berem: Re: Fashola Provides Skill Training For Ibo Hawkers byaunt go through my profile and you will know that I don't quarrel with people. Whatever you think about me, then you are welcome. |
This is just a shame on nairaland. How can such a thread with such a headline hit the frnotpage? Am just so pissed of right now. Did fashola provide any skill aquisition for igbos alon? This is just so shamefull. Let no igbo man or igbo company ever advertise with this site. This thread should be a wakeup call for all igbos to realise that seun and his gang are out to destroy igbos with malicious lies. I will personally make sure no igbo person advertise on this site. The yorubas can go on and patronise their brother. i nwabobo: OAM4J, how could this thread hit front page with such a tribalistic heading? Are the skills acquisition centres exclusively for Igbos? |

The Rivers State House of Assembly on Friday raised the alarm over the whereabouts and safety of its detained Majority Leader, Mr. Chidi Lloyd. Lloyd was said to have been driven to Port Harcourt from Abuja by the police blindfolded. The lawmaker, who has been in police custody for the past four days, was expected to be arraigned in court after the trip from Abuja. The police surprisingly failed to arraign the lawmaker, who was charged with assault for hitting a member of the House representing Obio/Akpor Constituency 2, Mr. Michael Chinda, with a mace. It was gathered that the Majority Leader of the House was taken to the Police Officers' Mess in the state capital, where he was allegedly kept for several hours without being arraigned. Lloyd had earlier filed a suit at the high court against the violation of his fundamental human rights, even as the matter was mentioned for hearing on Friday. But speaking with newsmen, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Leyii Kwanee, said Lloyd was flown from Abuja to Port Harcourt blindfolded like a common criminal. "Just this morning, I was informed that Chidi Lloyd was flown into Port Harcourt blindfolded. Shortly after that, I have to rush to the high court, where we are standing now, thinking that he would be arraigned. "I can see that it is almost 5 pm and Lloyd is nowhere to be found. We are just worried about his safety. You can recall the case of Abiola. He (Abiola) was kept in police custody and shortly before he was released, he died suddenly," the deputy speaker added. Earlier in the high court sitting in Port Harcourt, counsel to the embattled Majority Leader had cried out over the whereabouts and safety of their client. Contacted to react to the claim that the Majority Leader was blindfolded by security operatives, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Angela Agabe, declined to make any comment. Agabe explained that she could not rely on a mere hearsay without being briefed on the matter.

The Federal Government on Friday inaugurated the University Needs Implementation Committee headed by Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State. The committee is to put in place appropriate requirements for learning in all tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Anyim Pius Anyim, said during the inauguration of the committee in Abuja that the major needs of all federal universities were identified by an assessment committee earlier set up to "assess and prioritise the needs of universities." According to him, the report submitted by the Needs Assessment Committee mandates the inaugurated committee "to interface with all agencies providing funding support to the universities with the aim of appropriately channelling support to identified priorities," The Federal Government had set up the NAC to revitalise the physical infrastructure in the universities, with the aim of enhancing the Internally Generated Revenue base of the universities. But the non-implementation of the report has pitted the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Non-Academic Staff Union and other trade unions in the nation's universities against the government. Anyim said the committee's terms of reference included, "Simulating private sector investment into the public universities, monitoring progress of the projects implementation and produce quarterly reports for submission to the Federal Government and, intervention in any other matter that may be necessary to achieve the purpose of the Needs assessment."

lexyking: I'm still trying to figure out what brought MJ's picture into the video of this song as no mention of. Him was made in the song but now I know they used it as a selling point to get some attention from the states. My advise to them is to be 100% real and create a niche for themselves rather than chosing to walk in someone else's shadow cos the truth be said they can never really be taken as MJ's prodigyIts u dt is trying 2 gt cheap attention by faulting were there is absolutely no fault....the videa, lyrics and concept is jez perfect...u shud even b api dt a Nigerian got accolades 4rm d states 4 a job well done.....Am sorry 4 all of u who r bent on trying 2 kil d progress of other people....beta get a life bro and appreciate gud tins wen u c 1.....4 ur information am not a p-square fan but 4 dis PERSONALLY they were outstanding..... |

Tragedy struck in Apata area of Jos North after a 28- year-old electrician was electrocuted while trying to fix a problem on an electricity pole in the area. The victim, identified as Chukwuebuka Eze, was also said to be a musician, having presented an album recently. Eze, according to eyewitnesses, climbed the pole in Agwan Lambu quarters around 12 .05pm in a bid to change the supply phase to his shop. It was while he was in the process of doing so that the Power Holding of Nigeria suddenly restored supply. He was instantly electrocuted. His shirt caught fire and burnt out even as his body remained hanging on the wires. A loud spark was said to have followed the incident, which attracted passersby and neighbours who watched helplessly. A neighbour of the deceased, who came out and saw him on fire and dangling from the pole described the incident as "terrible and horrifying." Some onlookers rushed to PHCN office to lodge a report for the electricity supply to the area to be cut off. Imt took the combined effort of PHCN officials and some concerned residents to bring down the corpse of the deceased from the pole. The corpse was later taken away by the PHCN officials accompanied by three policemen.
