The boys are at it again. this time i fear it works better than the last con 1: you get the usual text message that you have won N1m in the MTN treasure hunt 2: No request for money or recharge card, just a code to login to a Winners page to confirm within 8hrs that you actually won 3: At the winners page you are asked for key banking details and ATM PINs that can be used to request for a new ATM card from any Bank in Nigeria The link is here http://yellotreasure.com/ |
Hmmmm, I would not have believed this if it were not coming from my fellow Afrikan brothers/sisters.Like it or not Believe it or not, there are other realms of existence just as there is a reality that we see and feel as humans. Unless you wish to say that since the dayz of Adam and Eve (Worm shit for the Atheists) we have been smoking weed and doping crack/coca so much we see evil spirits and they affect us physically by possessing us. These things are real, witches, spirit beings, demons or life forms from another dimension, they are real because i have personally seen them in action and i don't mean in the invisible, in the days of Bar Beach, you will shit-in-your pants watching a prayer session where a demon possessed person is under deliverance. i mean they vomit real turtles, lizards and small snakes LIVE!!! you mean to tell me that these people swallow these things for days without digesting them? |
But I doubt a man of his smarts will still be in the US, he's probably holed up in some hotel in Lagos cruising his life away, |
Good Gazoonkers, Please email it to me natas@realantichrist.com or send me an SMS to #666 with keyword USURPER works on all networks ![]() Make sure it is scriptural, don't want some text from some supposedly gold-plate bible, just verifiable Bible text |
A revolution is afoot, one in which mere words be it a moving speech or a call to action. .will no longer be ingested and absorbed whole by intelligent Nigerians who have seen it for what it is (the buffoons just want to say something to remain relevant in the media) |
did he scam you for 5k free browsing, you just graduated Maga 1st Class with honors ![]() how does one get scammed by a nigerian living in nigeria. |
my neighbour upstairs and side stairs are yahoo boys, successful ones too. my main problem now is that they have upgraded to yahoo+ (yahoo+Juju) Surulere is a den of yahooboyz and they are desparate |
babe take style fine oooh ![]() bad girl, bad girl, rot in jail ![]() |
To die in the hands of a masochistic butcher is far more blissful than be raped by anyone. u do well, it is only in societies such as ours that rapists actually tell their escapades over drinks with educated, working, bankers and graduates. these days, it is routine to rape a girl (under 18) and boast about it in public. Seriously, ever get into a beer-induced conversation from Palms, Mega to Ikeja, you will hear these stories like match highlights from the Barclays Premiership. It is real, Rape is a crime of fashion in Nigeria. so if you ever get your hands on a Rapist, take the law into your own hands (make sure nobody's watching) |
how else can you compete for congregation size in today,s world of people-people=money christianity |

you'd be surprised how many scammers are deeply interested in responses they get from nairaland. If you think your exposure campaign will do anything negative, that is where you have got it all wrong, they are not here to scam you directly, they are here to distract you while they setup some other mugu on or off nairaland in truth, your responses qualify their actions. 1: They get a prospective mugu on their own site or list of 'inter-connected' sites (bunch of scam sites setup to rail-road a mugu into dropping) 2: Owning to the ever-growing popularity of nairaland on google search, be it forex, condoms, oil and gas, aviation, soludo, ribadu, internet cash, ebullion etc. they can trust their mugu to read tips here where they would have in some period made actual contribution to threads relating to matters the mugu is interested in. this is where all those obvious scamming threads originate, to give some credibility to the original scam poster with his mugu. anyways, there is one i fear in e-spirit and would not like to meet in physical. Intelligent, Tech-savvy and Intelligent. the kind of scammer you will everly drop as a mugu whether you like it or not. damadsuite http://www.scamfraudalert.com/f8/union-national-bank-www-unblogin-com-6453/ |
Mythots exactly, this project is beyond a website, but it is not something that should be taken in one buffet session ![]() I will really appreciate all the info. i have two candidates (make that three thanks to @basking4me) Harvard University Howard University Pace University Will need to do a Functional Spec and Design Requirements. Will post here for review. when approved, will definitely source for freelancers here |
@olushola, you do not bore me with details at all. details i need in plentiful right now. especially requirements/specs Just googled up SocketWorks. and Ye Gads!!! they must be my primary competition because they already have a solution is place. CollegPortal and even got a loan from the IFC to boot http://www.ifc.org/ifcext/spiwebsite1.nsf/1ca07340e47a35cd85256efb00700cee/E3920C0E7EE1F616852572A7007472F1 Please kill me with details. this project does not have to start immediately |
@Atauyo Fellow webmasters, you need to understand that in web business you don't rush for jobsI don't know how to take it, but i think we should make every project an opportunity to educate and grow awareness of clients. 90% only think they have a clue and truly understand what should be done in the interest of value, purpose and brand. I go rush the job as long as it is profitable, otherwise you give the quacks the chance to do the job in a non-professional manner and even give the clients a much negative impression of what we do. Why else would a client wish to see a demo rather than go through your portfolio. 1: if you must do a demo (make it simply graphic -alt print screen) 2: list out beneficial features that your idea will bring in contrast with costs to client 3: let them know that doing a demo is not professional except they are prepared to get a functional demo for a price4: also gauge the value of your work properly. aggressive pricing is also evidence of professionalism. if your work is worth it, let it show in the price. 5: always make sure you let the client understand that your demo is strictly confidential (indicate as so too) templates are also a good start for demos, at least they look snazzy and they give the client an immediate waow! of what is possible, but do not let them ask you to modify it before committing financially to the project |
Hi Guys. yes clients are dubious fools most times but this is Naija. even the big firms ask for a demo, not just a picture-based demo, one that actually has some functionality. Infact there is a brokerage firm in Ikoyi (Awolowo Rd) that has done this. they get a demo, they are not comfortable with the price so they call in someone to modify and change the colors and add their own logo. But then, i believe it is our collective fault that this happens. the designer who ripped someone else's demo (and is probably on Nairaland) and the designer who never thought it necessary to include a Non-Disclosure and Intellectual Rights Statement attached to the demo. A lawyer friend tells me that it is so easy to do something illegal when doing business but we do not know it as Web Designers. Well here is what i do now. 1: Get a Non-disclosure statement at the very beginning of your proposal or demo website. this agreement does not need to be signed. the client only needs to go beyond the agreement page to see the demo and he is bound by the agreement. If he chooses to breach your agreement by giving it to another designer. simple, yo have just made easy cash without picking up a crayon. there are hundreds of lawyers who will take up your case and as long as it is a company, once they are summoned, it is an open 'n shut case, they will pay heavily or settle out of court. 2: Use a Business case. stress the need for real, measurable business value, rather than graphics and whooshing flash animation (though it is necessary effizzzy in Naija) My Biafran Krona |
Man, looks like i have to travel anywayz, Why do clients expect that you have factored travel costs into the design bill? |
@yawa-ti-de. 1: N150k does not sound like a good incentive to leave the comfortable (un) streets of Lagos to another state because of website (portal) 2: I will try the over-billing bluff first then see his reaction (maybe N500k) worst case he'll beat it down to N150k , ![]() 3: you are right. i should start with something basic but sufficient for information purposes only, updates on exams, events, notifications 4: I suspect (fearfully believe) the Students Registration / Results Checker should not be in the N150k (it should be a side project with its attendant costs) 5: Will check Joomla, fortunately i have seen several school(, iiish) templates around. 6: Opensource is good, U think PHP? at least it is not dynamic at this point so I won't have a hard time finding scripts that will do database stuff just yet 7: You know how people are, they drop a huge project and tell you, well we need to launch 1st of 2009 or before students resume or worse still, its my birthday next weekend, make sure its up so i can tell people to go see it. Do you think i should do something basic then try to convince him that this is a huge project that can take months to complete? 8: Unfortunately i have not done any projects of this nature, he'll probably see banks, finance companies, mobile entertainment but no schools. do you have any University Website development schedule, will probably find one on google, any help is appreciated at this point Thanks a lot, the N150 does look small. that's like the salary of 2 fresh graduates. not even up to a lecturer's salary |
1: We must recognize that the problem is political than religious or ethnic (those are simply vehicles used to deliver a political assault) 2: We must recognize that there will always be religious and ethnic friction when national resources run thin between the rich and the poor (i don't see Dangote fighting with his Southern and Christian Directors) 3: We must recognize that the Vision and Mission of Nigerian Military Forces (Army, Navy Air Force) and other Agencies (SSS, DMI, Police, MOPOL etc) are severely fractured and must be aligned with the vision of Nigeria as a whole (Why else would this government continue to demonstrate a total lack of political will when it comes to Security-related matters) 4: We must recognize that history only repeats itself when we (Nigerians) allow the people who made bad history, live to do it again and again and again. 5: We must open our eyes and minds to recognize that this democracy, regardless of what perceived dividends have been achieved is vulnerable to Military Coup. 6: We must recognize and ACT NOW!! |
Thanks for pointing that out. but who am i to challenge a Professor who is also influential in waiving my yearly alumnus dues? I think "portal" is unfathomable (it never ends) but the word stays because I am told the vision goes beyond Student Registration and Results Checker. they are looking at a Harvard University type affair (without the perceived costs i suspect). My fear is that I will propose a "portal" inevitably and a decision will be reached. costs estimates agreed and mobilization paid only to discover that what is actually required is a Spaceship that Students can get quality University Education in (something i don't plan to do even with a multi-billion naira budget) I need help in articulating typical University Requirements for website (portal) such that there are measurable benefits to all stakeholders (students, parents, cultists, police, lecturers, Government, Unions etc) I am sure NL members have been involved in at least 90% of all University websites in the country, i am hoping to share knowledge, project, and experiences. |
NL people. Once more I am faced with a decision-making problem (due to lack of intelligent info) on how to approach the issue of building an Education Portal You must forgive my approach to soliciting intelligent responses having not contributed to NL questions in a couple of years. So here goes 1: How much would you charge for a University Education Portal that does not have a budget 2: Would you design in phases (evolve from information only to complex features/functionality such as communities, blogs etc) 3: What will be your most credible points in your business case (what measurable benefits can you state to win the project bid) 4: What technologies would you use to build the portal (Opensource or Commercial) 5: What CMS would you deploy (dependent on question 4) 6: What time frames would you suggest You can skimp on the details (if it would be too technical) as general advice will be most appreciated Thanks for your online/offline time |
Good responses from y'all especially the parts about experience and skills. 1: Before you do interswitch, define your market and goals for revenue, How do you intend to make money? obviously selling stuff, but who is buying, why buy from you, why buy from you more than once. 2: Define your marketing strategy (how do you hope to become special in the eyes of the potential buyer who simply knows which bend in balogun to go get the latest in fashion, and cheap too) y'see when you have got the odds pinned down, the N150k interswitch fees won't look so big. and really if you have done up the site to come with a catalog and a shopping cart, interswitch integration is a plate of pancakes you can eat with maple syrup (it is easy as long as you pay attention to the simple instructions) A very good luck to you (not that you will need it) |
Well, well, it happens, and "Rightly Nigerian" the Minister of Information (Mis) has declared that Nigeria will fund the launch of another one ASAP. 1: The Satellite that promised to Map the entire country's enviroment, look for oil and provide internet to schools and ministries (last I heard, Galaxy Backbone had that contract) 2: The Satellite that could not find the plane that crashed with students nor the one that ex-Governors juba juba for Ogudu 3: The Satellite that has not delivered raw data that our Space and Research Scientist (sarcasm) can use to determine when fasting starts It is another N40 Billion down the drain, hmmm i that is just a N3 billion shy off the monies LOC wanted for the under 17 tournament. If we keep looking at Naija, she go do us abracadabra |

Since when did you need facts to know 1: Politicians in Nigeria enrich themselves criminally through their offices under a "democratic" regime 2: The Police and other State-sponsored security agencies have no vision or pro-active/pre-emptive plan for Justice and Peace in Nigeria 3: There exists policy and administrative loop-holes in every arm of government in Nigeria to facilitate corruption and continued missed economic targets 4: The Government is the professional in sensational arrests and disgrace of the same people they vigorously support in office as long as they stay in line. Do you need a Professor in Economics and Finance to produce a 48yr Research Report on Nigeria to tell you that every NEGATIVE event that has immense negative consequences in the citizenry and economy has deep roots in corruption other than simple mis-management and mal-administration (as Fela put it) Well so what if Elendu sensationalizes it, and has poor journalistic style and embellishes a lot in his reports, does it take anything away from the fact that a Thief is a Thief regardless of whether he was a freakin christian/muslim or educated politician or a mother with a good job but a crooked side to her life. So what if he intrudes on the privacy of his so-called crooks and thieves, did anyone tell you that you as a "registered" citizen of Nigeria have any rights to your own privacy because you feed and clothe your isolated and self-conceited selves without help from your government. When in your "memorable" lives did you remember a citizen charged with corruption loosing everything he stole, We are so eager to watch the drama on TV and Newspapers because we have nothing but our socially and emotionally dis-franchised egos to butter with Government brain-washing and propaganda, I am amazed at how easily we ignore the fact that "FACTS" were supplied to charge ex-governors and ministers with corruption and those said documents are "missing" from the offices of avowed corruption and crime fighters!!! These crooks still live their lives like Kings, still have immense influence in what goes on in this country (as per continued degradation of the economy) Infact, to take a line from the popular Lagos saying, "Demm no dey tell Blind Man say rain dey fall" We learned people of fairyland will wait till the house burns to the ground before we confirm that it was indeed a fire that burnt the house, even that with substantiated facts that it as a natural fire not artificial or rumored. have a blissful weekend ![]() If Elendu makes this 48yr old government uncomfortable with his reporting, then they should whisk-away Peter Odili for sponsoring and arming militants during his tenure as Governor of Rivers State just a rumour and he did not corruptly enrich himself too ![]() |
