Calebosko: oboy see what Ebola av cus,i switch on my nokia phone and dey refuse to shek hands,na die oIf I recall correctly, there is a joke section in this forum. So do the needful. |
It's good development. In order to fight this virus, we need all hands on deck. It's quite brave and selfless of them. With combined effort from the layman on the street to the lab scientists searching for a cure in the lab, we'll overcome this virus. |
jamaicanoshu: Nollywood must demand their own cable tv licenses . The money received from this venture could be used to bank roll 80-100 channels of Nollywood content. Rather than the measly 4 channels they presently have;they could march across Africa offering cartoons ,games, sports ,anything that American Tv offers. The Eaglets just played a match in Congo. this could have been brought live via a Nollywood sports channel! Imagine the advertising revenue that could be generated from these cable channels. Nollywood should expand to all forms of entertainment : porn ,theme parks ,novels, magazines ,radio, music and sports. They should expand street level distribution across America and the Caribbean by combining with local music in these areas . Finally they should use the Kemetic or Ancient Egyptian theme in their historical films. Dr. Malachi York and the Nuwaupians exploited this theme in their books and films.Nice one dear. In addition, there are other avenues to exploit if they want to raise funds. For instance: they can visit corporate bodies and convince them to place adverts on their movies. The bulk of the consumers patronizing Nollywood are Nigerian Housewives and Young ladies. this will be a great way for these companies to reach their customers and for Nollywood to generate needed funds. We have to stop waiting for government to do everything for us. With Ebola and BH, I think the govt have a lot on their table right now. |
kobonaire: Na correct village .. yet GH boys go come de make noise for NLLol...Lagos na their London. |
sammyjay3: Yea with time we'll surpass hollywoodIn your dreams. The Hollywood of the 90's is way better than today's Nollywood. |
kobonaire: I miss Nigeria a lot..... I am in Ghana right now ..Y u no go miss naija. Ghana na abroad? |
simplexvi: u people should keep making noise cos e never serious for naija..instead of praying for GOD to intervain into the situation... we are herevtalking nonsenceLeave God out of this. Let's be practical and find solutions to our problems. God won't descend from heaven to help us. |
Bodies lying around in street doesn't sound good. By now, we should have understood the severity of the situation. These bodies should be cremated ASAP. |
oidyllic: we have only one hope. WHICH IS GODWhat do you want God to do?...come down from heaven and rid Africa of the virus or send a cure from heaven like manna? For once leave God and religion out of this. God will not do for men what men are supposed to do for themselves. That is why he gave us brain, hands...to help us solve our problems. It is not his fault that we can't use them. |
I am speechless. This is the true definition of altruism. There is a thin line between foolishness and selflessness. If only we had leaders like this steering affairs of this country......... And for those who think his mates has made it, remember life is a race and overtaking is allowed. Ride on bro, we have you in our hearts, posterity will never forget you, history will forever have you on his lips. |
danot1030: I know if is my post u will be after me. I tot u read d list of appointees, show me d yoruba man there.Must a yoruba man be there?. I don't see any Efik man or Itsekiri man or Nupe man there. Maybe the people appointed are the best suited for that position. You don't put square pegs in round holes just to please a certain tribe or in the name of Federalism. |
Lucasbalo: In a civilized society, they work for the people not the President. Even the President works for the people. That's why Democracy is Government of the people by the people and for the people. That's where you got it all wrong dear, they were appointed by the President, Yes they might be serving the people indirectly but they are only answerable to the President not the people. The people didn't "appoint" or "elect" them to that position. |
new2020: Are you just waking up now? Did you see any Yoruba from President, Vice President, Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker, Deputy Speaker to Chief Justice of the Federation? NONE...how they let this happen I can't understand! As far as All North, South South and South East are concerned, Yoruba are no longer a factor in this country...they contribute nothing. It's no longer a question of "IF" but "WHEN" they will be forced back to their ancestral home... Benin Republic. You must be an alarmist. Did you consult a thorough research on Yorubas occupying key government position before coming to NL to cry foul. Below are some of them: Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Dr. Akinwunmi Ayo Adesina Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ms. Olajumoke Akinjide Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment Mr. Olusegun Aganga Minister of State for Defense Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro Minister of State for Works Mr. Adedayo Adeyeye. Etc..I can go on and on. Just because he didn't appoint someone from the West to be the NNPC GMD does not mean that the west is being marginalized. I didn't see anybody from the South South who made that list. So unless you have reasonable prove to support your claim, better use your time for something more productive. |
InvertedHammer: /With my little knowledge of History I will try to explain it as much as I could. The Hausas are the original inhabitants of the Northern part of Nigeria. Prior to the 18th century, they practice paganism and lived in seperate kingdoms. The Fulanis are the Arab Herdsman and Scholars who served as clerics or advisers to the Hausa Kings but they were against the pagan practices of the Hausas. The Fulanis thought themselves superior and more knowledgeable to the Hausas and as such suppose to rule. So under their charismatic leader Uthman Dan Fodio, they carried out a jihad to cleanse Hausa lands of pagan influences and establish an Islam state with a centralised government. After conquering the whole of Northern state, they replaced the Hausa pagan leaders with Fulani Emirs and unified all the emirates under the Sokoto Caliphate with Usman Dan Fodio as the first caliph. Most elites in the North are Fulanis. An average Hausa man is timid, conservative and contented. Please visit Hausa/Fulani for more information. |
conyema12: You knows, these might be the crop of players that has pledged to fund the 2015 election.Do you have any proof to substantiate your claim? On what grounds are you going to prosecute them? |
EdCure: They should dischage their duties to the country, not gejPoint of correction. They work for the President and are bound to bend to his whims and caprices or get the boot. |
gratiaeo: Even ordinary Ghana? Prevention is better and cure. I don't blame them sha........ And our useless government have not deemed it fit to ban flight from Ebola infested countryPrevention is better "and" cure. Seriously? There are worse things than Ebola virus. |
dopedealer: Thingz have really changed though! Some day we will look back to this day and say the good old days when a loaf of bread is #200 and a bottle of soft drink is #60. Were things ever better? |
$53.5. So how do I cash out? |
Chuckdee: "A little misleading...it's No. 12 on the "World Music Charts". This doesn't mean it's the Top 12th selling album in the world. When Billboard say "World Music", they mean "International Music", which means non-western traditional music (e.g. afrobeat music, etc), not a chart for all the albums in the world. Basically, it's a chart exclusively for non-western music albums"Thanks for the clarification. |
OlaJohnson1: Igbo people make unnecessary noise of their host communities being no man's land yet can't bury their dead there. See what this senseless practise is doing to them. Please don't derail this thread. If your mission is to start another tribal e-war, please check the next thread. This topic is a very sensitive one. |
Why do I find this very hard to swallow?. For you to make top 20 best selling album, your album must be a hot cake especially in the US. How many copies of this album have been sold?. A million, a hundred thousand, few thousands?... Who bought this album? Some of us are just hearing about this album for the first time. How many Nigerians buy original copies of music album where they can download it for free from naijaloaded or buy the pirated copy. Don't get me wrong. I'm not jealous of his success. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this news and I believe every other logical and informed Nigerian would do the same. |
There's no cause for alarm. He's a kid going through a phase. We all did. Give him time, he' ll get over it. That shouldn't stop the parents from discplining him whenever he misbehaves. We re Africans, let's not forget our roots. That's why our kids don't sue their parents to court or shoot their classmates because they made fun of him/her. |
So these are the standards for measuring creativity? It's funny how people set their own standards and measure people by it. Well I guess creating a thread like this is also a sign of creativity...lol. Creativity has to with "creating", "conceptualizing", "initiating","innovation"...etc...It cuts across diverse profession, sector,discipline,clime...etc. Creativity or the need to create often arises as a result of a perceived anomaly in a system, a gap, a need to improve, the drive for perfection. You can't create what is already in existence but you can improve it. Now my questions for the Mr and Mrs. Creativity on Nairaland is: 1. What have you created? What systems, ideas, concepts have you developed?. It can be in your workplace, in your home, in your school.. 2. What anomalies have your corrected in your society and how did you go about it? There are lots of begging questions. It's one thing to create a list of things that you believe makes you creative, or claim creativity but it's a different thing to actually "create" |
chronique: That's a small thing na. 1790How certain are you?. There are about 24 combinations with those numbers. It could be: 1790 1907 1790 1097 1709 7109.....Etc. So, more details about your answer would be really helpful. |
CharlesPhc: Male waiters got their orders wrong and a male customer was hit on the head by his wife for getting up to take a closer look, she said. This got me rolling on the floor. |
Very educative. I think NLers need this lecture. One can hardly have a decent chat or conversation on this site without trading barrage of curses. Virtually every thread/topic snowballs into tribal bashing. |
LaurelP: Op no offense but dis is not actual reality out thereNo offense. If you don't find the post useful, then don't discourage others who might. The fact that it didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for others. People still get job on merit. |
KnuckleHead: Proverbs 26:4E pain am. |
kurlz: Nigerians answer questions with questions, their youths are dependent until they are in their late 20s or 30s.Please Elaborate. |
