Newboss:

Those cars are not that expensive for a BDC guy with money laundry connections. $3m can buy everything there 2019 model. Most cars in his collection are not even latest models. Most were bought used.

No big deal here

You missed my point. Money laundering is big business - okay? And you know he is a money launderer how? Have you seen his finances? Even if he *was* a money launderer - how do you know how successful he is? It's not out of the question for people with some money to exaggerate their money online. Do i even have to say this to a Nigerian?

There's really no proof in his pics he is a BDC guy. Posing with what looks like stacks of money beside counting machines doesn't really count. You're taking a lot of what this guy says at face value which i find really odd especially because so many of his pics are so obviously suspicious (the ones of him standing in front of cars on the street for instance).

I've lived in Dubai. And Malaysia/Singapore. I've seen tonnes of Yahoo boys, drug dealers, passport sellers, govt connected 'businessmen'. People who flex online, pop bottles, fly their girlfriends to the Burj or Langkawi from Nigeria, put money with ten other people to rent a Lambo for a few days and then go back to their cramped apartment that they share with ten other people. This guy might not be as bad but by God he has that stench on him.

The parents should all be arraigned. (Also, 'Arabic' is hardly the right adjective.)

Ignore them. Most Nigerians are too poor to have sense

Anyone who thinks 'He owns those cars because 'money laundering is a booming business'' is a good argument has no business questioning other people's sense.

I'm fascinated by this (hence my posting here for the first time in years). In a way, i feel sorry for my people if this is all it takes to convince you. It speaks a to certain naivete, an unfamiliarity with what the world is like.

For those unaware, one can find exotic cars parked all over Dubai. All over any international city really. So taking a picture in front of one on the street means nothing. Half of these pictures are clearly showroom pics. There are many tourist attraction showrooms especially in the middle east (Ferrari world in Abu Dhabi is one) where one can see exotic cars up close.

Of course one can also rent any of these. You can rent a Huracan here (https://www.oneclickdrive.com/details/index/search-car-rentals-dubai/Lamborghini/Huracan-Spyder-LP610/?id=4555) for about 900 dollars or so and that's from a big renter. I'd wager you can rent an exotic for about a hundred if you look hard enough. Never mind that you could simply ask someone if you can take a pic with their car.

Point is, almost anyone in Dubai could take these pictures if they were so inclined. You can also go to aeroplane showrooms and test the first class cabins. You can book a tour of a plane or even ask for one at the counter. You can buy fake money stacks (lol). All i'm saying is, if someone is determined to create a certain image like this individual clearly is, they can do so, especially if one's audience is naive. Anyone who knows anything can immediately see red flags all over his profile. I'm guessing in reality he has a little yahoo money to travel with (probably economy like the rest of us plebs) and scrounges and makes cuts to do so.

You know that an inevitable collapse is literally part of the definition of a Ponzi scheme right?

Their decision to suspend services in December is immaterial. It is by nature an unsustainable system and the higher the supposed returns, the quicker it collapses.

I imagine a significant portion of Nigerians are tribalist so that maybe one reason they might dismiss Igbo views. However that goes both ways.

As for 'Igbo way of thinking', I'd posit that there are no ethnic ways of thinking. That doesn't make sense. Maybe you should put it in a better way.

You've conflated two different things. A slut is usually referred to as a loose woman, a prostitute sells pissy for material gain. Not the same thing.

I don't mind either personally. But i also think people are free to disprove as long as they don't do it in a vicious way.

Romance / Re: “I Sleep With Any Girl That Hears I Live In Banana Island" -lagos Big Boy by LaDolceVita: 5:16pm On Jan 09, 2017
As far as i can tell, except the minority of upper class rich girls and some sheltered girls in the other classes who grew up with strict parents, almost all interactions with Nigerian girls are transactional.

Ie, they're looking for a come up. In this guys case, it's his house in Banana Island (which i assume is an exclusive district in Lagos?), in my case once a girl hears my accent and that i live abroad, the deal is basically done.

They funniest ones are the girls who have enough sense not to be too open about it but a few days after meeting they suddenly start randomly talking about how they can't pay their rent or how their phone is broken or how their car is so old hahaha.

Tbh i ain't even mad at them. It's what being brought up in a deprived country causes. Girls learn very early that demand for their pussy is high and it's natural they would exploit it.

But it's made me wary of dating outside my circle though. I try not to be a snob but a girl with ulterior motives is a girl you cannot trust.

Romance / Re: How To Identify A Runs Girl - By Joro Olumofin by LaDolceVita: 4:40pm On Jan 09, 2017
You only need one identifier really - any woman who is obviously living above her means.

When i first came back to Nigeria (and thus was a bit naive), I would see these girls living lavishly and assume that it was just Daddy's money. That's the automatic assumption anyone of a certain class makes.

But soon enough i realized something wasn't right. They often looked good from far away but close up they made uncouth errors - their clothes were a bit too tight or too revealing, they were a little too eager and most tellingly, once they open their mouths, you can tell from how they speak.

Politics / Re: $4.2 Billion Missing In NNPC Under Buhari – US Governance Report by LaDolceVita: 2:39pm On Dec 30, 2016
1. The NRGI as far as i can tell is not affiliated with the US Government.

2. Don't get your news from a site called 'truegistnews' abi 'truenewsgist'. At least if you do, make sure they have actually linked to a reputable source.

http://www.dailytrust.com.ng/news/general/new-report-says-nnpc-fails-to-remit-4-2bn-under-buhari/140490.html

That's the report (which came out April) on the new paper that is at least from a newspaper. But even they do not link to the original report.

People really need to learn skepticism. How can you be informed if you just believe everything as long as it confirms your worldview? Even if it turns out to be correct, at least do some checking.

Atheism is certainly not the way, it just doesn't make sense. Agnotism or deism could be tolerated though.

Einstein didn't believe in intelligent design what are you on about. He was an atheist. A simple google search can resolve this i don't know why people just choose to believe a warped reality that suits their prior beliefs.

From the above report by CNN we can see a lot of Anger and emotional issues like

1: Anger towards everyone which they tagged "equal opportunity anger"

2: Particular dislike for Christianity as an atheist and an anti-theist

3: Intolerance towards everyone including neighbours

4: Always confrontational over any and every issue

5: Nobody could understand why he exhibited so much rage.

All the above listed is what we see everyday from atheists on Nairaland so i am not surprised seeing this in this Atheist.

All i can say to anyone who wishes to live a life of Joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, temperance...NEVER CONSIDER ATHEISM.....IT SUCKS THE VERY LIFE OUT OF YOU.

God bless you all

Religion / Re: How Do We End The Stranglehold That Xtianity Has On Nigerian Women? by LaDolceVita: 3:09pm On Dec 18, 2016
I don't think religion, at least in its current form, will survive widespread education.

One can already see this process happening in developed countries that have had a head start. Generally the more educated a country is, the more secular it's population.

Even the ones who do claim to religious are not biblical or quranic literalists and they generally are believers only in name or as a form of cultural categorisation.
Religion / Re: Charles Darwin: The Worlds Most Hated Scientist by LaDolceVita: 3:30pm On Dec 16, 2016
Isn't this a waste of effort? You're trying to logically engage people who the most part didn't come by their belief in God rationally.

People are indoctrinated into religion during their formative years rather than argued into it. It's all emotion - fear, love etc. There is an emotional aspect where by people see even questioning their beliefs as a betrayal - of 'God', Jesus, their family, their culture and so on.

I think that's what keeps people in that religious orbit. Otherwise any reasonably educated or intelliget person should be able to see that at the very least, most of religion is implausible.

Religion / Re: What 'freedom Of Religion' Means To Muslims? by LaDolceVita: 2:36pm On Dec 16, 2016
What's the point here? Almost all of those quotes have their corollary in the bible yet many Christians are perfectly fine living in the west. As aare many Muslims.

The point being, since religious people do not necessarily follow every dictate in their holy books, quoting the holy books to say that one group is incapable of having this or that liberal value is worthless.

That's not to mention that anyone who knows the history of the church is aware of it's vehement opposition to freedom of religion for literally centuries.

1. God is MY Father and MY God. I know Him personally

2. Because the more I reason and discuss with atheists, the more the foolishness of atheism hits me. Pardon me if you are an atheist. Just sharing my personal observation.

3. Because I rely on the grace of God to keep me from deception and God has been faithful to show me the errors of my mind at my down times.

If those reasons seem like good arguments to you, then i can see why you're religious. Completely makes sense.
Religion / Re: as,m by LaDolceVita: 1:23pm On Dec 16, 2016
She has a problem with the fact that you're tolerant? That's a red flag in my opinion.

Think of what she is asking you to do - would she even consider it if you asked her to be less religious in order to connect with you? But you should go the other way to appease her...

Personally, i wouldn't have gotten this far with someone this religious. When there is something non negotiable like that in a relationship, it will definitely cause problems.
Culture / Re: Our Accepting Things As They Are Mentality In Naija by LaDolceVita: 1:12pm On Dec 16, 2016
Urban poverty always breeds a particular meanness in people. People feel like they have to behave in a dog eat dog manner in order to get a piece of the ever dwindling pie.

To be optimistic, wealth in Nigeria is rapidly increasing, despite the recession and the uneven distribution.
Culture / Re: Africans Were The First People Of The Ancient Americas by LaDolceVita: 1:01pm On Dec 16, 2016
Propaganda to erase black African history of the Americas? You assert this without providing any sort proof. Why would there be propaganda?

Plus the idea that 'they' are trying to erase black African history while being perfectly fine with 'asian' history of the Americas doesn't make sense. So they're racist against blacks but not Asians?

Wait if Columbus had called them Africans that would prevent him from claiming the Americas? Why?That doesn't even make sense. Europeans claimed Africa didn't they? And Africans were there. Also if Africans being there stops him from claiming the Americas, why wouldn't Asians being there do similar?

Anyway that's all beside the point. The fact you didn't bother to provide supporting links from either cited Academic papers or at least reputation magazines means this is a non starter.

And most of the Afrocentric movement is completely pseudo scientific - like your ridiculous post.
