actions “damaged America’s reputation as a leader in technology and innovation.”
This pardon of CZ by the current POTUS has a strong tinge of personal interest in it due to the deep involvement of the Trump fam in crypto investments. You'd have to be as blind as a bat to NOT know this.
Glimpsetv: Good news has finally emerged as Aisha Wahab, the young woman who was kidnapped in Auchi, Edo State, has regained her freedom after spending weeks in her abductors’ den.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded a ₦20 million ransom and even released multiple videos threatening to kill her if the money wasn’t paid. One of the videos, shared by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, showed Aisha in distress, pleading for help from Nigerians as her life hung in the balance.
In a new update, Harrison Gwamnishu confirmed that Aisha has been released. He shared a video of himself with the young lady and her mother celebrating her freedom. However, as of the time of this report, details remain unclear regarding whether the ransom was paid or how exactly her release was secured.
Aisha’s rescue has brought relief to her family and sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians thanking God for her safe return while still calling on authorities to do more to curb the growing wave of kidnappings and insecurity across Edo State and the country at large.
The Auchi axis is getting notorious in the various media platforms this year alone for kidnappings.
Hopefully this isn't part of a staged kidnapping event to extort ransom money from family and friends by rogue family members like we've seen happen several times in the past. Never trust NOBODY.
Great100000: A few years ago, I was in a friend’s home somewhere in the U.S. We had just arrived from Nigeria, exhausted but glad to reconnect. After wrestling with the TV to catch a football game, hunger set in.
That was when we both realised there was no one to cook. No chef, no “mama Precious,” no one to send on an errand.
My friend sighed, “See why I miss Naija.”
He had lived in the U.S. for nearly 20 years, owned a successful business, and had several properties. Yet, despite all that, he couldn’t replicate the everyday luxuries he enjoyed in Nigeria.
“Back home, I have two drivers and a chef, all for less than a million naira monthly,” he said. “Here, I’d pay ten times that, assuming I could even find people to do it.”
That conversation stayed with me because it captured the strange paradox of wealth and comfort across countries.
A Nigerian earning N1.5 million monthly, about $1,000, is considered lower middle class. They can rent a decent flat, hire domestic help, pay school fees, and still enjoy a weekend brunch.
But in the U.S., $1,000 barely covers groceries and gas. It’s roughly $6.50 an hour, far below the federal minimum wage. The same income that makes one comfortable in Lagos barely keeps another afloat in Texas.
This is the odd reality of global living standards. Wages in the West are higher because society is structured to sustain a broad middle class. People earn enough to afford the basics, which makes domestic labour expensive.
That’s why immigration is essential, as someone has to do the low-paying but necessary jobs. In fact, I recently read that the NVIDIA CEO Jenson Huang argued that plumbers and electricians are now the new millionaires, a testament to how valuable skilled manual work has become.
In Nigeria, it’s more likely the opposite. We pay very little for the same jobs that cost a fortune elsewhere. A driver might earn N80,000 a month, a nanny N50,000, and an electrician N20,000 per job. For the middle class, this affordability translates to convenience. But it also exposes a deeper issue: our economy depends on cheap labour to sustain comfort for a few.
It’s why a N1.5 million earner can feel rich here but still live in a system that doesn’t work. Their comfort is self-financed: generators for power, boreholes for water, and private schools for education.
In the U.S., someone earning the same $1,000 would struggle, but their rent, healthcare, and basic infrastructure are predictable. So, while the Nigerian looks richer, the American enjoys a higher quality of life, even if it means surviving on welfare.
This raises a curious question: if labour and services are this cheap, does it mean the naira is undervalued or that productivity is low? In theory, a weak currency and cheap wages should make Nigeria globally competitive.
It should help us export more and attract manufacturing jobs. But that only works if productivity is high. Instead, we use our cheap labour advantage to make domestic life comfortable — not to build export powerhouses.
The government’s recent move to double the minimum wage is welcome, but it barely scratches the surface. Inflation has already devoured much of the gain. Yet, Nigeria still remains one of the few places where services are relatively affordable despite rising costs.
This affordability, if properly channelled, could be a competitive advantage. We could produce more, export more, and create better-paying jobs — instead of relying on cheapness as our economic identity.
My friend eventually moved back to Nigeria. He said he missed “the freedom of comfort.” But he also admitted that every time the generator hummed through the night, or traffic trapped him for hours, he missed America’s quiet order. Maybe that’s the true story of our economy — comfort without structure, wealth without systems, luxury built on imbalance.
So who really lives better — the Nigerian earning N1.5 million or the American earning $1,000? It depends on what you call living. The Nigerian might eat better, rest better, and have more help. But the American lives in a system where those comforts are built into society, not paid for out of pocket.

But the American lives in a system where those comforts are built into society, not paid for out of pocket.
Perhaps the goal shouldn’t be to choose one over the other, but to build a Nigeria where both comfort and structure coexist — where wages reflect productivity, not pity, and where enjoying life doesn’t depend on escaping dysfunction.
attackgat: Human rights lawyer and former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has said that politically sponsored cult groups, not the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, are the main drivers of insecurity in the South-East.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Odinkalu acknowledged that the separatist movement contributes to the insecurity in the region.
However, he described it as “ridiculous” to attribute every violent incident in the region to IPOB.
“Let me tell you this: the biggest single issue, in security terms, confronting the South-East, in my estimation, based on the work I have done on this, is, I regret to disappoint you, not IPOB, it is one word: cults, financed by politicians.
“All right? Now, the cults are the biggest single issue, and you don’t have a clue how terrible the problem of cults in the South-East is at this particular time.”
Odinkalu noted that the menace of cultism in the region has reached alarming levels, adding that political sponsorship has emboldened these groups and intensified insecurity. The ex-NHRC chairman maintained that there might be a connection between cultism and IPOB, but he stated that “cults financed by politicians, that is the biggest single security challenge confronting the South-East at this time.”
IPOB, he argued, cannot be sustained in certain communities in the South-East, which according to him renders the argument that the group is solely responsible for the insecurity in the five states exaggerated.
“Unquestionably, there is an IPOB issue, but the IPOB issue is overblown,” he said.
Odinkalu’s remarks come amid renewed attacks on security posts, police officers, and residents in parts of the South-East—incidents that have frequently been blamed on IPOB and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network.
He urged security agencies and policymakers to focus more on tackling politically motivated violence and the proliferation of cult groups, which he described as the “biggest single security challenge” confronting the region today.
There are too many contradictions in Chidi Odinkalu's comments. He's just throwing the word "cult" around loosely. "Gang-related" attacks in neighborhoods or campuses which he incorrectly calls "cults" have existed in the past, BUT he has to prove that it's some of the SE politicians doing this.
NOW, there's STRONG evidence that the main secessionist group is involved in a lot of these attacks because they like to use a lot of subterfuge and tell LIES a lot to cover up their activities and there are several online videos I have personally seen and saved on my mobile devices showing Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa and other paid male and female ipob members in Europe calling for violence and assassinations of many security officials and their own fellow Ibos who they call saboteurs or "sabos." The "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video report of 2022 (which is still online via the BBC Website) ALSO EXPOSED these heinous activities and disinformation of Nnamdi Kanu, Simon Ekpa and the rest ipob.
Nnamdi Kanu in particular notoriously called for the burning of strategic buildings in locations around Lagos State on a live pirate radio broadcast from London during the EndSARS protests on October 20 2020 (Ohaneze Ndigbo quickly condemned Nnamdi Kanu in the Guardian and Vanguard for trying to trigger ethnic suspicions against Ibos in Lagos with that IRRESPONSIBLE pirate radio broadcast from London), and he accepted that he was the one that made those incendiary radio comments when the videos were tendered in court this year. If Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (and others such as Wike) is eventually summoned to appear in court, he should be well armed with these FACTS to speed up the court trial so that Nnamdi can serve his full jail terms just like Simon Ekpa is doing and relative peace can be fully restored to the SE. Gangs in the SE and around Nigeria too must be dealt with firmly to tame urban and rural neighborhood violence. Period.
lagostrendboy: The House of Representatives has called for urgent measures to regulate arbitrary rent increases by landlords across the country, proposing a nationwide cap limiting annual rent hikes to no more than 20 percent of existing rates.
This followed the adoption of a motion on the “Need to Regulate Arbitrary Rent Increase and Protect Tenants from Exploitation” moved by Hon. Bassey Akiba during Thursday’s plenary.
Presenting the motion, Akiba cited examples from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where rents in some neighbourhoods with newly constructed roads have reportedly jumped from N800,000 to as high as N2.5 million per annum, placing an unbearable financial burden on tenants.
Akiba decried the “wanton exploitation” by property owners who take advantage of public infrastructure improvements to impose arbitrary rent increases, saying such practices undermine the government’s welfare initiatives and could drive vulnerable citizens into crime to meet inflated demands.
Adopting the motion, the House urged the Federal Government to prioritise investment in affordable housing schemes to reduce pressure on the rental market and ensure access to low-cost housing for citizens.
It also urged the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to collaborate with state governments to enforce rent control measures, ensuring that public infrastructure projects do not trigger exploitative rent hikes, and to cap rent increases at no more than 20 percent of existing rates, irrespective of new developments or other factors.
President Tinubu welcomes delisting of Nigeria from the FATF Grey List, says Nigeria is committed to Global Financial Transparency
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR has welcomed Nigeria's delisting from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list.
The FATF announced the delisting at its Plenary in Paris, France, today.
The FATF is the world’s foremost standard-setting body for combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing.
The announcement formally removed Nigeria from the list of jurisdictions under increased monitoring, commonly referred to as the “grey list”.
President Tinubu described the development as “a major milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards economic reform, institutional integrity and global credibility.”
This decision follows Nigeria’s successful and timely completion of its FATF Action Plan, marking over two years of sustained effort, reform and inter-agency coordination aimed at strengthening the country’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) framework.
In February 2023, the FATF placed Nigeria on the grey list. The message from the global community was clear: the nation needed more vigorous enforcement, better coordination, and greater transparency. Rather than treat this as a setback, Nigeria viewed it as a call to action.
Under President Tinubu’s strategic leadership and in line with the economic transformation agenda of his administration, Nigeria implemented far-reaching legal, institutional and operational reforms.
This was achieved through the coordination of the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), working in conjunction with the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Minister of Finance, and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and the Minister of Interior.
President Tinubu applauded the vital support from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Aviation, the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, the Minister for Defence, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Solid Minerals, the Minister of State for Finance, the National Security Adviser as well as the leadership of the National Assembly and the Judiciary, in the attainment of the laudable achievement.
President Tinubu commended the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the NFIU, Ms Hafsat Abubakar Bakari, and the staff for their diligence in ensuring the complete and timely implementation of the country’s Action Plan. He noted that the NFIU’s work has led to the recognition by the international community of the strides Nigeria has made in strengthening its measures to tackle serious crimes.
“Without their dedication and sacrifice, today’s success could not have been achieved. I thank them for their efforts and urged other stakeholders to emulate their standards”, President Tinubu said.
Nigeria’s efforts in completing the Action Plan were complemented by the country’s close partnership with the FATF and the Inter-Governmental Action Group Against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA).
President Tinubu acknowledged the strong support of international partners, the Governments of France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Nations and the European Commission, for their steadfast technical assistance during Nigeria’s reform process.
According to President Tinubu, Nigeria’s removal from the FATF grey list is “not just a technical accomplishment, it is a strategic victory for our economy and a renewed vote of confidence in Nigeria’s financial governance.
“The exit from the FATF grey list marks the beginning of a new chapter in the nation’s financial reform agenda as Nigeria will sustain the already institutionalised reforms, deepen institutional collaboration and continue to build a financial system that Nigerians and the world can trust”.

BREAKING: FATF delists Nigeria from global money laundering watchlist
The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has delisted Nigeria from its greylist of countries with deficiencies in anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing frameworks.
The global finance watchdog announced the decision at the end of a plenary meeting on Friday.
South Africa, Mozambique, and Burkina Faso were among the four African countries removed from the list.
This is highly impressive. The President Bola Tinubu's government is getting some things right on the global and domestic stage BUT a lot more has to be done to crash the cost of living for a lot of folks on the street level using especially the robust deployment of CNG-fuel infrastructure around Nigeria.
Explorers: The US bomber was on it was to England after landing at Keflavik Airport to refuel.
However, the weather conditions were poor in Iceland and the bomber was caught in a down-draught before crashing into the ice cap.
Fortunately, the plane landed on soft snow and kept sliding along its fuselage until coming to an abrupt stop at a snow bank.
One of the plane's wings was ripped off and the engines caught fire.
Some crew members were thrown into the snow through tears in the fuselage while those left on board managed to escape the plane before it caught ablaze.
The American servicemen had no idea where they were and could not send an SOS to the US Air Force base.
The crew decided to leave the glacier after two days of waiting for rescue and headed into a valley where they were helped by farmers in the area of Fljotshlio.
The US authorities later carried out two expeditions to the crash site by the end of that month.
The first made it to the plane wreck and managed to retrieve some items from it.
However, the second group had to turn back without reaching the site.
Over time, the glacier swallowed the plane, but it is now slowly coming back to view due to melting caused by global warming.
Explorers: A US WWII bomber has emerged from a melting glacier in Iceland 76 years after it crashed on it way to England.
The B-17 Flying Fortress bomber flew into the Eyjafjallajokull glacier in southern Iceland on September 16, 1944.
Miraculously all of its 10 crew members survived but the wreckage was abandoned and was covered and swallowed up by glacier.
Today, with global warming stripping the land of ice, the war plane has re-appeared, mangled and torn but still able to provide a fascinating glimpse into the past.
Locals examine the wreckage on the melted glacier in the south of Iceland.

SpaceX: While Barbados-born Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to capitalize on her social media presence—she has 101 million followers on Instagram and 102.5 million on Twitter—to build a beauty brand, she is the most successful beauty entrepreneur to do so. Fenty Beauty, which is a 50-50 joint venture with French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (run by Bernard Arnault, the world’s second-richest person), launched in 2017 with the goal of inclusivity. Its products come in a diverse range of colors—foundation is offered in 50 shades, including harder-to-find darker shades for women of color—and are modeled in its advertising by an equally diverse group of people.
Available online and at Sephora stores, which are also owned by LVMH, the products were an instant success. By 2018, its first full calendar year, the line was bringing in more than $550 million in annual revenues, according to LVMH, beating out other celebrity-founded brands like Kylie Jenner’s Kylie Cosmetics, Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty and Jessica Alba’s Honest Co.
“A lot of women felt there were no lines out there that catered to their skin tone. It was light, medium, medium dark, dark,” says Shannon Coyne, cofounder of consumer products consultancy Bluestock Advisors. “We all know that’s not reality. She was one of the first brands that came out and said, ‘I want to speak to all of those different people.’” While cosmetics sales slowed during the pandemic, beauty companies are worth as much as ever. Stocks of larger beauty conglomerates like Estée Lauder and L’Oréal have bounced back, reaching all-time highs and trading at impressive 7.5 (or more) times annual revenues. Meanwhile, independent brands like Beautycounter and Charlotte Tilbury inked deals with investment firms earlier this year at billion-dollar valuations.
That is good news for Rihanna. Thanks to the impressive multiples at which beauty companies are trading, Fenty Beauty is worth a conservative $2.8 billion, Forbes estimates. And all signs point to the company continuing to grow. In its annual report for 2020, LVMH said Fenty Skin, which launched last year, was off to a “very promising start” and “generated unprecedented buzz,” and that Fenty Beauty “maintained its appeal as a premier makeup brand.” Fenty Beauty isn’t Rihanna’s only billion-dollar brand. In February her lingerie line Savage x Fenty raised $115 million in funding at a $1 billion valuation. The company, which launched in 2018 as a joint venture with TechStyle Fashion Group, counts blue-chip investors like Jay-Z’s Marcy Venture Partners and private equity firm L. Catterton (in which Bernard Arnault is an investor) as shareholders. Rihanna maintains a 30% ownership stake, Forbes estimates. The latest round of funding will reportedly be used for customer acquisition and retail expansion.
Not that everything Rihanna touches turns to gold. In February, LVMH and Rihanna confirmed in a statement to Forbes that they had shut down their other venture, a high-end fashion and accessories house also called Fenty. Launched in 2019, Fenty sought to extend Rihanna’s brand of inclusivity and offer styles in a range of sizes. But like many luxury fashion brands, the high-priced line suffered during the pandemic, releasing its last collection in November 2020.
The only complaint some fans may have about her career as a fashion and beauty mogul? It keeps her busy. The singer, who used to release an album almost every year, hasn’t released a new album since 2016’s Anti.
From a financial perspective, that may be just fine: “She is creating a brand outside of herself. It’s not just about Rihanna,” says consultant Coyne. “Even if you don’t like her music, she’s created a real style in the fashion and beauty space.”
For a young Bajan woman like Rihanna whose last album as of this article was in 2016, her partnership or JV with LVMH was a deft move leading right up to her being listed as a legit Forbes USD billionaire.
SpaceX: When Robyn Fenty, known to the world as Rihanna, launched Fenty Beauty in 2017, she sought to create a cosmetics company that made “women everywhere (feel) included.” A perhaps unintended consequence: The beauty line has helped her enter one of the world’s most exclusive ranks: Billionaire.
Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion, Forbes estimates—making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer. But it’s not her music that’s made her so wealthy. The bulk of her fortune (an estimated $1.4 billion) comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, of which Forbes can now confirm she owns 50%. Much of the rest lies in her stake in her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress. Source:
Glimpsetv: A Chinese businessman known as Ross Boss has responded to accusations of scamming a Nigerian customer, allegations brought to light by Nigerian social media activist VeryDarkMan. The dispute revolves around an alleged scam involving a full container of goods and features a complex exchange of positions between VeryDarkMan and Ross Boss.
Initial Partnership: VeryDarkMan had previously promoted Ross Boss as a trusted business associate for Nigerians seeking to import goods from China. In March 2025, he highlighted how Ross Boss had helped him recover money from a separate scam and praised the businessman for opening up opportunities to Nigerians.
VeryDarkMan’s Reversal: In October 2025, VeryDarkMan publicly withdrew his endorsement of Ross Boss. He released videos retracting his earlier statements and cautioning Nigerians to exercise care when dealing with Ross Boss.
The Scam Allegation: This reversal was triggered by a complaint from a Nigerian woman who claimed that Ross Boss had scammed her out of a full container of goods. In his video, VeryDarkMan explained that he no longer trusts Ross Boss after observing what he described as "shady" business practices during a trip to China.
Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan (VDM) and BLord have been engaging in an online exchange after VDM accused BLord—a popular cryptocurrency entrepreneur—of selling repackaged iPhone XRs as iPhone 17s and selling cars at exorbitant prices to Nigerians. VDM vowed to reveal secrets behind sourcing these items cheaper in China and promised to show Nigerians how to get products shipped from China at lower costs.
Ross Boss’s Response: Ross Boss, described as VDM’s “China plug,” has publicly responded to VeryDarkMan’s accusations. He challenged the woman to report the case to the police in China, stating clearly that if the allegations were true, he would face severe legal consequences, including being jailed in China. He also pointed to his substantial inventory to question the likelihood of risking his entire business over a single transaction.
In addition, Ross Boss made several counterclaims against VeryDarkMan:
He called VeryDarkMan "childish and immature" and accused him of using his influence to fabricate false evidence.
He alleged that VeryDarkMan was attempting to use a “nameless girl” to defame him.
He stated that he had spent $15,000 (about N23 million) on VeryDarkMan during his visit to China and presented receipts as proof.
Regarding VeryDarkMan’s claim of seeing 15 Facebook accounts on his phone, Ross Boss clarified that the accounts belonged to his sales staff.
He also claimed that VeryDarkMan’s so-called “direct Chinese contact” named “Wanyi Accessories” was actually VeryDarkMan’s sister, Vivian Otse, pretending to be Chinese.
In the video, Ross Boss alleged that it is actually VDM who has an EFCC case and questioned why VDM is now labeling him a scammer.
Ross Boss explained that he has been in business for over 10 years—long before VeryDarkMan came to China this year—and that he has never taken a kobo from VDM. He dared VDM to focus on what they actually do together instead of trying to paint him as a scammer.
He also challenged VeryDarkMan to provide any evidence of a scam, stating that he is waiting for proof.
The conflict has escalated into a public dispute, with both parties trading accusations online. The situation has highlighted broader issues in cross-border trade between Nigeria and China, including the risks of online scams and the challenges of seeking legal recourse in international business transactions. VeryDarkMan has maintained his position, while Ross Boss continues to defend his reputation and business practices.

A baby lion 🦁 the last time I checked is over 100k. I stand to be corrected and a universe worth more. So just imagine someone giving you a gift worth 1 million like 5 times, then add the little ones that worth 500k. There’s a high chance of earning 10 million in a livestream.
I doubt the 70 million tho, except it was bought in dollars which is $67,000 or he was used by gee boys to pick funds. 🚶♂️

prof2007: The human body is incredibly resilient. When you donate a pint of blood, you lose about 3.5 trillion red blood cells, but your body quickly replaces them. You can even lose large chunks of vital organs and live. e.g. people can live relatively normal lives with just half a brain. Other organs can be removed in their entirety without having too much impact on your life. Here are some of the “non-vital organs”.
1. SPLEEN This organ sits on the left side of the abdomen, towards the back under the ribs. It is most commonly removed as a result of injury. Because it sits close the ribs, it is vulnerable to abdominal trauma. It is enclosed by a tissue paper-like capsule, which easily tears, allowing blood to leak from the damaged spleen. If not diagnosed and treated, it will result in death.
When you look inside the spleen, it has two notable colours. A dark red colour and small pockets of white. These link to the functions. The red is involved in storing and recycling red blood cells, while the white is linked to storage of white cells and platelets.
You can comfortably live without a spleen. This is because the liver plays a role in recycling red blood cells and their components. Similarly, other lymphoid tissues in the body help with the immune function of the spleen.
Glimpsetv: Tension as Truckloads of Fulani Herders Allegedly Arrive Kwara Border for INEC Registration
Reports from remote communities in Kwara State’s Kaiama and Baruten local government areas have sparked alarm, as residents claim that truckloads of Fulani herders from various parts of Nigeria—and possibly beyond—are being brought to INEC registration centres for voter enrolment.
Locals describe the movement as massive and unprecedented, raising concerns about potential political manipulation and security risks in these border communities.
Both Kaiama and Baruten, predominantly Batonu-speaking areas, share a porous boundary with the Republic of Benin, making cross-border movements difficult to monitor.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recently commenced its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise. Online pre-registration began on August 18, 2025, while in-person registration at local government offices and designated centres started on August 25, 2025. The exercise is scheduled to run until August 30, 2026.
Video footage shared by Sahara Reporter on X has already sparked widespread reactions, with many expressing concern over the scale of the mobilisation.

Mr Chinonso Nze*** resides in the USA. His mother is from Mgbidi in Imo State, but he is from Ihiala in Anambra State.
He has been donating to the "Struggle" since 2019, with donations totaling $22,000 between 2019 and 2023.
I don't even know what is the "struggle"
He once worked with Dr Godwin Maduka as a medical consultant.
In March 2023, his junior brother, who had returned from Australia, was kidnapped in Amorka while heading to their maternal home in Mgbidi.
He was driving a Mercedes SUV
They took him to Orsumoghu camp, where he disclosed that his family were financiers of the struggle and they shouldn't kill him
They searched through his phone and discovered that he's a big man
Despite this, they demanded a ransom of 100 million naira. His brother in the USA intervened, reminding them that he's a financier of the struggle and offering to send 5 million naira for beer via at all at all
They still refused. This man tried reaching a certain struggle leader in Finland, all to no avail. I don't even know his name
His brother stayed there for 5 days, and he ended up paying 95 million Naira. They told him that they'll call him to collect the Jeep later
He didn't report to the police and he warned his brother not to
The kidnappers promised to return the Jeep after completing their "Lord's work", but it was never returned.
After about 2 months, the car wasn't returned, he later got in touch with the man in Finland.
The man in Finland said he'll look into it. Two months went into 3,4,5, and Six Months.
He contacted the man in Finland again and he told him that he should forget about the money and the car, that Umu oma is using it to secure the land
An Anambra man, who is donating to you monthly, you still kid.napped him in his own land?
He threatened the man in Finland to report to 82 division Enugu that he found his car tracked in Bayelsa and he wonders why they're securing Bayelsa with his car
The man in Finland told him to calm down. Two days later, they burnt his house in the village that he built with 70 million in 2020,
Burnt his brother's house that's still under construction and intentionally broke his mum's arm
They told her to tell her son that if he brings Fulani janjawwed zoo army into their land, they'll k.ill her.
Well, he didn't report again. He allowed God to be the judge
He has since stopped donating and has relocated the mum and everybody in his compound to Lagos and hasn't returned since then
May Affliction never rise the second
Please what's the struggle and who's the man I'm Finland?

ecgreb: On October 24, 2025—the same day the trial was slated to commence his defense—Nyesom Wike reacted publicly to his inclusion on Kanu's witness list during an event or media interaction (as reported by multiple outlets). Wike expressed surprise and dismissal, questioning Kanu's decision to list him without any formal process.
I Will Only Appear As Nnamdi Kanu’s Witness If Summoned By Court – Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has stated that he will not appear as a witness in the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), simply because his name was listed in the newspapers.
However, Wike emphasized that if the court formally summons him to testify or provide evidence, he will comply without hesitation.
The Minister made the remarks during a media parley in Abuja on Friday, stating that nobody has served him any process to appear as Kanu’s witness in court.
“You don’t become a witness by reading the newspaper. Nobody has served me any process; nobody has subpoenaed me,” Wike said. “So, because I saw Wike listed, I will not begin to run helter-skelter. No, you don’t do that. If I am served, if I am subpoenaed to come and give a witness or give evidence, I must obey the court; I must appear.”
When asked if he knew why Nnamdi Kanu listed him as one of his witnesses, Wike responded that he did not, adding that only the IPOB leader could explain the reason.
“If you see Nnamdi Kanu, you ask him, ‘Why did you list me? I did not go and say I want to be a witness.’ So, if you see him, ask him, ‘Why did you list Wike as one of your witnesses?’
Wike refrained from commenting on whether Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing detention calls for a political solution.
Kanu, who is facing terrorism charges in the Abuja Federal High Court, listed Wike among other top names as “compellable witnesses” in his ongoing trial.
Others listed as witnesses by the IPOB leader are a former Minister of Defence, Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd), a former Chief of Army Staff, Gen Tukur Buratai (rtd), as well as Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Hope Uzodinma, Governors of Lagos and Imo States respectively.
He further listed the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and the immediate past governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu.
The IPOB leader has been held in the custody of the DSS since his extradition from Kenya in June 2021.

My pleasure.
I like the fact that you added Bay leaves as I've become addicted to eating my smokey party Jollof rice infused with Bay leaves and more for that unique taste and aroma. I'm looking forward to how it'll pan out when used for the coconut rice and coconut Jollof 🥥 rice variations down the road.
iwa.eda: Residents of Shanono Local Government Area in Kano State are living in fear following a deadly invasion by armed bandits who stormed the area two days ago on about 50 motorcycles, each carrying three persons, roughly 150 attackers.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the assailants, believed to have crossed into Kano from neighbouring Katsina State, reportedly killed several people and carted away livestock and farming equipment, leaving the community in panic.
Communities along the Katsina–Kano border, including Faruruwa, Kuraku, Goron-Dutse, Tsaure, and Yan-Shado, have suffered repeated attacks in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, villagers say the gunmen often infiltrate their areas through bush paths, looting and kidnapping residents with little resistance.
Farmers and community leaders lamented that the rising wave of insecurity has crippled farming and business activities, forcing many residents to flee their homes.
Appealing for urgent government intervention, the Chairman of the Faruruwa and Neighbourhood Security Committee, Yahaya Bagobiri, told journalists that the few security personnel deployed to the area are overwhelmed by the scale of the attacks.
“We have been facing serious security challenges since 2022. Bandits from Katsina and neighbouring states invade our communities almost daily. That is why we are calling on the government to come to our aid,” Bagobiri said.
He disclosed that the attacks have claimed several lives and displaced hundreds of residents, while more than 1,600 cows, numerous motorcycles, and farming machines have been stolen.
“Just two days ago, they invaded our area with about 50 motorcycles, each carrying three persons, roughly 150 attackers. They killed people and stole livestock,” he recounted.
Bagobiri described the number of security operatives in the area as “grossly inadequate,” noting that the Joint Task Force (JTF) stationed there has fewer than 15 personnel to cover the entire volatile region.
Residents have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to urgently strengthen security presence in Shanono and other border communities to prevent further bloodshed and displacement.
“How can 10 or 15 security operatives confront over 150 armed men?” Bagobiri said.
He explained that both the Kano State Commissioner of Police and a senior Army Commander had recently visited the area to assess the situation. However, he noted that the attacks have persisted despite those visits.
He said that some victims have been forced to pay huge ransoms to free kidnapped relatives.
“One of our residents, Alhaji Haruna Gatali, paid N15 million to secure the release of his wife,” Bagobiri lamented.
“We sincerely hope the authorities will act quickly to restore peace and security to our communities.”
It's obvious that those who recently got so-called amnesties from the Katsina State government haven't totally given up their heinous crimes but have merely shifted base to nearby States such as Kano.
Kano State has been peaceful from banditry for long since the last major Bororo Fula bandits attacks on Kano communities. If this story is true, then the Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu's urgent plan and call for security to be decentralized has to be quickened. ALL security is LOCAL and States that can afford it MUST be supervised to get surveillance drones and key into satellite surveillance systems.
These insidious bandits who are LARGELY foreigners crossing the common porous Norther Nigeria borders are using small drones to spy on communities as well and local intelligence made up of the indigenous Hausas MUST be used and NOT limited to the minority Fulas who could use it to dominate the Hausas. This is why a coordinating unit MUST be in place to ensure this State and Community policing isn't misused to dominate the majority indigenous people who have been complaining of ethnic dominance of their lands in recent videos. Period.
