whizqueen: This thread is for ICAN students that are preparing for the november diet ICAN examinations. The Institute is organising a workshop/ seminar based on the new syllabus on saturday, 16 August 2014 at Airport Hotel for lagos based students by 10.00am. The date and venue for other locations will be posted soon. Please lets share relevant materials with eachother here to help pass this diet at once. I am making use of the ACCA study packs for financial reporting and performance management, which other materials do you guys think would be useful for this exam incorporating the change to the new syllabus, lets come in and share, thank you.

According to a source at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, the founder and Chancellor, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, who reportedly holds a ‘C’ Visa that grants him access to the UK for duration of ten years was stopped from travelling on Saturday, 9 August, 2014, following a directive from “Airline Alert”.



The source said the alert which warned that any airline that disobeys the ban is liable to a fine of £2000, also revealed that the reason for it was yet to be ascertained, but suspected an inquiry by the UK Charitable Commission which accused the UK branch of the Winners Chapel of exploiting supporters as reported by Daily Mail and Guardian.

According to Daily Mail, Winners Chapel received £16.7 million in donations from members who were told that God would give them riches in return and that the members who were being transported in double-decker shuttle buses to the church, handed slips inviting them to make debit card payments, and are even told obeying the ministry’s teachings will make them immune from illness.

A Senior registrar in surgery,for instance, can perform very advanced types of surgery. For example....as a medical student I worked under a Senior registrar who was doing delicate surgery for congenital intestine problems(the gent is now a consultant surgeon). Let's say I was to replace him. Now I know some surgical skills....but I hardly have the knowledge base to do such type of surgery. (And anyways....I want to become an internist! ).

A senior registrar knows a lot more than a junior registrar , or even a medical officer/senior house officer,...or house officer (that's the pecking order amongst us docs.). Asking a medical officer to replace a senior reg is the same as asking a primary one school teacher to teach Advanced Calculus 502 to a group of postgraduate Maths students at university.

The way Nigerians go about protesting everything is making the whole thing look stupid. If you think what the man did is a ploy to get votes come 2015 and a sincere move, the right thing to do is not be constituting nuisance or fooling around in the name of protest. You still have the right to vote for whoever you like come 2015, so why not wait and allow your vote to do the protest at the right time instead of reducing protest to a child play? And to think that these people who are obviously lacking ideas are undergraduates is disappointing.

GodMode: In foreign schools, a Bsc Accounting degree is equivalent to ACCA that's why when they graduate the colleges also give them ACCA certification but naija Bsc is Bsc.

My point is... The things you listed are meant to be part of the syllabus in naija colleges. But after spending 4 yrs in Uni. Naija graduates go still dey read for professional exams. That's RUBBISH.
