PoliticsRe: Federal Allocation For Lagos For January 2016 by Laid2001: 5:20pm On Feb 25, 2016
Lagos Budget is above N500 Billion.

At this total monthly rate of N5.4 billion per month, Lagos will get a mere N65 billion from the federal purse.!

remaining is expected to come from IGR more than N250 Billion and loan will take care of the rest for now until price of crude improves and federal allocation goes back to above N10 billion per month.

This amount of N5.4 billion per month for Lagos a mega city of more than 15 million people is grossly too low.!
PoliticsRe: Why Did EFCC Refuse To Investigate The Following People? by Laid2001: 3:59pm On Feb 25, 2016
Focus of anti-corruption is the immediate past regime.
And that is a good thing as it streamlines the number to take at a time. Moreso, it is assumed that all previous regimes ahead of GEJ have been vindicated if not yet probed by GEJ. that is the assumption. It is GEJ regime to probe the REGIME before his own.

Given that, it means Obong, El-Rufai, Atiku, Abacha, Sylva are excluded. And you surely don't expect them to probe a dead man Audu, more so he fall in the old regime as well. All old things are gone and forgiven!

As for Amaechi, Fashola and Fayemi, their files have been looked at by the EFCC and found not wanting!. Any other party that found them culpable also have assess to the courts and can as well prosecute them. After all, the Supreme courts have said in Atiku vs OBJ that the states have powers to prosecute any Nigerian even if he does not reside in that state.

BusinessSouth Africa's Economy 'in Crisis' by Laid2001(op): 10:54pm On Feb 24, 2016
The South African economy is 'in crisis' says the country's finance minister Pravin Gordhan.
The comments came ahead of his Budget speech, in which he cut the country's growth forecast for 2016 to 0.9%, down from 1.7%.
He conceded the economy was struggling with shrinking growth, 25% unemployment, and widespread poverty.
The South African currency, the rand, which has halved over the past five years, fell after the speech.
It dropped 2.25% to make one rand worth around $0.0639.
In a briefing ahead of the Budget, Mr Gordhan said: "There is no doubt about the fact that we are in crisis."
The measures announced in Parliament were aimed at stopping the country falling into recession and to appease the rating agencies who have threatened to downgrade South Africa to junk status, which would raise borrowing costs for the country.
Mr Gordhan unveiled government spending cuts, a civil service job freeze and some moderate tax rises.
These tax increases affect property sales, fuel, sugary drinks, alcohol, tobacco and and capital gains, as well as environmental levies, which are expected to bring in an extra 18bn rand ($1.18bn; £840m).
He had been expected to announce plans on privatising state assets - he fell short of that but said the government was looking at the possibility of merging the loss-making national carrier, South African Airways, with the state-owned SA Express airline "with a view to engaging with a potential minority equity partner".
Privatisation has long been resisted by sections of the ruling African National Congress.

Governor of riyadh is a Prince and a Cabinet Member in saudi arabia likewise the Governor of Mecca and that of Medina.

The governor of these three states are ranked hire than many ministers apart from the crowned prince that doubles as the Prime minister and at times as defense minister as well.!

saudi runs unitary royal government and all the governors are princes.

PoliticsRe: Fayose To FG: Keep Your TSA, We Are Not Interested. by Laid2001: 11:46am On Feb 20, 2016
So your GEJ is oblivious of this assertion of yours abi!.

You surely does not know about banking enough. I even doubt your computer programming knowledge!

Even CBN banking software engineers could not write software to harmonize individuals account and they have to come up with BVN.

And BVN works aftereffect when all banks make report of the daily activity. Then each BVN will be ran through the combined transactions to keep track of individual's transaction. And anti laundering experts can then ran a series of queries through it.

ON TSA, it works in a similar way to BVN. Each bank send in the TSA money at the end of the day. But with report of each sub TSA account. So that CBN can track how much comes in through each ministries and MDAs. The last few digits on the TSA account distinguish one MDA from the other.

As i am an Engineer, I have noticed that COREN, which is now on TSA, has a TSA account, but its account has an appendage to show that it is for COREN. The VAT or other tax payment also on TSA but different appendages. All the TSA money are remitted to the CBN at the end of each day with their report. CBN can track what each payment is meant for via the codes.

No bank has crashed or been threatened of crashing since the FGN withdrawer of its account. In fact the CBN lending rate has come down afterwards to increase liquid cash availability to the banks.

plaetton:
I sympathize with you.
But like I said earlier, this is the computer and information age.
An inexpensive software program can simultaneously harmonize ,update and monitor a million government accounts in real time.
It's not rocket science.

Yes Nigeria produces 2 million barrels but it is supposed to be doing 2.8 million per day if not for the useless insecurity.

Even out of the 2 million about 505 are now from offshore. Offshore that use to account for less than 20% when Nigeria use to produce 2.4million barrels per day. Gone are the days!

HopeAtHand:
Cost effective and economic sense is by siting oil installations and related investments in the Niger Delta . If Buhari cannot deal with insecurity and restiveness in Nigeria, its an indictment on him as the President of the country.

You claim Insecurity and youth restiveness in the Niger Delta, yet Nigeria still produces more than 2million barrels per day from the same region.

Bunch of fvckers. NDelta is only good for exploration and oil spill while Lagos deserves dry dock.

PoliticsRe: Buharinomics Is Working Despite The Initial Pains by Laid2001: 4:57pm On Feb 19, 2016
And FER is reversible unlike the devaluation that we have always resort to in situation like this!

Devaluation has never worked for us in Nigeria and I believe it is high time we test something else.

"Insanity is doing the same thing and expect a different result"

If we devalue Naira we will not be able to stimulate export!. I know because we have always being devaluing Naira and it has never stimulated export.

arewafederation:
Allow the currency float you say? When will it reach its equilibrium?

All these benefits you highlighted can also be achieved with the FER with an additional advantage of supporting our exporters whose products may become uncompetitive with a rapid rise in the dollars.

The key here is reducing imports and aiding local manufacturers to produce for local consumption and increasing our exports. And I think FER isn't a bad idea.

PoliticsRe: Budgetgate And The 2 Trillion Fraud by Laid2001: 4:13pm On Feb 18, 2016
First it is good that some people are made to pay for the apparent errors and fraud attempts in the budget!.

This is first of its kind in our nation. never has fraudulent people in government parastatals ever been made to answer to their actions.

Even when caught pant down during GEJ, people were allowed to explain glaring fraud away.

Although, puting amount in Budget itself does not mean fraud, until the money get collected and into personal pockets instead of providing services or structures for the citizens. Nonetheless, it is the precursor to the actual fraud.

Many ministers (health minister as example)actually disown their ministries so called budget at the NASS defense session, as the figures the assembly men has from budget office was completely different from what the ministers has. Most of the time far more items were in the NASS version than the ministers copies.
These set of ministers have the courage to contradict the higher figures. Yet in the past, former ministers would simply have agreed to the higher cost and claim it, since it means more money to share for the boys!..

this is as a result of an ineffective buffoon squanderemania!
All the money they squandered were supposed to be spent in putting good storage system in place for agric boom like this.

That will be average of a N5 billion per trip of Jonathan, that is assuming he travels every week throughout these three years.

Yet Fayose complains about the $1million per trip of bubu!. In three years, if Bubu travels every week he would have spent $162 in three years. That will be equal to N32.4 billion at official rate and N48 billion at black market rate.

Conclusion GEJ is a spendthrift and megalomaniac compared to Bubu!.

How do you start to compare N300 million per trip of Bubu to a minimum of N5 billion per trip of GEJ!

BeeBeeOoh:
North East: Senate Turns Down Budget Proposal For Information Ministry..

ABUJATHE Senate, yesterday, refused to treat the budget proposal for the Federal Ministry of Information due to lack of provision for media propaganda in the North East.

The Senate Committee on Information, which took the decision during the ministry’s budget defence, insisted that the ministry must not only rework but also re-present its budget with provisions for effective media propaganda in the North East.

The committee on information, headed by Senator Enyinaya Abaribe, PDP, Abia South, directed that the ministry should bring a budget that will cater for the needs of its media agencies. Abaribe’s directive was sequel to the observation raised by a member of the committee and senator representing Bayelsa North, Ben Bruce, who had decried the non inclusion of budget for media operations in the North East, in the wake of the Boko Haram insurgency. Bruce, in his remark, had pointed out that during the Nigerian Civil War, the media was effectively used to propagate relevant information. He therefore appealed that the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, and Voice of Nigeria, VON, should go and add the required component.

He said: “It would have made more sense for the information budget of the Army to be given to the Ministry of Information to equip these stations to be used by the military as a source of communication.

“For instance, if there is going to be an air raid in a particular area, we can warn the citizens to stay off that particular area".
