PoliticsRe: Natural Gas Is The Future Of Nigeria And Igbo Land Hold That Key ! by Konquest: 10:51am On Oct 30, 2025
ariesbull:
IGBO NATION: RICHER THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE

The Igbo regions of Nigeria, particularly states like Imo, Anambra, Abia, Enugu, and recently Ebonyi, hold vast natural gas reserves, including oil wells that position the region as an economic powerhouse. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the wealth beneath the surface:

Overview of Gas Reserves in Southeastern Nigeria

1. Imo State:
Imo State is home to one of the largest gas reserves, not just in Nigeria, but in the world. It boasts an estimated 200 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of proven reserves, a major portion of Nigeria’s total gas wealth. This immense resource has made Imo a critical player in the country’s energy sector. Gas from Imo supports several national projects, including the Lagos Gas Company and the AKK Gas Pipeline, which channels gas to other parts of Nigeria. However, questions remain about where the proceeds of this wealth are directed—an important topic for future discussion.

2. The Anambra Basin:
The Anambra Basin, covering parts of Anambra, Enugu, and Imo States, holds about 10 TCF of proven gas reserves. This region has emerged as a promising frontier for gas and unconventional petroleum exploration. Notable fields like Igbariam and Ugwuoba are active, operating under licenses such as OML 155, OPL 915, and OPL 916. The basin is also rich in shale oil and coal, which adds to its potential as a future economic hub.

3. Abia and Enugu States:
Although their reserves are smaller compared to Imo, Abia and Enugu States contribute to the gas wealth of the southeastern region. These states, part of the broader Anambra Basin, are prime areas for future exploration and development, holding untapped resources that could fuel future projects.

4. Ebonyi State:
As a relatively new entrant in the resource-rich Igbo states, Ebonyi is gradually making strides in gas exploration. With ongoing surveys, it is expected to add significantly to the region’s natural gas portfolio.

The Potential and Challenges

The southeastern region’s gas reserves offer an incredible opportunity for industrial growth and energy security in Nigeria. However, there are several challenges. The underdeveloped infrastructure, political instability, and intentional suppression by certain governmental forces have hindered the full exploitation of these resources. With proper investment and political will, southeastern Nigeria could unlock a massive economic transformation, not only for the region but for the entire country.

The potential for growth is clear. The Igbo Nation is sitting on an economic goldmine, one that, if fully harnessed, could redefine Nigeria’s place on the global energy map.

Bayelsa State still remains the current BIGGEST and prolific producer of natural gas in Nigeria from onshore and offshore sources followed by Delta, Rivers State and Akwa Ibom in that order based on which state produces more if there are NO disruptions. However, in reverse, Akwa Ibom State is the undisputed number 1 producer of crude oil in Nigeria based on annual official oil and gas records.

Second somebody incorrectly wrote here that the Industrial hub in Ota is being fed with gas from the South East of Nigeria. This is totally FALSE as the natural gas from gas pipelines being fed to the Industrial Hubs in Lagos and Ota in Ogun State are majorly directly from Itsekiriland in Delta State who have majorly part Yoruba ancestry (with Yoruba being the parent ethnicity that makes up the Itsekiris) so commendations and huge credit MUST go to the Itsekiris and Delta State for the gas being used in Lagos and Ogun States. The major natural gas pipeline leading directly from Nigeria to Ghana too comes majorly from Itsekiriland in Delta State (with the Okan, Meji, Meta, Merin oil wells in the oil and gas-rich Itsekiriland that have been in existence since the 1960s. Okan, Meji, Meta, Merin are numbers 1, 2, 3, and 4 in Yoruba language and Itsekiri language which is a subgroup of the larger Yoruba language) perhaps a pipeline maybe running partly from the Forcados area in the core Ijaw axis of Delta State as well.
PoliticsRe: Customs Recruitment: 'Lagos got more slots than all Northern. states combined" by Konquest: 10:15am On Oct 30, 2025
ogododo:
The Majority Leader of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawan Hussaini Dala has raised alarm over what he described as a gross injustice and imbalance in the ongoing recruitment exercise by the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), alleging that the process favours the southern part of the country.

Speaking during plenary on Wednesday, Hon. Dala said the recruitment exercise violated the principles of Federal Character.

He said whereas there ought to be fairness and equal representation in federal appointments and employments, the recruitment was designed to favour a section of the country against the other.

“I am on this floor to challenge the way and manner the recruitment exercise is going on at the Nigeria Customs Service. To us, there is injustice, the Federal Character that was saddled with the responsibility of ensuring equitable sharing of rights wasn’t considered,” he stated.

According to him, a total of 1,785 candidates were recruited nationwide, but the distribution of the slots heavily favoured states in the South-West, particularly Lagos and Ogun States, which he said received a disproportionately higher share.

“Lagos alone got 207, Ogun 145, Ondo 132, Osun 127, Oyo 108, and Ekiti, which is not more than Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, got 93. Altogether, the South-West got 812 slots, more than half of the total number of recruits in the entire country,” Dala lamented.

He contrasted this with the allocations given to states in the North-West, describing the disparity as “unacceptable and unjustifiable.”

“In the North-West, Kano got only 31, Katsina 20, Jigawa 18, and Zamfara 16. Altogether, the entire region got only about 7 percent of the total number recruited,” he said.

The lawmaker further revealed that across the northern region, only 651 slots were allotted, while the bulk of the opportunities went to states in the southern part of the country.

“Honourable Speaker, this is injustice, and if we keep quiet on issues like this, our people will continue to be cheated. The entire northern region was just left with 651 slots. If this continues, the Nigeria Customs Service in a few years to come will belong to a particular ethnicity or region,” he warned.

Dala urged the House to officially communicate the Assembly’s concern to relevant federal authorities, including the National Assembly, the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the Nigeria Customs Service, demanding a review of the recruitment process to reflect fairness and inclusivity.

He said such imbalances in federal employment opportunities could further deepen regional mistrust and threaten national unity if not promptly addressed.

“We are calling on the Federal Character Commission and other relevant agencies to ensure that recruitment into federal institutions adheres strictly to fairness, equity, and justice, as enshrined in our constitution,” Dala added.

Other members of the Assembly who spoke on the matter supported Dala’s motion, calling on northern lawmakers at the National Assembly to take up the issue and ensure that corrective measures are taken.

The Speaker of the House commended Hon. Dala for bringing the matter to light, describing it as “a patriotic move in defence of fairness and justice.”

He directed the relevant House Committee to investigate the recruitment figures and report back for further legislative action.

There should be justice in the allocation of employment based on merit, BUT this again could have something to do with the number of those who applied from each State of Nigeria. The South East of Nigeria generally has LOW enrolments in the Police, military and paramilitary because of the push and pull of buying and selling including other careers. Fortunately, two Enugu indigenes and military officers have made it as Chief of Naval Staff (Igala) and currently the well-read AVM Aneke the new Chief of Air Staff.

The South West of Nigeria shares major borders with West Africa and has a major international business outlet towards the Atlantic Ocean, so, the recruitment of young folks from there would be among the most prominent.

However, for several years right from the military dictatorship years of IBB to the years of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, far Northern Nigerians and the minority Fulas were heavily recruited into the DSS, Customs, and other parastatals based on quota system.
Foreign AffairsRe: Morocco Charges More Than 2,400 People Over Gen Z Protests by Konquest: 10:00am On Oct 30, 2025
FreeStuffsNG:
Morocco has charged more than 2,400 people over recent youth-led protests that turned violent, a sweeping response to some of the country’s largest anti-government demonstrations in years.

Of the 2,480 charged, 1,473 people remain in custody awaiting trial. Charges included armed rebellion, insulting and using violence against a public official exercising his duties, and incitement to commit felonies.

The demonstrations took Morocco by surprise after a youth-led movement called Gen Z 212 mobilized thousands across the country to protest the state of public services. The movement, organized on social media platforms like Discord, criticized government spending on infrastructure to host sporting events while neglecting social services.

Though organizers urged peaceful demonstrations, protests turned violent in some cities and towns, leaving three dead, injuring many others and damaging shops and cars. Rights groups criticized authorities’ heavy-handed approach toward the demonstrators, but the public prosecutor said interventions were carried out legally.

The wave of arrests has alarmed human rights groups and become an additional rallying cry for demonstrators, who have at recent protests held signs for those arrested for attending protests. The Moroccan Association for Human Rights has denounced the arrests and called them random, while Gen Z 212 has demanded the release of all the protests’ detainees.

“Those calling for a fair chance for their future should not be met with lethal force and repression,” Human Rights Watch’s Associate Director Hanan Salah said last week in a statement.

Those arrested include Hamza Raid, a Moroccan rapper who was detained in Casablanca last month, whose lyrics often touch on politics and channel youth anger.

Three of the accused appeared in court on Monday before a presiding judge in the capital, Rabat, charged with incitement to commit felonies and insulting an official body after they printed activist slogans on Morocco’s soccer team jerseys, their attorneys told The Associated Press. They could face up to five years in prison if convicted.

Before a crowded court room, the attorneys made an application for bail for their clients – two college students and a print shop worker – who they said could be harmed after doing little to justify their arrests.

The public prosecutor said more than 400 people were condemned, with sentences ranging from one to 15 years. It added that 34 people were acquitted of all charges.

BusinessRe: Bokku Mart Rises In Popularity As Cancel Culture Fails by Konquest: 9:20am On Oct 30, 2025
Slytiger:
Bokku Mart has gained popularity after what would have become its downfall was transformed into a means of fame for the supermarket.

A video advert on its social media platform had generated controversy after people of Igbo ethnicity lamented that it contained an ethnic slur against them.

The video showed a social media influencer hyping the supermarket, saying the products they sell are very cheap and that 'omo Igbo' will not cheat her if she keeps shopping at Bokku Mart.

Despite apologies from the influencer and Bokku Mart, some Igbo social media users have been running a campaign to cancel the supermarket.

Unfortunately for them, a push back arrived from Yoruba people, who have chosen to defend the supermarket, because someone from their ethnicity owns it.

They have since been running a social media campaign promoting the supermarket, which has boosted the establishment's social media following and increased brand awareness.

An X user, @AKakanfo, said, "The Jews patronise Jewish stores, the Arabs patronise Arab stores, the Han Chinese patronise Han Chinese stores. Yoruba people must always patronise their own and defend the economic base of our fellow Yorubas. Bokku mart is the best in the world. Groupnomics is equal to powernomics.

@ollywithsweet said, "My groceries items from now will always be from @bokkumart. It is unbelievable to see quality items being sold at discounted prices. I didn't know much about them until now. When others take advantage of situations to milk their fellow, @bokkumart is there selling at subsidised."

@adetokunboajala said, "Yoruba people with over liberality will find it hard to understand this post. We are more than 50 million strong living in contiguous communities. The potential economic advantage in that is profound."

@VaikaBrothers said, "We have created too many space for this people to occupy. Most of this nonsense happens in areas developed by federal government. Our people must also be empowered to trade more and compete.'

@lagospidia said, "Since yesterday Omo Igbo wan cancel Bokku Mart, but their followers still dey increase. It's now obvious they don't have

purchasing power, just like they don't have political power."

@letsbuildnew9ja said, "@bokkumart and make sure you buy from them from now on, that's my new shopping spot and they don't sell fake products."

@PastorMarvy said, "Boycott Bokku Mart' but they have gained more than 2,000 new followers under 24 hours. 'Boycott Bokku Mart' but hundreds have already queued up for their renowned bread and cheap groceries. Imagine having the confidence of a Lion but the ability/impact of a house fly."

People have a right to buy from wherever they want to buy from [and vote for whoever they want to vote] for WITHOUT being cyberbullied via propaganda (like some misguided bigots have been doing for years online spreading hate speech and massive disinformation online and offline).

Some of what that young lady said in her video have major elements of TRUTH because of the overinflated retail costs and the sale by some retail shops owned by SE people of fake or adulterated toxic medicines, toxic wines and other drinks (such as malt and beer) produced in highly unhygienic environments based off of the arrests of several SE people (in Idumota, Ojo, Ikorodu, Ijora all in Lagos State, Aba in Abia State, Anambra, Benin City, etc), for many years now on uncountable occasions by NAFDAC and the Police in sting operations. The repackaging of expired products to look like new is one of those heinous crimes which have led many to boycott these stores for BETTER organized stores such as Spar, Bokku, ShopRite, and more.

Bokku is a recognized brand in a niche market ecosystem that will keep growing unless they stop innovating. Period.

"You're a black pot calling a kettle black."

While I do not totally agree with her using Omo Ibo (it simply means an "Ibo person" or "Ibo child" which is NOT an ethnic slur) in her online ad which can be misconstrued by mischievous propagandists, elements of what that young lady said (who I'm just getting to know for the first time ever) are TRUE with some traders of Ibo origin in Lagos, and other States [with Enugu State-based middle men beans hoarders reported in the media coming to mind here as reported in 2025 on NL and the mass media] ripping people off with high cost of local and imported goods and food items to make excessive profits as reported in the media and like VDM duely exposed BL recently and the fact that some young Ibo traders have been called out several times for pulling the cloths and making insulting and SEXIST statements about many women who come to buy from the regular open markets around major cities in Nigeria which eventually led to past public protests by several women and human rights advocates. The hypocrisy from some of you stinks as there is a digital trail of hate speech and deliberate disinformation from your ilk on YouTube, Facebook, X, NL, and blogs for several decades now.

Bokku Mart, a Nigerian retail chain, has come under intense fire online after an advertisement featuring influencer Defolah was accused of promoting ethnic prejudice.

The controversial video, which has since been taken down, showed Defolah comparing the store’s prices with those in open-air markets while making remarks many Nigerians found offensive.

“So you mean I can get beans and garri Ijebu at Bokku without any Omo Igbo cheating me?” she said in the clip.

“It’s so relaxing to shop without someone pulling you from the left and right, shouting my colour.”

The comments sparked widespread outrage across social media, with critics accusing Bokku of endorsing ethnic stereotypes and disrespecting the Igbo community.

In response to the uproar, Defolah publicly apologised, clarifying that her statement was not meant to demean any ethnic group.

“I sincerely apologise. It was never my intention to promote any form of tribal bias or disrespect to the Igbo people,” she said.

However, the apology has done little to quell the backlash, as many Nigerians continue to call for a boycott of Bokku Mart and demand accountability from the brand.

BusinessRe: Dangote Eyes $100b Enterprise By 2030 With Transformative Growth Across Africa by Konquest: 3:45am On Oct 29, 2025

By : helen_oji

President of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has unveiled an ambitious vision to expand his conglomerate into a $100 billion enterprise by 2030, reinforcing his position as one of Africa’s most influential business leaders.

In addition, the billionaire business mogul also plans to expand his refinery investment and double production capacity, a move aimed at slashing fuel prices by up to 50 per cent and boosting Africa’s energy affordability.

Speaking at the Afreximbank Legacy Conference in Cairo, Egypt, Dangote said the group’s growth plan will focus on consolidation, industrial expansion, and cross-border investments that would deepen Africa’s self-sufficiency in key sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

Currently valued at over $30 billion, the Dangote Group has interests spanning cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, and the recently launched Dangote Refinery — the largest single-train refinery in the world.

Dangote, whose net worth is estimated at $30.2 billion, said the next phase of his vision is to double the company’s production capacity across all segments, including refining, to reduce energy costs across the continent.According to him, expanding output at the refinery would allow the group to cut petroleum product prices by as much as 50 per cent, boosting regional competitiveness and reducing Africa’s dependence on imported fuels.

He said: “Our ambition is not just to build factories, but to build Africa’s capacity to feed, power, and industrialise itself. By 2030, the Dangote Group will be a $100 billion organisation driven by innovation, integration, and impact.”Dangote expressed confidence that the Group’s ambitious target of becoming a $100 billion organisation within the next five years is achievable, highlighting the longstanding partnership with the new President of Afreximbank, Dr. George Elombi, who has been with the bank for over 30 years.

“Your leadership commitment will indeed help Africa to stop exporting jobs and importing poverty. Our vision 2030 plan in Dangote Group is to become a $100 billion organisation in the next five years.

“With you as the incoming president, I’m sure our target would remain because it is based on existing partnership. We must challenge ourselves to set lofty goals because you will lead the continent into the promise land,” Dangote said.He emphasised that strong leadership across Africa is essential to reducing job exportation and poverty.

He expressed optimism that Elombi’s presidency will help maintain the momentum needed to take Africa closer to economic self-reliance, industrial growth, and inclusive prosperity.

Dangote added that the group’s strategy will leverage partnerships with financial institutions such as Afreximbank, which has supported several of its large-scale projects. He emphasised the importance of local value addition and intra-African trade, noting that sustainable growth will depend on Africa’s ability to process its raw materials and strengthen regional supply chains.

“We must challenge ourselves to set lofty goals. We can no longer afford to export raw materials and import finished goods. Africa must become a continent that produces, processes, and prospers.”At the same event, business and government leaders commended Dangote’s commitment to Africa’s industrialisation agenda.

They noted that his projects have already created tens of thousands of jobs and transformed Nigeria into a major player in cement, fertiliser, and soon, refined petroleum exports. Dangote’s announcement comes amid growing calls for African billionaires and institutions to scale up investments in infrastructure, value-added industries, and trade-enabling projects in partnership with Afreximbank and other continental lenders.

NaijaphiliaBlog:
The price of rice is currently going through the floor in multiple markets all over Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria.

This has been confirmed by traders and consumers in the city interviewed by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and who disclosed that the essential victual has witnessed a sudden drop in price.

The crash in price affects both local and foreign brands of rice.

In various markets such as Arena (Oshodi), Festac Town, Mile 12, and Oyingbo, a 50kg bag local rice which sold for about ₦85,000 in January 2025 currently sells between ₦60,000 and ₦70,000.

Likewise, foreign rice which was ₦95,000 as at January is now between ₦65,000 and ₦75,000 depending on the brand/location.

The price drop has been credited to improved local harvests and a massive surge in imports following the reopening of Nigeria’s borders.

Rice is not 70k, I just bought 1 at 55k. A moderate family will eat that for 2months even if they are wasteful.

If you want the price to come down to 20k hope you are equally ready to drop the service or the product you sell by 500%

Your income has increased by over 300% but you want those in rice business not to make gain from their business, that type of selfish mentality is what many of you carry into business and eventually kill the business, because you are too narrow to understand that the price of a product is the aggregate cost of other input and the purchasing power of the consumer.
PoliticsRe: Wole Soyinka Reacts As U.S Revokes His Visa Permanently by Konquest: 3:02am On Oct 29, 2025
Maxy.milliano:
Nobel Laureate and world-renowned writer, Professor Wole Soyinka, has disclosed that his United States visa was recently revoked permanently by American authorities.

Speaking during a media parley held at Freedom Park in Lagos on Tuesday, the literary icon explained that the decision followed his refusal to attend a reinterview requested by the U.S. Consulate.

Soyinka revealed that he had torn his American green card shortly after the emergence of former President Donald Trump in his first term, describing it as a personal protest against what he saw as divisive and discriminatory leadership.

Following that act, he resorted to travelling to the U.S. with a B1/B2 visa.

According to him, the consulate later invited him for a visa revalidation interview, which he ignored.

Then, on October 23, 2025, he received another letter asking him to visit the consulate so that his visa could be officially stamped as “cancelled permanently.”

The professor, however, said he would not honour the invitation, insisting that such a visit was unnecessary.

“If they wish to cancel it, that is their business,” Soyinka said. “I will not go there to help them do it.”

Despite the revocation, he noted that he would not reciprocate the action.

“I will continue to welcome any American to my home if they have anything legitimate to do with me,” he affirmed.

Soyinka also used the occasion to recount two earlier experiences he had with U.S. authorities, both of which he described as minor and misunderstood incidents that did not amount to criminal activity.

The first incident, he said, occurred many years ago at an American airport.

Having flown in from the United Kingdom during winter, Soyinka decided to eat some spicy chilli pepper to keep warm. He also placed a few in his pocket before boarding his flight.

Upon arrival in the U.S., airport officials discovered the pepper during a routine search and fined him 25 dollars for bringing agricultural produce into the country without declaration.

“The officials were just doing their job,” he said, laughing. “It was a harmless mistake I simply forgot to declare the chilli I had carried from London.”

The second incident took place in the 1970s at Chicago Airport, where Soyinka said he had challenged an immigration officer who made a racist remark. The confrontation drew attention, and the police were called in.

It took the intervention of the late Chief Emeka Anyaoku, who later became Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, to calm the situation and prevent it from escalating.

Reflecting on both experiences, Soyinka said, “I do not think those two incidents are enough to classify me as having a criminal record in the United States. They were simply misunderstandings that could happen to anyone.”

The Nobel Laureate added that aside from those moments, he had enjoyed cordial relations with the U.S. for many years until the political climate changed under Trump’s administration.

He concluded by urging people to always stand against discrimination and injustice anywhere in the world.

“Silence in the face of prejudice,” Soyinka said, “is as dangerous as the act itself.”

Dpharisee:
Elon Musk produces electric cars and high powered batteries called Tesla Power Wall with 20 years warranty.

The reality is that Elon Musk is making the oil which we are still spending billions to search for in the North to become useless.
Some gas and coal power plants in UK are on the verge of shutting down because many homes can now generate their own power and even sell excess back to the grid using Power Wall and solar.

Countries like UAE and Saudi Arabia seeing the 'danger' posed by Tesla are developing futuristic models to diversify from oil which may not rebound as demand remains low coupled with the impact of Covid19.

Nigeria which failed to plan is now in a tight corner, UK and France in 2019 have already declared a 10 year deadline to phase out all petrol and diesel cars. This was what happened to coal driven locomotives years back when oil and gas was discovered.

Nigeria seeing Elon Musk gradually taking down our sole source of revenue resorted to taking loans from China, IMF, world bank, Brazil and babiya Allahring cheesy for help from every corner of the earth in taking care of either insecurity or Covid19.

Now that we have over borrowed and the likelihood of repayment from oil is now slimmer and our creditors are no longer ready to grant us more loans we are resorting to stealing people's money that are dormant in the banks to pay civil servants salaries instead of looking for the owners of the deposits and dividends grin

When Femi Otedola Was The Largest Owner Of Oil Tankers In Africa (Throwback Photos)

Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Femi Otedola took to his Instagram handle to share photos of his investiture as the president of the Nigerian chamber of shipping in the year 2005, when he was the largest ship owner (oil tankers) in Africa, IgbereTV reports.

Sharing the photos, he wrote;

In 2003, having seen an opportunity in the fuel retail market, Otedola secured the finance to set up Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, a petroleum products marketing and distribution company.

By 2005, Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd controlled a major share of the Nigerian diesel market, supplying fuel to most of the major manufacturers in the country including Dangote Group, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Nigerian Breweries, MTN, Unilever, Nestle and Guinness

Elon Musk, the outspoken entrepreneur behind Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, is now the richest person on the planet.

A 4.8% rally in the electric carmaker’s share price Thursday boosted Musk past Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the world’s 500 wealthiest people.

The South Africa-born engineer’s net worth was $188.5 billion at 10:15 a.m. in New York, $1.5 billion more than Bezos, who has held the top spot since October 2017
. As chief executive officer of Space Exploration Technologies Corp., or SpaceX, Musk is also a rival to Bezos, owner of Blue Origin LLC, in the private space race.

The milestone caps an extraordinary 12 months for Musk. Over the past year his net worth soared by more than $150 billion in possibly the fastest bout of wealth creation in history. Fueling his rise was an unprecedented rally in Tesla’s share price, which surged 743% last year on the back of consistent profits, inclusion in the S&P 500 Index and enthusiasm from Wall Street and retail investors alike.

Bezos would still hold a wide lead over Musk had it not been for his divorce, which saw him cede about a quarter of his Amazon stake to his ex-wife, MacKenzie Scott, and his philanthropy. He donated shares worth about $680 million in November.

Elon Musk couldn't care less about any of these. He's a billionaire who wants to be an oligarch. He made over 40bn in a day after Trump won the election and he will now be running US space program. The right wingers in America are far less educated and much more gullible that's why he is focused on them just like Trump did. Trump is not even remotely right wing he just collects their money, sell stupid things and tell them immigrants are coming after them and they made him president. Musk likely studied how pathetic they are and decided to follow the same route
Well said.

That's the opposite side or double edged sword of "compound interest" on loans borrowed from a bank (or a consortium of banks). If you do NOT have do a proper risk assessment of your new project against all potential variables that can manifest down the road, then be ready to go south like a speeding bullet.

If the dude can't pay back WITHIN a specific timeframe, then he should let go of that VI building and concentrate on where his has comparative business advantage or even retire. Period.

iwa.eda:
Coup Plot: Nigerian Army Raids Abuja Residence Of Buhari's Former Petroleum Minister, Timipre Sylva, Arrests Brother

Some Nigerian Army personnel have raided the Abuja residence of a former governor and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, in connection with an alleged coup plot currently under investigation by the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), SaharaReporters can report.

Multiple security sources confirmed to SaharaReporters on Tuesday that the army raid occurred at Sylva’s home in the Maitama area of Abuja.

According to insiders, a “special military team” carried out the operation after intelligence linked the “former South-South governor” to secret meetings allegedly held with some of the detained military officers.

“Nigerian Army special team ransacked the home of Timipre Sylva, who is believed to have fled Nigeria,” one top source familiar with the development told SaharaReporters.

“He is the South-South former governor frequently mentioned in the case. His brother, named Paga, was picked up during the raid. The operation also extended to his Bayelsa residence.”

Another security insider said that while no official statement had been issued regarding the raid, the action was “not random” but “a direct response to intelligence linking certain political figures to the alleged plotters."

This development comes amid growing tension within the armed forces following SaharaReporters’ exclusive report that at least 16 senior military officers had been detained incommunicado by the DIA over an alleged coup plot.

The detained officers, drawn from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, have been held for over three weeks in an undisclosed Abuja facility under what sources described as “unusual and suspicious conditions.”

Family members told SaharaReporters they initially believed their relatives had been kidnapped, as there was no official communication from the military regarding their arrests.

“It’s been 18 days since those 16 officers were detained in an undisclosed location. At first, we thought our brother was kidnapped before finding out what transpired from his friend who works in the NSA office,” a family member had said.

Security analysts have questioned why the DIA, an intelligence agency under the Ministry of Defence, is spearheading the investigation instead of allowing each military service to handle its personnel internally, a move seen as “highly political.”

“If the military were truly conducting a disciplinary operation, over 10,000 cases could emerge. Why only 16 officers, and why hand them to the DIA?” one retired officer asked. “This smells of politics. There’s clearly more going on behind the scenes.”

Speculations are now rife that the alleged plot and subsequent arrests may have deeper political undertones, potentially involving some former office holders with ties to late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Sylva, a former governor of Bayelsa State and a close ally of late Buhari, served as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources between 2019 and 2023.

He was also the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the November 2023 Bayelsa election, which he lost to incumbent Governor Douye Diri of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

ROXETTES GROUP CLARIFIES MEDIA REPORTS ON RELOCATION OF OPERATIONS
Abuja, Nigeria. October 28th, 2025

The attention of ROXETTES GROUP has been drawn to media reports suggesting that the company has concluded plans to relocate all its industrial operations from the Southeast to Lagos.

While the Group is reviewing its nationwide business structure as part of a long-term expansion strategy, no decision has been made to relocate production
from the Southeast.

A Press Statement signed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ROXETTES GROUP, Archtect Doctor Kaycee Orji Kelechi says discussions were had during last Management meeting on possibly moving the Group's corporate headquarters to Lagos (which some members of the press were in attendance) to strengthen national integration and improve access to ports, investors, and export facilities.

This the Chief Executive Officer explained that it will not affect production, assembly, or processing in the Southeast.

"This aspect of our internal discussion appears to have been taken out of context, as our facilities in Obuaku City (Abia State) and Enugu State remain fully operational
and continue to employ hundreds of Nigerians.

Our incoming CNG Mother & Daughter Stations, with a 75Nmlday dehydration and compression capacity, are also scheduled to arrive at the Obuaku City facility by December 2025 to boost CNG production for internal use and industrial infrastructure development in the Southeast and Nigeria at large"

ROXETTES GROUP in the Press Statement commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia state for his outstanding leadership in improving security, infrastructure, and ease of doing business that brought the Company to Abia in the first place, which continues to strengthen investor confidence in the State.

"Our commitment to Abia and the Southeast remains firm. This review simply ensures our operations nationwide are better aligned with evolving infrastructure and future growth. ROXETTES GROUP reaffirms its dedication to job creation, local manufacturing, and sustainable mobility, as it continues to drive Nigeria's green industrialization through its automotive, paint, and renewable-energy divisions". The statement concluded.
Effective corporate communication is key. They had the media folks in attendance as indicated in the press release above yet they couldn't articulate their initial company plans properly to the media and public. This press release has better clarity than the one on the thread BELOW.

BusinessRe: Elon Musk Launches Grokipedia To Rival Wikipedia by Konquest: 12:20am On Oct 29, 2025
BlackViper:
Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, has launched Grokipedia, a new online encyclopedia designed to compete with Wikipedia, which the billionaire has long accused of political bias.

The site, branded version 0.1, went live on Monday with more than 885,000 articles — far fewer than Wikipedia’s seven million English-language entries, but already drawing global attention. Musk promised an upgraded version 1.0 would be “10X better,” declaring that Grokipedia already surpasses its established rival.

“The goal of Grok and Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” Musk wrote on X, pledging to avoid ideological slant.

Originally set for release in September, Grokipedia was delayed to “purge out the propaganda,” according to Musk. The entrepreneur, who has often criticised Wikipedia for being “controlled by far-left activists,” insists his platform will prioritise factual accuracy powered by AI and the generative assistant Grok.

A Grokipedia entry about Musk describes him as influencing debates on “technological progress, demographic decline, and institutional biases,” while noting “systemic left-leaning tilts” in media coverage.

By contrast, Wikipedia founded in 2001 and maintained by volunteers, maintains a “neutral point of view” and relies largely on donations to remain free.

Wikipedia traffic dips amid AI rise

In a related development, the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) reported an 8% decline in human pageviews on Wikipedia compared to last year. The organisation linked the drop to generative AI tools and evolving search habits that deliver information directly to users without visiting source pages.

Marshall Miller, WMF’s Senior Director of Product, said the change reflects how AI is reshaping online information discovery, noting that many search results now quote Wikipedia content without crediting or directing traffic back to the site.

The decline also followed updates to WMF’s bot detection system, which reclassified certain visits previously mistaken for human traffic.
https://chronicle.ng/elon-musk-grokipedia-rival-wikipedia/
Wikipedia has always been plagued by "article vandalisms" from propagandists and secessionists who hijacked it by re-editing article entries and use it to spread massive disinformation and historical revisionism.

Grokipedia.com has to serve as a BETTER avenue to STOP the spread of disinformation. If NOT then Elon shouldn't bother to waste his money on this project.
