Me I am going to the US for my Masters degree in Information Technology at WUST.
I picked this school for my course because ….she didn’t allow me finish up

Vo What did you studied at first degree?
I didn’t hear clearly, I have to adjust and asked her to repeat the question?
So she repeated herself
Me I studied Biochem at my first degree. So I went further explaining why I am going for MSIT like relating it to my work place and relating it to a senior vacant position which requires this cert to be qualified for that position and stated my boss nominated and supported me to go for the program…
BUT honestly she didn’t listen from the way I was looking at her and she didn’t even look at me…

At this point was nervous

I think they are cheating them from somewhere to approve and deny person visa.
That was what I observed

Good morning, please how do someone put up the explanation to a VO for using an outdated I20 for an interview, I applied for an updated i20, I haven't seen it yet and my interview date is fast approaching.

But in a situation your school dates start’s January on your i20 and got a date for February.

How do I follow it up please?

Sorry for the late post, but some of the pics here include pic from walmart parking lot, my city at night time, and a map from when I went to cedar point as well as the mac and cheese i had lol. If only NL allows vid upload I would have posted a lot. but sadly I rarely take photos. and for now not really going out cos I have school so wait till winter break, I will post snow falls pics and more pics I promise.

I rescheduled once to January 4th 2024

But now the "Reschedule" option is no longer showing on my portal.
the new policy is you can only reschedule once or twice per MRV i forgotten which

ME: A colleague of mine did his MBA at Murray State University and recommended the school to me. Also, Public and community health program is broad in its orientation and allows students to address topics ranging from narrative approaches to understanding health counselling, health behavior, environmental health and strategies used to implements health interventions which align with my career goal.The school was also ranked among 2023 Best Graduate school for Masters of public Administration by U.S news and world report.

VO: I see you have no funding, who is paying for this??
ME: My husband will be my sponsor

VO: What does your husband do?
ME: He is a medical doctor at Federal Medical center, ABK. He also supplies medical equipments such as electrosurgery, pulse oximetry,orthoscope, microscope and so on.

VO: How much does he earn??
ME: He earns #600,000

VO: Does your husband has this $17,000 in his account??
ME:Yes he has it

VO: Sorry, you are not qualified

What actually went wrong??
I watched slots of YouTube video s that says "do not show the VO documents unless you are asked to". I was expecting her to ask for my proof of funds but she didn't. I should have indicated that my husband earns #600,000 monthly.
I need your suggestions house.

I know I messed up during my answers I actually didn't do any research I just went there thinking it was going to be an easy something but it was not. So please I need advice I'm going again and I don't want to mess it up again if there is any WhatsApp group for mock interviews and Abuja appointment date I will really appreciate it if someone can add me up

Hello Japaites. Please I need advice. I omitted a lot of stuff when filling my DS160 for my first interview. Now that I'm going again I'm thinking of including all. Problem is that my work experience doesn't show a career progression. For instance I switched from Data science to interior design and so on (thanks to the naija job market). What I'll like to know is if the VO will have access to my former DS160 to see what I submitted during my first interview. Thank y'all for your advice in advance 🙏🏾

please do I need an additional document to take with me for the interview, to prove that I defer my admission to spring? Or is it after I receive my visa then I will now use the Visa approval to defer my admission or what? Please explain please 🙏

Sure thing I go ride on today I go tell una why u need to make sure u take all your vaccinations before you leave 9ja for USA.

I learned the hard way so I decide to shear this with you because experience they say is the best teacher.

Okay so before you leave Nigeria for America, make sure I repeat make sure you take all your vaccinations ooo i.e yellow fever, chicken purse, titanus etc.



Most people only know about the yellow fever vaccine where you get the yellowbook to aid you board the plane for your flight. No it doesn't stop there. Before you leave Nigeria and come here, try and get ur updated medical vaccine and record.
When u come here u must do medical check up either to do medical exams for school sports or physical or for your medical exams for your permanent residency,
They must request for your medical result and if you don't show your update medical result, you will have to go do medical test and take new vaccination shots for all of them and it will cost you more than you will every imagine.

To sum it up in Nigeria to do that vaccinations will not cost you more than 20 thousand naira from a registered hospital and get your updated medical records OR, if you decide to come here before you decide on getting your vaccinations, it will cost you a minimum of $700 to $1200 depending on the state you live so please get yourself updated before you leave...

I have been following this thread for a while now and have learnt a lot thanks to you guys who keep answering questions and giving your bright ideas.

Pls I have a serious concern.
My sister Inlaw is in USA on F1 visa last year meant to finish this year and my sponsor is her husband whom is my brother, also I put her US address as my landing address when I enter USA. Now I have two concerns:

1). Since her husband is my Sponsor, should I declare that I have a relation in USA on my DS 160 form or not??

2). Will my sponsor or the address info link me to her and show the VO that I actually have a relation in the USA if I say no(cos that’s what I really want to do)??

I am considering deferring to spring which my school has also suggested to me but my fear is the vo denying me because it's too early for the nxt yr spring semester or wanting me to reapply again because this is my second Attempt in Lagos

Hello everyone, my interview is on Aug 3 and I have just two questions.
- I’ve seen so many transcript here so I would like to ask, for the people that got approved, did you submit all documents and left with none or did you submit just passport and I-20 and left with other documents?
- After getting approved how many days did it take for your passport or any other documents to be returned?
My program start date is August 11 and I just want to know if I’ll get my passport and other documents back before that date.

If you don’t have answers to the above questions but you have any helpful insights regarding any part of the F-1 Visa interview, PLEASE DO QUOTE THIS POST.

In my own opinion u talk too much,in US visa interview u only answer what u are asked.he only ask u ur sponsor,u answered ur father full stop.it was when u are asked what he do for living then that is when u tell him he is a CEO,u also went ahead to mention his annual earning,when u were not asked.ur over talk na him fail u.

Nigerians talk too much. The last 2 answers are the reason you were denied. Always answer the question you are asked. Don't give long answers or unnecessary information.

Cos u haven't been to the US, no family member there, and u are visiting a student...


All attributes points you won't be coming bk and will possibly be an overstay.

If ur father earns 50m annually, u won't be visiting a student but instead he should get u a PR elsewhere for a start..They are trained to detect lies easily...

If u go there again and change ur mouth from this lies you kept in their records, oyo is ur name.

This is my second time of applying,I was rejected dy first time nd I think is due to my lack if travel experience.
