I beg to disagree Sir!
The happenings in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Jordan, Algeria, and Bahrain are clear pointers to the fact that popular uprising can bring about the change we seek. We need not allow it to get bloody like in most of the countries mentioned above, hence the very reason why we should all vote en-mass to oust the looters and kleptomaniacs (aka PDP) in power.
I know, you missed my point

grin grin grin Mai Suya, i am assuming it will pay your government when the 'Duly Elected' thief gets into office. the whole foundations of Election 2011 is birthed in fraud, controversy and deceit but hey! it has never stopped corrupt Nigerian Politicians from getting to their destination has it.

JEGA wants to print plastic cards, please someone tell me this. Will he recall everyone to come pick up their spanking plastic cards when it is ready? would he give each person a tally number or call their names from mega-phones, will he just send an sms alert or will he post on their facebook pages, Printing on plastic is just a collateral cost, what about logistics, what about salaries for corpers, If everything falls withing N5Billion then i will have to assume that the cost of printing on paper was much less, at least half.so what did you spend N94 billion on shocked

People, we have to accept the FACT that (In Politics) there will always be the Unpopular Majority and a hallowed minority who (whether you like it or not) will always carry the day. This is (Black) Africa, the group with the loudest voice never wins, it is the (usually tiny) group with the means to achieve their aims that do. and it looks undeniably obvious that GEJ and his ilk will carry the day. every other dissenting voice regardless the numbers, (regardless the votes) cannot do a damn thing to change the course. cry

Im begining to think otherwise about Nairaland.was it created to be an Anti GEJ forum? Please someone should let me know.
Some negative elements here keep embarking on Destructive criticism on the Commander-In-Chief of the Federal Republic, when they can not even run their own homes. If i may ask, which Presidential Candidate has a 100% track record in the past and present? You are all entitled to your opinions, keep it to yourselfs and let us have peace. You think you can change anything by opening up your gutters on NL? Why dont you just Wait and vote for your choice candidates in April and stop Making Nairaland annoying and Boring.GEJ FOR PRESIDENT 2011-PEOPLES CHOICE.
stinke commenting at bolded

There are a lot of trash-talkers on Nairaland but you miss the point entirely. GEJ has no critics (destructive or constructive) on his Facebook page, go there and see all the pandering his Presidential Ego is basking in. Naturally i detest destructive criticism, but our humanity gets the better of us when scores of Nigerians die in Jos because our Commander-in-Chief does not have the gall to use the powers of his office to seek a lasting solution. (If there are any please list them here), What about Political killings, what about Insecurity etc. We are not expecting a Miracle from GEJ. just do the right thing a step at a time. He has however released $2billion dollars (outside budgetary allowance) to States for Poverty Alleviation, has appointed men of questionable character and credibility to public offices that determine a majority of how Nigerians will live each day for the next 5 years. Will you risk the future of your unborn children to a GEJ Republic  huh

Nigerian Leadership has a horrid record since the past 50yrs. we have no leader who has made the cut a 100% (or even 35%) This does not mean we should allow mediocrity because that is all we are used to. When will you start demanding your National Rights when you do not even know what they are.

Opinions matter on Nairaland and anywhere basically (whether you keep it peacefully to yourself or talk-trash) It is opinions (silly and reasonable) that amount to what we call Public Consensus. If most posters on Nairaland seem to hate GEJ it is because of the Public Opinion GEJ has formed in the minds of the Majority.

And Finally Opinions do make things happen unlike you wrongly assumed. The Revolution streaking across the Arab World is borne out of a simple Facebook Page. You will be wise to note that opinions matter whether online or offline. your opinion matters it just depends on which side it is on. (The Majority or the Minority)

@ lagewhenindoubt, will u join us? I use to read comments here without signing in and I was attracted to say smthing because of your id!otic post. Why do u base your arguement on prejudice? I'm ain't a tribalist which i think u are, many have have been telling others "be smart", are u paid by the principal u are supporting?
Bros how you dey? no vex for internet oooh smiley  we are only discussing issues that will ultimately bring the truth to the surface.

1: How are my posts idiotic? To say that Nigerians should make life-changing decisions based on Sound Reason and Need rather than on Emotions and Desperation. Why should I overlook the poor antecedents of a man who will determine the course of our national future because he has a good smile and God as anointed him president of Nigeria. (when I am neither Drunk nor high on Religion)
2: How am I a Tribalist? Where in any of my posts on NL have I made ethnically biased comments? Born Muslim in Jos, grew up in Benin (Auchi) I have a Hausa father and a Yoruba Mother and lived 12yrs in Port-Harcourt and another 10yrs in Lagos. I speak English, Yoruba, Etsakor and Hausa fluently. I am very detribalized
3: Which Principal am I supporting? I support whoever has the Political Will to Rally Good Leaders (despite the numbers of incompetent ones were have to make do with e.i GEJ) to stop the cycle of Democratic Stagnancy in Nigeria. If GEJ is the Man. I will gladly support him (Thank God he has no such spleen nor liver nor brains)

As it is I would vote Ribadu but I have an aversion for ACN and their undemocratic practices a Good Dog in a Bad Pack will always bite the way of the others.

obailala:
Please I need someone to educate me cos I dont understand what's goin on here.

Did INEC or Jega ever announce or promise anybody that DDC machines were to be used for elections??

I thought the DDC machines where to be used to create a voters register? . .That's what we were told so where is this allegation of dumping ddc machine coming from?

What has Jega done wrong again by following our constitution to warrant all these lousy insults from nairalanders?

If e-voting is to be used, shouldnt it be the national assembly's duty to make the recommendation first b4 we insult INEC?

Nigerians we really need to wake up from this slumber. . Insulting people carelessly without getting our facts right will not get the nation anywhere.
You should get your facts un-twisted. it will help you get this nation somewhere if not anywhere at all
1: The Voters Register is the single most important piece of election material in any Democratic Election (besides the constitution and the voters themselves)
2: The Voters Register ensures that only eligible voters are allowed to change the course of their country's future for better (or for worse)
3: It is one formidable check against Election-Rigging. confirm how the Voter's register was used in the court of law to nullify illegally elected (election-riggers) Governors from power
4: Over N90 billion has been spent on the DDC Machines to ensure a Free/Fair Credible Elections that INEC Chairman is in charge of
5: By virtue of the importance of the Voters register and the pivotal role of the DDC Machine. It is key to Elections in 2011, without it, you can rest assured that it won't be a Free/Fair Credible Elections because data captured by the DDC Machine (Hard-Facts) will not be used, but a manual voters register open to manipulations the likes we saw in Delta, Edo, Ekiti, Ondo states the last elections.

Is the Voters Register compiled? is it vetted for accuracy and approved for use in the 2011 Elections? If so, why dump N90 billion only to expend probably twice the amount in 2015 when another round of elections is due. but that is not the worry here. the key worry is that INEC is pushing to dump the machines for the purpose they were bought in the 1st Place !!! how can you sit there and not know these facts? huh
Family › Re: Do Babies See Spirits? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 8:05pm On Feb 21, 2011
If you think your baby sees spirits then be sure to:

1: Check the ventilation in the sleeping area. babies are highly sensitive to varying smells around the house from cigarettes, alcohol,  Perfumes, Spicy cooking or stuffy air. any of these conditions can trigger a psychosomatic behavior that affects the babies immature sense of awareness. They are not seeing spirits, they are high  grin
2: Oxygen deprivation can be a gradual process and not necessarily a suffocating experience. It can also cause babies to start seeing things  shocked be warned

I am not one to tell you how God thinks but if he designed babes to see Spirits, he must be one naughty biatch-arse Nigga  angry to open their little innocent minds to pathways that the Devil  can manipulate.

Only if you know.

In a sensible government, they would have told us the officer(s) responsible for the death of those people.

In a sensible government, the president's wife would not even open her mouth to say this nonsense alleged to her.

In a sensible government, the religious crises experienced in the north would have been resolved.

In a sensible government, we would not have people dying on October 1, 2010 bomb blast and the culprits accused thereof, now joining the government to campaign for another election 2011.

In a sensible government, heads would have rolled for the deaths that occurred at Port-Harcourt.

In a sensible government, a president would guard what he says.

In a sensible government, a president who dithers on nuances, would have apologized and probably think of resigning or the senate considering impeachment proceedings against for failing to apologize.

But alas, Nigeria has been blessed with a senseless, clueless government for the last 12 years! What do we know??

The madness has to stop. PDP has to go.
You must mean 51 years grin we still have no Idea what Democracy Means or What it looks like or how she feels.

Well, I will give it to you straight.I am not talking of hatred of them though.
1. They teach a works-based salvation.
2. They are Unitarians and do not give Christ His proper place.
3. Their New World Translation of the Holy Bible is suspect, leading many astray.
4. They have made a lot of prophecies which did not come to pass, only for them to modify the prophecies after the dates they set were passed. Moreover, they have in their own books cited failure of prophecies coming to pass as one of the means of identifying fake prophets.
5. They are unorthodox in their views in general.
6. Their stance on blood transfusion has led to the deaths of thousands.
7. Their teachings have separated a lot of families.
8. They term themselves ‘Jehovah Witnesses’ and do not see other Christians as such, neither would they have any fellowship with them.
I will give you the next two later, please.
Now that is cynical grin

1: They Turn popular Bible misconceptions on their head and tell you the Truth e.g Jesus did not die on the cross but on a Stake (whence Prince VLAD the Impaler got his impaling ideas)
2: God is not suffering from severe Mutliple-Personality disorder AKA Trinity Syndrome but is actually sane 1 person with 2 assistants who work in his authority
3: The Holy Spirit is God's impersonal active force not a REPO-man out to cash a cheque to the Devil for you soul
4: Jesus' ransom sacrifice did not include Adam, Ouch! that ought to hurt
5: Only the 144,000 Jehovah's Witness are born again. and will live in the new Heaven- so long for you suckers and tell that to Daddy GO grin
6: Satan was entrusted with the obligation and charged with the duty of overseeing the creation of the earth, (now i see why he had delusions of grandeur)
7: Jesus was only a perfect man, not God in flesh (these guys should work well with Muslims)
8: The soul ceases to exist after death (makes you wonder really)
9: There is no hell of fire where the wicked are punished
10: Jesus did not rise from the dead in his physical body

I think a lot of Men on NL have gone soft with their hunting skills. If the girl needs 3k for BIS all the better for you? when have you gotten kitten p.unani that cheap? If you know your game you will get more than your money's worth.

The Scenario where the girl runs off with your money makes for an even better game-plan. I have had a girl run-off with my 10k (or so she thought). did not pick my calls, even said I was giving her the money cos i wanted kitten p.unani and not her love. not a word from me for weeks. (playing the ignoring and you are not that important game). after a month, her friend wanted in on the game so i obliged but this time, her expectations were dashed cos I pounded the snooch like a mutha. and when she learned of what was going on. she came back for some action, must have lasted a month pounding my monkey ragged. but cost/pleasure-wise. it was worth the 10k. and for some odd reason once a girl has let you into the garden once, you can go there as often as you please without her consent  grin

Give her the damn 3k already unless you have got your hands full

I feel it is sad that whenever we try to adopt a position meant to represent fairness to either sides of the argument, our own judgment is biased due centuries of a male-dominated stereotypes of what a Woman can/must or cannot/must not do. If a Man cheats (for whatever vaunted reason under the sun) the woman is equally open to cheating on her husband as well.  No quarters given.  cool The only major biology that makes a man different from a Woman is how long O.rgasm lasts for either gender. Consider this. If a Husband cheats on his wife for less than five seconds of pleasure, why expect the Wife not to cheat for what can be days of pleasure  grin
