They should increase the school fees to 3million per session. Who can’t pay should take government bond. If you want to travel abroad, go and study medicine abroad. There’s nobody stopping you there but don’t take advantage of the Nigerian system. What have universities and hospitals shown for the billions given to them throughout the years??

This believe that everything foreign is the ultimate has to stop before we would know our value.
I remember sometime ago, I happens to meet sugar level patience, so I gave them an assignment, the assignment was to squeeze onugbo (bitter leave), put it inside coolant then 1 glass cup every night for 30 days, that they should go and check their sugar level.
Could u believe that it was 25% that did what I asked them to do and it happens that when they checked their sugar level, there was drastical change (I'm not a doctor nor pharmacist, I'm only a physiotherapist)

Dude, the only reason students abroad subject themselves to student loans is the reward they intend to obtain from the qualification, despite not being able to afford the cost.

So while Nigeria cannot even grant student loans, the government would rather bond those who require free education.

If the Nigerian would stay put in Nigeria, to earn cheaply from cheap education, there would be no need for such bond.

As far as Nigeria is concerned, there is no tuition fee when for all Federal Universities.
Many Doctors know what it takes to become a doctor abroad. Many of them pay students loan years after graduation. Aside that, you have to be recommended by a professor after your fist degree in order to gain admission to study Medicine.

Nigeria system is the cheapest, yet they are well trained. Reason Nigerian Trained Doc. are "hot cake" abroad.

Government needs to do more in terms of remunerations for Doctors, but the truth is Nigeria can't pay the same amount they are being paid abroad.

If you know you want to practice abroad, get trained there.

Nigeria has become a training ground for professionals who would benefit other foreign societies.

This is not just about Doctors but all professionals in Nigeria.

We are mostly trained for "free" in Nigeria, then owing to the poor renumeration in the country, many who are already gainfully employed here resign to go take up job offers abroad, without having to take student loans like their peers abroad who are still paying back from their salaries.

We work with them in their Google, or Microsoft, or Apple offices, in their law firms and hospitals, unknown to us that the salary we enjoy, they use to offset the student loans that got them the degree.

We just earn the same salary as them in their country, and have no student loan to worry about.

In Nigeria, you can be the child of a cleaner/janitor and pass through university with a lot of discomfort, but without owing a penny by the time of graduation. Abroad, the child of a janitor without a scholarship (academic or sport), is only in the university doing similar janitorial work.

It’s what happens when the man doesn’t view himself as a co-parent. Rather he adopts the position of a dependent who has also has to be cared for by the wife and then feel ignored because the wife is caring for toddlers and infants more.
If he contributes equally to parenting the children, the wife won’t have to do everything herself and consequently will have time to tend to his needs as well. That way they can care for each other and their kids.
Wives aren’t meant to be pseudo moms for grown men. That’s the fastest way to kill romantic feelings between the couple

I almost fell victim of "cutting my son open" in the name of surgery for one stomach thing....long story anyways, but thank God I stayed calm to think despite the doctors pressure on me to make deposit so they could carry out the operation.

I left there,went to another hospital with my child....hmmm! This second doctor just told me in conclusion, madam you are just lucky you didn't fall for that.
More than how many years now and we are still doing very very fine.( Every glory and praise to God Almighty).

Op like I opined earlier, please I beg you, seek for second sound opinion but please be fast , if after all that ,you see amputation is the last call, then you know you tried.

not really, she could do a bypass. She probably has Peripheral Arterial disease(PAD). Which means there is a blockage or damage in the artery in the leg. It could be bypassed using the vein.

Refuse the amputation and have her see a Neurologist asap. Walking difficulties and/or continuous problems with the legs are often a sign of brain diseases/disorders. The brain controls our walking (including both movement and balance). Have her see a well-trained Neurologist.

Abroad they would have let a vein from another part of the body to flow through that leg until it’s stabilized and it won’t have to be amputated but it will be very expensive. However I think you should go online, watch some of dr Jason fung videos on YouTube, read the diabetes code and also the obesity code. It’s gonna help your mum if you guys can practice some of the therapies recommended therein. Good luck

My friend, if you have money send your mom abroad immediately. Don't send her to India o. Because 90% of doctors in Nigeria are quacks. When they can't diagnose malaria, typhoid, diabetes and pneumonia they go for the kill. Never trust a Nigeria doctor. Send your mom to Europe or America, even south africa. Na beg I dey beg you o. Get a proper second opinion.

Like everything is not working. Whites won't think of amputation at all they'll look for other means of survival
But here reverse is the case . op pls they should not amputate her leg .the elder sister of my mum suffered same thing after money was spent she's walking perfectly now.
