The term's meaning has been expanded to include the ability to use language, numbers, images and other means to understand and use the dominant symbol systems of a culture.

Literacy does not realy mean ability to speak good English. Once you can read and write in any language, you are presumed to be literate. It is sad enough that 65 million people in Nigeria can not read nor write in any language whatsoever.

Majority of the remaining more than 100 million people are also semi illiterate as demonstrated by people on this forum! It is not against the law in this country of ours. In fact Lagos state has removed bigamy from its statute, because, the law as it is, recognizes polygamy for Muslims, traditionalist and any other person that chooses it.With the exception of those that chooses to go for court wedding.

In The USA, there are enough loopholes that makes the practice of polygamy quite legal. If you insert this in your marriage contract from day one, so shall it be. Fashola ran an open government. That he even dared to make information on all his contracts available to everyone online is a testimony to that.
Rather than for Ambode to take down the website, I think he should have continued in that tradition and even go further than headline topics for each contracts by making detailed scope of each contracts available.!.

Not a single other governor has achieved what Fashola did. Despite the fact that some of the contracts looks exhorbitant and unrealistically expensive, I am convinced that if you have information on other states and their contracts, you will realise that Lagos state contracts during Fashola is Top Quatile.

Ambode have made some contract awards and he is still afraid of loading this contracts on the government website.! Rather, he is taking down the site. Where will the public get info on his projects?.

Note that the info on all these so called Fashola contracts were available even during the last campaign, it is a pity that PDP were too afraid to make it an issue due to the fact that these will be child play compared to the Federal government contracts.

Fashola never claimed to be a saint, he has tried his best to give us transparent governance, it may not be perfect, but still the best so far in the whole of Nigeria!!

May be you can learn from my situation,

1. I also come from a Polygamous family and I would not exchange my family experience for another one. Coming from Polygamous family is not an hindrance in life!. It enriches our experience in life and make us stronger. Clear your minds of bad thought about your step mums and siblings, they are more often than not trapped in the same situation as you are.

2. Having wet dreams is not unusual for a grown up man that is not married and the fact that you have been experiencing it since puberty only shows that you are sexually active and ok. Nothing is wrong with you. Men body is designed to get rid of sperms one way or the other anyway!. I also used to have wet dreams, even with all sought of witches that my mind could conjourn then. This continued until I got married. Only marriage and fasting can reduce your level of wet dreams.

3. That you are unemployed even after graduation and training in printing press, is nothing. I am a graduate of Mechanical Engineering. After graduation, I bought three 80 leave higher education notebook, (It was a common notebook in those days) and used all of it to apply for all companies that were listed on the yellow page that I feel relate to my field. (That is doing my part). Of courese nothing was forth coming, so I offered myself as a lesson teacher in an afternoon lesson. did that for some time, then offered myself to be giving private lesson to Abdul rahman, the son of a commissioner in Yola where I was serving. Note that, I only got to know AbdulRahman's father in the mosque as i am Yoruba and they are fulani. I only marketed myself to him. After service, I took up a teaching job briefly in a private secondary school. I later moved on to to work in a plastic moulding company, I was the most qualified person in that company with less than 10k as salary. But I was not Idle and I was gathering experience to put in my CV. This was how I started jumping from job to job.

All you need do is to start from somewhere, there is always something to do!. It may not be an ideal job but never be idle, this is the lesson, I learn since I was small. My dad, is an afaa, imam, a weaver, and a mualim (arabic teacher) in a primary school.

1. When a country is broke, it does not mean there is no shishi in the treasury of that country. Greek that is is the brokest of countries today still attends to some commitments. At least some salaries are paid, emergency services are funded, yet only a dounce will ask where is Greek getting these fund to keep the emergency services running!

2. Since May 29th when the treasury was empty, Nigeria continued to sell its products in the international market and our incomes did not stop. Only what was in the treasury was looted. New incomes have since being coming in, part of which was the NLNG money that was refunded to the Federation.

Whilst Nigeria, may not be bouyant due to the last minute looting in May this year and the dwindling income from oil due to the low price of crude, we still continue to make the little we can including from all other non oil revenues sources.

I took the pain to explain this, may be there are some genuine people that may not know.
