voiceofnigeria: President Goodluck Jonathan today urged all Nigerians to be patient for another four or five years for the country to be better, Punch reports.
The president was speaking in today’s Sunday service at Christ Apostolic Church, Area 1, Durunmi, Abuja where he worshiped.
He assured Nigerians that his administration was working hard to put Nigeria on the right path but warned that the result of their efforts might not be visible immediately.
He opined that if the present achievements of his administration is sustained, Nigeria would become a better place in the next four or five years.
The president also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for his government with assurances that he and his team will continue to give their all in the discharge of their duties.
He said, “For me and members of my team, in spite of the challenges, we will continue to do our best. “As a nation, we have not reached where we want to be, definitely not. But we are coming up with a number of policies.
“Those who are taking pain to look at what we are doing will agree with us that if we progress as a nation steadily in this manner, in the next four or five years, this country will be a better place.”
Just yesterday, Former president Ibrahim Babangida urged all Nigerians, who mean well for the country, to support the President.

http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeriall-be-a-better-place-in-five-years-says-jonathan/ If not for the formidable forces bent on marring jonathan's administration, he would have performed much better. I can't stop imagining why some people in a plural society like ours, have sworn to rule others forever otherwise, hell shall constantly be let loose! May God have his way in Nigeria's situation. |

If Buhari wins next year, please make sure you don't commit suicide sha. You wish! |
Politics › Re: North Must Produce President In 2015 – ACF, Others by Krisddon: 2:16pm On Dec 28, 2014 |
PassingShot: There is a clear difference between Buhari's statement and an agreement entered into by Jonathan to do one term.
The difference is that Buhari's was a statement never based on any condition. Jonathan's was premised on a condition. Something like "if you do this for me, I will do this for you in return".
So he entered into a proper agreement that if the North supports him to be president, he will do one term and the presidency will return to them. And he is morally obliged to fulfill it. Just like me telling you that if you come with me, I will buy you a dinner. If you indeed come with me, I'll be morally responsible for your dinner.
Can this same meaning be made from Buhari's statement? No.
Hope I'm clear.
And on that of speaking for other regions and tribes you must understand that the statement is just what it is. It doesn't mean all Yorubas will vote for Buhari just as not all Christians and south-southerners will vote for Jonathan. Even as I don't know you, your degree of foolishness embarrasses me right in my living room! What agreement are you talking about? Oh, Jonathan had an agreement with the almighty North (the king makers). Let thou not be deceived, if Buhari would rule, he would have won in the previous election. Ooops He's lost forever! |

PassingShot: Before you react to this, please answer this question objectively:
If you were in same position as the North with the agreement reached with the clueless one, would you have acted differently?
Even the South rejects Jonathan as well!
The North rejects him for going back on his agreement of one term only. If found in same situation as them, I will take similar decision.
We the Yorubas reject him on the basis of performance and for calling our leaders rascals smong many other blunders.
The Itsekiris and Urhobos reject him for allowing Tompolo to trample on them and for marginalization.
Other well meaning Nigerians, irrespective of tribe and religion reject him for corruption and sbsence of security in the land.
The International Community rejects him for being so clueless and incompetent which has made us become a laughing stock in the committee of nations.
The voice of the people is the voice of God.
GMB 2015. You are the worse fool of the century! What agreement have Jonathan with the North? Oh, you mean the North is empowered by the constitution to produce the president? Or it's your birth right to determine who rules? Stupid born to rule mentality! Stop him if you can!!! |

Anasko: The Opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, will commence the ‘walk the ward’ campaign today, with the aim of reaching Nigerians at the ward level.
This was disclosed by the Vice-presidential candidate of the party, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo via his twitter page.
He said, “Good morning, Nigeria. We will be doing a “Walk The Ward” today, to meet and talk to Nigerians, about our vision. The communal spirit used to be so strong, but we all seem to be losing it. It’s time to get it back. We will try to visit your ward too…”. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/apc-begins-walk-ward-campaign/?utm_source=&utm_medium=facebook Please can any one tell me even a single policy of APC? Ever since the registration of the party, they have focused more on criticising Jonathan rather than presenting their policy agenda. Present your planned polices and they will speak louder than words. Even as Atiku lost, before the primaries were contested, he was posting his economic plans on facebook but on a general level, APC hasn't presented anything as their policy. So I ask, what will they do when they take over governance? What is the change all about? All we hear more often than not is that Jonathan is clueless. So since APC has a clue for better governance, what's keeping them from presenting it? |

Career › Re: Judicial Workers To Embark On Nationwide Strike January 2 by Krisddon: 9:48pm On Dec 26, 2014 |
lalasticlala: The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has lamented the failure of stakeholders to respect the last memorandum of understanding regarding financial autonomy of the Judiciary.
JUSUN therefore announced that union will commence an indefinite strike from January 2, 2015.
Rising from an emergency meeting of its National Executive Committee (NEC), in Abuja, the union explained that the strike became imperative, considering the “rough terrain encountered by the union to make the governors implement the judgment of Federal High Court delivered on 13th January, 2014 but fall on deaf ears.”
The a communique jointly signed by the union President, comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu and Assistant General Secretary, Comrade Placidus Nnamani, stated that it is obvious that the state Governors were deliberately disobeying and frustrating the independence of Judiciary.
JUSUN said their action amounts to a level of “insincerity and insensitive” of the Governors and the insecurity in the process of democratic principles as they have conspired not to allow a constitutional guaranteed and provided partner to exercise its due rights.’
JUSUN accused the Accountant General of the Federation of compromising his position and authority imposed on him by the court order.
The union had suspended its previously intended strike following the last Memorandum of understanding supervised by the Minister of Labour reached on 27th November, 2014.
JUSUN warned that “the indefinite strike shall commence from 2nd day of January 2015, until the total compliance with the judgment of the Court, and the terms contained in the Memorandum of understandring”, adding the union will not take responsibility of any mishap as a result of the breach.
Some of the efforts of the union includes securing a Court judgment in a suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/66/2013, JUSUN vs National Judicial Council and 73 others, serving of the said judgment on the debtors, the Federal Accountant General, State Accountants general and state auditor general for compliance and until the statutory period of appeal, and now none of the judgment debtors or the parties served with the Court order have appealed against it.
JUSUN, however said, ”we think, it is time to free the Judiciary from the captives, stangulations and imprisonments by the state governors.”
http://dailypost.ng/2014/12/26/judiciary-workers-embark-nationwide-strike-january-2/ I'm not surprised cos even fuel subsidy was removed on 1st January. Insensitivity @ its peak! Let them go on strike & God will take over judgement! 'Continu' |

How can a state governor have the time or be reduced to the position of a mere campaign director (he has the time to be driver, servant and thief) for a bunch of loosers eating his stolen state money? Chai what an insult on Rivers state. rivers people are the real fools here. Impeach the berger already!!!! Amaechi is politically frivolous. He is finished already! Having done all registrations AT THE IYANA IPAJA ORIENTATION NYSC CAMP IN LAGOS, and collected my kit from the PLATOON 7 OFFICER, my joy knew no bound as i put a call to my parents and siblings informing them that I am now a "CORPER".....It was indeed a great day as we all washed and ironed our khaki in readiness of the swearing in ceremony scheduled to hold on MONDAY THE FIRST DAY OF DECEMBER , 2014. On that fateful Friday, little did i know that the tradional lecture by the Oba of ifako Kingdom will be the last activity i will witness as a BATCH C 14 CORP MEMBER...
At exactly 7PM at the close of parade activities that fateful day, I received a phone call from an unknow number, only to be informed that my attention was needed urgently at the CAMP SECRETARIAT. I quickly left my band group and went to the secretariat only to see other colleaugues of mine FROM MICHAEL OKPARA UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE UMUDIKE sweating profusely like Christmas goats....
WE WERE TOLD THAT OUR COURSE LOST ACCREDITATION AND HENCE WE WERE TO BE DECAMPED. Before i could say jack, my khaki and other kits were collected from me and an army hilux van moved us out of the camp and dropped us along Ikeja bustop.......
I CHECKED THE TIME ON MY WATCH AND IT WAS 9PM.....
WE STARTED PUTING CALLS TO OUR SCHOOL BUT ALL WE GOT WAS THAT WE WILL BE REMOBILISED BY BATCH A 2015.
FELLOW NAIRALANDERS, I FEEL SOO SAD AND TEARS CANT ALLOW ME WRITE MY STORY FUTHER ...PLEASE WHAT DO I DO?..... EVERYONE HAS LOST HOPES ON ME AND I FEEL SO CURSED.......DO I STAND A CHANCE OF SERVING AGAIN?....PLEASE ADVICE ME.....AND PLEASE MODERATOR MOVE THIS STORY TO FRONTPAGE AND POSSIBLY LET IT GET TO MEDIA HOUSES I BELIEVE THAT WILL MAKE MY SCHOOL RISE UP TO THE CHALLENGE OF GETTING THE PROGRAMS INVOLVED ACCREDITED AND SAVE THE FUTURE OF THOSE COMING BEHIND ME.
AS I SPEAK NOW OTHER STATES HAVE STARTED DEMOBILISING OUR STUDENTS WHO READ BANKING AND FINANCE, MARKETING AND ACCOUNTING. Bro, the problem would be fixed. It wasn't your fault and u weren't the only one affected so therefore, be rest assured it will take perhaps a little time but surely it's gonn be over. If you were decamped as a result of any offence, it would have been a different case but it's a case of accreditation which requires some bureaucratic measures to get it resolved. You will be recalled soon believe me & cheer up. |
