Car TalkRe: Installmental Payment Plan For Cars by KunleA2(m): 4:32pm On Aug 20, 2009
Behind bobo:
NA BY FORCE TO BUY BIG CARhuh??Everybody get size ooo.If u cant afford it then dont grow grey hair thinkin of how to meet up in order to impress. The main reason u should own a car is to get around in a decent car no matter how small.Once your car has a nice deck,a/c tight alloy wheels and a tight engine what more do u need.Buy a car u can afford to own and maintain.
Well said. Why its hard for ppl to understand is beyond me. Credit is a good thing. However its a double edge sword. Once you get it, you are under pressure to pay up or meet up. Only in Nigeria ppl take loans without the plan of paying back. undecided

Rebuilt/Reconstructed Title
A Rebuilt/Reconstructed vehicle is a salvage vehicle that has been repaired and restored to operation. These vehicles are often severely damaged before they are rebuilt and refurbished parts are typically used during reconstruction. In most states, an inspection of the vehicle is required before the vehicle is allowed to return to the road.
Manufacturer Buyback or Lemon Title
A DMV or a state agency marks an official document or issues a Manufacturer Buyback/Lemon title when a vehicle has been repurchased by the manufacturer. Not all states issue manufacturer buyback titles and the specific requirements for a lemon law vehicle varies by state.
Odometer Rollback
If a more recent odometer reading is less than an older reading, then the odometer may have been tampered with and "rolled back".
Manufacturer Recall
Automobile manufacturers issue recall notices to inform owners of car defects that have come to the manufacturer's attention. Recalls also suggest improvements that can be made to improve the safety of a particular vehicle. Most manufacturer recalls can be repaired at no cost to you.
Basic Warranty
Most manufacturers offer a basic warranty for new vehicles. These warranties vary by manufacturer and typically last for a certain amount of time and/or a set number of miles.
Not Actual Mileage Title
When the seller certifies, under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading does not reflect the vehicle's actual mileage. This may occur because the odometer was tampered with, broken, or replaced.
Junk Title
A Junk Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds ~ 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. The majority of states use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage.
Loss Due To Fire Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to fire. In most states, fire damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Exceeds Mechanical Limits Title
A vehicle with a 5-digit odometer cannot accurately track mileage after 99,999 miles because the odometer rolls over. This title is the result of a seller certifying under the Federal Odometer Act, that the odometer reading EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMITS of the odometer.
Structural / Frame Damage
In most cases, a vehicle is inspected for structural or frame damage, depending on the body design, after an accident or other incident. All levels of accidents from minor to severe can cause structural / frame damage and in most cases it can be repaired.
Airbag Deployment
Occurs when the driver, passenger or side airbag has been used or deployed during a crash or other incident. If an airbag has been deployed, it must be replaced by a qualified technician. Have this car inspected by a mechanic prior to purchase.
Salvage Title
A Salvage Title is issued on a vehicle damaged to the extent that the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds ~ 75% of its pre-damage value. This damage threshold may vary by state. Some states treat Junk titles the same as Salvage but the majority use this title to indicate that a vehicle is not road worthy and cannot be titled again in that state. The following eleven States also use Salvage titles to identify stolen vehicles - AZ, FL, GA, IL, MD, MN, NJ, NM, NY, OK and OR.
Total Loss
An insurance or fleet company declares a vehicle a total loss when a claim exceeds ~ 75% of its pre-damage value or if the vehicle is stolen and not recovered. This damage threshold varies by company. These companies typically take possession and obtain the title. Not all total loss vehicles result in a DMV-reported branded title, like a Salvage or Junk title. See the glossary for more information.
Accident / Damage Indicator
Various events could indicate an accident or damage in a vehicle's history, such as: salvage auction, fire damage, police-reported accident, crash test vehicle, damage disclosure, collision repair facility and automotive recycler records. See the glossary for more information.
Hail Damage Title
The vehicle sustained major damage due to hail. In most states, hail damage titles are issued when the cost of repairing the vehicle for safe operation exceeds its fair market value.
Flood Damage Title
States issue flood titles when a vehicle has been in a flood or has received extensive water damage.

SmartBuyer Checklist - I've created a checklist of specific questions for you to ask the seller about this 1998 Toyota Landcruiser.
[/b]

Folks, i just requested for the VIN report on what the seller provided. What i can say is that it cant be true. The jeep is right hand drive. Cant be from the US. Hence wasnt supposed to have a US record.

The whole deal is a fraud or the seller/poster was just trying to jerk your chains
.

If its too good to be true, it probably is. How much is the shipping and clearing for the guy to sell at that price?

TravelRe: 80% Of Visa Documents Are Fake - Ambassador by KunleA2(m): 1:08pm On Aug 18, 2009
kood:
I do not know what is true? that 80% of Nigerian apply for visa with fake documents? And what are the fake documents?
Again, what do you expect the white ppl you mentioned to come and do in Nigeria when there country are good.
Even if the figures were true the embassies created the avenue for people to apply with fake documents. If you have ever read Eu Laws you will understand what am saying here. You dont make things quite difficult for people. Of course you can refuse visa after interview and that you find out that this person that have geninue reason for visiting your county.  check most of the european laws for example they dont make it difficult for their people and again you must provide alternative means. In case of Nigeria create jobs and provide social amenities. Of which this countries that are complaining of fake documents can help do.
one of the job of ministry of foriegn affairs is to improve the image of their countries abroad and attract investors. So our ambassador what to tell other countries that Nigeria is full of fakes. So beware!
So whose fault is it when our guys reach the foreign country and start misbehaving? There are lots of Nigerians in various prisons (or death row) for drug offences. I am not sure that there's a country in the world that have a positive image of Nigerians. NONE!. So is it the problem of the country or we need to police ourself. We complain of being treated bad yet we will not behave properly when we get to these countries.

Despite the death penalty in Malaysia or Saudi Arabia, we still have ppl smuggling drugs th these countries and getting caught. Even neighboring African countries have their hands full dealing with Nigerians every time they turn around. So na we be the only one living overseas?

I strongly believe that almost all countries have a Nigerian in their prison system at one time or the other.
TravelRe: 80% Of Visa Documents Are Fake - Ambassador by KunleA2(m): 12:05am On Aug 18, 2009
amobii:
I dont know why an ambassador would come up with a figure without a proof, where is the 80% and 80% of what population, statistics is not just we can assume, 80% is such a huge figure that our leader need to investigate very well, we keep spoiling our image and we think we are doing better by coming out with figures. This so called white people we see have their own  sh*t as well, what about the benefit fraud in UK, they lies with fake documents to claim benefit, what about highest bribery scandal in oil sector, with their so called multinational companies, how many of them paid corporation tax,  now one useless politician, who is just fortunate to get a portfolio should shut his mouth up and look for work.  Fake ko fake  ni,  shocked
Which is true. White ppl have their own sh*t!. But how many of them do you see thronging to Nigeria Embassy to go to Nigeria by all means necessary? More often than not, when our ppl get overseas, some are not good ambassador of the country. What do you want oyibo to do. Rather than take advantage of opportunity, we abuse it. When there are too many false documents, then its only right for them to deny good documents cos the % of fakes are more than real hence the system is overtaken by suspicion.

The only difference with their system is that the % of fakes are minimal compared to the real ones. Their system can still survive. Its still their country and they can do whatever they want. Issue visa or deny it, they have the right!

TravelRe: 80% Of Visa Documents Are Fake - Ambassador by KunleA2(m): 8:22pm On Aug 17, 2009
All i can say is that everyone reading this piece know someone (let me assume its not yourself) that has procure or tried to procure a visa with "fake documents". This does not necessarily mean that the document in itself is fake. it might mean that the process u arfe using the document itself for is fake.

If i claim my uncle to be my dad cos he has a huge bank account. His bank account might be legit, however claiming him as my uncle is false. Hence i am making a fake claim with a genuine document.

We can jump on this guy's throat all we want. But i think he's up to something. Nigerians don't like the truth.

I feel you should look at the area of buying and selling of stuff that people are really in need, you may not venture into any business that will require constant electricity, so that you will not be frustrated.
Good luck!!!
If you gonna look into that, you need to make sure that its something that will move very quickly cos you will need to have a price markup of about 30% to be able to make a profit. Cos you are getting the loan at 19%. Your markup should be higher than your loan rate plus other expenses of getting the product like transportation, bribery oga police  grin, storage/storekeeper etc.

That is on the assumption that you have one turnover per year. However, lets say you plan in having the money yield about 50% per year and you can turn around a particular product 4 times a year, that will break down to about 12.5% per trip. So you might markup to 20% to cater for all the business spending like we talked. Take away the 19% (totals almost 80% per year) and that is when you can make a living and save a little for u.

Just make sure u buy things that move. You can definately do better than the fixed deposit. A lot of ppl in Naija are armchair investors who wanna be successful with little effort but you can do better.

Good luck to you.
