It is going to be tricky to prove and claim those damages worth N10 million You see in Nigeria, You are Guilty until proven Innocent (youusually have to prove yourself off accusations and suspicions) and as far as Etisalat can pull up records to show that he indeed executed the SIM-swap, then there is no case for him. (and Etisalat has the means to do just that if they were actually guilty in the first place). I had a similar problem with Glo 3 yrs ago when I used their Internet USB at 30k per month. I was out for a week and they produced a monthly bill displaying internet,SMS,GPRS usage during the time the modem was not in use. I ignored them and for 3 months they kept sending Bills and threatened to call their lawyers. Imagine that 3 month bills for an inactive SIM that was in a dirty gutter on Adeola-Odeku. He cannot even prove that he did not have the intention to defraud Etisalat by using this scenario as a scheme to claim N10 million. |

I never imagined one of my most revered books after The Palmwine Drunkard (Amos Tutola) is so sublimely illustrated in the Nigerian theme. You Sir, are one intellectual revolutionists. you can discount the expected grunts and caws of lesser animals whose relevance in the farm is mostly determined by the PIGS, they serve no potential or immediate nationalistic purpose save the memory of their raucous dissent. Sadly, youths of today have very little (illuminating) literature to expand their awareness (too much radio propaganda, glo, mtn, star shows and nollywood). good analogy right there |

BabaTony: @lagerwhenindoubt It doesnt change the FACT that sahara reporters practices yellow journalism. I don't have a personal style of reporting news but there are laid down international professional ethics for journalism (you know what i'm talking about), and sahara reporters have fallen short of it. Period!!!!!
As for the child witch saga in the state and how akapbio did not manage it well, i have one question for you, have you visited akwa Ibom before? if no, the discussion ends here!!!!! but if yes, where in akwa ibom and when? You miss my point. If a madman says "hey look up, it looks like it is going to rain". if the observation is true it does not make the statement invalid just because he is a madman. I have been to akwa ibom state I visit the state December for the last 2 yrs. I go Upenekang Ibuno Township, Eket. How does that begin or end the discussion.? My question is, 1: Are children being persecuted (tortured and starved) and branded as Witches in Akwa-ibom state? 2: What has the Government of Akwa-Ibom done about it. 3: Where is this on the priority of Godswill Government? (high, medium, low or zero) Do you believe that children can be witches while fully grown adult witches roam free and run for political positions in our democracy (not a trick question) |

BabaTony: Yes, i agree, there was the Child molestation issue one, time, but the way Sahara reporters report their stories, they don't show any form of professionalism, what do you say to a statement like this: .
What does sahara reporters mean by docile "yes men" akwa ibom correpondences
This statement can NEVER come out of professional media houses like, vanguard, guardian, punch, STV, AIT, etc
I know what i'm saying, journalism is not done the way sahara reporters do it. They just disgust me. i am serious. @babatony which is more important to you, the fact that persecution of child-witches in Akwa-ibom state is rampant and Godswill is incompetent (at best) at dealing with the situation or you just have a style you want Sahara Reporters to report the Story, perhaps not call them child witches but spiritual miscreants How Sahara Reporters report a story does not discount the FACT that it happened Period.Point.Blank. |

Green Bowl Soccer Tournament website Tickets still not available http://greensoccerbowl.com/Something in the news http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/football-golf-boxing/29044.htmlGreen Bowl soccer Tourney: Home-Eagles arrive in TexasScores of Nigerians resident in Dallas, capital of the State of Texas were at the Double Tree Hotel on Thursday morning to receive players and officials of the Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles as the delegation landed in the United States of America.
The team of 20 players and nine officials was led by a member of the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Barrister Olaleye Adepoju, and will play two matches in the invitational United States’ President’s Holiday Celebration Soccer Tournament, otherwise known as the Green Bowl Soccer Tournament, holding at the Cotton Bowl Soccer Stadium this weekend.
The Delta Airline flight from Lagos had a few hours’ stop-over in Atlanta, Georgia before connecting the Texas State capital.
The Super Eagles, with Head Coach Samson Siasia directing affairs, will take to the pitch against their Mexican counterparts at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday at 7pm (1am, Sunday in Nigeria) and the result will determine whether they play the Losers’ Final or Final Match on Sunday at the same venue.
Costa Rica and Panama would play the first game of the two double-headers on Saturday at 4.30pm (10.30pm, Saturday in Nigeria). The Losers’ Final holds from 4.30pm Sunday (10.30pm, Sunday in Nigeria) with the Final starting at 7pm Sunday (1am, Monday in Nigeria).
Coach Samson Siasia has expressed delight at the eventual staging of the tournament, which had to be whittled down from eight-nation to four-nation, saying it would help his team’s re-building and re-tooling ahead of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifier against Ethiopia on March 27. The Fiasco! Furious NFF to report agent after fiasco http://www.kickoff.com/news/20488/furious-nff-to-report-agent-after-green-bowl-soccer-tournament-fiasco.phpPosted: 2011-02-27 22:23
Furious and embarrassed Nigeria football officials say they will report match agent Pius Oleh to Fifa after the Green Bowl Soccer tournament ended up in shambles.
The Nigeria team arrived in the USA on Thursday, only to learn that they were the only side to do so as organizers had ‘postponed’ the tourney.
It left the NFF looking at wasted expenses for transcontinental air tickets and hotel accommodation.
NFF President Aminu Maigari instructed the NFF Secretariat to make a detailed report of the fiasco to world football-governing body Fifa.
“This is untenable. How can he tell us that there was a ticketing problem after our team had travelled that long distance to play? How can he tell us that he did not know there was a problem until our national team arrived in America?
“This is totally irresponsible on his part. How come he did not ensure that everything was perfected before telling our team to start coming? We are not going to take this lightly.
“We will get all the documents that have to do with the tournament, all the agreements we had with him along the way and send these to Fifa," said Maigari.
The Nigeria delegation, made up of 20 players and nine officials, and led by Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Barrister Olaleye Adepoju, flew 11 hours from Lagos to Atlanta overnight on Wednesday, February 23 and then connected Dallas, Texas believing it would take part in a four-nation US President’s Holiday Celebration Soccer Tournament packaged by America-based Nigerian Pius Oleh, who already had the go-ahead of the United States Football Federation for the event.
In his own defence of what happened, Oleh said on the telephone that he had everything tidied up until the problem with the Ticket Master cropped up on Thursday evening.
“I am embarrassed myself at what has happened, but the truth is that we had everything keyed and the teams had been informed to start coming before the Ticket Master developed a problem. It was not something that anyone could do anything about at such short notice. It was not something we could have envisaged, having done all that was required to get things right.
“We had the approval of the United States Soccer Federation and letters of commitment from the countries involved. We had invested a lot of resources and energy into making this happen and honestly, I am devastated. But I am more worried about the fact that the Nigeria team had arrived for the tournament.
“The tournament was never a joke; it was something we worked very hard to realize. I know people will feel very bad about the Super Eagles having travelled that long distance but the truth is we discovered ONLY AFTER they had arrived in the US. The other teams involved (Mexico, Panama and Costa Rica) were only a couple of hours away from the US and were to fly into town on the Thursday that we discovered, so they cancelled their flight. But Nigeria is far away and the team had to leave earlier.
“I am saddened by this, but there was never anything one could have done about it. We can’t allow the tournament to go ahead without tickets. We had not collected any money from anyone for any aspect of the tournament, so you cannot call this a scam.
“Games get cancelled here and again, but I know the Nigeria federation will feel very strongly about this because they were earlier to play Guatemala here and that also didn’t work out. It is a pretty bad situation but we should leave this behind us and move ahead. Surely, the tournament will take place in two weeks”, said Oleh.
NFF President Aminu Maigari, who cancelled his scheduled trip on Friday alongside that of chairman of technical committee Barrister Christopher Green, said the Nigeria team will definitely not be available for the new date.
“Pius Oleh will first have to account to Fifa on this embarrassment. We have no business with him concerning any new date. He should be ready to offset all our expenses and also pay compensation. Let him play his tournament with any teams he wants.
“All the same, we apologize to Nigerians and the Government for this unfortunate incident,” stated Maigari.
Maigari on Saturday instructed team officials to harness efforts at getting seats on the Delta Airline flight from Atlanta to Lagos on Sunday for the team to return home. The Super Eagles had trained on Friday and Saturday at a facility close to their Marriott Courtyard hotel.

I find a peculiar behavior that is common in most Nigerians when you bring up the issue of corrupt politicians, They ask for PROOF and will not even consider collateral evidence. If you say Tinubu is a Thief they want you to produce a signed confession from Tinubu himself that he stole money. Even if you give them a video showing Tinubu performing the act of stealing, they will discount it as Hollywood special effects Where else would Tinubu have amassed the wealth he has.
