RomanceRe: Nigerian Girls We Should Copy The Way French Women Eat by LaParisienne(f): 8:42pm On Jan 18, 2012
ArQueBusieR:
Who says French women don't eat fatty food?

The French diet is actually similar to the American diet - lot's of pastries, et cetera. But the French are healthier than the Americans. Why? They don't eat in a hurry: they take their time, and talk over meals. This improves metabolism.

Do your research!
Your post is misleading. From my first hand experience, french women are among the slimest in Europe. The french diet is nothing like the american diet. They drink coffee in tiny cups, their bread is very light, they eat a lot of veggies and they hardly eat junk food. They also excercise a lot by walking and cycling.

Do your research correctly!!!

@Newacca
Sorry abt your situation. Are you going for undergrad or postgrad studies?
If you are going for postgrad, why not try Germany? Free quality education as long as you can deposit 8000 euros for ur initial upkeep.

Just my 2 cents.

FamilyRe: "Family"- What Does This Word Mean To You? by LaParisienne(op): 6:14pm On Jan 13, 2012
I am not married yet. For me, family means: my parents,, my sister, my brothers, a few uncles, a few aunts and a handful of cousins. I had a tough relationship with my parents when I was growing up for some reasons. But that's all in the past because they realised their mistakes and started showing us love, especially my mum. Although it came late, it's better than nothing.
My sister is my best friend, she understands me more than anyone else. My first brother is very intelligent, I love him dearly. My last brother is like my son, I was there when he was born and I love him more than anything in this world. I also have a wonderful uncle, he's more than a father to me. I always tell him that he's the best uncle ever.
These people are the most important people in my life. I miss them so much when I don't see them often and I communicate with them everyday.
Family"Family"- What Does This Word Mean To You? by LaParisienne(op): 5:53pm On Jan 13, 2012
As we just passed that "time of year", some of us felt excited; others became sad and a little bittersweet. Some lucky people had gorgeous Christmas celebrations with their loving families/loved ones and others opted to stay on their own.

Whether we like it or not, we often spend time during this time of year reflecting upon the relationships we have with our families/loved ones.

So, what does the word “family” mean to you? Not just during Christmas, but overall. How do you feel about your family?

-Are they loving and supportive?
-Do they measure up to your expectations and more?
-Are you disappointed with them?
-Is there something about your family that bothers you and you wish it would change?
-Is Nairaland your only family?
-What's your remedy for a better child/parent or sibling relationship?

Here’s your opportunity to let it all out and share your loving stories and/or grievances with the rest of us.

Was it a thread or a post because i can't see any thread started by you.
It was a thread, sometime in November last year. Maybe it was my PC connection. The issue was solved, I'll sure post another one if need arises. Thx
TravelRe: Travel Section Complaints Thread: Report To Moderators (SOS) by LaParisienne(f): 1:59pm On Jan 13, 2012
justwise:
The travel section is just for people who want to get genuine travel information, its difficult to trust anybody with just mobile phone number and free email address promising heaven and earth.

If you must start a thread about your business then make it genuine, give people enough information here, ''not call me or email me for more details'' and stick to one thread not opening multiple threads dealing with the same thing.
My first thread on Nairaland was in the Travel section. It contained no mobile number or email, I just needed an opinion. But after posting it, I couldn't find it. Can the modes pls tell me what really happened? Thanks

@lao
I'm very happy that you could find a way to overcome your issues. I'm so very happy that you didn't end it. This is coming from someone who's been deeply depressed before, I know how it feels. It's the love of God that saved my life, just like you.
Religion has it issues but it sure helps. Especially when someone is feeling depressed and suicidal. I decided to take my spirituality and my relationship with GOD to the next level. It's the best decision I've ever made. I now have peace, I'm thankful for everything, I'm happy and satisfied, I no longer feel depreesed.
It's good to know that no matter what we are going thru, GOD is always there for us. Prayers work like magic if you have faith and if your relationship with GOD is right. Keep doing what you are doing, and don't be too hard on urself.

If you still need friends, just let me know. I can be one.

^That is so sweet but I don't think I am old. I am just a tweenager charting the course of life with its ups and downs.
Oh my goodness. I was only joking when I said that, don't take it personal. Like you said, age is not maturity.
Need I say that your level of maturity is intriguing?
