maclatunji: Thank you, you can help as well. I am happy to think that this thread came ahead of the new wave of solidarity, unity and compassion that is flowing across Nigeria at the moment. There might be obstacles and constraints but we can all join hands to make the world a better place. I always try to help in my own way. But the world is changing, nothing is easy anymore. P.S: When I grow up, I'll like to be like you. |

drnoel: Guys I just heard a story some days ago about a guy dating this Uyo chick which his parents do not like. He is the first son of a family of 3 boys, has a Federal job and is based in Port Harcourt. He is comfortable, and is actually ready to settle down. Anyway, I am told that after his parents gave the Ultimatum for him to break-up with her, the guy actually tried to do so but then, something unusual happened. When the girlfriend come over for the weekend he tried break-up with her and they had a nasty fight after which she stormed out of the house. When she returned she tried to make-up with him so she prepared Ofe Nsala and pounded yam for him (so am told) which he ate cos its his best soup. She then gave him the nyashing of his life that night. The next morning, the guy told his parents that he is not interested in what they want to say. That he was marrying her,, which am told he did.
Guys what would be your take on this. Give your comments on the issue what ea it may be, @OP Be very careful of what you say abt Uyo girls. I'm warning you now |

Lobi: A friend of mine was dating a guy for more than two years,he has being playing her,has a serious girlfriend and just kept her as side track.she later found out and she broke up wit him and now she is dating his friend(they are not close friends) who just got out of a ten year off and on relationship (they obviously used each other as rebound). His gf broke up with him cause her dad sees no reason in his daugther who is a graduate dating a guy who is still in school and he already has plans to send her abroad to study for her masters. The ex gf came back wanting the bf she dumped and he was already in a relationship with my friend and the guy told his ex that he is already in a relationship with my friend and that her dad doesnt accept him so its better they stay as friends.@ first the girl kept on making statement like what will be will be,always paying the boy visits in school and being cold towards my friend but now she advices my friend when she is having problems with the guy and they are good friends(d friendship scares my friend bt she has to kip her enemies closer) the guy treats my friend nice and is even allowing her keep her virginity unlike her ex.my friends ex makes intimate advances towards my friend till tomorrow even when he knows she is dating his friend.she fears what if the guy graduates and gets a good job that his ex gf dad might accept him.should she continue dating her new guy and hould she remain friends with her ex
ps:her ex stays in the same town with her but goes to school in a diff place but she and her new guy go to the same school. All I'm seeing is ex, ex, ex, friend, friend, friend. Very bad writing skills. Ok so, your friend's ex treated her badly and also had someone else while with her. There is no point remaining friends with him cos friends don't treat each other badly. Let her move on already with her life and forget abt the ex. Sounds like a student, let her put more of her energy into her studies and worryless abt boys for now. |

This life is really amazing. If a lady says she wants to get married now, people will say she's desperate. If she isn't desperate, but praying and waiting for God's time while searching subtly, the very same people will call her all sorts of names. Yada yada yada yada yada |

pendo89: Happy new year.
There's too much advise around here I am left with no advise at all. Who is an unmarried lady? You know in some communities once a lady starts her menses shes ready for marriage. But in today's hectic world one needs to be level headed up there. How long that takes depends on the environment she lives in. I prefer a lady marrying and having kids early in life.To be sincere lateness is not my cup of tea. But then who am I to judge? Some old unmarried ladies seem happier than the young married ones. It all boils down to an individual. You wanna marry at 90 thats your biz,you wanna settle at 18 fine and good its still your biz.
Wheres uncle Orinkila by the way? If you got married in your teens and it worked for you, fine and good. But pls stops forcing it on everyone cos we are not all the same. Where I'm from, we don't celebrate teen marriages. I don't see anything wrong with a lady getting married between the age of 21-27. As for the older ladies, you don't knw why they are still single. Pls stop all the judgement, you are not GOD. |

Goldieluks: [color=#550000]The typical reason why some old girls are not yet married is because they use their own tongue to swear for themselves. How can a girl in her early 20ths be aiming to achieve a useless career first and put the marriage issue at the bottom list? Wth? As Nigerians we all are aware that it is our norms and values as women to get married and bare children. Fucck th Western tradition. Just cause you live in the western part of the world doesn't make you a complete western. Get married and pursue your career. Well, I'm one of those "girls in early 20s" you refered to. What I meant earlier was: I'll like to get married but I haven't met my husband yet. So while waiting for him, I'll keep improving myself so that I'll be an asset to our family. I don't want to be a liability to anyone. I want to have a life of my own so that I wont be too clingy and demanding. Truth is, I never really thought abt marriage untill now, because I always knew that it's not a child's play. One has to be ready for it emotionally, financially, and spiritually. There's no point bringing innocent children into this world without being matured enough to cater for them. Ok I've started praying to God for my husband. I knw he is also searching for me, we'll locate each other sooner than later |
