hahahahahahaha wereh protest on nairaland? you won't kill me with laughter grin grin

Chai!!! From what you read all you saw about the analogy above is me assuming you're from a particular region, you opened your own very eyes to see me using south westerners as an example and I've automatically assumed you're from a region yet you keep advising me to go back to school, what an irony. I just knew your brain would not comprehend that.

I should have left you when you said he should have compensated each local government with road because they voted for him, a man who wants a 2time governor to complete the entire roads in the state is not someone with sound reasoning.

I've just been wasting my time with this Slowpoke sha cry

Abeg e don do
You see, your remarks just confirmed that you left your brains behind on your pillow, when you decided to hit your keyboard. sad Each time, I ask you a question you refuse to answer it, and prefer to take refuge in banalities. Each time I offer you a piece of advice, you ignore it, and decide to behave like a comedian. Your actions are so pathetic. shocked

Go back and read y previous post again. Each of the local government areas in Ogun state, comprise of different communities. sad And each of those communities have several different roads. My advice was that Amosun could have opted to construct, repair or upgrade one road in each of the local government areas, in order to ensure that fairness, equal development and proper representation. This would help to spread government impact across all those areas, since he got votes from each of those local governments. undecided

Now, Amosun was not elected to govern only Abeokuta and Sagamu in Ogun state, was he? You have not been able to answer that question till date. You have also not been able to address any of the information provided to you as regarding taxes, in Ogun state. Now who really is the foo'l here, if not you? Let me repeat my advice to you: Go back to school. Your cluelessness is just too glaring. undecided

Oya lemme clear you up on the issue how Nigerians don't pay tax so you'll stop masturbating over it.

I own 2 business centers where the gorvenment demand between 2000 to 3000 naira annually as tax which is too small hence I don't count that as tax (as stores in countries like Canada don't pay $10 annually as tax) which is why an individual owns 10 cars here in Nigeria. We're suppose to pay tax on every purchase we make that is higher than a particular amount as it's done in advance countries but that can't be done here coz we're not a serious nation and we don't keep records. Hope that satisfies your urge grin

And where is my own ogun state suppose to start and end? In your sitting room? Lol
Oh and please remind me the last time you protested for the killings in the north. meaning a south westerner's Nigeria starts and end in the south west. I hope your brain has the capability to fathom the above analogy.

Bye and goodnight tongue
I have just shown you in black and white how much Ogun state made from tax for 2016 and 2017. undecided 72 billion naira, is not small money. Those taxes did not come from ghosts. sad But for people like you, no matter how many times the truth is displayed before you, you would refuse to accept it and continue to wallow in falsehood.

It is not my concern how many business centres you own. Nobody asked you for such details. sad If you do not pay your tax in Nigeria, you are a defaulter. You even had the guts to use Canada as an example, yet in Nigeria you are one of those who fail to file tax returns. and you are even trying to defend and justify your non-compliance, with the local tax laws. Can you see how crooked you are? huh

You think demand notice is the only tax you should pay? huh Can you see how clueless you sound? So you have not heard of PAYE, WHT, VAT etc? Go to the local tax office in Sagamu, to declare your assets and income, and pay the proper tax. VAIDS scheme is even available, to make it easier for you. You can also file tax returns online. Get a Tax Identification Number or TIN, and follow the proper process. Many self-employed people have done so, so you have no excuse.

Finally, this topic is about Ogun State so focus on that, and stop digressing like a rabbit. undecided If you want to know the last time I protested about killings in the North, then kindly check through all my posts on NL. You will see the details right there, on other threads.

Now stop whining, and go back to school to study what governance means. For the record, I never told you whether I was a Southerner or Northerner or Middle belter. So stop making unfounded assumptions. Assumption is the mother of all fvck ups.

I guess Buhari has built road in the whole 36states in Nigeria just as Obama built roads for the whole 50states in the USA.

Now I finally got your reasoning, you know nothing about governance, so let it go
I know nothing about governance? shocked huh See who is talking. And please again, I'm giving my kudos to him on road constructions in my area, and if you're unfortunate to fall in the less concentrated areas then the civil thing for you to do is leading a protest to his office in demand for your vote and tax right.
See the kind of myopic response you gave? huh So when an area votes a person into power as governor, and the roads in that area are dilapidated, he is NOT meant to fix it? So you see repairs of roads by a governor as a reward, instead of his civic duty which he is meant to perform, by virtue of his office? yes I don't work in a corporate organisation, I'm self employed and i speak for myself and my business terrain when i said Nigerians don't pay tax compared to how taxes are being paid in other countries.

I'm not justifying the corruption of our politicians on how they loot tax payers money but to say because you pay tax then the whole road in a state has to be constructed within 8years is unreasonable.

Is he constructing roads or not? Is Sagamu and Abeokuta roads the only ones he has constructed? What magic do you expect him to perform in road construction in a state that couldn't boast of a single durable road before his tenure. Do you want him to complete the road construction of the whole Ogun state in 8years?

Like I said, wait for your turn! I'm sure you'll rather wish he stops the current projects and come construct the ones in your front yard.

He has done well so far in road constructions in Ogun state in my humble opinion and if you don't like that you can hug a moving truck

#peace
Your post shows that your entire knowledge of Ogun State, is limited to Sagamu and Abeokuta. sad There are over 20 local government areas in Ogun state from Ewekoro, to Ifo, Ikpokia, Odogbolu, Ogun waterside, etc. Out of the 20 local govt areas, Amosun has only provided infrastructure in less than 5, and you feel he is an excellent performer? Is 5 out of 20 considered a pass mark, in your view? huh

Why are you people so satisfied with mediocrity in that axis? Like I asked you before: "Did people from other local govt areas NOT vote for Amosun in the last election? So why has he deprived them of good infrastructure?" You have stylishly dodged this question, and refused to answer it. If he decided to construct one major road in each local govt area, would it not make more sense, and ensure development is spread more evenly across the state?

Or in your own view, Ogun state begins and ends in Sagamu and Abeokuta? shocked

Now, if you are self-employed but do not pay taxes, then you are one of the people spoiling this country. sad Being self-employed does not give you an excuse, to avoid taxes. I know several self-employed people that pay taxes at all levels of their operation. From VAT on their inputs and finished products, to Withholding tax (WHT) on their services, as well as PAYE on their staff salaries, they do pay tax. So if you are one of the defaulters, do not judge others through your warped lens of non-compliance, please! sad Everyone is not the same.

Like I said before, the 4 trillion naira that FIRS collected as taxes last year, did not come from ghosts or spirits, o! shocked It came from fellow Nigerians, like you and I. undecided Go and check! In 2016, Ogun state government recorded the third highest internally generated revenue (IGR), among the 36 states, following after Lagos and Rivers State. Part of that IGR was generated from taxes. Those taxes were not paid by aliens or ghosts.....so stop generalising.

Ogun state government has been rated as the state with the third highest internally generated revenue (IGR), among the 36 states in 2016.

The state trails Lagos state which occupied the first position and Rivers state, in the second position.

Ogun state in 2016, recorded an improved IGR of N 72, 983, 120, 003:85k. The breakdown of the IGR include N24.2 billion from Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE), N1.8 billion from direct taxes, N364 million from road taxes, as well as, N6.43 billion from other taxes and N4, 218, 549, 061 from other revenue. http://www.rockcityfmradio.com/ogun-state-records-third-highest-igr-among-36-states-2016/

I did not insult you, I merely offered you some advice. sad The costs for diesel (including its' transportation) were all factored into the final sales price of diesel. And the final sales price of diesel was used in Ettu's analysis. Logistics & transportation are not paid separately by end users, in the oil industry. It is in-built into the final sales figure. That is why you pay 200 naira to 250 naira per litre, for diesel. No additional fee, applies! You are the one coming up with imaginary additional costs, that do not exist.

Oh, we do not pay tax in Nigeria? huh Then please tell us how Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) made 4 trillion naira from taxes, in 2017. Your response shows that you have never worked in a structured corporate organisation before, otherwise you would not repeat this falsehood. Every corporate sector worker pays PAYE to state govt, which is deducted directly from their salaries every month. Many people like me have valid tax clearance cards, to show for it. sad Then our organisations pay corporate income tax, education tax and all sorts. undecided So stop making ridiculous assertions, that portray you as clueless! In your view, I guess it was ghosts that paid FIRS that 4 trillion naira....

Do you know how much state govts and local govts make from the multiple taxes and levies they charge, all over the states? huh From signboard levy to PAYE, to environmental levy and other sorts of fees, they reap huge sums from the populace. But the sad thing is that it goes into private pockets of some of these officials. After Lagos state, Ogun state plays host to one of the highest number of industries. Tell us, what Amosun did with all the taxes he collected from them? Were those taxes meant to be spent on only a few communities in Ogun state?

It is people like you that give governors and elected officials a false sense of achievement. Since you feel that he did very well in Shagamu and Abeokuta, tell him to stay in Sagamu & Abeokuta, when the next election year comes round in 2019. He should not go to other local govt areas in Ogun state, to canvas for votes since he did NOTHING in their areas. Even within Agbara with all the industries there that pay all sorts of taxes, he has failed to fix their roads or improve their infrastructure. I don’t want other girls to make my past mistakesSunmbo Adeoye

Sunmbo: To so many people who did not know me, I was a club girl and baby mama. I challenged God to rewrite my story and He did because I was just a victim of circumstance. This is me who used to sing in Ebenezer Obey’s church. I was a spiritual daughter of one of his sons, Pastor Lanre Obey.

I used to lead praise sessions at Obasanjo’s chapel at Ota, Ogun State. Even when I worked with Intercontinental Bank Plc, I used to lead praise sessions. I knew I had the call of God on my life but unfortunately, I fell in love with someone and instead of me bringing the person into the light, I was dragged into something I never bargained for and I started having babies out of wedlock. I was only a victim of my emotions.

https://stargist.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Sunmbo-Adeoye.jpg

Ques: Many will argue that having a second baby is not circumstantial.

Sunmbo: That happened because we were in a relationship. I met Tuface when I was a student of Yaba College of Technology. I had just lost my dad and my mum was living in America. For someone who was a daddy’s girl, I needed love. This was the only person that was showing me love at that time. I feel I had that experience so that other young girls would not make the same mistake. I was 24 when I fell pregnant the first time.

When I got pregnant the first time, I approached the pastor of the church I was attending then and he brought me out before the church and judged me. I was asked to go and bring the father of my unborn child so we could be joined together. I brought a different person and we got married at the registry. Everything fell apart when I had a child who looked nothing like him and my mum came back from America to ask who gave my hand out in marriage because she was not a part of it. I had to walk out of the marriage which I arranged by myself. I moved back home and by age 25 I was already a single mum and a divorcee. There was so much shame and reproach.

It got to a point in my life that I felt that the Devil you know, is better than the angel you don’t know, so I went back to my baby daddy and his mum talked me into living with him, so he won’t have more women and babies. We lived together for three years, and that was how the second pregnancy happened.

It was not a bed of roses while I was there, because I was trying to put together what was not supposed to be. I think we broke up in 2009 after I had the second baby. There were other women who were also going to have babies for him around that time. I came to my senses like the prodigal son and I was so broken. I think my baby daddy was out of the country that fateful day when I returned from work and I packed all my things plus that of my children, and I went back to my parents’ home.

Exactly! I admire her ability to take stock of her life, and battle the odds to come out stronger on top. cheesy It is not easy to be a single mother of not just one, but two kids. Especially when the father of those two kids is nothing but a rambling casanova, that could not keep his trousers, zipped.

God turned her story around. She learnt from her mistakes and sought God's mercy. He then took her mess, and made a great message out of it. Now, she has moved on with her life. I admire the Pastor who married her. He must be a man of sound principles, deep compassion, open minded with great mental strength, and a heart full of love. I wish Sumbo the very best of every good thing, she desires from the Almighty. cool

As for Sophie Momodu that Davido's baby mama, I feel sorry for her. sad She has not learnt anything from her mistakes, and is unwilling to make progress with her life. Let her keep deceiving herself in one corner, waiting for Davido who is busy making waves with his latest catch - Chioma. Some women will never cease to amaze me with their cluelessness... shocked

I know all you have said but merely reporting the matter to police will teach them a lesson.

Even if the case will be settled out of court, they they will spend money to Lawyer/police and be rattled.

On a more serious note, I think it is best to forget about the family and move on with life.
Teach who a lesson? Are you talking about the same police that is quick to arrest whoever pays the highest amount of money at its station, first? It depends on the family sef. You cannot pull such stunts, with some families. They have relatives that are policemen, lawyers etc., who will take up the case, and they will not have to spend a penny in legal fees! cheesy
