Wallade: Really, you mean it was so much threat that necessitated the use of live bullets on students with fatal intentions.
We're the students armed with weapons? Did they open fire of bullets at Fayemi's wife and her entourage?
Do you understand the "Rules of Engagement" or have you ever heard of it.
Honestly, I don't see any justification in what Mrs Fayemi's security entourage did. I also believe that Fayemi's wife and the officers that killed unarmed students should be held responsible for the killings and injuries.
Besides, what is the constitutional or government role of the wife of a governor or president. Their status is alien to the Nigeria constitution hence, I can't understand what gave her and her security officers the effrontery to act in such barbaric and wicked manner. Rules of engagement do not normally dictate how a result is to be achieved, but will indicate what measures may be unacceptable, with that said, the security drafted to Mrs Fayemi were not Riot policemen walking around with rubber bullets. We all know Nigerian institutions and cultism are synonymous, and won't be surprised if some of the students had weapons with live ammunitions I sympathize with the families of the bereaved, but those kids should have known better! |

OluwabuqqyYOLO: The most difficult gathering to control is a bunch of aggrieved youths, and what's worse: a SUG president was slapped, most probably for talking back at an officer with itchy hands. Did you expect calmness to take over?
Many of you are conditioned to oppression so well that when you see students, the only functional group with the mindframe to face tyrants, protesting for their rights, you regard them as nicompoops. Would you prefer if they were fighting like those riffraffs in UNILAG? Was the protest not for a purpose?
You could be defending the Governor or his stupid wife anyway. Calling Nigerian students the only functional group with right mind frame is very debatable, but that aside, the policemen attached to the convoy of the First lady were not there to control aggrieved youths but to protect their principal, hurling projectiles at them and the VIP is a threat and was treated as such, an educated person should know this. |

lailo: nigerians don't pay tax but want infrastructure.Funny set of people. You're getting it wrong here, we're talking about this particular form of taxation, it tends to reduce the tax burden of the people with a higher ability to pay, as they shift the relative burden increasingly to those with a lower ability to pay which doesn't benefit a larger portion of Nigerians. We should be doing the opposite considering the undeniable level of poverty. |
Politics › Re: PDP Rejects Moves To Return Toll Gates by kunmiiii: 8:51pm On Oct 02, 2019 |
etrouble: Nonsense. APC has clear majority is both Houses at the National Assembly, therefore the government does not need PDP support or otherwise to pass necessary laws and do what it (APC led government) needs to do to move the country forward.
PDP and its supporters can go and die.
However, because successive government have failed the people, this has made the people not to trust government again. But, I trust Buhari. I am a Buharist. I stand with Buhari. There's nothing wrong with being a Buharist, but you should be a human first, there's nothing in your comment that argues or suggest this is a good idea, don't be a complacent YES-MAN, learn to question what you don't understand. |
