Anytime i hear dizzy/weakness my mind flies to pcv o. Please if you have 700naira to spare go and do pcv test. That low pcv thing showed me pepper and i dont wish it in anyone. I almost took mistoprostol at week 26 to induce miscarriage, I can't count how many times I've cried and blamed myself for being pregnant. And my baby is so peaceful, no MS not even once, no sign of pregnancy except for the tummy but still my mood swing is nothing to write home about. The worst part is that I live alone.. Having someone around you really helps. Loneliness even without been pregnant can cause depression.
Pls try and go out more often, talk to someone,pray. But please try to start loving ur bundle of joy. I know people that would give up all they have in this world just to have a baby growing in them.
Talk to ur baby,rub ur belly when ever you feel movements. Makeup,dress nice and take maternity shots even if its with ur phone.and the best part of this is that ur baby is coming to solve ur loneliness issue. You would have a new bestfriend for life. Be strong sister. You can do this

Lol. For about 3 days last week i cried myself to sleep. I felt bad for no reason and i was very angry and bitter. For no reason at all. Another time i felt bad that i allowed myself get pregnant, i was scared i would be a terrible mother. The thought of someone depending on me for everything was scary. I spoke to my fiance about it and he was really sweet. He assured me that he was sure i would be a great mom and he atarted saying nice things and promised to be a supportive dad.i felt better he gave me some money for baby shopping and i went shopping at the almighty cheap aswani market. Started washing and packing my babys things and i felt better. Like a waa a good mummy already. My matter just dey make me laugh sometimes.
Generally hormonal changes causes mood swings dont worry

Thanks alot for your response. I don't feel dizzy. Initially I was feeling headache but the nurse said it was as a result of the typhoid. For blood transfusion, I Actually discussed that with my nurse but she said I should buy De-Deon's Hemoglobin B12 blood tonic.

Dont worry you will be fine. But please after using the tonic for like a week go back and do pcv test. If it drops again go back to your doctor

Please am 33wks pregnant. I recently went to the hospital cos I was tired of fever so I found out I had typhoid D and my pcv 23%. So I was admitted discharged yesterday but I still have 5 augmentin. I couldn't sleep last night cos of cold. I went back and the nurse said it's because the typhoid is so high. Please has anyone gone through this, and What should I do. Am so scared for my life and that of my baby.

I have only had low pcv 23% and malaria. I didnt have thyphoid. My doctor made sure i received 2 pints of blood immediately. Since then i have been very agile. No malaria again sef and pcv rose to 36%. Hope you dont feel dizzy and have headache?

The next day i felt it like twice and from then on it became more constant. It feels like there is a litlle fish in ur belly swimming. But when it becimes more violent and specific the its called kicks. Congratulations

@LaDivva. Na the same thing dey do me for about 4 weeks now. I cant breathe properly when i lie down. I complained to my mil(she's a midwife ) and she said joyfully my grandchild is orobo(don't mind that woman). She later advised me to change postions till i feel comfortable or sleep with plenty plenty pillows like im half lying down half sitting down.

@GoodMum...Those kicks no be for here at all o. At first i was enjoying it because it was reassuring that my baby is fine and this is my first pregnancy so i was super excited. But now its like i offended my child o and hes trying to show me pepper.the kicks are even visible to a third person if i sit still and expose my belle. Plus my baby lobes the right hand side of my belle o. So sleeping on right side no go work for me. Its like he paid for the land and even obtained certificate of occupancy

Mama u are funny o. You dont want to get fat and you want to eat snacks.lol. the little i know is avoid junk food as much as possible. Eat more of fruits and protein. Your baby will benefit the most from fruits and protein and it wont make you that fat. Also eat small portions of food but eat frequently with plenty water. Dont consume a big portion at once.
But note after all said you will still get fat but it will be healthy fat and easy to shed after giving birth

19weeks3days , though scan said 19weeks 6days.
I had the cerclage at 12weeks as adviced by mamas here and was able to complete my studies with it, so far sa good. No issues, everything is fine, baby is hyperactive.
I wanted to be done with school before I register, finished in July, 5years is over. I'm balancing at home now enjoying all the tender love and care from my sweet hubby and the reassuring kicks from my lo.

Hello mamas. Please since last week anytime I lay down to sleep (on my side) I feel like I am not breathing well. I have to use my mouth to breathe or sit up for a while before I feel better. Please is this normal or is there a solution? I can't sleep well at night

I vomit anything I eat no matter how hard I try to keep it down. Everything smells bad too.

I'm always hungry even feel dizzy at times but I find it difficult to eat. Hubby says it's cos I'm scared of vomiting, maybe that's true sha.

●Wipes - disposable or reusable - for disposable get the fragrance free type for sensitive skin.
●Body cream

●Bath soap
●Nappy cream - nothing special, vaseline, ori or coconut oil work well


Carrying:
●Car seat -: i see this as an essential item.
●Baby carrier if you need one
●Rocker/ swing / bouncer - now with this i would advice get one that is newborn to toddler i.e up to 18 kg as most bouncers have a 9kg weight limit and depending on how big you baby is, may outgrow it by 6 months!. Also look for the ones that have a newborn position which is an almost flat lying setting, as some og them mainly the electrical swing types tend to have baby in a funny position, and you may not really be able to use it properly in the first few weeks until baby grows a bit. .


Clothing:
Few tips:
Babies outgrow cloths unbeliveable fast. get as many unisex items as possible so that you can have longer use in case next baby is of opposite sex.

Do not buy too many newborn items as you baby may be big and they may not even fit. 0-3 months is ideal.

Dont get sucked into buying a load of fancy dresses under 3months, your baby will live in bodysuits for the first 3 months so dont waste your money.

Shoes for newborns are also a waste of money to me. They just make them pretty, so we can buy them.. hry have absolutely no functional use!

Factor in how many times a day you would bath a baby and how often you intend to do laundry. You can always buy more if you need to.

●Vests - both longsleeved and short sleeved versions. May be 7-10 number to start

●Bodysuits/all-in-one/onsies - get the ones with integrated scratch mittens ... that way you do not start looking for mittens which always have a way of getting lost as they never seem to fit well. about 7 - 10 in number to start

●1 special outing for naming or christening if required

●Socks! Loadssssss these could also double up as mittens, as they are more elastic and they wont fall off! I would say a dozen pairs especially of they are being used on the hands as well

●Bibs... loadssssss but at least a dozen!

●Burb cloths or muslins to wipe up drool, spit ups and all sorts.
● A couple of blankets or shawls.

goodevening mamas.Please concerning the pcv issue.I did mine last week and it was 29%.I felt it was low nd decided to wait to see the doctor so as to know d next step to take,but he didn't complain about it.Pls i need ur opinions too on this.

I started feeling dizzy ,having constant headaches and feeling faint combined with the low blood pressurethe first test showed 26% after a week dr requested for a repeat and it came back as 23%. That was when it became an issue. But ur doctor knows best.

Ms nooooo o. Luckily I don't even know what it feels like. I don't eat much (food is not my thing although I love cooking for others) and my former mumu doctor said I should take ferrous tablets once a day instead of 3 times according to the new one. The new dr said pcv level should have been checked first (among other tests during antenatal registration which the former hospital didn't do much of ) so as to know the right dosage for me.
