Omicronvaccine: If My Wife Does Everything I Tell Her To Do, Then She's My Child, Not My Wife - Nigerian Man
A Nigerian Relationship and Marriage counsellor, AJ Morgan has taken to Twitter to kick against the ideology that a woman must do everything her husband tells her to do, IGBERETV reports.
He stated that if his wife does everything he tells her to do, then she is his child and not his wife.
Kdsml: Merry xmas every1. Hope you all are having a great night. I nid advice pls
I am married with a kid, my husband traveled out of the country for a greener pasture, I moved out of our rented house and relocated back to my mom's place.
We had sold our properties for 300k he told me he doesn't know how long it will take him to get a job in the new country and I should use the 300k to start up a business so i will be able to take care of our daughter until he will be stable in the new country.
I have decided to start selling foodstuffs in the front of the house and i will use the remaining money for my daughter school fees in January.
My mom asked me to borrow her 120k to pay for my brother school fee and i refused explaining to her why i can't give her the money and she has been giving attitudes and refused to speak to me, i went to the market today i bought xmas clothes for my daughter and a wrapper for my mom she rejected it.
I know she is doing all this for me to give her the money but i will not give it to her no matter what. I don't understand why she is angry when she knows that my husband is not around i should use the money wisely because if i am broke i have no one else to help me.
Am i wrong for refusing to help her?
You're very right and noble, do not give her ,let do her do her worst. When things gets better she will be rewarded in multiple fold. You're a very decent child judging by your demeanor, just be focused, she will be alright
ramalot: I have gained some insights into different societies and cultures, by traveling far and wide. Not as a weekend tourist, but spending extended time in those places, and living an everyday life. Some of that information/experience might be useful to someone here.
The main point of this AMAA is mostly to answer questions of curiosity. Just random things you wonder about more obscure and less popular places (which I prefer to visit). I'm calling it "Ask Me Almost Anything," because I will not be answering certain questions.
Some questions I can't answer:
1.Questions about visa processes: I simply don't know, as I travel visa-free on a US passport, in almost all cases.
2.Questions about "hustling" as a documented or undocumented resident.
I have a web-based business in the US. So I work remotely, wherever I am.
A few things to note:
1. When I say "lived in a country," I don't mean permanently. I use that for countries I spend at least 1 month. I typically spend anywhere from 1- 3 months per country. In a few cases, I've stayed as long as 6, 10 and 12 months in some countries.
2. I travel on a US passport. I keep renewing my Naija passport each time it expires, but I never actually use it. Latest one I got in New York expired some months ago. I only used it once, in visiting Naija.
3. I am less interested in visiting "first world countries," as I find them boring. So most of my travels are to developing countries, but mostly those I still have access to solid accommodation and amenities. I have a business to run, so I can't be without reliable internet.
I find these countries more diverse in culture and lifestyle. First world countries are too structured and predictable.
4. I don't stay in hotels. I rent full Airbnb apartments, as I typically stay in a place for a few months and prefer to feel at home. I only stay in a hotel, if I need to, for 1-2 days while in transit, or something.
5. I've been learning Spanish for a long time, and speak decent enough conversational Spanish, and basic Portuguese.
Some countries I've been (including Nigeria, where I grew up):
Africa: 1. Nigeria 2. Benin Republic 3. Ethiopia (multiple visits) 4. South Africa
Latin America (South, Central, North): 5. Brazil 6. Colombia (multiple visits) 7. Argentina 8. Uruguay 9. Ecuador 10. Chile 11. Costa Rica 12. Peru 13. Panama 14. Dominican Republic 15. Mexico 16. Paraguay
Europe: 17. England (multiple visits) 18. Portugal 19. Netherlands (Amsterdam)
Asia: 20. Thailand (multiple visits) 21. Vietnam 22. Singapore 23. Indonesia 24. Philippines 25. Hong Kong 26. South Korea 27. China 28. Malaysia
North America: 29. USA (where I live) 30. Canada
Bonus (transits only, without bothering to leave the airport) 31. Moscow, Russia - 6 hours 32. Lome, Togo 33. Doha, Qatar
Current location: Buenos Aires, Argentina (Yes, there will be epic street parties if Argentina wins tomorrow!)
All pictures I post on this thread were taken with my phone. None are edited in any way.
Hello bro,I am here too, this are my childhood dreams and would love we talk about how you made it this far.
Its something I want to do in future when I eventually get my blue passport any moment.
ExAngel007: Nigerian writer, Koromone has recounted how a man destroyed their longtime friendship after he kissed her without her consent.
In a Twitter thread, Koromone mentioned that they were at a gathering when the man kissed her without her consent. She said she immediately expressed her anger at his action and left the place.
She added that she didn't strike the man because she isn't a violent person but that she would not hesitate the next time such a thing happens.
envoymedia: Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shared new photos of herself and her lover as they celebrate Christmas together, IGBERETV reports.
I can't judge from distance but all this ladies disconnecting those kids from their dad's thinking they're independent. Hmm they're brewing future tyrant and rebels. Those children will grow up thinking their father is a dead beat without finding out properly what went wrong in some cases. Alot of those women are here in the state, they end up been government responsibility. I pray they settle it for the children's sake.
LibertyRep: Wike may inadvertently sway some sympathy votes towards Atiku.
Maybe more turn out in the north but in the south I don't see it happening. Its not even north turn,Atiku should have make himself a gentleman. But whatever happens its there cup
Xeeex: I'm experiencing something similar. I'm dating this Mexican girl and she also want me to go there.
If it makes sense then go, there's room for growth from there I guess
Bro don't go to Mexico please if you don't want your Sapa to double, stay in Naija.
I lived here in the state and I have been in Mexico couple of times, no difference between that place and Naija, infact Spanish language is a serious barrier.
UselessBuharist: I won’t be single next year, I’m coming to Nigeria to get married. I never see the girl sha
If you are single and responsible apply and you must be gainfully employed, not a club girl and must be family oriented.
Bro be careful please, I just got out of one last week, those ladies always think all is rosy untill they're up and close to see your personal struggle and start misbehaving. If you stay abroad and dating Naija girls, you're a side piece, atm, provider etc,or at most last resort. ,
Jennyclay: When I mean elderly men, I mean men in their 60s and above. These set of men are the most romantic men on earth. They are the best. No wonder Regina Daniels choose Ned nwoko over Somadina.
Even though it seems like child molestation when they try to make advances but then, they are so caring, they will give you listening ears, they will pet you and carry you like a pot made of clay, they will send you enough money regularly.
But you see our young men, they are so rude, arrogant, broke, wicked and evil. They don't know how to take good care of their girlfriend but they want to experience true love. Mtchhheeewwww.
Recently a guy sent me 7k to take myself out. E gba mi, 7k? Edakun is it for garri or what? 7k can't even buy my body cream or perfume and he's telling me to take myself out with 7k. I just told him I'm not interested, I don't need his money. Instead for the shameless broke guy to give himself some standard by saying don't worry dear, I can't collect the money back... The broke guy still went ahead to send me his account details for refund. Trust me, I sent him back his money then block him.
Low standard unromantic broke young men everywhere. Shior.
Clap for yourself, come back here with another story when you're 40s and no man yet.
Okupe sentenced to 2 years in prison for money laundering
This reportedly happened between the lawyer representing Doyin Okupe and some security personnel
The court sentenced him to two years imprisonment on count 34 with an option of a fine of N500,000.
Doyin Okupe has been found guilty of receiving over N200 million cash from former National Security Adviser (NSA) Col. Sambo Dasuki and sentenced to two years imprisonment.
Only in Nigeria, someone collected 200m and was convicted by law court but was only asked to pay 500k fine?
Mino1000: Hi everyone, so I met this beautiful babe June this year and we started dating three months later. We genuinely loved each other and we had a relationship that people envied.
We trusted each other so much that I had access to her google account and all her personal info on my laptop, while she also had mine on her phone to cut the long story short, I have a problem of always getting worried whenever she is not home and I can't reach her for example if she leaves in a bolt and the journey is 30minutes but she is not reachable one hour later I start to worry and call people I feel are at home and even the bolt rider.
On this particular day, she had a meeting with her colleagues which just came into the country, she shared her live location but it was last updated an hour ago, she was not picking her calls and it was 11:45pm mind you she was in Ikeja and lives at lekki so she was still going to Lekki that night in this dangerous December month in Lagos. I called and called but she did not pick then I got so worried and went to her google contacts to get her boss number and called him. He told her I called and that is how trouble started.
She explained that nobody has his number and she is the middle man between him and clients so his number getting into my hands without her permission means his company info is not safe. She said I have destroyed all what she labored to build over the years and blocked me everywhere (phone, whatsapp, snapchat) and left me with only instagram access. I have been begging her since last night when this happened, but she only unblocked me to tell me not to call her again and blocked me back.
I have been trying to explain to her that relationship and marriage is full of challenges so she should not let this one destroy what we had but she has been ignoring me. If I call with a different number she hangs up immediately she hears my voice.
We were already talking about marriage and in fact, I had already started making arrangements for a proposal next year.
I swear I really love this lady with everything that I have and I know for a fact that she loved me too but right now I am confused I am wondering how she was so much in love with me yesterday morning but doesn’t even want to hear my voice today. She went as far as threatening to get me arrested if I come close to her house. I am really confused and need mature advice on what to do to save this relationship because right now I can’t focus on anything. Plus I trust her so I wasn’t calling because I thought she was doing something silly.
Welcome to simplicity group Mr nice guy.
Untill some of us learn the hard way,you see all the adulterated olosho calling wife materials are hoes,You just busted her big God channel and you are here saying trash bro thank your stars. You just dodge a bullet, move on real quick thats what real OG does.
I visited my 120-year-old grandmother and gave her some money when I was leaving and she told me she doesn't need money again.
That she can no longer buy or sell at her age, so I should give the money to the younger ones who need it.
I also have a former governor friend whom I worked with as a greenhorn PA. He was governor from 1999-2007. Not too long ago, I saw him.
After check-in, he was left seated by the corner of the Murtala Mohammed international airport awaiting his flight.
No one even recognized him again, not even passengers from the State where he was governor, and as I walked up to him and greeted him, then asked if he wanted any assistance, he stretched forth his trembling hands to hold me and simply said,
"Thank you for even recognizing me again. I just want your attention briefly my daughter . Sit down let me ask you something.
How is your Governor doing?"
I also have a retired Major General friend whom I served as a golf caddy at the NDA golf course in Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna. He was so rich he built a beautiful house he was so proud of.
I visited him too not long ago and wanted us to climb to our favorite spot on his balcony upstairs.
He stared at me with a broad smile and said, "IT, I can't remember the year I went up there. It is lizards and cobwebs and the likes that live there now.
Even the kids, when they come, they don't enjoy my company in the house any more than a few hours and they are gone.
I don't have the limbs to climb up there again and the cost of cleaning keeps getting higher."
I have seen a lot more things. How yesterday became the day before, how today became yesterday, and how tomorrow became today.
How the past became history, how the present became the past, and how the future became the present. Nothing ever remains where it is.
Your strength, your muscles, your beauty, your wealth, your guts, your worth, your courage, your talent, your YOU, will progressively diminish until it returns to its source.
The richest man in the world in the 1960s will not be on the payroll of the richest man in the world today!
Even the strongest lion in the jungle will someday become weak, and frail and be eaten by the same predators it once terrorized.
Keep that in mind always and know that no matter how appealing and tempting that thing may seem, our interest in it will diminish with time.
Our strength to consume or own it will vanish with time until everything is surely taken away from us or we are surely taken away from everything!
"Nothing is permanent in this world".
Wishing you very Reflective Times.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!
You hit me straight in the face, thank you for this piece
piecuntie: HI NAIRALANDERS ; I am about to seperate from husband who sponsored me in school because I am fed up.
I came from a very poor family. I met my husband when I was 19. He wasn't doing well either, he told me he was an engineer in a public hospital but as time went on I got to know he was a level 3 plumber in the civil service.
Well I was young, naive, hungry and blindly in love. He went to trade school and I encouraged him to go back to school for HND or bsc but he said he was going to sponsor me first. I got pregnant for him in my first year in school when I was 20yrs old, my mom was against it. I got to know he was 13years older than me while pregnant. HE TOLD ME HE WAS 26yrs old.
My mom wanted me to abort it, instead i packed my things and stayed with him. He abused my mom and I defended him. I gave birth while in school and he continued to support me both financially. We fought during those period, series of red flag but I decided to ignore it as long he wasn't beating me. He abused me emotionally. He knew my family was poor and there was no where i could go.
I finished school and my friends told me not to marry a plumber, I declined and told them he promised to go to school.
I finished school and i was scared of depending on him with my child, we were not doing fine at all.
I had no choice than to date a rich guy who helped me with a good job in the year 2017. HE got to know about the guy and i broke up with him. I apologized and we GOT MARRIED LEGALLY and got pregnant with my second child. We spent only 150k.
All the money i made from my salary, I made sure i supported him, i moved out of the family house in the year 2019, we have been there for 8yrs, he couldnt afford to rent a house, I spent 400k, both of us had no friends, we only had each other. I helped my brother and they did well in business. I asked my husband to go back to school, he was still adamant.
We went to a traditional person and they told him there is a curse on his head that i should bathe and do some sacrifice for him, which i did.
By year 2020 he was doing fine, we didn't even go hungry during the lockdown, I supported him with 2million naira and we did our traditional marriage.
IT was his business patners who were notorious cheat and neglected their wife that did his groom men, They introduced him to an association, i have asked him what is the aim of the association, he cant tell me, it is a secret.
3 months after the wedding, he started cheating and even beat me for the first time on our wedding anniversary becaus of the girl, When he saw i withdrawed all financia assistant like paying half of the rent and paying one of the kids school fees. he called family members to beg me and we settled and i bought a family car for us to use.
Since then i have been walking on eggs around him, he tells me i should respect his age that we are not mate, he beat me again last 3 months saying i am as proud as my mother and i abused his mother back.
This monday i had to run after bus to go to work because i told im i was looking for mOney, and he said i just call him a thief. I had no money on me i had to call my brother to give me money. He wasnt even bothered. He doesn't call me again, WE DONT GO OUT AGAIN
I don't stress him for expensive outing our wigs or phone. I bought my phone or trip myself out. He would rather hang out with his friends. He tells his friends and the kids i wear cheap outfits.
My mind is now strong. I don't cry again if he offends me nor complain.
I want to divorce him , sell the car and use it for this UK study route and take my children as dependent without him knowing. I am tired of the marriage already. He is 44 while I am 31. i want to move on with my life.
Sorry for the long write up
I don't care what anyone will tell you, I am a man but with exceptions, before you brake down outrightly please seek help and take care of yourself first, also remember to do or take those decisions that are in your best interests. If you're my kid sister I will do same as am doing now.
I heard a story long time ago about how this lady was shipped to a particular big man in Lagos as runs but the man end up sending her away complaining of her unhygienic under part and body odor, lol
