I eventually moved on. Didn't go back to the lady. She's now married. She is still keeping in touch with me though. I have gotten my own business, doing my masters now. Really doing well and intend leaving the country after my masters degree program in Unilag

The day I attempted suicide because of a failed relationship and subsequently slumped into coma. This happened Dec 31 2014' I was lying lifeless in the hospital bed with oxygen for 4 days. When I eventually opened my eyes on the fourth day to see my dad crying. We lost my mum barely a year ago, I was like what the Bleep!! Where am I?? I nearly ran out of the hospital with my drip. It was so so scary. I did share the story on Nairaland as at 2016. It was such a traumatic event. My near death experience changed my life forever. Here's the link to the story.

Honorable Mentions- O Come, O Come

[b]20. On My Way Home- Yes, this song is at
the bottom of the list, but it’s still one of my
favorites. I can really feel the lyrics through
the music, even if I’m not “returning home”,
the song still gives me the same joyous
feeling. It’s like a trance.

19. Smaointe- Oh, those bagpipes. Those
beautiful bagpipes…

18. La Soñadora- This song is so
hypnotizing. The way the Spanish is used in
this song fits so well with the entrancing
music. It reminds me of some tracks on
“The Celts.”

17. Fallen Embers- One of my favorite Enya
love songs. It sounds so nostalgic and
longing when it hits the bridge and she
sounds like she’s crying out for her long lost
love. It’s a beautiful song, but Enya’s voice
sounds so sad and forlorn.

16. Boadicea- This is a song that grew on
me. It’s so simple, the first time I heard it I sort of scratched my head. But the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. It’s so
simple, and so haunting. It’s just the
synthesizer and Enya’s overdubbed voice.
That’s what makes it gold.

15. Orinoco Flow- Keep Calm and Sail Away
my friends.

14. Pax Deorum- Oh man. This song is ear
candy. I actually put this song on my Mass
Effect fanmix because it reminded so much
of the Mass Effect soundtrack with it’s
pulsing beat.

13. Anywhere Is- In my opinion, this is
most catch Enya song of all time. I sing this
song to myself so often it’s sometimes
annoying. I even narrate my life to this
song, “I go into the kit-chen, because I am
so hun-gry, I’m gonna make a pi-zza, and
maybe drink some O-J”…

12. Marble Halls- Sure Enya didn’t write the
song, but she covered it soo beautifully.
Enya does covers so well, she can take any
song and make it gold. This is my favorite.

11. The Celts- Ever since I saw the music
video, I fell in love with this song. Enya
riding on a horse is such a vivid image in my
mind. It’s so triumphant.

10. Exile- I have a lot of emotions air-
locked in this song from my depression. The
song brings out a different side of my
misery.

9. If I Could Be Where You Are- My
favorite Enya love song. I don’t think I need
to describe why.

8. Watermark- My favorite instrumental
piano melody by Enya. It’s one of my
favorites to play on the piano. Others are
great, but this one is so classic. It was the
first song on her first studio album…it’s like
this song is her grand introduction.

7. Evening Falls…- One of my depression
anthems. This is one of the songs I go to
when I just can’t handle the world. “Close to
home, feeling so far away”…what strong
words.

6. Only If…- This song and Book of Days are
two of my anxiety relieving songs. Only If
was the song that calmed me down when I was about to take my driving test to get my
licence. I’ll always remember that day, and
if it wasn’t for Enya cheering me on, telling
me to “seize the day!”, I would have ran out
of the door and never came back.

5. Book of Days- Like Only If, this song
empowers me. Only If and Book of Days are
basically ties, because they both give me a
lot of strength. But since I don’t want to do
ties, I picked this one for the #5 spot
because I really love the music.

4. Only Time- Pure nostalgia. This is the
first Enya song I ever heard. I have
memories back in my childhood to this song.
That opening chord always brings me back.

3. Cursum Perficio-Oh this song is just so
delicious. I LOVE dark Enya songs. Her voice
is so perfect for them. This is for sure my
favorite Enya song to play on the piano. This
is Enya’s composing at her greatest. This is
the song that made me realize how great of
a composer she is- and put in my mind that
she might even be a genius.

2. Trains and Winter Rains- I love this song so much
because it’s a combination of every element
I love about Enya. It’s dark but it’s also
uplifting. Her voice sounds so haunting
partnered with the strong string baseline.
But then in the chorus, it’s harmonious Enya
magic that we all love. For me, it’s the
perfect Enya song for these reasons.

1. The River Sings- After reading about
Trains and Winter Rains, you’d think that
would be my favorite? Well, there’s one
more song that just takes my breath away.
The River Sings is the song that got me into
Enya. Sure I liked Only Time, but that was
about it. It wasn’t until I heard this song on a
Death Note AMV (I know, weird) that I knew I had to hear more from her. This song isn’t the “perfect Enya song” like Trains and
Winter Rains, but if it wasn’t for this
amazing song, I wouldn’t have heard any of
the rest. For that reason, this is my all time favorite Enya song.
