Why are you criminals so bent on manipulating scriptures for private gain. It is clear even from the scriptures you quoted (1 king 17:9) that God instructed the woman to cater for Elijah. She did not cater for him on her own initiative. What that obviously means to me is that I have to hear clearly from God before I assist any 'MOG' if I am to use your twisted logic.

I would suggest we all ignore this uncouth lunatic who is just desperate for attention. I have already thrashed out the topic with him and exposed him for the fraud he is. He specializes in twisting scriptures and manipulating same to promote his fraudulent views. I can authoritatively confirm that "gentle me" is the same fraudster as "tonye-twister-tithes" I have caught him before sometimes last year using both I.Ds. Also you guys should not that the fraudster knows the truth about tithes as I have had lengthy exhaustive debates with him on the subject in the past and he resorts to daft manipulative tactics to prove his point. You are all witnesses to the non existent bible version he quoted of matthew 23:23 to maniputatively quote it out of context. I have been raising the issue you raised above for the past four years on nairaland and none of the pro-tithing victims or fraudsters has been able to address the issue. If you must tithe then it must be done according to biblical standards as defined in deuteronomy 14 and NOT the fraudulent man made version being peddled in our churches today.

There is no evidence in that passage Jesus collected money from those he preached to. The fact that they had a money bag indicates Jesus and the disciples had a common purse which was how early christians lived. The passage is silent on how the purse was funded so don't force your greedy bias into it.

Proof of what? Go and read matthew 23:23 the proof that Jesus was talking about tithing under the law is in that verse itself.

In as much as I'd like to refrain from arguing with lunatics cos people might not know the difference, even a cursory look at the Matthew 23:23 that criminal was referring to states clearly that the tithes the pharisees gave was according to the law of which no christian is bound by.

Several people on this forum have explained matthew 23:23 to you within the context of which it was stated as in it was clearly under the law which is not relevant to christianity.
