what is friggin indecent, i had a similar argument with some preachy friends last week, christians are starting to become extremist islamist, cover up your body because i don't want to have to think bad and lustful thoughts when i am praying to God, i fyou are a weak soul, then go for deliverance, are you saying our soo called pastors after early morning Holy Spirit anointing , will falter because they say a brethren in tight clothes, it does not matter whether they dress indecent or not,. people will be lustful if they wish to, it is all in their dirty minds, so mr born-again, if you cannot put your body under your spirit, then leave church and stop giving excuses to go do what you do when you think lustful thoughts of "indecent" people in church

It is serious, we might be doing business longer than you think,
I just need a reliable supplier with 1 year manufacturer warranty (HP)

The company is moving to a bigger office before the end of the yr. (pending when networking/security/WAN/LANis ready)
soo there is more than laptops to procure. there's Network Printers, Wireless Hubs, CCTV Cameras(hardware/Software)

The Laptops are for new employees who have already resumed and I need it fast, there are also two laptops that need replacement so we are talking possibly 5 laptops when the approval comes in for the other two. right now there is need for three.

The reason why I specified 3 different models is this,
the one with 2GB RAM is for a programmer. (nx7400 /nc8430)
the Pavilion is just a wish list (if the price is right then we would go for it.)

I need it delivered within this week on next week monday (it is long overdue)

If you can do me a quotation listing your prices and costs and delivery schedule. I'd be appreciative.
Please remember that costing is competitive as we shall be talking to the supplier with the most cheapest (as long as service warranty comes with each laptop)

Lookign forward to recieving your quote lagerwhenindoubt@yahoo.com

Thanks

Thanks for responding, I need it urgently.

I wish this were in the technology forum because they are guys that know about this kind of stuff and they hardly visit Adverts.

Please Forum Admin, move it back to were it would get the most attention

Thanks

I think we give lust a negative connotation when it is still the same thing as passion (in the context of relationships ohh>) before some lunguists pulls out amn encyclopedia
Christianity Etc › Re: My Pastor Says That It's O.k. If He: by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 8:35am On Sep 02, 2006
pastors are humans, there ar every few anointed men of Gd who have not had sex, and I thinkit is Elijah, Samuel and Jesus, Moses was a randy fella, so he's just being diplomatic. so your views about his holyside are not blemished.

I think it is the society we live in. we are all sinners and want to have some holy people we can run to when we have problems, that puts a lot of "image"pressure on the holy men, and they bottleup their human side. It spills at the wrong moments, for you to totally abstain from sex without effort, you need to be constantly in the spirit, it is not easy. even Jesus had to get into the Spirit mood to pray. i tell you it is not easy.
Webmasters › Re: Best Web Hosting Company In Lagos? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 12:30am On Aug 30, 2006
hmmn, the only host that piqued my interests 3-4 years back was Pinet Informatics, they were (in my opinion) the first webhost in nigeria to migrate to Windows 2003 and provide hands-on support with development issues. they sucked as#$ but they tried their best until i found out about custom components that did exactly what i wanted and without registering COM objects on the webhosts' server.

I have a friend who is into webhosting www.georgeswebsite.com. he's okay and really opensource. (so only opensource gurus will love hosting on him), but he gives cheap windows hosting and i can run him ragged with for months without paying up for yearly renewals grin

I am not a fan of backward innovation (reinvent the wheel but make it a square and call it fashionable and "on-time"wink. I know how difficult it is to start a webhosting business, if you are going to do it right, get beyond the little-leaguers. look at what obtains abroad. I am not saying splash out building a tech data center and getting mega bandwidth and rack-servers. I am saying, get skilled people for support and get lots of practical web components that work, (i believe capitalists hate to work when they can get someone to do it for them) and compete on the nigerian market from that level, y'd be suprised how many customers youwill recieve.

You have not been in my shoes otherwise you'll hear stories of how webhosters are contacting your client for web design business or simply taking down yoursite and placing a "Pay up your debts and have your site running again" on a client's website, the unprofessionalisim always seeps out, then gushes.

It is unlikely i will host serious apps and sites with a nigerian host in the near future. , don't blame me, some ordinary standards are just looked on as "over-sabi" in Naija

Webmasters › Re: Best Web Hosting Company In Lagos? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 7:29pm On Aug 20, 2006
I do not host with Naija webosts for these reason (hate me all you want)

1: They are resellers to other BIG providers abroad so you pay more for the same services.
2: Some charge you based on the how many static pages or dynamic pages you have on your web folder (how un-intelligent)
3: For $100 equivalent, you get 10 mailboxes and between 10mb to 200mb space.
4: no support for free and commercial activex or pearl/CGI components like cybercash ASPupload etc
5: only linux account gives you all the opensource (awuuf) for 4 times the price and four times less the value than you will get if you hosted abroad.
6: I have been shafted several times for exceeding bandwidth or some other spurious charge like large emals went through your account or you sent more than 1000 emails in a week (like if they have their own backbone or internet gateway)

Before you guyz n girls and mamas and papas flame me, i will look at your services and packages one-by-one.

thanks

as i have said,

But for those who think along the lines of grammar and semantics, no problem, just one of many arguments that can lead anywhere but a single conclusion (i do no think truth has 2 versions)
we all know the way metaphors behave be it in english, hausa or yoruba, suffer could mean a lot of things depending on the context , but this is a simple matter that needs no brain wwracking, the few times God or Jesus did not communicate in parables or puzzling dreams, so why is it so difficult to understand that whether its words ("Spirit or Ghost"wink or meaning ("Living being or dead being"wink they (adjectives) cannot be used interchangeably and mean the same thing in one sentence cos they transform (qualify) the word after it , all I am saying is while we can comfortably understand when someone says "The Ghost of God moved over the waters" and say, "heck, why did you not just say Spirit instead" can be a matter of what sounds better of the two.

The path most travelled is the same thing as the road most travelled, "raging fire" is not the same thing as "raging inferno' i hope you catch my drift (literally)

But let us quit this already, some people don't mind Spirit or Ghost, some do. the good thing is we catch the drift. Ghost or Spirit we are talking about a celestial, spiritual form or intelligent being who is our comforter and will reveal all things (sadly not the burning mystery of his/its true form)

I try to avoid religious "sacred mystries"

I just think that we blur the lines between fact and near fact, we dearly love grey areas, sort of like lukewarm christians, it makes it easier to accept a whole lot of unbliblical and unscriptural concepts,

God is not a Ghost, He is a Spirit being and those who worship him must do so in spirit and in truth,, even i an "avowed sinner" knows that

But for those who think along the lines of grammar and semantics, no problem, just one of many arguments that can lead anywhere but a single conclusion (i do no think truth has 2 versions)

Thank you. and adios
Christianity Etc › Re: Holy Spirit Or Holy Ghost: Which Is Right? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 2:19am On Aug 15, 2006
i think not,  while this thread has packed a majority of posts that either
[li]"out-and-out" ignore  the purpose behind the question (What is Holy Spirit and What is Holy Ghost) [/li]
[li]simplify the matter soooo much that it starts to play like a bored topic (similar to the kind of behavior with Naija police claiming a political killing is just plain random street robbery, or hoodlums[/li]
Ignorance of a "simple" fact is often an indication or admitance of truth or simply a sign of fear, lack of knowledge or a strong belief.
Does Islam (the extreme one) stop women from climbing on the back of a camel with a man because they were too close for comfort?,  fast-forward to the 21st century,  they still stop women from sitting in the back seat of a spacious car with a man,  is that ignorance or reasoning?

Permit me to be slightly off-tangent,  (but on course)
We have a "Spirit" a life form that exists after we kick the bucket.
it is our replacement body for use in another realm (Spirit realm) tis why we can say "demons and evil spirits."
"the spirit is willing but the body is weak" "the crowd moved with one spirit", "the spirit of the lord is upon me".  Always "Spirit of Hell" and not "Ghosts of Hell",  Spirit of the Lord and Not Ghost of the Lord,  unless you believe in the grey-haired God of yonder-years,  then i guess he's permitted to kick the bucket and ghost our earhtly realm every sunday.

Our soul is what keeps body and spirit alive,  when you astral travel (for those who do) your spirit travels but you are tied to your soul not your physical body(it is your life force because the body is dead)

So unless God is dead,  he cannot have a ghost,  he can have a spirit (don't ask me the specifics because i never reach that level).
besides the Holy Ghost is a dude,  because he is always refered to as "He",  how human to ascribe such a concept a male stereotype,  The Holy Ghost never appears in the Bible,  only human Ghosts like that of prophet Samuel,  called up by a medium who sees evil spirits and stuff.

So there it is. you can rightly ignore it or accept it and move on,  God does not have a Ghost,  holy or otherwise,  When we die,  we die.Spirits yea,  Ghosts,  f'course,  but they are often confused and haunting people or not wanting to go away and rest in the cemetery. I can dig spirits,  but i doubt i'd ever be scared of a Ghost.

As i have pointed out,  centuries of conspiratory brain-washing is having its effect on the world, have you tried questioning each spirit. try doing that with a ghost,

Finally finally, i could not resist, You can be possessed by Spirits or a Spirit (abi you don't believe that too.) simply because our human bodies are a suitable hosts to Spirits, I have never heard or seen anyone being possessed by a ghost. and besides they speak different languages, Spirits speak in tongues, (u dig?) and ghosts simply go "Booo!!' or Mua hah ahha hahaha ahahha. (with echoes and wind effects to boot) grin

Oga, don't tell me u do not know,

any gathering of like and unlike minds in pursuance of the worlds oldest venture (God) can only mean two things,
1: The gathering is in need of the usual emotional rush "crusade fever" the promise of a good marriage, husband, prosperity, men just want to achieve and a lot feel time is wasted listening to a lively jock like pastor chris, when practical hustling or philantrophy is called for, men typically commune with God in thoughts, women need to show it.

2: intrinsic socializing -- because most men are hardly emotional outwardly, they can do with not going to church because it involves sitting in midst of people . women love that sort of thing,

I am obviously out of my depth here, but i remember a particular argument (during our zeal-filled SU days) that puts the position like this

The Holy Spirit is appropriate and referenced to be God's persona (always refered to as Spirit in the Bible)

The Holy Ghost is a contrived Roman Catholic characterization of the same aimed at subtly embellishing controversial tenets of the Catholic doctrine with some semblance of truth and biblical authority

example, because we believe in the Holy Ghost and frequently refer to him (not it or an adjective) we can feel comfortable with having Ghosts of our beloved removed from place of suffering to paradise by simply paying monies or a similar ritual, rather than believign that the dead are deader than dead-wood and await judgment on judgement day.

methinks the death toll is insignificant, compared to the Kaduna riots, well over 1000 in one week, and that is without rockets and automatic weapons,

I cannot believe Kofi Annan will sping into action so actively, and be seated like roast pork when the govt of Khartoum and their bleeding supporter of APC killed millions of non-muslim (non-arab) sudanese.

I think isreal is in her right though she's marshalling too much in committing to driving deeper into lebanon, the damage is deep to satisfy surrounding arab nations not allied to iran and hezbollah and Al-queda, any deeper, Isreal risks raising emotional alliances from less xtreme islamic states
Christianity Etc › Re: Telekinesis - To Those Who Do Not Believe In The Supernatural by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 10:35pm On Aug 12, 2006
I think it all got explained to me by a practical evangelist back in my secondary school days when touch and follow rings with all sorts of occultic craze was the in-thing for kids my age.

i had read about telekenisis and Uri Geller (destroyer of innocent spoons) and thought i could employ some teleporting as he mentioned in his book to swing my "cheat-sheet" into class during exams (after days of dedicated practice) I went into exam with the most silliest of looks (serious FBI agent looking for aliens), after 30minutes my cheat sheet refused to appear from the nearby location i had hidden it, I wrote the best i could and failed predictably, (I had the sorriest of grades that term).

Over the long holidays, I asked my fellowship pastor if he believed Jesus teleported himself to his disciples after visiting mary, he asked why i'd think a thing like that. I told him of my attempts, after a studied silence he asked me this,

Do you believe in God and that he exists without a doubt -- I said yes.
Dou you believe Satan and his demons exist in our world -- I said yes.

Demons move objects, not your mind, unfortunately, that discussion led me to reading up on Poltergiests and other object-moving spirits. (so much for preaching)

Hello,
Can anyone do for me a brief performance (capabilities and cost) of an "enterprise" application that handles

Financial Services (Accounting function, Asset Management, Stockbrokerage,CRM, HR etc)

Checklist
1: All Integrated modules (can stand independently), but must draw data or info across all modules so there is a single "accurate" view
2: Must be proven technology in use In Naija or Outside Naija (so Oracle Financials, Navision is okay)
3: where available, a factsheet showing all or substantial capabilities

I need to prepare a recommendation for introducing a Financial Services Solution that handles the above,

Not restricted to the above checklist so please feel free to suggest as many as possible

Webmasters › Re: Embedding News Headlines On Your Webpage? by lagerwhenindoubt(m): 12:39am On Jul 28, 2006
Well, for me it'll depend on if the news site has rss feeds, if it does then AJAX and some php or asp is required to retrieve the feeds and display in your customized format (using css)

Try http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ for code on working with RSS feeds

If you are looking at guardian, then you can outrightly frame the page which is unprofessioal for me personally (why hijack someones work) Or, if you know HTML DOM, you can use ASP or php to read the page (fortunately there's some css tags so it is easy to identity what is a news link and what is not, read the links and pull out titles and urls to dynamically create your own links when the user visits your page, though i prefer the Ajax method,

here's a link that does it in RSS http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex18/index.html

Or if you want to rIPP the page and put it on yours you will need to invoke the WinHTTP component (only works on IIS 5-6) so this is ASP country
