@Beaf:

Do me a favour Bro, and delete those pictures from this thread. Don't you think it is sickening to be posting stuff like that online? These are bodies of human being such as yourself and should not be disrespected or desecrated. There is nothing comical about the slaughter of fellow human beings. You may want to also delete any other such pictures on your hard drive. It is truly sickening.

So sad.
See how an otherwise intellectually stimulating thread turned tribalistic.

@Larez,
I read your initial post and I admired your creativity. Right now, I am very dissappointed. You have allowed some tribalist bring out the tribalist in you.
A little advice:
Look for a way to bring back your initial post.
Try as much as possible not to allow this thread turm into one of the numerous tribal battlegrounds.
Thanks for your trust and belief in me. However, you are indeed wrong about me being a tribalist. If you check my message history in my profile, you will be in full agreement with me about this. Now check these other guys who came here to disturb, and you will be convinced about their agenda. If you noticed in my posts, I was merely mocking them. Thanks anyway for caring.

@Sjeezy8

Lil Bro, you are beginning to worry me a little oh. Do not let the hatas plant the seed of hate in you too oh. This is how the devil works, so keep your purity of heart as a proper Lagosian. Do not be influenced by motor park thugs who grew up in the jungles eating human flesh.

@Nuzo

It's all good Bro. i can see that you are an enlightened Brotha. I enjoy your comic relief and obvious purity of thoughts. People like you are the true patriots of Nigeria. A couple of my most trusted Friends are actually from the East. This is coming from aperson who identifies real friendship as being limited to no more than 5 people. Keep up the spirit Bro, and God Bless.

Here is a question, and I am being sincere as I ask it. Looking at the closeup picture of Ibori, I just realized that he and the guy next to him are actually wearing 2 hats on top of each other. Does this signify something such as a double chieftaincy or something?

nuzo:
Take time to ask questions before you jump into a ridiculous conclusion.

Truth of the matter is that those clothes look western because the white men traded and resided in the N/delta more than any other part of west Africa starting from the times of slave trade; hence influencing their culture; dressing, names and language.

It might also interest you to know that even your buba, babariga or Isiagu are all borrowed from either the west or other African countries. So, the Europeans must have been laughing at you all these while.

The Hausa over flowing gown (babariga or parachute) was borrowed from Mali.

Bottom line is that wearing clothes has never been your culture. tongue
Nuzo, why na? If you look Yoruba historical statues from waaaay back, some dem wear clothes now. Why you dey yarn fibs like dis ohh?

No2Atheism:
to be frank i always find it weird wen the so called cultural clothes of some communities in the south south actually look like clothes with western design (hence why i sometimes wonder how that is possible even if so called african textile materials were used to design it). Or is it possible that
they were already making and wearing caps and shirts and loins clothes that look exactly like western made items or wat.

I frankly believe that someone from the south south ought to find a way to avoid wearing clothes like that as a form of cultural identity, because at the end of the day, Europeans would only end up laughing behind their backs cus the europeans know that such clothes were mostly given to those people during or before the slave trade.

Please people should stop yabbing each other in terms of culture and ethnicity its hope, each cultural group has its own advantages and disadvantages,
I am with you 100% on that. These tribalcentric people only amuse me, and sometimes I pick on them for laughs. However, I am still a Nationalist and believe that all men should be respected until they no longer deserve it. We should all learn to get along, especially since many of us are intermarried. Some of my first cousins are Kalabari from Rivers and I pick on them as well. all in jest of course. But on Nairaland, these Igbo boys sometimes take things too far. They are too engrossed in their envy of Yorubas while losing their souls in bids to degrade them. Anyone who feels the need to degrade another tribe must be quite dissatisfied with themselves and their backgrounds.

Babapupa,  you make me laugh so much oooo. But I beg, make we wave olive branch small. These people be our Brothers wey don miss road. Yoruba charitableness demands that we assist to rehabilitate them. Abeg, no vex, I know say na dem cause am for you to begin respond to them, but mek we begin show sey we dey bigger than mere tribal fights.

Here is a design prototype that I have done for Naija. You can contact me through my profile if you would like to see it built in the ND. BTW, I can create communitites like in the first satellite image in the ND.

Na mouth? These guys sha! So funny, Lagos declare independence! Una get de liver?

You're very very entertaining.
@Beaf

Why you dey get Beaf about Lasgidi now, wetin Lagos do you? Which other place for Naija we people fit live and no fear sey one day Omo Onile go chase dem commot? No be hospitality wey we Lagos people show una allow una fit prosper for we land? Instead mek you dey thank us, look kind insult una dey spill. We fit come una jungles begin spill this kind talk? Abi you think sey we be cowards? Mek I tell you something wey fit help you understand. Na sophistication and civilization cause us to be like that. But if you question our courage, we go surprise you. The gentleman wey you assume be mugu, you go come find out sey him don fight 2 wars for America dey lead troops into battle.

Problem with Naija be sey everybody get too much mouth. Yankee no dey talk too much, but threaten am sey you go kill am and see if you go live see next day. Legal system for Yankee give everybody right to defend demself. You threaten, you deserve repercussion. Even court go free am, or just charge am with manslaughter. 2 years, dem go free am, but fool wey dey threaten don die.

We can have constant power in Nigeria. It just depends on what our leaders want. It doesnt cost much, considering our resources and our large chunk of foreign reserve wasting away.

With $10b we can have 20,000MW installed capacity within the next 4-5years.

Mark you we also need to Stop shipping our Natural Gas to foreign countries. MEND should bomb the LNG plant.
You must be really clueless to make such a suggestion. If Mend tried to bomb one of the NLNG Tankers that delivers gas to the USA, it will solve the Naija-Delta issues once and for all. I can assure you that at least 1/2 of the Naija/Delta will be obliterated. Look at it as the same as blowing up a small nuclear bomb.

He is infact right. Lagos State has started exporting crude Oil. Yinka Folawiyo is currently developing an Oil field off the Coast of Lagos, and have been flow testing their wells. What comes out of the wells definitely gets exported. So, the young Dude is technically accurate.

@Sjeezy8:

Don't worry, you are almost right, but Atlas Cove is a refined fuel storage terminal that handles imported refined products. However, Lagos has probably more oil that most of the other Oil producing states, but these guys have no clue about this. Once we declare independence, they will weep that they had the arrogance to talk like they did to us. Once we begin developing our Oil fields both inland and offshore, nobody will want to go to do business with the rest of the country that we left behind. We shall be OPEC free and will pump out more than 3 times what Nigeria's quota is per day with OPEC.

10 Kaduna State 10,334,763,785

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nigerian_states_by_GDP in 2007

keep lying  TO yourself you guys are feeding the north and the REST of NIGERIA
Why do you even continue to bother arguing with these guys? Look at the lazy guy who does nothing and when hungry robs or kidnaps, will sell his sister for cash or kill his brother for ritual for cash. He has the odacity to claim that ND feeds Lagos.

These people because of their deep rooted inadequacies live their lives in a deluded state of self imposed competition with Yoruba. Because they know that they were wearing loin clothes when Yorubas had highly sophisticated communities and farms that spanned as far as the eyes could see. We should pity them and try to pamper them to feel better. Yorubas are very understanding, and will attempt to lift up people who did not even have traditional clothes until the Yoruba came to show them that grown up men should be covered, and gave them clothes to wear.

Yorubas with their rich culture need to be seriously cautioned. Stop yabbing these people about their comical clothes which consists of the used worn out Oyimbo shirt and the yoruba wrapper given to them as charity gifts from yoruba. Oh yes, and to top it up, they also wear Oyimbo hats and put feathers on them as well. Bad Yoruba people have concluded that these people were indeed savages before Oyinbo came to their villages. This is not right, and Yoruba people should stop. lol

All this "oyel" that they toiled and planted into the ground must be preserved in their towns and stored refined and used to cook Isewu and periwinkle soup. With the amount of work that they exerted to make the "oyel" germinate, must be rewarded, and the rest of Nigeria needs to bow to them.

Meanwhile the Yorubas/Benins got angry and went to plant their own "oyel" too. But the Yorubas wait patiently while their harvest ripens and watches the "oyel" people swell up with their pomposity. Very soon Yorubas get tired of it and decide to listen more attentively to Becomerich and his nuances. Suddenly, Lagos declares independence and Western Nigeria says "wait a minute, we are going with you". Lines get drawn and a future great nation is formed which suddenly announces Oil reserves of over 80 Billion barrels.

The story continues into everlasting as other large precious mineral deposits are located all over Yorubaland and the wealth pours in. Yorubaland then decides to pay each and everyone of it's citizens a minimum stipend of $45,000.00 per year, with full medical and social insurances, and also begins to import workers from China and Malaysia to provide labour services for it's citizens. Not being part of Nigeria, Yorubaland decides to stay out of the cartel known as OPEC because of the Arab agenda which is bent on stifling the Negro race. Suddenly, Citizens of Yorubaland become favourites for Visa offers from the West, and get treated on a higher level than Kuwaitis.

The atmosphere that should be created.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Niger Delta: Constructive Ideas On Developmental Projects For The Region by larez(m): 7:36pm On Aug 25, 2009
Here's your first free piece of advice. Do not build concrete jungles like in Lagos. Build communities of Townhomes with a lot of common use green spaces trapped by the arrangement of the Townhouses. This will help bring your community closer.

Do not use the concept of plots for single homes, but look at subdivisions with lots instead. Lots should be sized at least 1/4-1/3 an acre with a mac of 70% impervious leaving the rest as green space.

Planning/Developing cities take a lot of foresight and I will suggest that you seek reputable international experience to steer you. Here are some pictures to give you ideas

Nairaland GeneralRe: I Need Your Advice by larez(m): 7:11pm On Aug 25, 2009
It all depends on the range of your investment. You should mention what kind of money that you have to invest in your biz first, and advise will follow. Goodluck.

You are a nobody who hides behind the anonymity of the internet. Sounds like you are describing yourself. Everyday is for the thief, and one day will be the owner's. People on Nairaland not only know me and have my telephone numbers, but they also call me and meet with me. If you shout my name out of the window, someone will be ready to bring you to me. And here comes the tribalists who find nothing good about Nigeria but migrate away from their hometowns to degrade places of civilization. Y'all can hate all you want, but Lagosians are becoming galvanized on a single purpose of redeeming what they knew and lived. This will be a Legacy to their future generations.

Bushman come Lagos, learn Yoruba and begin think sey him don land. hatas should migrate back home. Maybe we should add a filter to threads like this limiting it to bonafide Lagosians

I am truly sick and tired of these folks coming to lagos to mess it up while still having nothing good to say about it. If Lagosians went to their villages and made this kind of noise, they will instantly become kidnap victims with a ransome of N10m on their heads. why does the Nigerian atmosphere allow so much jealousy and bad belle? Wow!!
