Romance › Re: She's Asking Me For Blackberry Subscription Money by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:41pm On Feb 16, 2011
@OP. this is a simple matter really and i know most girls will rather you come straight-out and tell them what you want and what you are willing to do to get it. If you are looking for Romance then 4get kpanshing dis babe. if you want to kpansh then tell her straight-up. Lagos babes don't form unless you (yourself) wish to form Mugu. they will play your game and get what they want business-like. Are u sure she's Unilag runs and not LASU undecided A Unilag babe asking for BIS renewal is not worth your time. True Unilag babes can already afford BIS (they get far more than that cos they play ball properly). So ask her to send you her pix then you can have her come down to Oil Garden-City for some good kpanshing Flight ticket paid To and Fro. grin or just pass her BB pin to me grin I am feeling in the mood? (not)

Politics › Re: Rascals In Govt: Jonathan A Drunk Fisherman -tinubu ! by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 3:19pm On Feb 16, 2011
I fear our sentiments and ethnic idiosyncrasies mostly get the better of us when issues are brought to fore, (especially Politics and Religion).

Why can't we be blind to our ethnic/religious differences and discuss productively. Our behavior (not our Bad Leaders) is actually the wedge that is holding back the wheel of progress. Bad leaders simply see a bunch of intelligent but disorganized, xenophobic, emotion-driven and definitely arm-chair social activists whose angry words are only as threatening as the e-paper it is written on.

So yes it is GEJ pointedly committed a political faux-pas that can only be corrected with a public apology (never in Nigeria and definitely not during Election year). that aside, who is Tinubu to call his President a Drunk Fisherman (is that not treasonable  grin)

You just read my mind, some of our stagnant (brain-dead) appointed and elected public officials often make such comments without the benefit of logic; you must forgive their attempt at being intelligent  grin

Just a question you could have just answered, no need tacking insults to your reply; it does not add to your intended comment (in fact it removes all evidence of tact and intelligence you are trying to put on in the first place)
Politics › Re: Acn Campaign Flag-off Live On Tv, Mind Provoking Facts Being Discussed by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 1:43pm On Feb 16, 2011
it would be nice to have callers call-in on the show to ask a pertinent question like
1: What Measurable benefits have ACN brought to Lagosians in the past 12 years. that are beyond their statutory obligations catered for in the Constitution. are they even meeting their statutory obligations (satisfactorily) given the budget allocations since the past 12 years

Dis Guy:
are you sure the person controlling the camera didnt direct the robber to your friend

If your friend is reporting the robbery he can/should mention the presence of the CCTV so maybe they can follow it up and get something quicker- just hope its working
Which Police, where!? His car died on him just above the bridge going to CMS from NETCO building. He had his harzard lights on and called some of his friends to stop by if they were headed that way. We all told him to be careful that Area boys lurk in that zone and he said he is in view of a CCTV camera, there is no way anyone will attempt anything near a military zone! he was dead wrong. Not only was he robbed, he was slapped about while cars zoomed passed as if nothing was happening. Why is Lagos this way, WHY?!! angry
Politics › Re: Campaign: Yuguda Promises Youths Wives: Lwkmd by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 6:13pm On Feb 15, 2011
It does sound funny and most of us will take him for laughs but the sad and salient FACT is he is the Governor and there are more Public Officers who will continue to govern Rule Nigeria in a state of stu.pidity. they will have supporters and the likes of us who can contribute to meaningful governance in Nigeria will not even be given a second look. We must begin to find ways to supplant idio.ts from positions of power and replace them with pro-active leaders with intelligence. I am dead sick of stagnant buffoons who continue to have relevance in 2011

He actually said Lagos, osun, ekiti  must be captured, which implies these are the states in the hands of rascals. I have always said GEJ is gullible and  sluggish. I never knew he is mischievious.

A simple apology would have gone down well.Instead of taking the pain in time and money to cough out this doctored statement. You should watch him read the speech and you would agree he didnt write or know what it conotes. Evenhis companion cant help him. Show me your wife and I can say how smart you are.  Yeye chief Niger Delta millitant.
Apology and Resignation are not in a Nigerian Politician's Vocabulary rather Mis-read, Character Assassinations and sometimes the Devil are to blame grin

Enough is said about Capitalism and Politics, they do go well in bed. Think of it this way. which would you rather be in control of the president.

1: Greedy Politicians
2: The Military
3: Capitalist Private Sector Profiteers  grin
I would stick with number three (at least they provide jobs for the unemployed)

Just asking though. a friend was robbed right in front of a CCTV Camera just next to Government House at 10-10:30PM yesterday grin

I ask you, of what use is a crime-fighting tool when there is no one to use it properly to fight crime angry

How many crimes are reported in Lagos, Where are the Hot-Zones, Where have crime-rates reduced, when are the best times to move around and how should I report a crime, Where is the closest Police Station, Where do Patrol Vans Patrol, How is are CCTV data evaluated, why was there no one coming to the rescue? any attempt to point out that there is someone watching will only risk you losing your life

@OP. the truth is, we all claim to know to some degree (some claim to know with certainty) why we are here and what we are here to do and where we are headed. The truth is, No one knows, not even the anointed Men of God or Scientists at NASA or You nor Me, that we can always say we know for sure when we don't. it is a good exercise though. wink

At last, This is good for the egyptians. I hope Nigeria will learn from this.
rhymz:
I dont see how Nigeria needs this kind of revolution, infact, sitting as president for 20yrs is impossible in a country like Nigeria. So why are people screaming Nigeria all over the thread? What Nigeria needs now are serious political institutions that ensure people do not go scot free when they breal the laws. We need some serious political awareness and awakening. People here express aparthy when it comes to their right and political leadership, we dont ve serious oppositions, there is hardly any difference btw PDP and ACN and that is why PDP will always thump the other parties in the head when it comes to elections. Apart from a few persons in the oppositions who ve shown good leadership qualities the rest are of thesame breed, no wonder GEJ called them rascals because in comparison to his party, oppositions are nothing different. Good news for Egypt but not yet time to celebrate anything, let us still watch what happens after now. We ve seen near situations like this where people yearned for a changed only to be plagued by the change. Let us hope this wind of change sweeps across black african countries like Gabon,Zimbabwe and co. As for Naija, this is not the type of revolution we need now, there is no need to kill yourself over nothing abeg.
You must be flirting with Utopia; when a nation is moved into action by the conviction of many rather than the unneeded sacrifice of a few (Tai Solarin e.g)   Something unifying that cut's across ethnic, religious and political lines (Like IBB and Abacha dictatorship uprising) must happen. Right now, Crooked politicians play on our collective ethnic and religious-driven sentiments to sell Democracy as a situation where the voice of the citizens are heard through incompetent members of the polity. any diversion from the "norm" will be violently dealt with or simply ignored or discountenanced.

The Youths; the future of of this nation are gradually fading into anonymity while the Aged and decrepit leadership pay lip-service to Education, Youth Empowerment and Development. It is up to you and I to become Politically Aware and Active at any level we find ourselves. the more youths we get into the political ecosystem, the better for Nigeria. join a party and become relevant. sooner than later, the old dolts will find their grave. The youths must be ready to take the reigns.

This negative and violently fatal situation (among several others you already know) are just symptoms that Nigeria is on a slow and painful journey to the grave of despair and death. In a civilized (honestly and democratically governed citizenry) society, The Government will recognize that Cattles for part of the Food Economy and provide the necessary infrastructure to sustain such an economy for cattle rearers. But this is Nigeria, the Land of Mystery and Miracles. If we can cut salaries and allowances due to our public officers, we can provide enough funds to provide grazing land in each state as well as a business model to sustain these nomads, but no, no, no, no - spending $2 billion for an unclear purpose (poverty alleviation) is priority? For your information, Economic reasons amore than political or religious are the root-cause of civil conflicts worldwide. NIGERIA when will you wake up from your drunk slumber angry
