Politics › Re: If The North Bleeds, Nigeria Bleeds - Dare Awoniyi Warns Southerners by lagosrd: 8:56am On Jan 14, 2017 |
Kemperor: - Mr Dare Awoniyi has warned southerners not to take the crisis in the north for granted
- The Kogi-born public affairs analyst says the North is strategic to the country
- Awoniyi is the son of Late Sunday Awoniyi, the former chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum
A public affairs analyst and leader of thought in northern Nigeria, Mr Dare Awoniyi has warned southerners in Nigeria not to be indifferent about the crisis in the north.
Awoniyi who is the son Late Sunday Awoniyi, the former chairman of the Arewa Consultative Forum made the statement at a book launch in Abuja yesterday, January 12.
The event was the book launch of renowned professor and author, Olufemi Vaughan titled Religion and the Making of Nigeria.
He said: ''If the north bleeds, Nigeria bleeds because there is no town like Kaduna when it comes to a melting pot. Every tribe, village and hamlet in Nigeria are represented in Kaduna.''
He continued: ''We must turn this aggression into development. If we don't solve Nigeria's problems, it will destroy this country.''
Speaking on the book, Awoniyi said:''Religion is about God. When people decide to do for God what God is supposed to do for man, it becomes a problem.
''We cannot fight for God. It is an abuse of God and the concept of God to try to defend God. We should wait and let God defend us. If God is God, let him fight for himself.
''We must continue to think about where we go from here, what we do, with the information that is provided in the book and the instances of the forensic evidence provided in the book.
''We must go back to those values and ideals. When the masses are educated, they will be able to decide effectively what they want to engage it without being coerced into any untoward action.
''Education is the only basis by which sustainable economic development and growth can be effected in Nigeria.''
On his part, Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka lamented the fact that many Nigerians have Soyinka lamented the fact that many Nigerians have ''paid the ultimate price'' because of religion.
His words: ''The innocent ones are the ones who often pay the ultimate price in religious crisis. Even religious leaders cannot denounce the murdering acts of religion.
''Religion now induce trauma and anxiety instead of solace that it claims to give. Religion is the ironic product of human inadequacy.
''There is a monster always waiting to pounce on innocent Nigerians under the name of religion.''
https://www.naij.com/1082504-dare-awoniyi-warns-nigeria-abandon-north.html Let me respond in politicians grammar. He spoke in the personal capacity of a misguided errand boy of the northern elite. What is out business with the north. Until we go regional we are only deceiving ourselves. Development will just be a mirage. |

blackpanda: Very stuppid Governor. Serious leaders dont have the time to be stalking every move of other leaders. The speak very loudly with the work of their hands through development and improving the lives of their followers. Fayose should compare himself with other opposition Governor like Obiano, and see that he has completely failed ekiti people. Exactly how a black panda should think. Hahahaha |

Hiploko: one cannot question God, we would have asked why the amalgamation... Obviously the differences are enormous Ure very correct my brother but we that want to move higher in life should do something. Some set of people have poised to dominate others even if they lack reasonable knowledge about anything, they are just hell bent on the I must rule issue. Kindly note also that there is no significant improvement of the northern part of this country compared to the southern part, in terms of everything ranging from technological advancement to ICT, to education to science. They just keep needing a vast populace of illiterates and phedophiles and almagiris and it seems they ate comfortable with it. Even the religion they claim they know it's just been fanatism all the way. Their government are really terrible than imagined. All thy care for is the elite class. |

Hiploko: ask him also of cutting grass corruption,London Embassy issues and packing poo corruption too So funny how some of our colleagues can't still differentiate between what is good for them and not. Politicians are not to be supported blindly. gej might how made some mistakes but he was still the the president then. And whatever decision he made then was in the best interest of the nation the same way buhari is doing, however that doesn't not mean some issues such as diversion and stealing doesn't come into play. Nepotism and abuse of office is also common here in Nigeria. Most of what we accuse Jonathan's government is doing is exactly what is happening now in this government. It's even worse here and now. Once you deflect to APC Ure a saint in this country. Corruption cases and accusations everywhere ranging from fist lady, senate president, speaker of house of reps, governors and ministers and all sorts of funny things that the west is talking about . Lastly, don't forget no matter what Jonathan had good intentions for Nigeria but ask the northern oligarchy and elites who said its very expensive to maintain an alimanjiri school and you just keep wondering are we really suppose to be together as a country? |

Only if more of your type are gotten in most families. Maybe the poverty level in most families might have been reduced. You seems to have interest in other people excelling and prospering. Let me confess am already falling in love to how you are sponsoring your cousin and family member to give them a better life than sending them money. May God bless you. Most people here have one person or the other abroad who are just too selfish or greedy to assist others, I mean their own people out of this Bermuda triangle called nigeria. |

I worked 8-9 Years in naija but I was not fulfilled with the system and I became scared of what will happen to my kids with the present economic situation in the country. I won't deceive you that school is nothing but a pretence and hypocrisy center. You don't allow your student a bit of freedom. You corner them into monolithic dressing, and you almost islamisize the school just because it is in Ilorin. You harass students at will, no sense of belonging what do ever. No admission and fraudulent admission strategies. Apply for a course and only to be told that a few of you guys applied and they can't continue with the programme meanwhile a whole sum of #25k was not refunded . That is the first post secondary school I have seen that will say because you just finished serving then you cannot run masters programme. I think the federal government should uproot a lot of things their including their VC |

Investment › Re: Prediction And Analysis On The Future Of MMM - Cramjones by lagosrd: 5:17pm On Dec 17, 2016 |
cramjones: As always, I would comment on contemporary issues that affect the Nigerian populace. All for love of Nigeria. Even though I believe that Nigeria as it stands is close to a failed state, we can all do more through visionary leadership to emancipate our country from the cesspit that has gutted it. That said, I have followed closely the MMM phenomenon since it came to my attention, and as it is normal of my analytical mind, I have taken time to study the trend, review historical facts, and all other data available to me. After this review I have therefore, come to the following conclusions on the fate of MMM.
1. For those that are hoping MMM would suddenly resurface in January because the Nigerian planter's wife said so in a note, are definitely setting themselves up for depression. Nothing of such would happen. This is the deal, MMM is not an investment it is a gamble. The money is only redistributed therefore the system would crash when two conditions occur - something that has already taken place - and these conditions are as follows:
-When new comers or "help providers" exceeds those who want to receive "help" it sets the stage for a crash
-When those withdrawing exceeds a critical amount needed to keep it rolling regardless of the number of people joining, then the system would crash.
I believe these two conditions have been met. Christmas time is a time no one wants to give money, rather they want to be helped, with the overwhelming withdrawals that far exceeded the "help providers" the system had to be shut down, because money does not grow on trees.
2. If MMM ever have a blinker to open, which I doubt very much in January as stated in their later, there would be a state of panic withdrawals, and there would be sharp decline of the new people that would have otherwise joined. This panic withdrawals, would lead the MMM handlers to shut it down completely and take with them whatever is left of the system.
3. The other reason MMM had to shut down early December is more likely than not to ensure maximum "cash outs" by the handlers. At this time there is an all time high of money in the system because people put in most of what they had to ensure they get good cash for the Christmas, this high would not happen any other time of the year, so this was the best time for the handlers to cash out big, and I believe they already did.
Finally, the MMM phenomenon further shows the failed system of Nigeria. This system only flourishes in this magnitude in failed countries. It thrived in Russia during the collapse of the Soviet Union, failed Zimbabwe, thrived in failed parts of South Africa, like Soweto. People have lost hope in any decent labor or lack of jobs thereof. Other are greedy and sometimes plain dumb.
Good luck to everyone "waiting" in trepidation to get help. I wish you luck.
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria
