I submitted my tourist Italy application on 16 feb, 2017 and I was called for interview last week wed slated for yesterday, went for the interview yesterdayand it went well, i was told the passport will be ready in 2 to 3 days time. Never knew Italy do interview.

Meanwhile my brothers business schengel visas to Portugal that I helped to package which was submitted a week after my italy application was ready for collection since last friday evening, they picked up their passport yesterday and they were both granted.

Anyway, Canadian consulate is known to take time while processing visa due to the verifications they conduct and the number of application they get. Besides, If she resigns in May and par aventure that period is when verification is conducted from her place of work........then you know the rest.

So my advise is that you tell your friend to call on God and chill till the outcome of her visa before she resign so as it will not be interpreted say she wan ja.

Thanks for your advice. My wife is still hurt with the refusal, this is the first time we were refused visa. The last time it happened, the ambassador almost got sacked. So she said she is no longer interested in going. I am also in touch with my people in canada, they have resent the invitation and sponsorship letters. I want to notarized the photocopies of our landed properties documents and marriage certificates. Just in case the VO was skeptical when we submitted them at first.

Sir there is always a first time! this only helps to guide and make one do things appropriately. The first time I and my siblings were refused France Schengel visa, I was called on the phone by the Consular who apologized and asked that I come to the embassy with my passport and that of my sister, I sent my sister there our visa were issued less that 10mins when she got there.

So tell your wife not to hurt anymore, its one of those things. As someone here mentioned, just do things the right way and you will get the desired result.

In addition, you can include in your letter to the embassy that you wife is hurting as a result of the refusal hence her decision not to reapply alone with you, as she has never been refused visa and this refusal came as a big blow to her history of visa application.

Am very optimistic that if you do things right this time you will get the visa, you wife may even be called to come for hers even though she didnt apply.

Good everyone, wanna ask a question. My friend applied for a visiting visa with her husband who is the main applicate. They applied for their visiting visa in February . But no response yet. She plans to resign in May because she has no time to take care of her children. She's a banker. Her fears are if she resigns in May will it affect her application or will she get a response before May. Or will the Canada VO contact her bank. They did paper route. Thanks

I feel you are in the best position to answer this since you are a fresh applicant who has got response on your recent visa application? Use your application time frame to ascertain the estimated response time.

and how long did it take before you got your passport back?

Note however that embassies conduct verification in any form within the visa processing time. I recently applied for schengel visa through italy and just yesterday I got a call from the italian consulate to come for an interview. This is not my schengel application though not through Italy. Ive had several schengel visas in the past through france and germany anyways becos in the passed i frequent Europe atleast twice a year but na cost of flight slow me down dis days (travelling is my hobby; and expensive one at dat )

I did push for the documents, but the stress of organizing the conference was too much. And I was weary of the 120 application days. Anyways, I have the documents now.

This time in your application, ensure you give detailed explanations on your PURPOSE OF VISIT and TRAVEL HISTORY, also try to convince the VO that all document are authentic and verifiable. Try as much as you can to defend your previous reason(s) for refusal. You can explain each of your previous trips and tell the VO that never on any of the trips did you violate any immigration rule/law neither did you stayed beyond the period you were permitted to stay. I think you should also apply with your wife only if she is included in the sponsorship letter and letter of reference from the organization. If she is not and you really want to apply with her, explain why you want her to accompany you on the trip and that you will bear the expenses for her travel even though she has the capacity to bear any of her travel expenses and include documents that will back her financial/economic Ties as well.

TO GOD BE THY GLORY. If you know that God's testimonies will never seize here and in your house hold please wherever you are help me praise the LORD. God did it this morning. I checked my CIC account and my heart was like gheghegheghegheghegh because I saw "A final decision has been made" check below. Gurus and everyone I could not scroll down for like 10min on till I gathered courage and behold I saw......Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details...... I just jump out of the office and hug the first person I saw and I started praising God. God is Awesome my people.

Lesson learnt is that,
1. first timer please endeavor to read past thread even when its lengthy try to read am as if you are jacking a course of 6 credit load. I did and it pays off now that I could seek for my admission and TRV myself with the help of God and The wonderful Gurus in the house.

2. After that please be sincere and have faith in God. Never think negative about your application.
3. Loads of Prayers and Fasting. as for me I fast every Tuesdays and pray with my wife everyday because it was on a Tuesday I submitted my TRV application.....Lol.

God is faithful.
Am really indebted to God and to the Gurus I met here. thanks @MichV, Yemmdogg, folaroyal, TheSoj, Mcowubaba(Even when you abandoned me in the middle of vetting my SOP. you are great Man.), Austinpee4, Nony1(Get ready to accept me as visitor.), Osemigho and the rest people in the house.

@ ugu. Sorry about your refusal. Will ask you the following questions to determine the reasons why you were refused.
1) when did you apply for your visa.
2) why did you choose to go for a conference with your wife does she work in the same company as you
3) did you do a personal statement explaining why you have to travel with your wife.
4) apart from the travelling history did they talk about finances or any other thing
5) did you submit evidence that it's the organization that is paying for your flight and accomdation.
6) is the organization going to pay for your wife's ticket and hotel. If they are not did you include a sponsor letter indicating you are covering her expenses

7). Did you include your marriage certificate n all
how long did you tell them you are going to stay.
The truth of the matter is that Canada visa is just luck. Do your best and pray. I think you can re apply and do a personal statement also clearing the part of the travelling history. Explaining to them that you have travelling history. Just work on the parts they think u dnt provide. And reply. I hope you will get your passport back before the conference. All the best.

I addition, you can also ask the organization to write them, introducing you, explaining the importance of the event to you, and guaranteeing your return. If you really want your wife to accompany you on the trip, the organization should also include it. Then submit all official document to back yourself and you wife most especially those ones showing both of you ties in nigeria g.g work, investment, marital, financial/economic ties etc. Best of luck.

HNM to you all and I really appreciate each and everyone response towards my visa issue I posted earlier. I was able to arrange an impromptu trip as advised but I was stopped at Lagos airport from boarding that I need to contact the embassy. I called abuja embassy to notify them and was told to send an email. I sent a mail and they responded that I should schedule an appointment to visit the embassy so that the issue can be looked into into. So I visited as advised and they requested all d medical bills I paid when I had my baby in 2015. I presented all with detailed explanation & the guy stamped cancelled on my visa page that I no longer have a valid visa to travel. I tried to know the actual reason for cancellation and he said my DH applied and told them I paid $3k for the hospital bill and that the hospital charges me $20k, I disputed that and showed him the agreed itemized bill I signed with the hospital,my corresponding bill payment receipt,zero balance statement, letter of non indebtedness and obstetrics package price list the hospital sent to me via mail. He asked me to reapply. I reapply for a new visa in Lagos and it was approved without requesting to see any documents. I got a call from Lagos consulate 2 days after my interview to scan and send all the payment receipts to them and I responded immediately and I got a mail notification few hours later that my documents have been collected at the consulate. Interview was feb 22, approved and I picked it up Feb 27, flew delta on 28th and Poe was Atlanta where just 3 questions was as asked:
Why are you here?
How much do you have on you?
What do you do for a living?
After responding to all that, was sent in to go and declare my cash and was stamped in for 6 months with no further question. I guess misunderstanding in the bill was the major issue in my case. All in all,truthfulness and doing the right thing when one is opportuned matter most. I'm glad I didn't abuse the privilege given to me. Join me and thank God for a successful end story. Visit LIRS for your tax clearance if you are in lagos. and if you work in a structured organization, you company should be filing tax for you so ask your HR for your tax clearance.

bro you dont need SOP and lawyer for now, your case is quite different. with your GCMS notes and previous refusal letters coupled with a well explainable mail would be okay for u. going for a lawyer is long thing on my part. you can actually do this yourself bro. all the best. be swift with your response to CIC.

Also include that you do not have any intention to cover up any of the refusals as reference for your previous refusals were clearing indicated in the SOP you submitted in your application. That your not declaring it on your app form was an oversight on you part and you sincerely applogize for the mistake as you do not have any intention to conseal the refusals. Tell them that they can kindly refer to the document you submitted for the application as the SOP is included and therein is stated the refusal, that you were unable to attach a copy in you correspondence as your laptop crashed and you do not have a copy as you have submitted it.

Tried to read up treads on USA travels so that you will be abreast with the latest happenings and all that is expected of you at POE. You need to be very careful at the POE and choose your words wisely, make sure your purpose of visa does not deviate from what you filled/stated during the processing/obtaining your visa.
