Someone just died a very horrible death...someone's husband, father, uncle, leader, king, son, grandfather and this is all could think of.

Sometimes the way people think can be perplexing.

WoodcrestMayor: There are phone booths powered by Airtel around campus.students own prepaid card that can be used to call wen the need arises.
So what's the noise all about? I'm certain they all have laptops. They should use it to surf the net whenever the need arises.
FoodRe: How Many Times Dou You Eat In Day? by Kossyne(m): 7:08am On Aug 10, 2014
OP your question is a bit vague. Do you mean the frequency(ie the number of plates) or intervals. Cos some folks here claiming that they eat once in day eat three plates of food @ a time.

So to answer your question. I don't really count the stuff. It all depends on the availability of food and how busy I am.

shehuAO: All politicians cheats before they get to where they are,so it is not bad for students to cheats at Exams.this is Nigerian, every body is corrupt from head to toe.
Two wrongs cannot make a right. You can't justify cheating just because some people do it and get away with it. Cheating is wrong no matter who is involved.

GSKing: After 4 or 5 years of study, a full grown graduate of computer science cannot design a simple application a 13 years old Ukrainian does at his leisure time due to these restrictions!

To each his own.
How many computer science graduates from our so called public universities with "no restrictions" can design an application? Some don't even know a single programming language. I don't see how banning phone use on campus affects students' abilities to learn.

It's a bit extreme I ll say but I trust the management have their reasons. Meanwhile an alternative form of communication should be provided, maybe campus phone booths.

Something like "Signs that proves you lack confidence" would have suffice.

shadrach77: I counted 20 Ebola related topics currently featuring on the front page, including the two that have been added in the last one hour. Now we need to spread hope not fear. Okay, there is an outbreak but the continual reporting is an attempt by the west to paint Africa in a bad light. I can't remember them reporting vigourously when "bird flu" epidemic was spreading all around Europe. Let's be wise and desist from helping them in denigrating our continent angry angry angry angry
On the contrary I think proper information and sensitization on Ebola is what we need right now. You can't solve your problem when you lack adequate information about the problem. Frequent news and threads on the virus will make people to be cautious and not to down play the severity of the situation. Proper information will also reduce the spread of the virus. Ebola kills, Ignorance kills faster.

wikiman: We need to really get serious with research in this country and stop focusing on frivolous things as
i got this forwarded to me yesterday VERY THOUGHTFUL

"This was forwarded to me - "This is just the plain truth.....Hehehehehehe! EBOLA strikes "stone age" Africa. The entire continent, comprised largely of backward thinking people, is thrown into confusion. They were praying. Calling on God as usual. God doesn't drop vaccines or cures from heaven. I wonder why they can't get that into their thick skulls. EBOLA hit Africa in the 70s. The Americans took note. They developed a cure and locked it up in a wardrobe somewhere. A thinking society, a practical society, a sensible society. They solved the problem in the lab and not in the church or some other religious houses. They know the solution to problems is not by handing it over to God or casting it on Jesus or someothers. They found a cure and locked it away, for a day it will be needed. We were in church and mosques, praying. So EBOLA hit West Africa and the entire continent became jittery. Hundreds died. America kept quiet. Two Americans got infected. The Americans opened their wardrobe, flew the cure to Africa and saved their citizens. The drug worked within minutes! The two citizens were saved. Not by prayers but by common sense preparation. God doesn't help the praying Africans with vaccines or cures. They die in their hundreds. It's because of their sins. What else will they say?The Americans don't help lazy minded Africans too. They make money with their vaccines, which praying Africans have to buy. Cos they won't spend their time taking the hard route to solve their problems. They will rather gather in special prayer grounds and ask God to intervene. But he does not. Except maybe through the money making Pharma companies in America. Such is the life of those who don't think!"
In as much as I abhor the level of religious fanatism in Nigeria, I am sick of people who sit on their hands and criticize others when they are guilty of the same crime. Coming to nairaland to complain about the ineptitude of Nigerian government and the popualce don't just cut.

Dear Critic,
What have you done in your own capacity as a private individual to mitigate the spread of this virus?.

Can you list 10 things you have done recently which is in the interest of the public other than you own private gain?

If you happen to be the President of Nigeria, what would you do differently?

In what ways have you solved problems within your immediate community?

Until we as individuals can provide answers to these questions and other ones, we are all guilty of complacency, ignorance and laziness.

12 First class graduate..

% of first class = 12/11,972 * 100

= 0.1002338791 %

Jeez... Lasu no try o... The number is not even up to 1percent.. Avoid Lasu ,unilorin ,OAU if you want an easy first class because those schools will fustrate you.

ComputersRe: Stop Sharing USB Flash Drives - Right Now by Kossyne(m): 10:09pm On Aug 06, 2014
NIGERIALOLoCOM: A guy once tried to gain covert access to my one of my bros' files by pretentiously asking to copy a sizable file from his laptop via a usb flash drive. My bros, who was browsing the net when his guy requested the file from him was wise enough to disconnect his internet connection while copying the file, immediately his guy left him.
His guy entered a nearby cybercafe, then rushed back to my bros and asked: " Is it copying?"
My bros replied, "Yes, it's copying"
Moreover, my bros would reconnect the internet once he saw that his guy approaching him. He would confirm it and ran back to the cybercafe only for my bros to quickly disconnect the internet connection.

"Are you sure it is copying"?, the guy asked, almost shouting as he ran back to him once again.
"O yes!", bros replied, who on impulse, had quickly reconnected to the web.
His guy was baffled. grin He could not understand why he failed to establish connection with my bros' laptop from the nearby cybercafe via his usb flash drive, even when he could still see my bros happily browsing away on his laptop. grin grin grin

Ma bros!, nawaaa for you ooo!! grin grin grin

Nwa4Jesus: I will say that this ebola comes into Lagos on our own carelessness, ebola breakout since March in Libriea so how do Nigeria allow someone from their to come in all in d name of conference meeting without not screening him at d airport blc na oyibo man abii? Now see what he has caused us, fear of ebola here n there. Have we think how's our kids gonna do when d resume back to school by next month? We are too dull on dis virus biko Nijja. Lagos goverment are trying their best. God help us
We are well aware of that. Saying it over and over again will not change a thing. Instead of sitting on your hands and blaming the government for the same crime you are guilty of, why not be proactive?. What have you done to ensure that the spread of this virus is mitigated in your own capacity as an individual?

If you want people to like your posts/comments, then post something sensible, contribute meaningfully to topics. I don't even know why you are clamouring for likes, can it be exchanged for money or do you derive some sort of personal gratification.Whichever is it, it has nothing to do with the topic being discussed.

Abimloaded: Where are the Nigerian PHARMACY Graduates ?

What's the essence of studying Pharmacy if they can't make research to cure for some ailments ?

Must we depend on the foreigners before we can have the cure for ailments ?

What are the Pharmacists into ?

We are only an Independent Country on paper but when it comes to finding a solution to any problem we are facing we are DEPENDENT on the foreign countries.

Boko Haram, we seeked for International help when the Chibok girls were abducted & here we are again seeking for help from the United States.

Its high time we stopped this dependence & prove the useless Independence we claim we have obtained since 1960!!
My thoughts exactly!!!..what of the Bio-chemists and Micro-Biologists, the lab scientists etc. Our education system train students to be job seekers.

But come to think of it, enough finger-pointing and blame games. We ve had enough that will last us a life time. This issue of Ebola is a national concern meaning it affects all and sundry, therefore it calls for combined effort from everybody.

We might not be lab scientists but there are little things we can do:

#1. We can organize sensitization programs and campaigns in our local churches, mosques, communities, campuses etc and educate people on the dangers of the virus and safety measures to be taken to limit the spread of the virus.

#2. Avoid use of public convienience.

#3. Washing of hands thoroughly with soap at regular intervals.etc

Pointing fingers will not solve our problem. Ebola virus is a reality and it is in Nigeria.Let's be PRACTICAL.
