They just give me e regular stmt and a reference letter, they didn't mention anything about the requested new format. I explained it myself when replying. I am presently at the bank trying to get them to write to the Embassy explaining to they don't have the format.

JustMellow:
Thanks for the revert. In the reference letter given to you by your bank upon the request by cic, didn't they(your bank) state in it about not operating the system of bank account ticket ID and password or they just wrote "again" the account was authentic and the statement genuine?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 9:24am On Dec 09, 2018
Bros, na Nairobi peeps. our one and only Nairobi.

JustMellow:
Is the request for statement of account ID ticket and password/code from London or Nairobi?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 5:24pm On Dec 08, 2018
@Oguntola18: the embassy replied me that they still want the statement to be in their format. I found out GTBank supports this new format but my SOA is from FCMB. I still don't have a definite solution yet.

I pm you please check.

kpizzle:
I submit my SOA using the regular statement with a reference letter from the bank.

When sending the SOA via mail, I explained in the body of the mail that our banks don't use the suggested format. I got the idea from someone on the forum who got approval recently.

I sent it to them last Friday and I haven't heard from them yet. I hope it works.

How far boss
I also currently received an email that I should send them MyBank Statement Ticket with Id and passcode
However after going to the bank,I was told that no such thing exists and I was given the normal regular bank statement.
Were u able to get the bank statement with Id and passcode, or did u just submit the regular bank statement too
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 11:06am On Nov 27, 2018
lol, u too sharp. U have started decoding my story, please wait till approval before u hear the full episode. However, this is the 3rd SOA and if i add my earlier refusal it makes it 4th.

Lagos2canna:
approval is sure for you ........how many SOA did you summit?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 10:28am On Nov 27, 2018
I will be in my bank by noon. I hope i can get the SOA with ticket ID and passcode or else I will have to explain to them maybe with a LOE or something

Frankrobbn1:
Contact your account manager/bank, they will be in the best position to provide you a bank statement ticket, containing a ticket ID and passcode. The visa officer might have noticed inconsistent balances and inflow in the account statement you provided. Hence, the request for a statement for the last one year. Do this immediately! It's a positive sign that your application is close for a decision to be made.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle:
I have a bit of history on my application and am not surprised their request is unusual."asking for a year for SOA". These Nairobi's VO are really a handful. Am telling you from my experience.

I still need to be able to submit a new SOA with their requested format of ticket ID and pass code.

Lagos2canna:
I think is a good news, request for a new SOA from your bank, it should cover the last one year.......... The V. O is suspecting some magomago or the previous one was not clear, all these people with their wahala

82% refusal rate for Nigeria applicants for TRV in 2017.

I just saw this on tweet and I feel I should share.

Application refused. Purpose of visit is the only box ticked. I wonder what purpose of visit again, after going for MSc. I applied on July 8th. It's so painful that after waiting for 16weeks, it still ended up as refusal

Congrats again Lotusboi

Please tell us are u self sponsor? Also, how were u able to explain jumping from 1M to 11M in your SOA?

For someone who just graduated in 2017 how we're u able to convince the VO of how u acquired shares, treasury bills, lands, properties e.t.c

Lotusboi:
*LONG POST***

First Application
Submitted: 4th April
Biometrics: 5th April
Delayed: 29th May
Reason: Purpose of visit, insufficient fund to pay fees without working in Canada.

Second Application: 13th June
Biometrics: 22nd June
Medical mail: 22nd October
Medicals done: 5th Nov (IOM Abuja)
Uploaded: 7th Nov
Approval/PPR: 8th Nov

Submitted Docs:
SOP
School admission letter (Carleton University, MEng Mechanical Engineering)
Financial Documents: Bank Statement (First Application had just a balance of 1 million, this second application had a balance of 11 million).
Treasury Bills, Shares, Properties were also submitted.
Graduated 2017. Just completed NYSC last month
During this second application, I ordered gcms for my first app, saw the reason stated by the VO (go through my timeline to see this), but I had already submitted my application so there was nothing I could do. I wanted to resume this Fall.
Towards the middle of August I sent out a lot of CSE containing my school fees receipt and also seeking for an expeditious review of my app. I didn’t get any responses immediately apart from the regular generic responses which came after like a week. I ordered gcms again and it came after 20 days. I found out my app was stuck because of an error in collecting data from New Zealand. Shortly after this I started receiving mails that my tuition receipt has been received.
My review of eligibility didn’t change throughout.
I sent a new admission letter from fall to Winter. Reception was confirmed. I stopped worrying. I looked at goingforward and admired her for being pious. I remembered my God.
I started doing early morning special prayers concerning this visa. This was in October. I partook of a 3 days dry fast in my church. 2 weeks later I received my medical mail. IOM was fully booked but God’s favour located me once more. I did the medicals and got my PPR yesterday.
What I did differently in this second application was I involved God.
Prayers do work and never ever relent. God will deliver unto those expectant of their visas in Jesus name.
I want to also thank Jeremy and Frank for taking their time out to reply my questions and advise me. God bless you both. See you all in Maple Land.

Ps. If you’re interested in the prayer points I used to pray send me a pm and I’ll send them to you. God bless

We're you given timeline for when to produce the new LOA?

blaugrana82:
Good morning guys. I have a question and I'm a little bit bothered. My online application is now 17weeks 1day. my application has been on eligibility review for 7weeks now. I sent a mail to London office and got a response on Monday requesting for my new admission letter cos I deferred from September to January. PLS WHAT DOES THIS REQUEST SIGNIFY? Though I'm still patiently waiting for the medical request mail.

Hi All,

Please can anyone confirm if webform (CSE) is fine now.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 10:28am On Oct 27, 2018
Guy, I understand u now, ur problem is that u are not comfortable when after rejection someone suggest GCMS note.

Maybe u should try to ignore and offer ur own advice, however an telling u this from experience the only logic step after a refusal is GCMS note request.

So, bros no vex u have to understand that over time many people on this forum has agreed that GCMS note is the way to go.

Linzo:
Did you provide solution to her in the first refusal? And she followed your steps and got rejected again? No!! I'm not against anyone ordering for gcms I'm only frowning to some people who will be the first to comment in every refusal "order for gcms" without any reasonable input in salvaging the applicant's plight. That's my point.

Whenever somebody who got refusal comes here with pains we should try provide some leverage points to the person to get relief and thereafter we could encourage him or her to order gcms for details, not just saying "order for gcms" its not good at all
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 4:21pm On Oct 26, 2018
A wise person once said "once beaten twice shy". I think a word is enough for the wise. Use ur "church/Mosque" mind to judge if you need GCMS note or not.

Deedyvn:
Thanks bro. No I didn't order for gcms note.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 1:58pm On Oct 17, 2018
Please tell them ooooo.

vibrant99:
GCMNOTES is completely different from that papers that you are given.
"I see people saying it is the same thing but more detailed", Big lie....

Lets assume you got a white letter ticked for Purpose of Visit and Travel history!

Don' be surprised to see in your GCM notes that the "sponsor doesn't have enough or steady flow of funds"........

Oya tell me if Purpose of Visit and Travel history have anything to do with Funds?

Most people here make comments on what they read on here, Most of them not have a direct experience.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 15 by kpizzle: 5:44pm On Oct 15, 2018
I am sorry to bust ur bubble, I don't agree with your comment, sir. Age and study gap are very huge hudle to surmount. Also, VO are not fundraisers for schools and cana government, so are not easily moved with so much money.

vibrant99:
10yrs study gap is plenty bro.

Are you married?
Kids?
Working?
how old are you?

All this matters like die.

Let me give you a clue of those getting visas more this days

-Married, and travelling leaving family behind..(self sponsored)
-Very expensive school.... like 25k school fees with deposit of one term payment, (Money plenty na)
-Parent Only sponsored, with confirm account balance!

This set of people have received Visa with a lot of ease
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by kpizzle: 4:02pm On Sep 25, 2018
Hmmm.... Quite possible. But we have seen some approvals less than 4 weeks. Anyway if something happens majority of the time like 90% then we can say that's the rule.

muizzzz:
My People,

What I observe is that any application that is more than 4 weeks always end with success.

I also observe that refusal is within 3 to 4 weeks.

If your application is beyond 4 weeks , congrats in advance.

I stand to be corrected.

I see where you are coming from and I understand your pain. We are all knowledgeable enough to see all the injustice and underdevelopment in Nigeria. However, I was once naive and parochial like you but over time I begin to look at life from another angle.

The Canada we are all striving to go to also have their fair share of issues, have you try to research about the Indigenous people that are referred to as First Nations, Inuit and Métis people? go and learn about the grandiose injustices they are experiencing. How about Africa migrants in Canada?. You need to know that there is no where on earth without their challenges.

You sound like some people from a part of Nigeria with a high sense of entitlement but is that actually the way forward? God did not play dice with my life by locating me in Nigeria and I want to make a difference to the people around me. The high quality education I hope to get in Canada is not only to enrich myself and my family but to also use it here in Nigeria and contribute my little token to this country.

No matter how all this mess continue in Nigeria, i bet you it will definitely come to an end and the end is very nigh. It took a Mary Slessor to stop killing of twins and a Dora Akunyili to fight fake drugs to a stand still. The era of ignorant, selfish and wicked leaders will come to an end very soon and the table will turn and enlighten people like us will take over the mantle of leadership only if we don't sound the way you just did.

uyplus:
My brothers, sorry I hurt people's feelings with my shithole rhetoric. But in the real sense, is this country moving forward? If Nigeria is so good, why aren't we queuing to pursue degrees in UNN, UNICAL, UNILAG et al? Why are consultant doctors and health professionals of allied sciences leaving in their droves? We're still having the same old sets of cargoes want to rule us again. We are deeply divided on ethnoreligious lines. We scream that Nigeria is home, but is Nigeria truly home? Can an Ibo man fearlessly build a house in Kano without worrying about ethnoreligious fights? Yes, it's true you'll miss the culture, but there's simply more to life than just the people!
The other day in Abuja, a Lebanese man slapped a Nigerian man, and called the cops on him and the Nigerian was malhandled by the cops on the order of the Lebanese! Is that normal? A Lebanese man beat up a pregnant staff and she got a miscarriage, guess what, the police still detained the woman on the orders of a foreign national!
A sibling who had a first class in Engineering, and distinction in two masters degree all from overseas came home and looked for job but couldn't find any until God opened the way for him and he relocated. He was simply rejected at home, and you expect him to be proud of his roots tomorrow? On many occasions, 3rd class graduates who had connections were chosen over him, and we expect this country to work?
Look at our current president, is he intelligent enough to pilot the affairs of this country? 2019, people will queue up for 1k. Some people are earning 18k as salary! Is this a country? Nepotism, tribalism are all forms of racism!

Thanks for the stat but we need to know a little more

For example what is the total student TRV application if the number of refusal is 106,867 students? Presently, CIC claim that approval rate is 78% but this is an average that includes 100% approval for US & Europe, 25% approval for Somalia etc and maybe like 45% from Africa.

Never judge stat from face value.

eastafro:
its not that bad actually.
from 2017's 600,000 refusals only 106,867 were student TRVs .
even the overall rate is impressive. 494,133/2.3 million applicants refusals . that's a huge chance of being approved if you ask me.
plus
" Refusal rates were highest for applicants from
Africa and Middle East, with 75 per cent of
applications from Somalia, Yemen, Syria and
Afghanistan being rejected in the last two years."
