Benniewank:There are two issues at stake here. First, a 1998 can only come thru Cotonou. Second, because its a Cotonou car, i will only get involved if its 100% paid upfront. Which i am not sure how comfortable is that with you. I am registered used car dealer here in California, i can help you locate it and ship it (Manual Camry's are a little difficult to find but not impossible). You will be responsible for the clearing thru cotonou. There are lots of reputable cotonou guys here on NL that can help you. My email is : promise72@yahoo.com Let me know. |
George_D:Well said!!! comcentury:Even after a month of original posting of ad? ![]() I am waiting for when it will be "convenient" for you ![]() |
But it can only come thru cotonou. u know ![]() Are u looking for a 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder? |
if you think you go sell car quick with np pics, na you sabi oooooooooo ![]() |
patrick45:I got ur drift now. Here's the deal: Dont forget that the truck will somehow need to get from Mississippi or anywhere you bought it to the port. Check that the cost is included in your calculation. The distance is considerable for me to believe that it will be included in the $8500. Also be prepared to pay $$$ to send your guy (and beg him too) to check out whatever you will be buying. You are welcomed to send him to this one posted here too. Ohio is much closer than mississippi. Either way you will need to pay! Things like tires, engine condition etc counts too. A new tire will cost you from N60k - N100k in Naija (depending on the Grade). Multiply that by 10 and you know what you are looking at. Brakes? rust? Hydraulic tipping system? Overall condition are all factors that will come into consideration at the end of the day. I will advise you to send your guy out to inspect the vehicle you are trying to get. Picture is nice but looking it personally is better and the closer the cheaper is it for you. BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY YOUR GUY TO DO IT!. He can help you out with his time but i doubt he's willing to foot the bill too. The choice is yours my friend. Good luck. |

baconline:U have my email. I will try and catch you on Yahoo too. Once again, its : promise72@yahoo.com |
cooljade:I am no way near Maryland (and don't know anyone now) but you can email me and will call you to put you thru : promise72@yahoo.com |
Yemialoyin:No. its $5800 for car $1150 to ship. Then you clear. Basically you pay $6950 and the vehicle will be sent to Lagos. U then clear yourself. |
thirdi:Be more specific. 2door? 4 door? 4cyl? 6cyl? automatic/manual? |
send me email at: promise72@yahoo.com I live in cali but in florida presently. i am still up. Do it quickly. Will call you 2nite. send me your phone number. |
patrick45:Friend, If you are looking for a good truck, i must confess to you that the budget you have is way too low. N2.3m will be $14,838 (@ 155/$). The shipping of the truck will be $4500 and about $1300 to clear in Naija. This will leave you with about $9000 to buy and transport the truck. That will not be left with much. Average transport cost will be about $500-$1000 from wherever you bought the truck to the port. That is reducing even further to about $8000. I do believe in miracles but it will be tough in this case. Even if you are getting a trailerhead. The dump truck of the 1975-1980 models will even be tough to get in that range. At least for a good running one, not to say something like a 1983. So the moral of the story is that "Be realistic and increase your budget". At least its still cheaper that buying in Naija. You are at least saving about N1-2m average. |
This is a very TALL order. Let go thru the numbers that cannot be negotiable. Budget:$7700 Shipping $1400 Clearing: $1600 Rest : $4700 With that money, i think may be you might be lucky to get something like an Altima/Maxima with a high mileage (130k or so) Also dont forget the cost of running around. Even at auctions, its not guaranteed that you will find what you are looking for the same day you went there. So theres a cost of going from one auction to the other etc. After you do get the car, there will be transportation cost or some type of delivery cost that will be involved. Certainly to the port. Also you WILL find one or two things to repair on the car. No matter what cos its used and its a 2002. ![]() Might be full service, oil change, tires, brakes, alignment etc. Thats why you need to reserve like $500 - $1,000. Especially its a gift, you want everything to work right before handing over the ride. What state are you in? I am glad that you are here yourself and you can see the ground yourself. So if you get a "better" deal in Naija be very careful cos nothing goes for nothing. If it can't be bought here cheap, it certainly cant be sold for cheap. Unless of course there's an issue with the car. What state are you in again? |
Where are you presently? You were inquiring about auctions and stuff the other thread. Are you talking of "all inclusive" price? Buying, shipping, clearing etc |
Most auctions should allow a preview on the day before the actual auction day. That is the day that they will let you test drive and hear the car run. NOT ON AUCTION DAY! cos everywhere is too busy. You need to go before the real auction date, hear the car run and get the VIN. You can then find out from the VIN by asking the people here on the site. Good luck.! |
mailmalc:I couldn't have said it better. Even getting the new gearbox is not a guarantee that you will not encounter the same problem again. My advise will be, SELL the car as soon as you are done fixing it and get a Toyota!!! Good luck. |
Nice Truck!!!!. Happy Sales! |
Arcayo:I respectfully disagree sir. EOD, especially V6 2003 are the poster child of problematic transmission problems of Honda. Will be more than willing to refer you to a site if you wish. Wish you quick sales. |
Dozermack:Thanks for the reply Jonathan. Do you by any chance have the measurement for a R tractor? Will like to get the quote on that too so that it will take the guessing out of the issue. We can know in tha ball park of how much it will cost in shipping |
liftedme:You price is too low friend, 700k - 750k will be like it for a used one too. Good luck |
german007:Sorry to burst your bubble, you are either misinformed or been living under a rock for all these years, no offense. Why don't you try and find about the LEGENDARY toyota 22R engines. Its has been in production since the 60's or so. 18R, 20R, 21R, 22R etc. Here in the US, you see them approaching 300k miles (That will be about 480,000 kms) with no issue. The hilux pickup truck uses those engines. Carina, Corona, old Celica etc. Even Siena, i believe, used to have a Supra or a Celica before, and he can tell you. You are free to love your German cars all you want but the difference is in the maintenance cost. Japanese engines might not be as fun to drive as compared to German but you can't argue your way out of the cost of maintenance and ease of fixing. And to most folks, that all that matters. There is not where in the world that you won't either find a Toyota or someone who can fix one. However, that can't be said for a BMW. So why would i wanna get stranded waiting for some certified mechanic or i can take it around the corner of my town and get it fixed? All these images from remote villages in war zones like Somalia, Iraq, Labanon, Egypt, etc. More than likely you will see a Toyota running around. With a machine gun on top sometimes ![]() |
k10:If i were u for my money, i will go for a Camry all the way, SOME EOD's from 1998-2003 are known to be having too much gear problems. Though not all of them, but enough to make me stay away from them if i am looking for one. If you must drive an EOD from that year mentioned above, get a manual transmission, no automatic, then you are safe. Good luck |
Do u have the measurements on the dump truck at all? The Lenght, width and height measurement. I can inquire on the shipping cost. |

oly1010:Get ur ship on! Infinity is the number! |

This is probably a 94/95 model. Definately not a 1999. Check ur facts. Good luck in your sales. |
cooljade:As long as the Benz is fully registered, then you can export it. I believe that Benz will only refuse if you are exporting a new car directly out of the country. You are free to do whatever you want with it after its been registered in your name first in the US. Hence, its considered a "pre-owned/used car". I think you can use Hoegh line. It also depends on the time you are exporting it. You can find out from AES Shipping in NJ(AESSHIPPING.COM) to know if there's is availability of space for Dec. 14. Speak with Mike. And you can drop off from Baltimore port there with no problem I will guess that since most Xmas shipment are already gone, you shouldn't have a problem. Again, its just my guess. Check with them yourself. Good luck in what you do. |
freshmoney:Sometimes its better to keep quiet so that people wont know that you dont know. ![]() |

Let the buyer decides the most comfortable way to buy. There's no need for arguing. There's room for everyone. |
Always specify year and specs. ![]() |
