Let me introduce my self : A Graduate from UNIBEN, searching for work after graduation from Lagos to Abuja, spent over 2 years submitting CV. Even tried PH,had to give up.
I recently opened this username for reason, let's leave this story for another day.

I am a seasoned YouTuber for years where I make videos and all sort, earning month to month doing reviews and the rest.

But in the past 2 years and few months I have dived into blogging to test the ground and i must tell you blogging is not dead.
It depends on your approach, there are over 3.5 searches done on Google on daily basis and it's increasing day by day.

I was recently paid few days ago and below is my earnings from a blog.

When you mentioned blogging or blog what comes to the mind of most Nigerians is Linda ikeji the celebrity blogger who just occupies a tiny space or niche , I always refer her as a gossip blogger.
Blogging is far More than that. blogging is broad, from medical, tech, finance, fitness which are broad niche to micro or sub niche like dating, fishing, sewing, swimming, recipes, parenting, cars, motorbike, wine, bear etc. I could list over 200 sub niches.

Blogging has come to stay and it goes beyond gist or gossip which linda ikeji popularise.
I earned close to 2m plus this month.

Yes blogging takes patience, a blog should pick up from the 7th month , if everything is done right by the blogger then traffic should be coming in from 7th to 8th month as at the time of writing this post then the peak period should be 24 months.




Most successful blogger are on nairaland and I have contact with a few who i connected with to share some ideas though some choose to comment on thread and shy away from discussion on earnings etc.
There is a guy here whose sitz makes 4000 USD daily.



Linda ikeji blog is not dry in fact she makes millions of naira in a single day from adsense. I can't say how much she earns but believe me she got an insane traffic that can guarantee more than 15,000 USD a single day.. Believe me she might make more than this. Most of her readers are Nigerians in diaspora who wants to know gist back home.

I got to know that via some tools, which shows that more people a from abroad gets news from there.



Nigerians are not lazy, Nigerians are great people with best brain only the society and our leaders are making us look dumb.

I know a Nigerian that makes 25k to 30k USD monthly on apps from play store.

You should understand that a sole aim of going into business is not to laugh.. See I don't blog for passion rather for money. That's it




Blogging is saturated.
There is room for everyone. Believe me. Blogging at the moment is not saturated. In fact Google once made it clear that over 30% of search quarries are something that haven't been searched before and over 3.5 billion searches are done daily.


The key here is identifying those searches and picking the ones that are not talk about on any site or few sites. Avoid the most competitive ones as a starter.



To earn high, don't target Nigerians as advertisers in Nigeria are not willing to pay as high when compare with USA, UK, Australia, Canada, etc.
If you get 2 thousand page views daily you can get approximately the payment paid up there.


Picking your fight at the weakest point is your chances of success. Finally Avoid copy and paste

There are hundreds of thousands of blogs in Nigeria. Most rarely have even one single comment at the end of the article. When i stumble on them, I usually wonder if the owner is breaking even or meeting his expectations, or even seeing any tangible money.

I would like to know if blogs can generate >50k a month. Or how long it would take to do that, and the necessary things to put in place to achieve that before I venture into it.

Long Story....

Last week Monday, around 3AM in the morning, its was an emergency situation for me. I had to put on the gen, called a friend in the other room to bring in his system for me to use. I was running a server debug on my own system and repatching some program on his own, connected one of the system to 60-Inch LG TV for better viewing.

After an hour, when i was still on it, someone was knocking on my door, it's a selfcon, (School Area and I'm not a student) i told the person to come in. It was a lady, imagine around 4AM, she asked, if she could charge her phone. I told her "she is free, she did and she left."(really not looking)

After few minutes(almost done with the server debugging), i heard someone knocking, i told the person to come in. It was a different lady again, she asked, if she could charge her phone.

I told her "she is free" while on it, it was taking her time to leave. I asked if there is any issue with the extension socket, she said no but her charger. (still not looking)

I told her, "you can remove my phone and use the charger." she replied "thanks" Finally, i looked at her, she was uncomfortable. I told her to sit, relax and set the charger, it should work. She did, all was good, she left.

My friend came in and ask if all was good, i told him, almost. I was done around 5AM something with the issues, put off the gen around 7am.

Around 7am, the first lady came, unplug and she left, the second lady came around 8am, i had already unplug the phone and just gave it to her, she said thanks, i replied you are welcome and she left.

On last week tuesday, i saw her coming my way with her friend probably going to school. I immediately looked away. (I'm not the type that like greeting nor dress just to impress or show off... Just normal round neck, nothing special, Mark Zuckerberg life style.)

Opon all the odds, she greeted me, i replied "HI", i moved fast immediately (believe me she is too beautiful, but my brain only work for money this days)


Later in the noon, i was outside with my friend dicussing about Ubuntu 20.04, immediately, i saw her coming back, i looked away just to avoid her greeting, she greeted me again and she asked, if i was going to put on the gen later, i said yes. She gave me her phone to help her and even her passcode, she said, i should call so so number, when the phone is on, so she can come and do some assignment. (after she left, my friend said, you are in trouble already, i said how? He smiled )

I was angry inside but i collect it, she look sincere. Later, i put on the gen but i didnt unlock nor called. She came later for the phone and she asked why didnt i called. I told her "i forgot" she said thanks and she left.

On Wednesday, she came alone, i was alone outside my room. She asked, if all was good, i said yes. She said, she wanted to say thanks. I told her "You are welcome". She sat far but close to my room, she was busy pressing her phone and i was watching her nor said a word. But guys at my end keep greeting her, saying hi, all this... You should be familiar with how male student like to flirt.

She asked me, Do you even cooked? you only have one spoon, one plate and one cup. That almost crack me laughing but i didnt. I replied her, not really.

She asked several question, i asked none, i dont even know her name till now. Anytime she left, people here will be like she is beautiful, i should connect them with her.

TO CUT THE STORY SHORT, now she come to my side everyday even till today, she never ask about my relationship or maybe for money or what i do to earn a living. She always take permission before she enter my room or do something, She is acting like, i am her brother or boyfriend. If am busy, she will be like, do you need help with anything before she leave for studying. She was even trying to help pay for my fuel bill today and went ahead and bought the fuel.


I dont know her plan, what she is trying to gain or do.

Snake is easy, easy to play with. Scorpion is still a mystery to me till date. It was my school day, i got more than 30 of it in my room then and they never ever tried to bite me(Got scorpion stone sha), it was like that for 2 years, they died and increase untill i have to get rid of it because of my lady almost got bitten.

Sniper was not enough.

Cockroaches are the easiest. It's so easy to kill them. I punch them to death with my bare fist and I sort of enjoy doing that.

But funny enough and till date, still can't kill a cockroach or be in the same room with one (small or big) or looking at one for long. Infact one must leave for one else i will have to leave.

Even if it's 2:00am in the midnight without insecticide and found one, i will call for backup to kill it

When i got my admission then, into a Nigeria university. I was an architect of all craziness.
Thought it was going to be a competitive environment, It's was a race then, for all my mate, I want First Class x3 here and there. (I had to channel my craziness to a better project, that will enhance my life).

With all the first class, I'm yet to see the usefulness of it. One of them now(My mate that criticized me of my academy performance) using the same brain to Sell iTune card online on Whatsapp.

When i was learning programming language (OOP, Java) around 2011 then. They thought, i was not serious. Even my own father kick against it. He was like, this things make no sense, Goto school or learn a major skills.

In my mind, I was like its my life. I was crazy enough during those era. (He called me and told me, I have earned enough and i wouldn't need your money, Good luck with your life)

I felt so down but too stubborn. Even if i greet him then, He wouldn't replied. The house tired me. But for God so good, After a year of dedication, i got to work with Google (Google Trade) via Matomy Media (Israel) and (India). (For me to print and sign the Insertion Order agreement cost 6k, Nobody to turn to but my mom and God. My dad make sure to block it but still the woman tried her best and still gave me. He said, i was going to use the money to buy cloth hahahah)
