Brother, forget the when they go law school or NYSC camp talk. When you're good academically you're good. The only edge they have is the best learning materials made available to them. Good internet, books, and lecturers that must come to class to teach cos that's why you're getting paid. So tell me why you won't perform well when all the needed materials are made available. Most of the lectures come from Fed Unis sef.

In my personal experience living in both low and high paying states, I saved more being in a high paying state with the supposedly higher cost of living. The things they look at to judge how they should pay folks are things like cost of houses, milk and gas. That’s what determines cost of living estimates.

But you end up spending almost same in departmental stores like Costco, Walmart etc where you buy your daily needs. It doesn’t even out to be the same in the end because you may pay $1000-$2000/month more in rent but you’re making $4-5k more. Which one is better then?

Anyway I feel like I made my point which is that

1) most immigrants are not doing 2-3 jobs scraping to survive like they love to believe on NL.

2) that my initial post wasn’t suspicious. It’s a real pay.

3) that someone making the amount of money stated in the OP can leave if they want and it won’t be a financial mistake because they can make up for it.

I really don’t want to argue the other points. If they even make $40-$50 per hour, it’s still very very very decent pay and is worth leaving the country for. Especially if they are a working couple and they can both make $35-$40/hr each. That’s $145k-$166k/yr of household income. It’s nothing to be broke about.

That being said there are other high paying jobs that are not in healthcare.
I think we can agree that a couple making $35/hr each with both of them working are making a good salary. I hope you agree

What's wrong abt those professions? Oh! See ur mentality. U think these people who do these jobs are hopeless and useless and have no future, lol. Atleast, it's legit and better than stealing, robbing, scamming and money ritual. I know a carpentar who is doing well and living fine with his carpentary job. And i also know a lady who is an hairdresser. Her husband currently is not working because he lost his job. She is the one catering for the home with her hairdressing job.

Don't mind them brother. We really need more of vocational and technical education in Nigeria at the moment. During COVID-19 lockdown, had to enroll in shoe making, you need to see how busy the guy was, even with about 20 apprentice, there'll always be delay meeting up with deadlines. He makes money everyday, lives in his house, make sense 3bedroom apartment, all rooms with POP and so on, the wife sells shoe making materials so the money stays within the family, that's a guy less than 35years. My eyes were open honestly. These skills we overlook are money spinning ventures oo

Find your way around it and get the certificate. What if a juicy FG appointment comes your way before clocking 30 and the NYSC certificate isn't ready ?
Getting married isn't even an excuse not to partake in the scheme. It's only an added advantage because you'd be redeployed to your husband state of residence and posted to an LGA closer to your hubby's office. You're not even expected to sleep in the camp as a married woman. Get to camp early, get your registration done asap and you're free to go home. My wife is currently serving in same organisation with me but different department and we never influenced it 1bit....
