For the amount of "fraud" money those guys are making on that road with sedans paying 120naira per pass and suvs paying 150 per pass, you would think they would have an independent power source to power those street lights.

Of course that is not the case, not even solar panels are used and the drivers on that road are left to drive on sections of that every busy road in darkness.

So you pay to pass and you can't even enjoy a nicely lit road from the toll plaza all the way to chevron.

Do you guys know just how many pedestrians are knocked down a year on that road

I personally have seen a human get knocked so hard, he flew high in the sky, way above the cars (even suvs) height level.

They should remove that toll plaza to start with, but in the meantime, while customers are still paying for that fraud, they can at least try to sort out the lighting issue there haba

NLC got it twisted. Removal of subsidy is not a deliberate attempt by the Govt to make Nigerians suffer. Nigeria is paying too much for subsidy. We can use the money for other infrastructural projects ie Transport. Removal of subsidy is for the benefit of Nigerians pls. Sometimes I think the leadership of NLC aren't transparent and their call for strikes are not born out of genuine intention for the masses but rather of service for some cabals.

What really is the benefit of removing subsidy now and having petrol go from 87 naira to the proposed 85 naira? Abi, is it 2 naira per litre savings that the government will use to fund more infrastructure

What also happens if oil price rises again to around 80 dollars per barrel? Would cheap Nigerians, who like everything free, be able to pay a 130-160 naira official pump price?

Many years ago, the UK had to rely on wood to stay warm, before they finished building their power plants.

Simply put, to defeat the effects of the hot weather, we need to build, including manufacture raw materials for the power plants we need.
Many have generators but we need to build collective generating plants that will serve more people with less effects.

It's a catch-22 situation, companies need power plants to operate, power plants need companies to build them!

If we import all we need, we loose jobs and waste money. We must decide that to build plants that will generate more than 200,000 MW that we need, we cannot import all the materials, may we hire specialists to work with us but we need to build using our own raw materials.

Don't you think we need to look at rich countries to learn, not the struggling ones? I understand BRICS and MINT as Paradigms but we need to get the basics and be ready to influence the way forward.

Nigeria needs more than 200,000 MW generating capacity to stay afloat.
