If a commission like this is purported to spend this amount on fb, then the presidency is spending quite a fortune on its fb page secluded from public knowledge. |

The fact is, our public officials can not be trusted especially with funds. While we are made to believe this record, individual investigation is a necessity in order to ascertain the true position of things. |

mxxpunkxx: the percentile figure doesn't count . . its d highest percentage that counts . . .it could even be 3% . . so long as the remaining 97% is split among several share-holders and none of them comes close to 3%, then the holder of the 3% has more rights to the company when it comes to decision-making, u get ma drift? Lolamida: The 5% is a factor, if not the court wouldn't have ruled in their favour. Combined shares will surely giv you 95%,individual shares could be less than 5%. And that will make econet the highest shareholder. This is from another point of view. @mxxpunkxx and Lola, Thanks folks for the insight, I got your drift. The scenario of 5% shares of Econet as the highest shareholder is not factual. Until this is laid on the table for all to see, the court has not remedied the situation by ruling on outright reversal to econet. To me that decision is incongrous. |

This is ludicrous! The credibility of Obongship as a cultural prestige and heritage of the Efiks has been embarrassingly lampooned. Why do we derive so much pleasure in doing the last thing first? I have it on good authority that Obongship is hereditary. It stays within a lineage. That being said, how did Calabar Obongship find it way to be PDPically and ACNically maneuvered? True, Christianity has seriously downplayed the powers of the forefathers and gods hence someone would have been struck dead. SMH |

Of course Airtel will appeal this judgement. The unstability of Airtel as a company discourages reasonable investment from potential investors. Did I miss something? 5% shares enough to reverse Airtel to Econet? What happens to the 95% shares of other shareholders? This is ludicrous. Is it not expedient for the court to ask Airtel to Pay Econet the 5% shares (with a percentage interest)? To me this judgement can not stand. It is quite obvious Airtel shall win the the appeal |

aasog1: I will quote from the last I did in 2009.
1. Road Side Property along Winner, Otta Zone = I have no idea how much this cost my client. And this was 2 plots. 2. Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN Approval and Site Registration: #1,200,000 3. Approved Drawing for Filling Station: #850,000 4. Construction Cost: (This was a 6 Nozzle Station: 4: Petrol, 1: Kerosene, 1: Diesel): #30,000,000 5. My engineering firm charged: #3,100,000 for the entire project.
We are tlaking roughly #35,000,000.00 naira. NB: Minus the road side land. This always seems to sometimes outweigh the entire project. I also dont know about the supply, marketing, aspect. So, please, kindly note this and do your research.
And kindly note: 6 nozzles is the highest you can go. And also note: as at 2010, IPMAN Lagos chapter changed the law that filling station must be built on 2plots of land or more. If you want 6 nozzles, you definitely need 2 plots or more. Also note that, the most expensive is 6 nozzles. We have 4, 3, 2, depending on how busy you want your station to be.
Extra: And when trying to get your approval, dont waste your time with a lawyer, find an IPMAN insider, or your approval wont come out until 2050
Call: Engineer Adeyemi Tunde: 08036685576, incase you want me to handle this project for you. Happy Sunday Nairalander. Am Alone: There is definitely no specific amount required to build you a filling station. But I can give a very close estimate.
*** Depending on the land. If you want quick return, then you need to consider having 2plots together by a (very) busy road For land 22 to 25million upward(2plots). Which I learnt you can't use less than a plot to build a filling station again on a very busy road. other documents to process your full ownership of the land can cost you and extra 4million(omonile,lawyer charge, and the others)
*** Since you own the filling station and its on a major road, you need around 11,000 litres tanker 10 to 12m and you need atleast 2. One big one and one small one. The small one cost around 5 to 6.5m ***
*** The underground tank can cost your 4.5m to 5.5m(for 4. Kerosine, diesel and 2 for fuel) Depending the quality/size you want and the workmen involved though. *** The structure will cost you nothing less than 16million upward. *** Other thing involved can cost you much extra. 3m may do!!!!
3years ago when I made this enquiry I was told 80M.
Though it depends on your location and the size. A small one can cost half this price(on a plot. but cannot be built on a busy road) You can go for a land costing 500k to 5m. Build your filling station, but be ready to drink you fuel. . . . The above gives insight on what to expect. Op can now do his research based on those opinions. Thanks my brothers. I thought of this business venture in the nearest future with everything being equal. |

For the indictement, this is the interpreatation of the law'he man was not at any time queried; he was not sanctioned in any way. The principle in law is that an indictment is not a conviction as pronounced by the court in the case of Atiku v. INEC. ' Foster cat my brother. I respect your opinion. The truth is I have never been a member of NSC, hence my ignorance about them. But I believe corruption has beclouded our fair sense of reasoning. We are still where we are cos' there is truth in the corridor is government. The govt is bent on compensating him for his loyalty. MD Abubakar was indicted cos he was found wanting. If he was an absolute loyalist to the govt then, the report was ultimately thrown to the back seat. I repeat, political appointment should be based on proven track record and not political consideration and compensation. |

My brother, with no pun intended and my absolute respect to your opinion. i was only wondering what you meant by 'good'? did you mean his look or his achievement/unquestionable patriotism to the country? The same good preceded president jonathan's assumption of office, same preceded the immediate past IG. At the end we are back to our trenches. Is it not apt to do first thing first than doing last thing first. I have no problem with MD abubakar has a person. But from record, he has no track record of achievement in the force (correct me if i am wrong). As far as he was indicted in Jos security imbroglio, his credibility was lost, he is not fit to head the force. this federal character or political compensation/consideration is killing this country. it would be wisdom if we begin to allow the best person do the job. |

ndu_chucks: The above is very plausible. It is quite easy to believe that after BH bombed those government installations, the untrained and undisciplined police went on a rampage shooting and killing anything in sight and mistaking ordinary citizens trapped in the area for BH members. In the meantime the real BH culprits had already left the location and accomplished their mission.
The same incompetence and indiscipline by the police was seen in Kano yesterday when citizens including pregnant women and children were killed because they violated the curfew and were thus suspected to be BH members! No one bothered to ask the police how they informed the residents of Kano, many of who do not have access to media announcements, what the curfew rules are. SMH Our police force is compounding the problem. bokoharam will sure use the media and the unprofessional acts of the police to gain the sympathy of naive (northern moslems) locals. security issues seem to reach a crescendo once our police steps in. |

the number is startling. there is a way access bank could absorb these staff than outright sack. salaries could be slashed in order to allow room for co-opting these sacked staff. sacking them compound the problems of the economy. taxes will be lost, dignity will be lost, despair will be gained, suicide might be attempted. buy4me: SAN FRANCISCO, January 27, (THEWILL) – Chief Timipre Sylva has gone into hiding, according to very credible reports reaching THEWILL.
The embattled former governor who was sacked Friday morning alongside four other governors bailed on his aides in the wee hours of Friday.
Security sources say Sylva and his family who were in Abuja until a few hours ago have skipped town for an unknown destination.
“We are looking for him, he told his security detail to wait for him in their convoy early this morning. No one has seen him since then. We are looking for him,” one source told THEWILL.
THEWILL had previously reported that Sylva was the target of the Supreme Court judgement to enable the Presidency prosecute him for various offences ranging from corruption to treason. The bottom line is: Whether MD Abubakar has repented or has been 'word-proven' to do the job, it's rather belated and it is a misplaced decision for the president to appoint him has the new IG. History/record has it that he was indicted in a national security imbroglio and a recommendation made for his dismissal. Consequent upon this, he's not fit for the office. He had blatantly compromised on national security. A citizen with a criminal record has unerasable record to his name (otherwise given a presidential pardon) and that morally affects some of his obligations and responsibilities as a citizen. A security officer of this status is no exception.
Nigeria does not lack intelligence yet creative men capable of handling situations. Let's stop recycling even when people have no precedence whosoever. Federal character syndrome is killing us. Let's drop sentiments and imbibe sensibility. Let the best person do the job irrespective of region. That is my take. |

For once PDP caucus agreed to allow its decision affects others in the party all in their quest to get back at Sylva (immediate past governor of bayelsa). PDP and the judges are only acting out their scripts. |
