Why is it paining some people that she was rescued?
Nigerian men are very hypocritical. They can judge and condemn women like tomorrow no dey, yet they are as wayward and promiscuous as the prostitutes and slay queens they insult. Shior.

I pity women in Nigeria. They must be blamed for every misfortune that comes their way, even when they are victimised. Nairaland men must look for a way to blame and ridicule women in every story, yet they won't stay on their own o.

Business / Re: Are Third Party Merchants Killing E-commerce In Nigeria? by Kwenty: 7:57pm On Apr 16, 2018
tensazangetsu20:
If you follow the Nigerian tech and e commerce space, you would notice that major e commerce companies have been running at a loss and some of them have closed down. Jumia just posted huge losses days ago and Konga has been bought.

A lot of e commerce sites in Nigeria rely strictly on third party vendors. Most of them don't stock their own inventory but totally rely 100 percent on third party merchants, while there is nothing really wrong with this business model, it takes away your ability to control quality and price the two greatest things that will make any business successful.

An iPhone sold on jumia by a third party merchant jumia makes around 700 or 600 naira on one phone sold while the seller makes around 30000 naira meanwhile jumia does the bulk of advertising and still has to do delivery.

A lot of factors could be said to cause the unprofitability of e commerce in Nigeria but my bet goes with over dependence on third party merchants. What do you guys think ?

I don't think it's really about over dependence on third party merchants. They do have their regulations and terms that is geared towards protecting their business profitability and image.
The Nigerian business environment is terribly harsh in this administration and it is affecting most businesses not just E - commerce business.
Majority of Nigerians do not have enough for their three square meals talkless of risking the little they have buying online. Buying stuffs online has its risks that Nigerians are still cautious of.

People seem to think you take home 100% of what you earn abroad and that you have no additional expenses. That's not the case.

Also people are talking about Canada but 14 Canadian Dollars is 11 USD and about £7.80 per hour.

What about rent, food travel?

The tax rate in Canada on taxable income is 15%, then 20.5% then 26% then top rate is 45.7%
There is also a 13% sales tax at the cash register and let's not forget paying for the health system through taxes just like most working countries in the West. There are probably a number of rates and taxes they pay for local amenities and the road infrastructure if they drive.

Also mansion is different from a house imho. The same way a Peugeot is different from a Porsche although they are both cars. The claim was about building mansions as the quoted comment says at the start of this thread.

You pay for all this services and make use of them because they are functional.
I can't regret or complain for bills and rents I pay and enjoy the services.
It's all about good life in a sane and serene environment not just building mansions back home.
Depending on how you spend, one can still build a decent house back home and not necessarily mansions.

Thank yo for your time, you made some very good suggestions, I have made several attempts we to see a councellor she will have non of it, I have been begging her to tell me if there is something I was doing wrongly, but she will not even bother to reply me. Sadly I over heard one of her friends telling her sometimes that she should try and change her ways. Her eldest sister also talked to both of us and made it clear to her that she has to change her ways.
Concerning doing something shocking, well I think that not calling her bask like I used to do should be shocking enough for her, it is two months now, and she is very okay with it.
I don't think she knows what marriage is all about or ready for it then.
Just let her be for now. If she is still ready for the marriage, she will call you back later.
If she doesn't, then marriage don end be that.
From your story, you tried condoning what so many Nigerian men can't condone.

BUA group is a big company though I don't know the role they are offering you and the pay. If you confirm that the BUA group job offer is direct employment and not contract; please go for it.

Contract job is contract job; so expect termination of appointment anytime and no career path. Though in some cases, you might be lucky to be converted to full staff depending on the long time practice in the organisation.
As a fresher, grab the job and hold body and soul together while gathering experience at the same time.
Anytime you get a better opportunity and offer, you shift.

The man is very bitter about his children showing there has not been peace in the family.
But then he went too far by placing a curse on his own children.
Children should learn to honour and respect their parents. Every rift should be settled amicably to avoid escalations of this nature.
And parents should also desist from cursing their children whether in anger or otherwise.

They never intended to start because he was making a lot of money from recruitments.
Look at this http://thepageng.com/2017/09/20/piuni-participants-lose-n6-5bn-david-olowes-mlm-scam/
David Olowe made N6.5b from enrollments, that's massive. If not for his greed why would someone make such huge amount of money and still didn't find a way to develop his own products that will be groundbreaking.
We all know he is not a programmer and the whole puini product line is not something he developed himself or his team, he is just packaging the marketing angle of someone else product which I predict he met the developer while he was at Harvard but definitely the so called developer won't give him the product rights fully, he will prefer to take it to Silicon Valley whre big companies can come and buy it. But David Olowe made just enough money to also have a stake in the entire system if he was wise, but he was so greedy that he now took 13people to Dubai so that more people can enroll and he makes more money.
C'mon my clear take was that he never intended to deliver from the beginning, even the office he rented in Allen was also part of the package for more people to enroll for him to make more money before he shuts down.

Worst part is he keeps saying work is going on that they will come back, c'mon your followers must be insane for them to believe that, work is going on for over a year, you are not a developer or programmer so which work is going on.
Abeg make una go look bush.
See this op now aw she used all her energy and strength to post and travel around all the puini waka saying in 10years time your children will question you for the decisions you made. Now am asking her in just 1years on the decision she made to join puini and she is already regretting.

Op don't worry the one that will bless you financially won't stress you this much.
You are very correct on this. Just like you said, he was never prepared to do any business. It's an organised scam from day one. You also rightly noted that if he was wise; he would have developed a product out of that wonderful opportunity. But as a lazy and greedy Nigerian that he is, he opted to swindle people and keep giving them false hope.

hello Op, wotsup with Piuni just read your thread all through. Shockingly i found the puini.net website domain up for sale for about $600 meaning its either the domain owner has abandoned the domain, or he/she ddnt see it important to renew the domain. Now whre does this leave the over 60,000 people who enrolled with the Puini system?

Don't mind the scammers. Piuni was a pure scam hiding behind telecom company to rope people in.
How can a genuine telecom company keep preparing to start business since 2016? while other companies has started offering same services Piuni scammers are boasting of and taking them eternity to start.
The guy behind that scam will definitely reap what he sow.

For this kind of job she described, 5k tax is extortion abeg. If the pay is not up to 100k, which I know it's not close to it and the boss is collecting 5k then it's cheating.
Paying tax of 5 digits and not complaining simply implies that the pay justifies the tax.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: A Friends Interview Experience At Pals Concierge. by Kwenty: 12:40pm On Mar 08, 2018
Hankonyibu:
Good day all,

My friend was invited for an interview at Pals concierge which is a company that deals with travel and migration purposes.

The company advertised a position for customer relationship manager in which he applied for only to get there to be told that the job position is for social media content writer. Now this is wrong in all ramifications why can't the company advertised the position they require! My guess is they want to draw in a large number of people that they can select from because not everyone would look at a position of social media content writer and take it seriously.

My friend said that was the first disappointment he met but he kept on pushing on. Now in the waiting room the job seekers were over thirty in number everyone went for the interview one after the other until it reached his turn. On getting there he was interviewed by a man that was quite learned he went further by saying the man asked relevant interview questions until the man started to ask him about his physical appearance and how he looked which made him feel very uncomfortable. In my own opinion the man is an arrogant individual for asking such he has very little regard for job seekers. How would you ask someone about their physical appearance and how they look did they create themselves it's an in house job its not a modelling job so the question has no relevance to the job position.

Now after the interview session was over my friend said they were now addressed by the same man. He thanked all of them that came congratulated them for making it this far he then told them that they only had one slot available. I was shocked on hearing this. So you mean to tell me that people came far and wide numbering up to 30 in number not only were there baited to come based on the wrong job position advertised but there was only one slot available. This is the problem with Nigerians as a whole there is no empathy and everyone is guided by their own selfish agenda to the detriment of others.

Now for the final stage of the employment process my friend said they were told to give relevant answers to the two questions asked. My friend did it submitted and left in disappointment.

He said he already has a very bad impression of the company not only is integrity absent but at the same time he feels there would be to much antics and games being played and staffs would be made fun of on how they look and its not something he wants to be a part of.

Not to mention the company is located at a pretty far location in lekki so if you do get an invite think long and hard before you spend your transport fare on a time wasting event.

Michael.
What do you expect? Nobody is putting all this private companies on check on how they treat job seekers and their staff.
Imagine the deceit from the beginning.
At the end the salary might just be a peanut with hard labour and inhuman treatments.
I don't blame them sha.

Reminds me of an interview I had early last year, time was for 9am but we were left unattended to for 3hrs. we were given a test which had questions drawn from mathematics, physics and calculus for a Customer Care job ! haba ! None of the other guys could say anything and just kept sweating. I got up and went to the invigilator and told him I wasn't interested in taking the test anymore.
The next thing he said was ' see you, there are no jobs oh so stop playing dumb or GO OUT ! Chai the thing vex me ehnnn and immediately the spirit of Great Ife aluta came upon me, i turned to the other six guys and lady and said asked if this was how they want to be treated should any of them get the job ? two of them nodded in agreement and also protested and so we left. later that evening I got a mail from the company apologising and inviting me back for another interview. I didn't attend because it was just me they invited leaving the other guys out from what I gathered.
I like that . I hate it when graduate don't know their onions and shiver at the mercy of some of this scavengers called recruiters and employers alike.
They treat job seekers like trash over peanut salaries.
I don't blame them sha. Our problem is as a result of our shithole leaders that turned us into a shithole country.

Family / Re: Where Is Your Wife? by Kwenty: 11:33pm On Mar 07, 2018

It's the responsibility of a woman to take care of the kids and tend to most of the house chores because that's what she's created for. Enough of this equality/switching of roles nonsense. Most women naturally want to take care of children. Most women naturally want to tend to the needs of their husbands. I'm not supporting over labouring a woman with duties or not considering how stressful certain home duties can be. But the fact remains that these things are her duties and she should do them without complain. Just the same way a man should provide for the family and offer protection & emotional security to his wife as well as shower her with affection and care without complain.

Men have been going to wars and dying in their millions for thousands of years and no man has complained. Men have been doing the dangerous jobs and losing fingers and limbs for thousands of years and no man has complained. I don't see why women should complain because of ordinary house chores.

Once a man is equal to the task and shouldering all the family responsibility, both emotional security and otherwise; the wife needs not complain.
But in a situation where the woman is hustling too to assist in the family upkeep; then it's wickedness to overlabour her with house chores.

Wonderful writeup by the OP.

I think the questions should be,

1: How many wives do we have these days? : In as much as I know not your definition of wife, I can tell that we'v got few wives in Africa these days, what do we have? , we have ladies that wants to bear MRS, ladies that aren't emotional, financially, physically and spiritually committed before entering a marriage, ladies getting married for the sake of "I'm married" hence trying to avoid our African societal view on single ladies.

2: How many women turns out to be the woman their man use to know?
: This is where ladies usually fail woefully, we'v seen where couples who dated for 4-5 years divorced after 6 months of marriage, a guy while dating a lady will be helping in chores, won't be bothered much about your financial supports, won't even allow you do some chores for him, why?, possibly because there's this good and awesome woman he sees in you, but why do most of them normally changes immediately they marry you? Simply because you changed from the woman they use to know to another, feeling you are now his wife.

3 : How many women of these generation are child-minders, cooks, nursing mother, financial partner and so on?.
: Can a social media addict possess all these qualities? , we have many of them here on Nairaland cheesy, don't we?, we have married women who jumps from one thread to another to fight and quarrel with secondary school boys everyday here, are they not the wives we are typing about? Hahahah cheesy. ...how do you expect these set of women to possess all these above listed qualities?, how's that possible?, I might not leave here If I continue highlighting the proves that we have less wife materials these days.

4 : What's your definition of a wife?

Do we still have the mothers we had then?, do we?
No, rather we have pinging mothers, social media addicts with no atom of shame.

The truth remains that every woman is directly or indirectly responsible for any actions and change in her husband.

With all due respect Mr Toke, the thread should be DO WE STILL HAVE WIVES ? , the answer to this question will give men a go ahead reason and order to tell and answer your question Where Is Your Wife?

If only people practice what they preach online about relationship and marriage, we wouldn't have been suffering the problems we are facing in relationship these days.

Once again...Nice writeup.
Practicing what is being preached online is for both partners.
If this thread is about women bashing, will you remember practicing what is being preached online?
There are still wives for those who chose to marry for the right reasons.

Most times when one is bored in a particular job or location and is bent on changing environment; convincing the person to stay is always difficult. To me, you have a good source of income here and it would have been better for you to remain and go on vacation to any country of your choice whenever you chose to; instead of starting life afresh in another country.
