Dharkchild: Thanks mate. Going to Sheffield but flying to Manchester.Oh, ok. It's all good. Now how do you like that feeling of not being rejected ?...lol |
Donxavier: Big Congrats. Been waiting for your update. Very happy for you bro. I hope you won't disappear now that you have the Visa. I know most people would disappear when they get their visas but I actually think if guys like you and me stay, Justwise can concentrate on other duties and the very difficult questions .It'll come out good, no doubt. You see trababe don dey congratulate you already...I just like when people take it cool, like you, and wait out their 15working days b4 showing concern. I never touched the receipt from the day I submitted till when I needed it to collect my visa. The days passed and I didn't even know it until the text came in, then my uneasiness went through the roof! Lol |
Dharkchild: I got my visa today. Picked it up at VFS lekki. I submitted just the documents started on my CAS that's my degree certificates only.Congrats mate!! Happy to hear this, so many good news now!! You're coming to Manchester, right? |
MeNutty: My school is in Birmingham, buh am booking an iberia flight to London, got an info from a friend dat d immigration officers at Heathrow may raise issues with me for coming thru London when my school is in Birmingham, pls how true is dis?Nt true bro. I also booked an Iberia flight to London on the British Airways website(the 2 airlines have this merger thingy goin on, I think)transiting via Madrid. When is your flight? |
chukyrooy: I am now scared as Hell...it was stated on my CAS to submit my degree Cert, bt I am yet to receive my Cert. I submitted what I used to get the admission which is my statement of result and my transcript. I hope it would sail thruWhy did you not clarify this with your school before submitting your application? this is too late now as you've already submitted.... just hope for the best. |
chy22: Hey guys i wanted to book my qatar airways ticket online with my first bank master card but it showed card declined pls those off you who used qatar how did you book. Need help as soon as possible.I actually just booked my flight tonight with British Airways(transiting via Madrid) for 7th Sept using a GTBank card. The process was a bit complicated with activation code and mastercard secure code, but I got there in the end. Shouldn't be much trouble if you're conversant with online transactions. You may have to contact your bank. |
shemy: Goodday, I want to apply online for the visa and book appointment but I seem not to understand the process well, also can I pay for the applicastion online, saw the option. For those that went through this process, please assist? ThanksOnce you apply online you do not need to book any appointment; just get to VFS with your online slip/info, you will be given preferential treatment in the 1st 2 stages, I think, but you will have to wait like others before submission and biometrics. You can visit any Sterling bank to pay or pay at the VAC. Not sure about online payment. |
Cavenchy: Very funny guy, but I got my visa long before and I've still been supporting and advising, read through the thread. Had to take some time off to make travelling arrangements so don't worry I'm still with y'all.Actually forgot to mention you when my visa came out since you disappeared in a whiff of smoke! Hope u're gud. Anything we can glean from travel plans you've made? Ticket?? You can share on the travel thread https://www.nairaland.com/1012773/those-going-uk-studies-sept.2012/3 |

kunlewoye: Wherever did people get this thing about KLM being cheap? Or did I check the wrong site? BA, Emirates, Qatar Airways(what with the long wait *sighs* in Doha, Qatar before the flight to London) are about the best to London, although you have to transit in Paris/Madrid, Doha, Dubai, depending on which of the airlines you choose. Please does one need a transit visa to stop at these countries en route the UK?I HAVE SEEN THAT SO LONG AS YOU HAVE A VALID VISA TO ANY OF THE MEMBER STATES OF THE EEA, YOU ARE GOOD RE: AIRPORT TRANSIT VISA. AND WHERE IS CAVENCHY ? I FORGOT TO MENTION THE GUY IN MY APPRECIATION POST!! GREAT GUY. |
No KLM is cheap because you avoid the long wait.
I DONT QUITE CATCH THAT O.... ANYONE GOING TO LONDON ON THE 7TH with british airways(IBERIA)? ALWAYS GOOD TO HAVE SOME1 TO TALK TO... ![]() |

MAN, TAKE THIS UP WITH THE SCHOOL AND BANK ASAP!! WHY DO YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO POST AND ASK FOR OUR APPROVAL TO INQUIRE FROM THE BANK/SCHOOL ON HERE WHEN YOU CAN JUST SEND 2 E-MAILS, MAX, TO KNOW WHAT WENT WRONG? PLS DON'T SHOOT YOURSELF IN THE LEG, i USED A DOM ACCT AS WELL AND SENT THEM 3K, ABOUT 56POUNDS WAS CHARGED AND DEDUCTED FROM THE REMAINING BALANCE IN THAT ACCT, IT DID NOT AFFECT THE AMOUNT I TRANSFERRED AT ALL. |
quatar airways is cheap but you have to go through Doha and the waiting time can be up to 10hrs. Turkish airways is also cheap but when i wanted to buy, i was told they don't carry students on 1-way. Try air maroc and klm.
You have always been helpful guy.... We'll get to hang out sometime. |
Congrats bro!!!
Thanks! |
I hope I haven't confused y'all. Economical fares to London needed, not to Manchester oo... I'll be camping in London before heading to Manchester. Which is the most economical to London (one-way)and not all that bad? |
MeNutty: Yippy!! Submitted @ ikeja on d 16th of ;uly, got a msg on friday and I picked up my visa today, Tank God and everyone on dis thread. Anyone heading to Birmingham?Congrats! Look for your lot heading to Birmingham on that other thread... cheers. |
EmmaIK: congrats. Hope to share mine soon. Donxavier: Congrats man.
Congrats bro.....
Thanks all, now we can all help others too... How's ur program going @A-Zed? shemy: Thank God for all the pple that have one way or the other assisted pple on this thread. I intend going for my visa application on Monday 20th but now I heard it is a public holiday. The money in my acc will be 28days this thursday, can I apply on Friday? Also which is better and faster: Abuja or Lagos? My school is resuming 24th of September. ThanksShemy, if you're very, very sure your required closing balance matures on Thursday, then u can go ahead and apply on Friday. Here is how mine went: - Needed about 4.9M but had just over 4.7M. - deposited 200k in my acct to make it up to the required balance on the 20th of June (note that the opening balance for this day is the balance before the deposit was made i.e 4.7M, so it's better to start counting from the next day which would have the opening balance for that day reflect the deposit u made the previous day). - I started counting on the 21st of June and made a transaction on exactly the 28th day (July 18). You may have to wait till the next day for this transaction to reflect. - I printed the statement on July 19 and applied. -August 9, 16th working day from date of application: received the text to come for collection. I hope this helps. |
Got my visa today!!! Where are all the Manchester guyz o? any updates on the airfares? |
justwise: I'm really happy for you, you will did alot of research and ask more questions. Congrat! Enjoy your studiesThanks man, you are the BOMB! Funny how I just "stumbled" on the part1 of this thread... Dharkchild: Cheers mate. All the best. Thanks mate. |
I got my visa today! Thanks people, you have been really helpful. Main issues I had to tackle were those that pertained to errors on my WAEC cert and not having my old passport which was withheld by the issuing authority during its validity extension. For the former, I got an affidavit from the Federal High court, included the old statements of result for both WAEC and NECO, also stated it in my application. For the latter, I just explained that I did a validity extension becoz my old passport would not cover the duration of my program and the old one was not returned to me. Never forgetting all the advice and suggestions from the guyz on here; Justwise et al. Yippeeeee!!! |
Errmmm... It's so cliched now but I still have to put it that way... I got my visa today!!! I got there around 10am for collection. Thanks to the heads God used in making this possible. Justwise deserves special mention, A-Zed also who shared the same WAEC cert error predicament with me, Honey86, Names that came along later: DonXavier, Dharkchild, and many others... Manchester, I'll see ya in a bit! Where's that testimony thread again? ![]() |
