Thanks bro,but do u have any travel experience outside Africa?,will it affect ur chances of getting visa.i was told that u can't get US visa if u havnt travelled out before, how true is that.
While travel history helps, its not a must or a determiner that ur visa will be denied if you dont have travel history I got mine on a virgin passport. wish you all the best.

Less luck and more "a lot of people applying who were never going to get a Visa". I haven't yet met someone who had strong ties to Nigeria, no criminal issues and a good amount of Money in Nigeria who was denied a Visa.
Obi Cubana was denied at Lagos consulate last year.

lol, it's always like that but I think when the time comes it will happen..A friend of mine was denied like 3 times before he was given on his 4th attempt. Now, he's in the US with his family...Their interview and the whole process have a way of messing up with one's mental health..
I feel they shouldn't make one go through all that stress if one will be denied.. it's really frustrating seeing grown able bodied men crying in the presence of their family members especially those innocent kids that'll wear sch uniform with their parents..They should just let everything end at the checkpoint gate by making a roster of qualified applicant🤣.
lol US visa interview isnt that hard or a do or die thing, I think the more most people start seeing it this way the easier it becomes and the more confident they become . its basically the same questions and answers you have been preparing for months. Majority just feel inferior because its a white person interviewing you 🤷🏽‍♂️

how much is the i - 20, how much is the sevis ? Any idea ?
you dont pay for i20. Its ur school that issues it to you after admission and after you have sent a bank statement that shows you have more than enough funds to cover you for a year.

My interview answers was not wrong I think but I was nervous at first.

V.o - when did you finish high school
Me- 2020

Vo- have you ever traveled before
Me- no

What will you do after you finish college:
I’ll come back to Nigeria and work here.

Vo- sorry I can’t approve your visa at this time.

Guys I later discovered my sevis number was not updated on my visa appointment and I choose self paying for my fees on my ds160.
Firstly , you finished highschool 3yrs ago, what have you been doing? what did u fill on ur ds160 as ur current employment? then ur post graduate plans, no clear goal of what u want to do w the intended degree. message me thru nairaland. I was approved on that day same27th, let me guide you all for FREE. since you intend to reapply again.

I got my visa today at abuja. Here is my transcript:

Firstly I want to thank God for granting me success in this journey, It can only be Him cos the ammount of fear I had based on the fact that I had no funding and COA was on the highside. Omo my advice is do whatever you wan do o, but put God first.
I also wanna thank the creators of this Group cos the knowledge I gain from here Omo. But all in all I want to thank @⁨𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡.⁩ for the countless mocks and corrections he did for me @⁨Moshkom⁩ for link ing me to @⁨Waju🌱.⁩ my Ever ready VO who run me mock session even at midnight or anytime I message am. Thanks for the mocks
@⁨~Xavier 💯⁩ @⁨~E Don Soft!!!!!!⁩ @⁨~Zuko✰⁩ @⁨Ted .⁩ thank you all
Small story : Omo i witnessed denial plenty, I saw my guys get denied right in front of me, But I wasnt nervous for some reason I was smiling all through and making jokes with my guys. One guy was asked a question He started talking something them no ask am😭. One Guy in the waiting area, during passport checks, that woman asked him I see you been to Ghana so what year did you go, He said something wrong she disagreed with him then she asked him again how long did you stay in ghana he said 1day(long story short, she seized his old passport and said she was going to flag it )

Interview proper:
SCHOOL : EAST TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY
COURSE :Bsc In Computer and Information Science.
COA: 45,000$
*No Funding*
* VO : BALD MAN IN ABUJA*
* First Attempt*

V.O - Have you travelled outside Nigeria before?

ME- No

V.O-When did you finish your highschool?

ME- In 2019 sir

V.O- What do you do here in Nigeria

ME- Im currently interning as a junior software developer at Microsoft Nigeria, where my roles includes me writing basic codes, assisting the senior software developers in their day to day tasks and also Testing out new softwares.

V.O - So you are working at Microsoft?

ME - No, Im volunteering as an intern at Microsoft Nigeria.

V.O-Who will be paying for your education?

ME - My father has demonstrated his ability to pay for my studies before my i-20 was issued. He is the Chief Medical Director at Reddington hospital in Lagos, as well as a private Medical Consultant to several hospitals around Lagos. Asides from that , He has set aside a savings account which he intends to fund my education with.

V.O- What will you be doing after your program

ME- I will be returning back to Nigeria for my mandatory NYSC program, Afterwhich I will be applying for a job role as a software developer at the Ministry of Science and Technology in Nigeria where I will be working with government agencies to create software solutions that can enhance citizen engagement. (he nodded)

* Small talk him and I had*

So have you paid your sevis fee? (na here I know e don soft)
Yes and he asked how I did, I said I used western Union and he said ohh Nice that it was fast cos I paid it in yesterday and its always slow going from Nigeria to there. and laughed.

Next thing I heard was Everything Looks good, I will be approving your visa this white paper will guide you .... I thanked him and left as I came out of the consular office, I showed everyone that were still in the waiting area my white paper" I don get am" . They laughed and I ran out🤭🤭🤭

Observations ; He likes straight to the point answer and Eye contact, especially when you talking of ur sponsor, make sure you look him directly cos thats when he will pause what he is doing to look at you and judge from there. Also, just try to be calm even if everywhere blue , distract yourself and lastly, pray its important.

you act like you know too much, education USaa is licensed and linked with the embassy abd consulate. they provide orientation and talk about so many things and most times current VO are present to answer questions people have.

I am sorry for this, but ur story line indicated ur intent inclined towards immigrant visa as opposed to non-immigrant visa (F1). You claimed that ur uncle will be sponsoring ur education and after ur studies u will take over ur father's business. The same business that could not sponsor u. This is a red flag
i was about to point that out.

I don't know if there's a laid down rule when it comes to answering why you chose a school. But, I'm always of the opinion that, Funding or Money should come last! Why not talk about excellent curriculum, or the vast knowledge of the faculty you'll be working with? Before now talking about funding
wrong, in my opinion, Having funding is a good highlight and your strenght , from there you can talk about whatever if they allow u

Hello everyone! Please I need to be cleared on something🙏
I did my first interview with a private university and my major was computer science but what appeared on my I-20 was computer and information sciences. I told the school counselor to change it but he said it's correct that the I-20 name for computer science is computer and information sciences. But unfortunately, my first attempt wasn't successful because the school was too expensive. I got admission into a public uni with a low COA. Now, this is where am confused. The new school used computer science on the I-20 the sent me, not computer and information sciences. Please, I hope the vo will not think I changed course because I don't know how I will explain this to them so that the will understand that it's not my fault.
its just the course code its still the same thing.

Pls I have been looking for dates of May or June for Abuja and I am yet to find.

Can you help out or suggest anyways j can get?

I earlier chose a date in October for Abuja with the hope to get an earlier date for May or June cos my admission is for Fall 2023 but till now I am unable to get a may or June date so I can reschedule.
Or do ih have tdd o change to Lagos? And if so, how do I do that change cos I heard there has been May and June dates for Lagos
there is no trick to getting early dates all you have to do is join a date search group for the embassy you are going to that updates regularly . So once slots are open you can sharply log and pick a date and schedule the time. p.s the slots released earlier today were mostly first timer applicants. and a few prev denied managed to some slots.

please how many times can you use the cancel option without actually cancelling your appointment to see visa dates. I was told if you cancel more than 4times i will pay a new visa fee. or it doesnt count unless I actually cancel my current appt and pick a new appt ?
