jimmyolasun: So if you spend 5k to cook at home, you finish the food at a go? I am not understanding this..
Because I know whenever I eat out, I spend nothing less than 3500 to 4k eating Amala and ogunfe but whenever I have someone come cook for me, I spend at least 6-10k to get the dishes ready and it takes me nothing less than 3-5 days before I finish it.
So tell me how...
This thread has a lot of contradictory comments. It would have been BETTER for each poster to state his or her location. Location determines how expensive or cheap food is.
Someone mention right on Page 1 about eating cheaper outside in Jos and that makes sense because of location. But eating out in the big Southern cities such as Lagos, PH, etc, would be more expensive. Even in Lagos State, the cost of eating out on Lagos Mainland is relatively cheaper than eating on Ikoyi Island, Victoria Island or the Lekki Peninsula areas of Lekki phase 1 where groceries and more are expensive because of the silly perception that the locations are upscale.
#1500 prepared this chicken egusi soup this afternoon. If you want to eat this food outside it will cost nothing less than #500 And i still have remainder in the pot.
adenigga: The Lagos State Government has said it is working to introduce monthly and quarterly rent payment options as part of efforts to reduce the financial pressure on residents, especially low-income earners.
The state Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, disclosed this on Tuesday during the 2025 Ministerial Press Briefing to mark Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second year in office.
Akinderu-Fatai said the planned policy is a continuation of the state’s drive to make housing more accessible and affordable.
He recalled the government’s earlier rent-to-own scheme, which allows beneficiaries to make a five per cent initial payment and spread the balance over 10 years.
“That initiative was well-received, and its success encouraged us to explore new ways to reduce the pressure of yearly rent payment,” he said.
He noted that many residents find annual rent payments difficult and that the new system is expected to provide relief.
“We believe that monthly or quarterly payment options will give people more breathing space and reduce the stress associated with sourcing lump sums,” he added.
He added that the government is currently consulting with landlords, developers, and other stakeholders to resolve potential challenges related to enforcement and payment systems before rolling out the initiative.
“Of course, there are issues to resolve — things like landlord cooperation, payment tracking, and enforcement. But discussions are ongoing, and we are listening to all sides,” he said.
He revealed that a pilot phase is being planned in selected areas of the state.
adenigga: A bill to amend the Electoral Act 2022 to make voting compulsory for Nigerians of voting age has passed second reading in the House of Representatives.
The proposed legislation was sponsored by the Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas, and Daniel Ago.
Leading the debate during plenary on Thursday, Ago said the bill aimed to encourage citizens’ participation in the electoral process, noting that voter apathy during elections would be addressed if the bill scales legislative scrutiny.
Although the bill passed second reading, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party from Akwa Ibom State, Mark Esset, said enacting a law to make voting compulsory is not enough to sanitise the electoral system.
“Let us not put something on nothing. If citizens have lost confidence in the electoral system, there is a lot of work to be done.
“Many Nigerians do not vote during elections because they believe that their votes will not count. If we must make a law to make voting compulsory, we must also make another one to make their votes count,” he said.
zero8zero: I commend His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for the recent resolution of Nigeria’s outstanding debt to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
This significant accomplishment represents a substantial step towards strengthening Nigeria’s economic foundation and securing a more prosperous future for its citizens.
The successful negotiation and apparent settlement of this longstanding debt issue is expected to yield numerous positive outcomes.
It will not only contribute significantly to domestic economic growth and development, fostering job creation and attracting foreign investment, but will also enhance Nigeria’s credibility and standing within the international financial community.
This improved standing will undoubtedly unlock further opportunities for economic collaboration and development partnerships.
The President’s decisive action in addressing this complex challenge demonstrates strong leadership and a commitment to sustainable economic progress.
The anticipated positive repercussions on the quality of life for all Nigerians are significant and highly commendable.
We eagerly anticipate witnessing the positive transformations this achievement will bring across various sectors of Nigerian society.

1. Highly profitable crop-Cassava is more profitable than maize. The gross margins per hector of Cassava is three times higher than that of maize.
2. Ready Market. Cassava is very easy to sell. The domestic market is huge. Cassava is also used for industrial purposes like in baking, making of cardboards, packaging materials, beer, starch, glue, baking and many more. Therefore, the market for both cassava chips and flour is huge.
3. Cassava is drought resistant compared to maize, making it a good for household and national food security.
4. Cassava is easy to store. The crop can be harvested only as needs arise. The surplus can be stored underground thereby resulting in low post harvest losses.
5. The crop is disease resistant. No need for insecticides, thus cheaper and easy to manage.
6. Can grow almost everywhere, regardless of the soil fertility.
7. Multiple uses. All parts of the plant are useful. Leaves can be used for vegetables, stems are used for planting, roots or tubers can be used to make flour, chips, or can be eaten raw.
8. Widely consumed in many African regions countries. Staple food in many regions.
9. Can be processed using the most basic or natural methods like just socking, sun drying and pounding.
10. Huge demand for both domestic and industrial use.
11. Can be inter-cropped with other crops like millet, groundnuts and beans.
12. Does not require any chemical fertilizers, making it cheaper to grow.
13. Rich source of starch and carbohydrates, making it a good security crop.
14. Complementarity. Cassava can be consumed together or mixed with other crops. Tastes super with groundnuts, beans. Cassava floor mixed with maize meal tastes better.
15. Huge potential for commercialisation. Cassava can easily or will soon be a commercial crop given its multiple industrial uses like the making of starch, flour, beer etc.

SmartPolician: What can typically move a Nigerian again? The same country that has a former drug lord as its president and nobody has a problem with that?
What can the eye see to cry blood? Mr. Abure, please go ahead and expose anyone you want to expose. Peter Obi is not a saint, but he's much better than these evil men running this country today.
You've been particular WARNED severally in the very recent past that even in 1993 and as of February 2003, the United States Government stated very CLEARLY through Michael H. Bonner their then Legal Attache in the United States Consulate in Lagos, Nigeria that the then Governor 'Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos State has NEVER been a "drug baron" or "former drug lord" like you and your fellow paid ipob troll farm members and young ipob sympathizers keep posting here online. Michael H. Bonner, the then U.S. Consulate Legal Attache stated CLEARLY in the official document attached BELOW in February 2003 that there is NO record in the FBI "National Crime Information Center" or NCIC which is the central database of all arrested and convicted criminals in the entire United States that contains the now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's name as a convicted people or criminal.
Whatever consequences you get after this last warnings... YOU will have yourself to blame for deliberately spreading the WORSE kind of disinformation ever against a man who did you Ibos NO wrong other than the fact that he contested an election in which your so-called candidate lost overall and came 3rd! Period.
Gossipblogger: Nollywood veteran actor Richard Mofe Damijo yesterday shared a rare photo of his dad, while celebrating the fathers day, and they sure has a resemblance, he shared the photo and caotioned:

MoneyCentral has been able to identify 12 Nigeria listed companies on the stock exchange (NGX) worth a billion dollar or more in market capitalization.
The firms are diverse and cut across various sectors including: Telecommunications, Industrial Goods, Oil and Gas, Banking and Finance, Consumer Goods and Energy.
The firms with listing on the stock exchange in Lagos Nigeria have market capitalization as at 15th May 2025 of: Airtel Africa with market capitalization of $4.93 billion (N7.9 trillion), Dangote Cement $4.64 billion (N7.42 trillion), BUA Foods $4.23 billion (N6.77 trillion), MTN Nigeria $3.64 billion (N5.83 trillion), Seplat Energy $2.05 billion (N3.289 trillion), Geregu Power $1.78 billion (N2.854 trillion).
Others Nigeria billion dollar companies are: BUA Cement $1.72 billion (N2.753 trillion), Transcorp Power $1.54 billon (N2.464 trillion), Guaranty Trust Holding Company GTCO $1.45 billion (N2.32 trillion), Aradel $1.3 billion (N2.08 trillion), Zenith Bank $1.24 billion (N1.992 trillion) and Nigerian Breweries $1.065 billion (N1.704 trillion).
An exchange rate of USD1 to NGN1,600 was used for the conversion from naira to dollar (see chart below).
An earlier report by Business Insider Africa had erroneously stated that there was only one Nigerian company valued at $1 billion.
The report quoting Visual Capitalist, said there are 5,522 publicly listed firms globally valued at $1 billion or more.
“The United States leads with a market capitalization of $60.1 trillion and accounts for 1,873 billion-dollar companies—commanding 49% of the global market share,” it said.
The report however conflates private companies (Unicorns) with public ones when it came to Africa.
Even at that Nigeria is known to have several Unicorns (private companies worth $1bn or more) including Flutterwave, Paystack, Interswitch and MoniePoint among others.
The Nigeria Stock Exchange (NGX) has an equity market capitalization of $41.9 billion and has risen 5.96% year-to-date.
larryUG: Lol. On the surface it seems that the report is wrong, but it is not. You are right that Ethiopian airlines is worth over a billion dollars, but it is wholly owned by the Ethiopian government and hence not listed on the Ethiopian Stock exchange, and for that same reason, NNPC limited which would have ordinarily made the list, will not be considered because even though it is now and a LLC, it is still owned by the government. It is not a privately owned company.
MTN is listed in Nigeria, but majority of its Nigerian subsidiary shares is owned by the parent company listed in SA, hence it will fall under the domiciliation of SA, not Nigeria. Dangote is that one company that was listed. The report is correct. Individually owned companies like Globacom will not be considered for same reason I mentioned above because it is not listed on the NSE.
Succinctly stated.
Out of all the posters right from Page 1, you're the ONLY one who made the MOST sense and understood the subject matter as stated by that continental business publication.
A vast number of these posters (mostly younger ones) on NL and largely online annoyingly do NOT read properly and come online to engage in unnecessary sophistry and showoffs when they know absolutely NOTHING about the subject matter at hand. They even go further to using so-called AI like the on that is at experimental stage from Google which clearly warns that the results may not be accurate.
zero8zero: The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, sharing images of the Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway being built by Federal Government.
Onanuga, through his verified X handle on Tuesday, shared fresh photos highlighting the progress of the major railway development, which is currently under construction.
In his update, he also noted that the government is not only focusing on the rail line itself but is also constructing complementary infrastructure such as overhead bridges and access roads.
He revealed that the contractors are targeting a completion date of December 2026.
His post reads in part:
“Work continues on the Kano-Jigawa-Katsina-Maradi railway. Access roads and overhead bridges are included. Contractors aim to finish by December 2026.”
However, the former Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Abdulateef Jakande was born on Lagos Island BUT both his parents are ORIGINALLY from Omu-Aran in Kwara State. Lateef Jakande NEVER denied his Yoruba roots in Kwara State in 1979 and when Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, lifted Jakande's hand as the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) gubernatorial candidate alongside his Deputy Alhaji Jafojo who is a pure indigene of Lagos State and they both won and even got re-elected in 1983, NOBODY raised any fuss due to the FACT that two Muslims were the Governor and Deputy Governor.
Those were interesting times for those of us who were alive and witnessed those political events back in the late 1970s right into the 1980s.
Obafemi Hamzat's father who later ascended the throne of his ancestors as an Oba in his paternal town in Ogun State was the Lagos State Commissioner of Works and he was in charge of the Lagos Metroline project which was cancelled by the Military government of Gbolahan Mudashiru who took responsibility for the Lagos Metroline cancelation in a 1985 Concord Magazine interview that I still have in my home library archives.
It's obvious that Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat's mother is an Ijebu woman an indigene of Ikorodu just like Abike Dabiri-Erewa as gleaned from the article link above so, it would NOT be out of place for him to contest based off of his maternal roots and his father's political service to Lagos State in the past.
Former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode's father is originally from a royal family in Ilajeland in Ondo State and served as an academic after being transfered as a teacher to Epe by the Old Western Region administration. Epe is where Akinwunmi was born and when his father passed away, his body was taken back according to tradition to his ancestral homeland in Ilajeland being an "Omo Oba" or Prince of his Yoruba community in Ondo State.
The Lagos West requires a strong-willed and creative candidate that can carry people along and continue with the visionary Lagos State Master Plan originally laid by now President Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was the Governor of Lagos State and his dynamic team. This Lagos State Master Plan is what has led to the development of the Lekki Free Trade Zone (LFTZ), the Lekki Deep Sea Port, the location of the Dangote Petrochemical Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, and several companies in the LFTZ, LASTMA, LAMATA, etc. From the cerebral lawyer (and former Chef of Staff to the then Governor Tinubu) Babatunde Fasola, to the Chartered Accountant, Akinwunmi Ambode, to Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu an investment banker and technocrat (who rose to the senior position of a bank treasurer) who are ALL proteges of President Tinubu who has a near-accurate knack for identifying technocrats or people to work with him to deliver on the Lagos Master Plan contents which is a continuous developmental journey. There's still a lot of inneficiences to fix though due to population surge and this is where decentralized systems of government come in to relieve the pressures on infrastructure on major cities such as Lagos, Ibadan, PH, the FCT, Kano, etc, from the surge of economic migrants from other states who should be maximizing their own resources aided by strong security architecture.
Kosiso12: I’ll Expose Them – Labour Party Chairman Abure Hits at Obi, Others | #Politicsnigeria
National Chairman of the Labour Party, Julius Abure, has fired back at critics within the party, including 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi and Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, over recent allegations of corruption and mismanagement.
Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja, Abure challenged his opponents to prove they gave him or the party any money during the 2023 elections. He denied ever receiving funds for personal use and warned that if provoked further, he would reveal damaging details about them.
“I want to challenge all of them. I saw some of them on television talking about corruption. Let any of them from Peter Obi down come forward and publicly declare what they personally gave to me or the party,” he said.
“Who brought the money? Who was it given to? Where was it sent? I challenge them today to come out boldly with or without evidence and say it. Otherwise, let them forever remain silent.”
Abure said he had kept silent until now in the interest of peace within the party. But he declared that the time for silence was over.
“As a leader, I kept quiet thinking they were making mistakes and would eventually come around.
“When issues about election agents and funds came up, I said nothing because I believed I should accept the good, the bad, and the ugly within our fold.
“But now that some have crossed the line, I have no choice. If they provoke me further, I will reveal everything. When I open my mouth, they will stink like rotten eggs no one wants to touch.”
He also announced plans to hold a world press conference to address the growing internal crisis in the party.
Turning to Governor Alex Otti, Abure accused him of not contributing financially to the party during the elections.
“That governor who is jumping like a cricket from one point to another, we did not collect a dime from him. If he gave money to anyone, let him come forward and say so,” he said.
“When we met at Transcorp, he asked me, ‘Chairman, what do I do for you?’ I told him, ‘Nothing. Use your money for your campaign.’”
This dude Julius Abure cracked me up a bit in his use of "strong, pictorial metaphors" in the bolded sections to describe those his fellow Labor Party people he's referring to here.
He's at liberty to NOT cover up anything he knows but I doubt he would as that could cascade further down and hit him too when others begin to confess.
SonofDevil: Some parts of Enugu, capital of Enugu State have become safe haven for hungry thieves as they now steal boiling soups on fire.
Apart from boiling soups, our investigations revealed that the robbers also steal pots of rice, beans, among others from their owners.
Our investigations further revealed that the robbers stole a pot of soup that was still on fire from the owner at Obiagu in Ogui New Layout recently when the owner went inside the house to pick something.
“My brother, my name is Mrs Ijeomah. We are residing at Ama Awusa in Obiagu. I was cooking a pot of soup that my children and I will eat in the evening. The soup was almost done but I felt the salt was not enough so I decided to get more salt from the house.
“Immediately I went inside the house, I heard a noise and I did not believe that somebody would even think of stealing my pot of soup. The place we are residing is not fenced so it is porous. When I went out, I was surprised to notice that my pot of soup on fire was no more.
“I felt bad about it because my children were waiting for the soup to be done so that they could eat but unfortunately we lost the whole pot of soup to a greedy robber. If the person had told me, I would have given some portions of the soup to him to eat. Because of that, my children went to bed hungry,” she lamented.
Another victim, who spoke to our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the same group of thieves stole her pot of soup while it was boiling.
“The level of poverty is alarming. How can somebody come to my house and carry my pot of soup while on fire. This is not a good development at all. I heard that they have been doing this kind of thing for sometime now. I don’t go out again whenever I’m cooking until I get the pot down,” she stated.
It was gathered that apart from stealing of soups, some people are now breaking into foodstuff shops to steal food items in some areas in the state.
adenigga: The Federal Government has approved two major energy projects in Oyo State aimed at fortifying the national grid and addressing persistent power challenges.
A statement by Bolaji Tunji, the media aide to the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, on Wednesday, disclosed that the decisions, ratified during Monday’s Federal Executive Council meeting, include reviving and concessioning the decades-old Ikere Gorge Hydropower Plant and constructing a high-capacity new substation in Ibadan, signalling a push to modernise infrastructure and boost electricity access.
The new substation to be located in Lalupon/Ejioku axis of Lagelu Local Government Area will boost power supply to Iwo road, Monatan, Olodo, and the adjoining areas in Ibadan.
Originally launched in 1979 under the military regime of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and operationalised in 1980 during President Shehu Shagari’s tenure, the Ikere Gorge Hydropower Plant will now undergo a significant upgrade.
Adelabu revealed that the facility’s capacity will expand from 6MW to 20MW under a 30-year public-private partnership concession.
“The project, initially stalled due to a preferred bidder’s failure to finalise terms, was re-concessioned to a reserve contractor, Messrs Quaint Power and Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, after the original offer lapsed,” the statement added.
Adelabu emphasised that the revitalised plant will prioritise energy access for Oyo’s Oke Ogun communities, with an upwardly revised concession fee ensuring long-term viability.
Meanwhile, the government was said to have also approved the construction of a 2 x 60MVA, 132/33KV substation in Lalupon/Ejioku in Lagelu Local Government Area of the state, to alleviate pressure on the grid and improve energy supply.
“The substation, part of the Siemens-backed Presidential Power Initiative, is to be funded directly by the Federal Ministry of Power and aims to resolve frequent outages and grid instability plaguing the state capital,” the statement added.
Adelabu noted that the infrastructure will serve as a backbone for strategic investments, enhance service delivery, and align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for sustainable energy.
“The project includes upgrades to the 60-year-old 330KV Ayede substation and the construction of a new Asejire 330KV substation, further stabilising the grid for over 5 million residents. Completion is estimated at 24 months.
“Both initiatives are expected to catalyse socio-economic growth by improving power reliability for households, small businesses, industry, educational and health institutions,” it was added.
Adelabu underscored their role in resolving decades-old infrastructure gaps, stating that these interventions will directly uplift livelihoods, attract industries, and position Oyo State as a model for Nigeria’s energy transition.
I'm reading this article for the first time and this is another heart-warming news from out of Nigeria.
The Ikere Gorge Hydro Dam in Oyo State is a Federal Government project that was initiated 44 years ago in 1981 by the Civilian administration of former President Shehu Shagari when I was younger in age and it was unkindly abandoned when the notorious corrupt Military governments came in after spending millions of funds with uninstalled turbines imported from Germany rotting away at the dam site! I've NEVER seen that kind of waste of public funds on a beneficial electricity, drinkable water and dry-seasin irrigation project of that nature in my entire life tbh!
This is one of the low-hanging fruits I've been emphasizing on that Buhari and now President Tinubu completes for the benefit of folks in Nigeria. If Tinubu's Government doesn't do it NOW, my fear is that it will take decades for anyone to approve the completion.
All abandoned Federal projects right from the early 1980s MUST be completed FIRST before starting new ones where possible. It's highly embarrassing that Shehu Shagari started a major hydro and irrigation dam project 44 years ago in 1981 and it was abandoned. President Olusegun Obasanjo from Ogun State did NOT even deem it fit to complete that Oyo State Ikere Gorge Hydro Dam project despite the OBJ-led Federal Government paying $18 billion of Nigeria's money to secure full debt pardons from the Paris and London club! If President Bola Tinubu's Government finishes this dam project, he WILL definitely be rated highly in my estimation and that of others forever because it would boost electricity supply, drinkable water supply to as far as Lagos, and irrigation-based agriculture in the dry season. That was the original plan by former President Shehu Shagari a man from Sokoto State.
Kudos to the Federal Government in Nigeria on this.
Glimpsetv: A Nigerian lady who recently returned from the United States has shared five things she no longer needs to do herself since relocating to Lagos, Nigeria.
According to her, the first major change is that she no longer has to drive, as she now has a personal driver.
Secondly, she doesn’t cook anymore, thanks to the availability of organic food vendors and skilled cooks. She either orders food or hires someone to cook for her whenever she wants.
Thirdly, she revealed that she now has a personal assistant, so she no longer has to run errands on her own. Fourth, she no longer needs to clean, as she has hired a cleaner who comes in daily to handle all the cleaning.
Lastly, she said she doesn’t have to take down her braids or do her own hair anymore, as there are always people available to help her with haircare.
The viral video has sparked mixed reactions on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). While some admire her lifestyle, others believe only the wealthy can enjoy such luxuries in Nigeria.

First class graduate, youngest HOD in the building department over 5 years ago. Had a project close to his house around last year November and invited him to come see a cantilever we were trying to project and he came and lectured I and my colleagues intensively with joy and laughter and fun. That accident happened on Easter Thursday or Friday along ore-benin express way abi ijebu ode-ore. Only three persons survived on their bus.
Man nor dey enter public transport on a norms oo. Just because of the aviation whatever that had sir peace cancel their flight and he desperately wanted to be home to celebrate Easter with his young family.... RIP sir...
At just 39 years of age, this young man is younger than the youngest of my biological siblings who is himself a PhD holder. There is something "eerie" about his passing away leaving ONLY 3 survivors in thst vehicle accident on the major Lagos-Benin Expressway.
I once had a near-fatal accident (just after Ijebu-Ode while driving from Lagos on that same Lagos-Benin Expressway back in the late 1990s) while in Nigeria with a back tyre-blow out just after leaving a bad section of the expressway. The mentally alert driver was very professional and did NOT press the speeding vehicle break pedal (otherwise the fast-moving vehicle would have instantly somersaulted). When the vehicle finally came to a halt by itself (after swaying dangerously for a bit), the back tyre was completely torn to shreds and the rim became very hot with the distinct smell of burned rubber in the air! This is one of the ways through which fatal accidents occur regularly.
The academic community of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka, has once again been thrown into mourning following the tragic death of one of the youngest associate professors in the University, Associate Professor (Builder) Fidelis Okechukwu Ezeokoli, a senior lecturer in the Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, who also served as a former Head of Department.
News of his sudden death sent shockwaves across the institution and the broader academic landscape, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, students, friends, and loved ones, who described him as a brilliant academic, a dedicated teacher, a humble personality, and an irreplaceable loss to the university.
According to multiple reports, the 39-year-old respected scholar and proud son of Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, died in a fatal motor accident at his prime and while expectations were ripe for his next promotion. Though the full circumstances surrounding the accident remain sketchy, sources confirmed it was a road crash that claimed his life in what many have described as a painful and untimely death.
Described by many as a rising star in academia and an impactful teacher who was passionate about mentoring young professionals in the field of Building Technology, Associate Prof. Ezeokoli’s death has left a deep vacuum in the department, where he had served with distinction.
In a condolence message currently trending on social media, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences expressed their grief over the irreplaceable loss, stating: “The Department of Building, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, sadly announces the sudden passing of her staff, senior lecturer, young academia, brother and friend, Associate Prof. (Bldr) Fidelis Okechukwu Ezeokoli, who was the former HOD of the Department. He died through a motor accident. Your good deeds will forever be remembered. Rest in peace.”
In addition to being a revered lecturer, Associate Professor Ezeokoli was also said to be known for his active involvement in professional and community development activities and had remained a strong voice in the Built Environment sector in Nigeria.
The university community, alumni, professional colleagues, and the people of Ekwulobia have continued to express condolences to the bereaved family and the Department of Building Technology, describing his death as a huge loss to humanity, the academic world, and the built environment.
Meanwhile, in a burial poster shared on social media, the family of the deceased, led by Mr. Ifeanyi Celestine Ezeokoli, has officially announced funeral arrangements for the late scholar, whose remains will be committed to mother earth on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
According to the funeral poster released over the weekend by the family, a Vigil Mass will be held in his honour on Friday, May 30, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the family compound in Ula, Ekwulobia.
It added that the lying-in-state and Requiem Mass will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the same venue, beginning from 8:00 a.m., with interment immediately after the Mass; while a thanksgiving mass will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart Catholic Church, Ula, Ekwulobia, at 9:00 a.m.
