I think it is time for Nigerians to admit that the ideal of a One-Nigeria without Ethnic Boundaries simply won't work - we are just too selfish   Take Lagos for instance - Surulere, Aguda in particular. the  place is virtually a graveyard come Christmas because all the Igbos have gone home for Holidays. do you know how difficult it becomes to get good food when all the food good joints belong to Igbos, all Provision stores, Fruits etc. You have got to admit they make a significant contribution to the micro-economy of Lagos state worth noting. Same thing for Lagos Island. who do you think owns majority of the thriving businesses there? It is a ghost town every christmas unless you are looking for cheap chinese singlets and slippers or fake body cream and cheap boxers  

Fasola has to push for better ethnic representation, without the Igbos supporting the micro-economy at such a grass-root level, where would she be today with her big IGR figures. I noticed how Igbos worked for Political positions from Chairman - Councillors, guess what! they all lost to incompetent,non-performing Yorubas

I was born in Zaria of a Muslim (Hausa) Father and Christian (Yoruba) Mother, got my primary education from an Muslim/Arabic school and lived in Sabon-Gari uptill i was 15. I agree there is a trend in character of Yoruba Muslim but i doubt it has anything to do with the Islamic faith - I think it is deeply rooted in Ethnic and Social misunderstanding and hatred built and cemented over decades of Political and Economic (perceived and actual) grievances - the only face to express seething frustrations is through Religion - The only attritious divider of humanity (ironic is it not). After-all North-South-Anywhere Muslims read the same Quran be it in Hausa, Igbo or Mandarin? Violence in Islam is pregnant with common traits of Poverty (Intellectual, Social and Economic). It kinda reminds you of how Hitler used Religion against the Jews does it not

@OP in the evident rush to express zeal in each other's faith, we can completely loose sight of the fact that the holy books were writtenhand-written by men - inspired of God/Allah. why have Bible texts stopped completely in modern times, why is the Quran not expanding with inspiration and news from Allah's Angels, has Shaytan retired from active service. Does God have no message outside the 2-3 thousand years since Jesus? the reason for such inconsistency in thought/action in the holy books cannot be blissfully ignored (thus faithfully accepted) - are there no contradictions? why can we not question the mental state/social motivations of the scribes? it won't be the first time religious texts have been tampered with to indoctrinate and control groups.

I do not know about the maths - but what I would like to know is that why is it that when I am in the UK, i see up to 2MB downloading stuff that will read 34Kbps in Nigeria. Do ISPs in the UK measure a universal accepted metric such as bandwidth differently from ISPs in Nigeria - is our 256Kbps a poor man's 2MB! I have never heard an ISP engineer explain this convincingly to me. I actually see 2MBps per second downloading via IE. I cannot try that sh.it on a Nigerian ISP Swift or Mobitel
