Tastes change overtime. It's Olamide's absolute prerogative to choose what is agreeable to his "gastronomic" eco system.

For now, the lamb chops, cavier and other continental cuisine combos are what his taste buds prefer. When he gets tired of eating those continental cuisines down the road, he'll switch back to his Ibile cuisines such as the "iyan and emu" [pounded yams and palm wine]. Period.

Hard to believe, right? But this breathtaking desert landscape with its striking oasis is right here in Nigeria — not the Middle East. Welcome to Tulotulo Village, a hidden gem tucked away in the sands of Yobe State.

If properly developed and promoted, this site could become one of Nigeria’s most iconic tourist destinations — a world-class desert resort that attracts both local and international visitors. Imagine camel rides at sunset, luxury tents under the stars, desert festivals, and cultural experiences that rival the very best of Dubai.

Nigerians spend billions annually vacationing in foreign deserts and luxury oases — yet right here, we have the raw beauty, the mystery, and the potential. We just need vision, investment, and the will to turn it into gold.

🌍 Nigeria is blessed beyond measure — we just need to start treating our treasures like the goldmines they are.

Yobe could be earning millions of dollars yearly from tourism alone.
Let’s dream it. Let’s build it. Let’s own it.
Tulotulo Village... With the desert 🏜️ as a back drop.

Congratulations to Oba Rashidi Ladoja.

It's already known that he's NEXT in line based on Ibadan's Republic Kingship system which stems from the warrior and civilian lines. In effect, every male Ibadan indigene is eligible for ascension to the throne. With the Ibadan system, it very easy to know who's next in line to the throne.

It was based on this no nonsense warrior spirit and military ideals of Ibadan's Baloguns (Military Generals) and soldiers that the foreign Fula invaders and the collaborators were summarily defeated in 1840 by Balogun Oderinlo and his other war commanders at the famous "Battle of Osogbo" thereby altering the entire history of Yorubaland and Southern Nigeria. If the invaders had succeeded, Fula Emirates would have established in the entire Yorubaland moving on to conquer what is now major parts of Edo and Delta States.

I salute the Ibadan people once again.

The ongoing Ghana protests against crimes commited by arrested Ibos for years such as the recent bank armed robberies in Kumasi by 5 Ibo men, kidnappings for ransom, counterfeit money, counterfeit products, etc. The leading opposition leader in Ghana, Dr. Hassan Ayariga called out the Ibos on a live Ghana television program and even emphasized that the Yorubas and Hausas have lived peacefully in Ghana for centuries but the South East of Nigeria bad elements who arrived in recent history were the ones causing problems in Ghana.

That's outright disinformation on your part based on your limited knowledge. I'm NOT an adherent of Ifa but I have years of independent studies in the field of comparative religion and global religions.

Ifa or the Yoruba religion does NOT involve killing of people. That's disinformation on your part. The belief in the law of Karma is well known in Ifa cosmology and there are consequences for every action.

Those who do money rituals have NOTHING to do with traditional religion. A few years ago, I remember reading about Babalawos (Ifa Priests) who went from one media outlet to the other to educate them and the public about the disinformation from the Christians, Muslims, and the Nigerian home videos which all had a notorious habit of deliberately stereotyping or portraying traditional religion as filled with rituals. The Ifa Priests further said the Yoruba name for Ifa Priests is "Babalawo" who serves as an equivalent of a Buddhist Monk, Reverend or Imam, then a "Herbalist" is "Oonisegun" while those who engage in "rituals for evil" purposes are "Ologun Ika"

Whether you practise Ifa, Christianity, Islam or Eckankar, every career definitely has an expiry date since no star can reign forever irrespective of one's religious inclinations. It is called the cycle of life.

If that wasn't the case, we won't have had Christian gospel singers who used to be in the limelight but not anymore despite always praising Jesus constantly.

True spirituality involves the respect of other people's beliefs since there are many paths that lead to the same source but the average religious fundamentalist will never get it.
Succinctly stated.

We all have different states of consciousness and that MUST be respected. True awareness comes from respecting other people's beliefs as this planet was NEVER meant to be a one-size-fits all.

9ice, the Nigerian singer, says he once battled a mysterious illness that made him vomit blood for six months.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Nancy Isime Show, the ‘Gongo Aso’ hit maker recounted what he described as a spiritual attack that nearly ended his life around 2009 and 2010.

According to the singer, the illness defied medical treatment and only subsided after he turned to Ifa, the traditional Yoruba belief system.

9ice revealed that the incident became his turning point and led him to embrace traditional African spirituality. He added that he has since become a babaláwo, an Ifa priest.

“When I was vomiting blood for about six months in my own house. I had to leave my house. It happened in 2009/2010. It was not a medical condition,” he said.

“I am not a Christian or a Muslim, I am a Babalawo. I am an African. I am a traditionalist. The first time I experienced ifa was when I was vomiting blood. Someone referred me to ifa. I just wished that I had known ifa at the beginning.”

He referenced Fela Kuti, the late Afrobeat pioneer, as someone who was ahead of his time for embracing traditional practices despite being mocked.

“Fela used to go to Ogun and people were mocking him, but now, I understand,” he added.

The singer also hinted that he has encountered multiple spiritual battles over the course of his career.

9ice shot to fame in 2008 following the release of his album ‘Gongo Aso’.

The project earned him four awards at the 2009 Hip Hop World Awards, including Album of the Year and Artiste of the Year.

"Gongo Aso"... 9ice is now an Ifa Priest (or Babalawo). That's impressive because his style of music has always been traditional with a lot of jazzy beats fused right into it.

He follows in the path of established Babalawos such as the internationally respected Ifa Priest Professor Wande Abimbola who was a two-term Vice-Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile Ife and he was already a Babalawo before becoming a Vice-Chancellor.

Festus don hammer

Late President Buhari built that international terminal at Muritala Mohammed international airport Lagos at N106b and commissioned it on 22 may 2022

Now, president Tinubu is renovating the airport with N712b just two years and 3 months after
😲
You posted that Tribune newspaper article and didn't bother to read it properly.

The Terminal 1 (not Terminal 2 which Buhari constructed) of the Lagos International Airport is the one being REBUILT NOT renovated. Terminal 1 was ORIGINALLY opened for international passenger traffic in 1979, and has undergone steady poor maintainance ever since. That's totally bad for Nigeria's image with tourists, international investors, etc, flying into Nigeria.

Festus Keyamo CLEARLY emphasized in the article and video far BELOW that the Terminal 2 of the Lagos International Airport (MMIA) which the Buhari administration constructed wasn't properly situated and had some design flaws
hence the airlines refused to move there until he gave a major order.

Second, yesterday, Festus Keyamo was on Channels Television to further emphasize that the older Terminal 1 (which was built in 1979, and which I personally flew through for the first time in the early 1980s) will be torn down and totally REBUILT NOT renovated as the Tribune newspaper headline WRONGLY indicates. That was a very bad piece of journalism from Tribune and other media outlets claiming that it's gonna be renovated.

A lot of the posters attacking this REBUILDING of the MMIA project right from Page 1 are from the South East of Nigeria who are CLEARLY being spiteful, misinformed,
and pushing disinformation about plans to embezzle the money. That's outright defamation because right in the article and video BELOW, Festus, being a lawyer that I know, who pays attention to details gave a sequential breakdown of the project cost and the new building design can be seen in the video for Terminal 1 which will now be LARGER than it originally was. Terminal 2 will ALSO be expanded simultaneously with the new Terminal 1 construction. Period.

The Terminal 1 of the Lagos International Airport (MMIA) is being REBUILT and it would be completely stripped down NOT renovated as the title of this OP's post suggests! The original newspaper article and the video interview featuring Fetus Keyamo right BELOW CLEARLY state this FACT.

Second, the MMIA is the primary airport which receives more annual international passenger traffic than any other in Nigeria and it's a total disgrace that Terminal 1 is looking so run down like that after years of neglect since it was built and opened for passenger traffic in 1979. I remember flying through that Terminal 1 back in the day from the early 1980s and the facilities were OK. NOW is the time to rebuild it. Again, this is NOT a renovation as IRRESPONSIBLY suggested in the Tribune newspaper headline.

This is old news. We already knew this week's back. It's totally within the purview of any local government to rename any street or monument appropriately. Some people in that axis and other areas build houses and name streets after themselves WITHOUT official approval if the local authorities. If official approval isn't got, then expect to have renamings of streets down the line. It's just like in the case of Festac Town Extension when the FHA ordered illegal house construction to be stopped, the culprits continued building and later LIED that the FHA didn't inform them BUT unknown to them, the FHA already had secret video recordings of the warnings given years back which were released to the public to debunk the LIES!

Second, once again, the official name of that Bus Stop has ALWAYS been Second Pedro Bus Stop NOT Charly Boy (which was just used as an informal or alternate name) because Charles Oputa's rented house was near the 2nd Pedro Bus Stop. Is it too difficult for some of these journalists with media outlets such a as Vanguard and other simpletons who don't know the history of that area of Lagos State to understand?

Charly Boy was NOT even a landlord in that Gbagada axis of Lagos but ONLY rented that house from his then landlady and the duplex is visible when driving towards the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

Again, Second Pedro Bus Stop has ALWAYS been the real or officially approved name of the bus stop till 2025 when it was officially renamed to Olamide Badoo Bus Stop
. There are two bus stop namely First Pedro and Second Pedro Bus Stops along that route. Period.

BusinessRe: Dangote Daughters Take On Leadership Roles As Billionaire Tycoon Steps Back by Konquest: 2:15am On Aug 04, 2025
dre11:
Succession in business: Dangote daughters take on growing leadership roles as billionaire tycoon steps back

The three daughters of Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, are taking up more leadership roles in their father’s business conglomerate at a time the billionaire is stepping aside from the day-to-day running of some of his subsidiaries even as he busies himself with the refinery and petrochemical business.

Aliko Dangote, Nigeria’s most prominent businessman and Africa’s richest individual, has increasingly involved his three daughters in his business empire – a move seen as both a sign of succession planning and a commitment to family legacy.

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, estimated by Bloomberg to be worth $28.5bn as of 28 July, has quietly begun stepping back from boardroom duties.

In June, the 68-year-old businessman retired from the board of Dangote Sugar Refinery. Last Friday, he also stepped down as chairman of Dangote Cement, the crown jewel of his conglomerate, before the launch of his $20bn oil refinery.

He has been replaced at Dangote Cement by Emmanuel Ikazoboh, a former chair of Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, who joined the cement group in 2014.

Mariya Dangote

His eldest daughter, Mariya Dangote, has now joined the board of Dangote Cement. According to a company statement, her appointment is intended to help the business remain “agile and well positioned for long-term value creation”. Her “cross-functional expertise and understanding of strategic operations” were cited as key assets.

Mariya became executive director of operations at Dangote Sugar Refinery in 2022, after overseeing strategic planning, backward integration projects and digital transformation efforts since 2019. She had previously worked as a business strategy and risk specialist at Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), the group’s holding company, joining in 2016 shortly after completing an MBA at Coventry University in the UK.

She also serves on the board of Dangote Peugeot Automobiles Nigeria, which manufactures and markets Peugeot vehicles locally.

With Mariya’s appointment, two of Dangote’s daughters now sit on the board of Dangote Cement, Nigeria’s third-largest listed company, valued at N8.34trn ($5.4bn) as of 28 July.

Halima – Dangote Cement, DIL, NASCON, Family Office

Halima Dangote was appointed to the Dangote Cement board in early 2022, shortly after the death of her uncle, Sani Dangote, who also served as vice president of DIL. She has been a group executive director at DIL since 2019 and previously led a turnaround at Dangote Flour Mills, culminating in its sale to Singapore’s Olam Group.

Between 2014 and 2016, she was an executive director at NASCON Allied Industries, another DIL subsidiary, and continues to sit on its board in a non-executive capacity.

In 2023, Halima was tasked with establishing and running the Dangote Family Office in Dubai. She is also a trustee of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, the group’s philanthropic arm.

Fatima – DIL, NASCON

Fatima Dangote, the youngest of the three, is group executive director for commercial operations at DIL. She oversees commercial strategy, communications, procurement and administration across the group. Earlier roles included working as a technical specialist in the strategy unit and as an executive assistant to the director of business development and portfolio management.

Speaking to The Africa Report last year, she underlined Dangote Industries’ push to domesticate sugar production. “Nigeria is importing 90% of the sugar requirement. The homegrown sugar is still less than 10%,” she said. “However, with the aggressive implementation of the Backward Integration Programme, Dangote will be able to reduce its dependence on imports soon.”

She has sat on the board of NASCON Allied Industries since 2023 and previously served as executive director from 2016, during which she oversaw the company’s commercial sales, marketing, logistics and branding strategies.

My three daughters, Mariya, Halima and Fatima, are all senior executives at the group, and I can tell you for a fact that they are critical to the success of our business

Fatima is also closely involved with the Aliko Dangote Foundation and regularly appears alongside her father at public events. In a CNN interview last year, she described him as “extremely hardworking”.

Asked whether he was demanding as a parent, she replied: “A bit hard. I think he expects so much more from us compared to other people, and when you have a father like him, nothing but perfection is acceptable, then you have to work extra…”

Expansion continues across core sectors

While stepping back from the cement business, Dangote has signalled a renewed focus on his group’s energy and industrial ventures. The conglomerate has recently launched a $2.5bn fertiliser plant in Lagos and brought its 650,000-barrels-per-day refinery in 2024. Last November, it reopened its tomato processing plant in Kano.

In a statement, DIL said Dangote would now concentrate on the refinery, fertiliser and petrochemical operations, as well as on government relations.

Earlier this month, he announced plans to more than double output at the fertiliser
plant by 2028 and to boost refinery capacity to 700,000 barrels per day. He also revealed plans to develop what he described as “Nigeria’s largest deep-sea port” to support exports of the group’s energy and industrial products, adding that the new port would “become an anchor for our liquefied natural gas, fertilisers and fuels”.

Outside Nigeria, DIL has signed a $3bn agreement with the Ethiopian government to build a fertiliser plant in Gode, in the Somali Region.

‘They are critical to the success of our business’

At a 2019 event in Lagos, Dangote highlighted the contribution of his daughters to the group.

He credited his entrepreneurial outlook to his mother, whom he described as “a strong business-minded woman” who nurtured his ambition. “My three daughters, Mariya, Halima and Fatima, are all senior executives at the group, and I can tell you for a fact that they are critical to the success of our business,” he said.

A kidnap suspect identified as David Moses has confessed to the killing of a 55-year-old school nurse and caregiver, Mrs Chinyere Anaene, and a 14-month-old toddler, Nanenter Yese, at Clear Hope Foundation Academy, Dawaki, Abuja.

Moses, who was a security guard deployed to the school, said he was pushed to the crime by an alleged accomplice named Sunday Irimiya, who is at large.

He explained how the two of them lured Anaene and Yese out of the school and eventually killed them after collecting a N3m ransom.

Moses made the confession while answering questions from journalists at the Federal Capital Territory Police Command on Friday.

He said he and Sunday had planned to kidnap the victims for ransom, initially demanding N250m before settling for N3m.

“What brought me here is that I killed a child with a nurse in Clear Hope School on July 23. My friend and I demanded N250m ransom. We later settled for N3m, which we collected,” he said.

Moses said the incident later took a violent turn when Sunday stabbed him during a dispute.

"We had issues while sharing the ransom. My friend stabbed me with a knife, took the money, and ran away. I struggled and went to someone’s house and told the person what was going on. But I didn’t tell the full truth at that time because I was afraid the community might kill me immediately.

“I insisted on seeing the police so they could take me to the hospital and I could explain the whole story. When the police came, they took me to the hospital, and I told them the whole story after I received treatment,” he said.

Detailing how the school nurse was killed, Moses said she was lured into a trap under the guise of checking something in a toilet, where Sunday allegedly strangled her with a rope.

Moses said,”I went to call her from her class. I told her I wanted to show her something near the front toilet, where Sunday was hiding. As we were going, Sunday came out from behind and held the woman. He put a rope around her neck and started strangling her. She struggled but eventually became weak.”

He said the child was later abducted and killed at Sunday’s insistence.

Moses said, “He told me to run and bring the baby so we could also kill the baby. I said no, that the woman alone was enough. He insisted, saying that if we didn’t bring the baby, the ransom we demanded wouldn’t be enough. So, I went and brought the baby.”

When asked how many people he had killed or kidnapped before, he said,

“I have never done such a thing. This was the first time someone pushed me into any evil act.”

Probed further on his relationship with the woman and the baby, he said the nurse gave him N300 to buy food the day she was killed.

“The woman was nice to me. In fact, that very day, she gave me N300 to buy food. She had been giving me money to eat even before then.”

A representative of the security company that employed Moses, Zachariah Fiyinfoluwa, distanced himself from the crime, saying he was only informed of the disappearance of the nurse and child after the school principal raised the alarm.

“I don’t know anybody called Sunday. The person we posted to the school is David,” he said.

However, under questioning, Fiyinfoluwa admitted that the company failed to properly document Moses’ employment, including failing to keep his guarantor’s information.

“For us not to keep the record, I accept that it’s our fault,” he said.

When pressed further on the company’s responsibility, especially for the safety of persons within the premises, Fiyinfoluwa admitted that supervisors were supposed to routinely visit deployment sites but did not confirm if such oversight occurred at Clear Hope School.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao Adewale, in an interview with journalists, said the victims were reported missing on July 23, 2025, by the school the same day.

He said a ransom of N250m was demanded via the caregiver’s phone the same day.

The CP said following an investigation, police operatives arrested Moses, who later confessed to conspiring with his friend, Sunday Irimiya — currently at large — to carry out the crime.

He said the police had also arrested the school principal, two other security guards, and the Chief Security Officer of the private security company that deployed Moses to the school.

While you are correct in a way, you can't buy experience. There's something he knows that they will never be able to get no matter the amount of prompts they write. It's the experience and ingenuity that comes from a human being. I laugh when I see this. If you are not intelligent enough, you can get scared, what will happen is that when they run into trouble, which they eventually will run into, hid price will be higher. AI was deliberately formed to have mistakes and it's that human experience that can see the mistakes. Every technology eventually creates more jobs and new human jobs. You either step up or step aside. Skills will evolve which will be the new demand in a few years from now and those who don't have the basic knowledge can't function.

Someone used the simple example of a calculator. If you never went to school, you can add 5+5 but he who went to school knows some little tricks to do to get his results, which is why we then had advanced calculators. Everyone can use a calculator but not everyone knows what the functions are for.
Well said.

AI shouldn't be the future.

A few years from now the only jobs available will be the jobs we look down on now.
Plumbers, electricians, carpenters, mechanic s etc will be the only people with jobs.
Drivers are already losing their jobs, AI will do better at teaching students in class, AI is diagnosing illness faster and more accurate than humans which means doctors are going also, lawyers should be ready to loss their jobs too.

Personal assistants are becoming old story all thanks to AI...

Una go learn.

Farmers will be the biggest gainers in all these.

I was amazed when I told ChatGPT to summarise a 5000 character document to just 500 characters and it did so in seconds and the summary captured ALL the salient points in the document.
Indeed, that's a fact.

The vast array of things this AI tool can easily do depending on the prompts used is mind-blowing. This AI literally spits out codes or does your book keeping in seconds. Every sphere of human endeavor or career path is NOT spared! This is disruptive innovation in full effects.

Executives are stumbling over themselves to replace pesky and expensive human labor with AI.

In the latest instance, the billionaire cofounder and CEO of software giant Atlassian Mike Cannon-Brookes announced that 150 people would be laid off, with some jobs being replaced with AI tech, outlets including Sky News report.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the cuts affect customer service roles exposed to AI.

Cannon-Brookes made the announcement over a video call from his home. Affected staffers are expected to be paid for the next six months, softening the blow a little.

It's a sign of the times, though, as executives are looking to automate vast swathes of the job market with the help of AI. The tech industry, in particular, has been rocked by mass layoffs for years now as companies double down on multibillion-dollar investments in AI data center buildouts and poaching high-profile talent from their competitors.

The news comes after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman warned that entire job categories — including the customer support roles that took a hit at Atlassian — could soon be wiped out by AI.

"Now you call one of these things and AI answers," Altman told Federal Reserve vice-chair for supervision Michelle Bowman during a recent appearance. "It’s like a super-smart, capable person. There’s no phone tree, there’s no transfers. It can do everything that any customer support agent at that company could do."

Meanwhile, Atlassian's other billionaire cofounder, Scott Farquhar, defended the layoffs, telling reporters today that Australia's copyright laws should be revised so AI companies had free rein to mine data unobstructed.

"If we make call centre staff more productive, people aren’t going to call more [and] we’ll probably need less call centre staff," Farqhuar said, as quoted by the Herald. "Some parts of our economy will grow significantly as AI makes them more productive, and some parts of our economy will shrink as we do that."

In a company blog post a spokesperson highlighted to the newspaper, Atlassian pointed to its code of ethics, justifying its mass layoffs.

"Our value of ‘Build with Heart and Balance’ is about making the hard, right decisions with passion, empathy, and care," the blog post reads.

Cannon-Brookes already came under fire earlier this year after buying a personal jet for upwards of $75 million — despite his climate advocacy and push for solar energy, Sky News reports.

"I’m not denying I have a deep internal conflict on this," he wrote in a LinkedIn post back in March, arguing he needed his plane for "personal security" reasons.

OOOKEWALE:
OBI and lies!

Abraham Lincoln did not serve just one term—he was elected to a second term but did not complete it due to his assassination.

Here’s a breakdown of his presidency:

First Term: March 4, 1861 – March 4, 1865

Second Term: March 4, 1865 – April 15, 1865 (assassinated by John Wilkes Booth)

Lincoln won re-election in 1864 (during the Civil War) and began his second term in March 1865, but he was killed just six weeks later. His vice president, Andrew Johnson, succeeded him and served the remainder of his term.

So, while Lincoln was elected to two terms, he only served one full term plus a small portion of his second term.
Absolutely brilliant summations.

The two-terns in office is EXACTLY what Governor Soludo emphasized on when he took a swipe at Anambra Gubernatorial aspirant and politician at that political rally as shown in that video.

Besides, just right BELOW is the famous NL thread of February 14, 2012 showing many Anambra State indigenes criticizing Obi for his total inneficiences and misgovernance yet he spent 8 years as the Governor of that same State ONLY for his kinsmen to start overhyping him like a "messiah" 10 years later forgetting that a digital trail of incriminating EVIDENCE from the exist on multiple online platforms.
