God at work above other things. with him nothing is impossible.
glory be to God.
americans have value for lives. their rescue is second to non.
if that plane crashlanded in nigeria since yesterday, i bet u by now efforts to reach rescue teams will be meeting the woman voice in mtn saying the number u are trying to reach is either switched off or out of the coverage area.
the nigerian police will tell u that there is no official reports on the incident yet.
Great americans, i wish they will start slave trading again so that i will sale myself to them.
@ chidichris

I'm surprised that you could allow the thought of allowing yourself to be SOLD into slavery via the trans-Atlantic slave trade to crop up here! It isn't funny at all to me or to millions of  people (, including the 21st century descendants of Africans who were deported from Africa to the Americas, Europe and Asia against their will) who have read extensively about this despicable trade. I don't know what you were thinking off when you typed that "slave trade" sentence.

On the other hand I would like to re-emphasise that Nigerian pilots and Aeronautic engineers were also trained in top-notch aviation institutions around the world - especially the United States and could have done what the brave US Airways Capt. Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger and co-pilot Jeff Skiles did under the same conditions especially since the Hudson's waters were partly icey and frigid. If a crash had taken place in the Lagos Lagoon, conditions would definitely be different than the Hudson River situation.

Just a quick reminder. One of Chanchangi's Boeing 727 aircraft with registration number 5N BEU with about 81 persons, including the crew on board, crashed-landed at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday 29 December 2004 after a flight from Port Harcourt when the nose wheel gear failed to eject. The 81 people on board were uninjured and there was no major damage to the plane.

The technical failure forced the pilot, Captain Bode Olubiyi
, to declare an emergency.

Briefing newsmen on the development, the Media Assistant to the Director General of NCAA, Mr. Sam Adurogboye, said the Authority decided to ground the operations of all Boeing 727 on the airline's fleet to make sure they did not have a similar problem.

"We have suspended the operation of Chanchangi's 727 to check for the malfunctioning of the undercarriage. We want to find out if it affected other aircraft in the category," he said.

Adurogboye praised the pilot's experienced handling of the emergency situation without any damage to the aircraft or loss of life.

He added that the suspension, which does not have a time limit, would also enable NCAA to take a proper look at the documentation of the airline. Adurogboye said the runway 9L had been cleared of the aircraft, while the foam used to prevent the occurrence of fire following the emergency landing had be washed away for inward bound flight.

Captain Bode Olubiyi's expert landing of the plane on 29th December 2004 still remains fresh in my mind since the picture of the plane was splashed on the front pages of some top Nigerian newspapers like Punch and I still have that copy of The Punch filed away  in my archives. I expected the federal government to have given the pilot and his crew national awards for averting what would have led to the death of all those on board if the pilot and the ground rescue team at MMA had not worked together to bring down the plane on it's belly - yes the plane landed without tyres on the runway and I was very proud of the pilot then when I first saw the pictures.

We need to use out of the excess crude oil windfall to purchase modern Search-and-Rescue equipment like the giant crane that  was use to lift the US Airways plane from the Hudson River for example. So let us NOT be negative about our country but continue to work on our deficiencies - while learning from our failures!

I tried Googling the Internet for the pictures of the Chanchangi's Boeing 727 aircraft and Capt. Bode Olubiyi to upload in this thread site but couldn't get them.

Hi Soki and Happy 2009!

I've been to your blog and I'm impressed with this FBT Achievement thread as well. One thing I like about you is that you've shared your ideas with people you've never met. Gloaded, Dual Core and the rest of the FBT gang that we can't start to mention here have shown that NL is the Cadillac of Naija online discussion forums because of the quality of human resources here. smiley

I'd like to get back to you via YIM on a scheduled date - but I find it more convenient from about 10PM because of some prior daily obligations.

I've got some rock-solid info on FX trading that I want to pass on to you so that you can get up to speed and NOT lose much money like many beginners. This is not some rehashed free materials downloaded from the Internet but the REAL MEAT. So, let me know if you're usually online from 10PM and we can chat for two hours. smiley

Looking forward to your brief response!

Cheers! smiley

Causes of nymphomania
Those with nymphomania often experience compulsive behaviors, emotional detachment, and infidelity in relationships. If a person has nymphomania, he/she may not have a healthy libido and may also have an underlying medical condition.

The following are the organic causes of nymphomania:

Hyperthyroidism - if the thyroid gland is overactive, it can cause the sexual desires to become out of control.

Ovarian cysts - due to the growth being estrogenic, some ovarian cysts can cause hypersensitivity. This causes an increase in the estrogen boost libido, which may rise to unhealthy levels.

Parkinson’s medications - dopamine agonist medications can cause compulsive behaviors; it may cause problems that range from gambling to nymphomania. Almost 25 percent of people who are on this medication show some sort of impulsive behavior.

"My wartime experience with Anioma -Rev. Fr. Dr Kunirum Osia"

Different presuppositions inform these different tendencies. Because the majority of Anioma people speak dialects which sound like or are considered derivative of the Igbo language, it is assumed that they are “Igbo” regardless of the historic fact that Anioma comprises individuals from diverse origins.

For example, there are many communities in Anioma that are called “Oluku mi”. The language that the “Oluku mi” people speak is a form of Yoruba spoken in and around Owo in Ondo State. This point was confirmed by Banji Aluko, a journalist, who visited Ugbodu, one of the Oluku mi-speaking villages in Anioma. Mr. Aluko published his findings in Sunday Tribune of 24 October 2010. He felt as though he was in a Yoruba enclave because he understood the language that the people of Ugbodu spoke, although the intonation was slightly different. You can read the full details of Mr. Aluko’s encounter in the book I launched in March 22, 2012. I have that encounter as appendix 2 in the book. Similarly the people of Ebu in Anioma speak Igala pure and simple and not anything sounding like Igbo.

While language is important in delimiting cultural fields, it is not necessarily permanent because people can and have been able to master more than one language. Language is just one of many indices of a culture. Language is not enough to define who a people are.

There are people who speak the same language but have totally different identities. For example, because Americans speak English does not make them English; because Australians speak English does not make them English; because New Zealanders speak English does not make them English

Speaking further, the lawmaker-elect said the Ekiti State government did not need to waste scarce resources sending Ekiti unskilled youths to Europe or America for training. “Instead, they could be sent to Aba to learn how to make shoes and bags, and to Onitsha to master trade; while those who are qualified and competent will be given local contracts. This is the concept behind the so-called ‘stomach infrastructure’ and not just distributing gift items. Stomach infrastructure goes on after election. It is about helping the poor. It is about engaging them in what can feed them earn a living. That’s what Fayose wants to continue doing. He needs stability to achieve for no progress can be made during crisis. We have had enough crisis and we want peaqce in our state.”

Aba, well known for its handicrafts, is reputed for its handmade shoes and handbags. It is also a major manufacturing and trading centre in South-Eastern Nigeria, with its Ariaria International Market as the largest market in West Africa, seconded by the Onitsha Main Market.

And Onitsha is known for its trading, where the average traders are known to bring in at least six consignments of 40 tonnes (40-feet containers) of goods annually. Some of the major importers do more than 20 consignments of 40 tonnes of goods per year.

Interestingly, the multi-billion dollar economies of both commercial towns are dominated by craftsmen and merchants many of whom do not have university education, but rely on apprenticeship to cut their teeth in the trades before going on their own.
