The same EEDC, that is the problem we are having here in Umunna Nsulu of Abia state. You will be force to pay that huge amount but you won't see light. We are seeing the great change that APC has brought for us. Before now there used to be a steady power supply with low NEPA bill of #200 per month
You people are complaining about EEDC. Come to Lagos and see what kind of stunts EKEDC otherwise known as Eko Disco, is pulling in Lagos. Have you ever received an estimated bill of 65,000 naira in one month before, when you do not own or run a bakery, within your small house? shocked

This project is still at the same stage it was over 10 months ago. sad I ply this route everyday, so I know. The hype needs to stop, abeg. They have been singing this song of "almost completed' for over a year, meanwhile there is no additional progress on the status of works at the Marina end, and the TradeFair-Okokomaiko- Ojo-Expressway end. undecided

Omooba77:
Sir and you believe this lie; please tomorrow travel from Marina to Orile to First Gate to Okokomaiko and see for yourself.
munas:
Oga go and sit down....

Which one is almost complete?

The rail track has not passed mile 2 bridge and the road construction has stopped at Iyanaoba for 3 months now.
I ply that axis most times and we know what is on ground.
seborrhic:
Don't mind him.
That thing is just about 60% completed. Its not just laying of pillars and beams that is the main engineering work.Electrical and other structural works are yet to be started.
The most feasible date for completion of this project is 2020
inikamoze:
OP, take a drive from Marina to the Okokomaiko you wrote and come back here to give us situation report. Light rail line that has been covered with grass and stinking dirt from Alafia down to Mile 2 Oke ...abi is the train going to fly from Orile and Land in Okoko?

PoliticsRe: Sagay Rejects Calls For Adeosun’s Sack Over NYSC Certificate by LaudableXX: 12:14am On Aug 11, 2018
kutchs:
First things first.
1) I agree with you to the extent that the NYSC has not meet it's objectives which is a unfortunate rather. Should it be scrapped YES and NO reasons I won't be able to give here now.
There's something about law (positive law) particularly which perhaps you don't appreciate, once a law is promulgated bad or good it acquires a binding force on all to whom it applies. It remains so until it's repealed.

As much as you may say that the NYSC has become irrelevant, it must still be respected until such a time the FG through the NASS repealed the act establishing it.
NYSC certificate isn't ordinary because if it's she wouldn't have to forge it in the first place. Why do you have to take the pains of getting something that isn't of value? If the certificate isn't ordinary you wouldn't be required to present it before employment could be given to you.

Please I beg let us not ridicule national institutions because of our personal interests because the table might change tomorrow. If Mrs Adeosun forged the certificate as alleged, then it's wrong and nobody not least Prof Sagay should defend that. It's corruption and nothing else.

In my comment I don't see where I insulted a 'professor", I merely suggested he needs correction if he makes a dumb statement which is the case here.

Again, when we meet offline, you will know that I'm more than qualified to correct Prof Sagay.
People who say that NYSC has not met its objectives need to be more explicit and define which one of its' objectives, it failed to meet. undecided

There are many communities today in Nigeria, who would never have benefited from the services of a medical doctor or a teacher, if not for the NYSC scheme. sad There are too many community clinics in rural areas being run till today, by the NYSC doctors posted there every year.

Those communities & their people will forever remain grateful, for the NYSC scheme.

Oegbeyem1:
This is why this country will never ever ever move forward. You ask us to sacrifice one year of our lives, we do it and still can't get jobs but someone who forged a certificate, committed a crime by law and should not be employed by any organization in Nigeria should not be sacked. There is no law in Nigeria. Only for the poor.
Don't mind that silly joker. The next organisation that refuses to employ a graduate for failure to produce an NYSC certificate, should be sued, since their grand patron of forgery Kemi Adeosun got away scot free, without undergoing the programme. undecided

What Adeosun did was wrong but I don't support her being fired.
She's done a great job for this government and for Nigerians.
The penalty for forging NYSC certificate is N2000 fine which she should pay and move on.
And Buhari will take 6 months to replace her.
I support her being fired. angry It is not only bad that she failed to serve in the NYSC programme, but the worst part of it, is that she forged her exemption certificate. And she has failed to show any remorse, or apologise for her actions! shocked There is nothing fantastic, that she is doing on that seat. Let her leave. There are more qualified Nigerians, that can do a far better job.

In fact, her continued stay there, (in spite of her illegal actions) is a slap on the face of all those corpers, who went through hardship to serve their fatherland, under the NYSC programme. Some even lost their lives during the service year, while on active duty. undecided Is Adeosun more important than they are? Is her life, more valuable than theirs'?

That =N=2,000 penalty needs to be reviewed, and replaced with a clear-cut prison sentence. sad The NYSC law that mandates compulsory service for graduates under 30 years of age (at the time of graduation) is very clear. Adeosun wants to dance to the tune of Animal Farm (i.e. "all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others)". Her nonsense must not be allowed to stand. Rubbbish! angry

Much as I sympathize with the lady and all female rape victims, I'd like to point out that women in these modern times have been sooooo psychologically manipulated to feel and believe that rape and sexual harassment should make you feel worthless and frustrated and depressed. In fact should signal the end of your life and dignity. This is why many ladies take their lives afterwards.

So much that if a lady comes out from a rape encounter feeling and looking normal she's made to feel that she's a wh0re or she's doing something wrong.

Unfortunate Ladies and women that got raped in the olden and earlier years of this same earth, still lived their lives to the fullest without trauma or therapy.
Cut the crap. angry If you have ever seen or treated rape victims up close, you would not be reciting such rubbish. undecided Rape is a violation - an act of violence, that rips a woman's dignity, damages her psyche and reduces her self-worth, into shreds. For many victims, it is a life-shattering experience. A traumatic event that affects them to the core. People react differently, to terrifying encounters.

If a person has a physical wound, he can take a tablet and get healed, but a person with an emotional wound, cannot get relief or recover so easily, by merely taking a pill. undecided It takes time, counselling, mental therapy and a lot of help, for them to feel normal again. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is real, and not to be toyed with. It can lead people to develop suicidal tendencies. A sickness of the body is easy to treat, but an injury to the mind is the most difficult to handle. Without an appropriate support system, victims of rape can develop depression and suicidal tendencies, which could lead them to take their own lives. Be wise. sad

And stop peddling junk tales. How many "Unfortunate Ladies and women that got raped in the olden and earlier years of this same earth, still lived their lives to the fullest without trauma or therapy..." do you even know? huh List them.

You are the one saying crap. undecided Go to the Middle-Belt and the North, where polygamy is very common due to religious reasons, and see how many step-mothers have to accept their husband's children. There is NO woman who knows that a man had kids before his marriage, that will now tell him send those kids packing. What will be the woman's excuse? huh Afterall, she knew fully well, that he had other children before meeting her, and they were living inside his house with him. Truer words have never been said.

Most men don't have a problem with this issue but if it is the other way round the women won't want to set their eyes on the kid especially if the man is wealthy.

All these women berating the man on this thread are not normal. Instead of them to direct their grievances to the idiot who rejected his own blood they're blaming the OP.

A typical African woman can't condole what men condole every day in the family.
Which truer words? shocked If a man has children outside wedlock before he got married, and he is upfront about it during courtship, most women would accept the child. In fact, a wise man would wait to see how his kids interact with his new babe, before he proposes marriage to her. wink

The only time most women have a problem accepting a man's kids, is if he goes outside to play an away match after they are married, and that affair resulted in a child, whose existence he concealed from his wife, despite the fact that they both stay under the same roof! angry By the time the wife eventually finds out and the shiit hits the fan, trust me - she would refuse to let the man's away kids into her house out of anger, simply because he cheated on her. sad

Women who grew up in polygamous homes, (or in a muslim setting however), seem to be able to cope better with such things. sad In the North, a lot of women will accept a man's kids who were born, before they got married to such a man.

Please if you love your wife truly you will love and take her daughter. I already had a daughter when I met my husband, he won my heart the moment he told me he wants to marry me and be a father to my daughter and whatever God provide for him he will take care of me and my daughter, my mother insisted I leave m6 daughter with her but my husband said no way, my daughter moved in with us the next day after our wedding. She was 5 yrs old. Fast forward to now 21 yrs later, he is the best dad I can ever wish for, my daughter loves him to bits, she confides in him more than myself, she loved him more than her biological father who is even nowhere to be found, We did not have a child of our own unfortunately but he always insisted my daughter, is enough for him, My husband is one in a million, a good man. So Man up and take the child in if you really love your wife . A child should be with her mum. Your family cannot live your life for you. My husbands family said lots of things especially my mother in law, called my husband nanny and child minder, but my husband ignores all of them. Today my daughter is the one taking care of his needs , if you don’t know us from beginning you won’t belief he is not her biological father. What you are basically saying is he has no choice but to accept the child so he won't loose the mom, the op feels cheated, while the grils real dad is busy enjoying his night life, the op is like working twice as hard to take care of another man's responsibilities. which at the end of the day might abandoned him for her real dad.

Like I said earlier, if it's me & the girl has no "one" to take care of her & am financially sound I will accept her, not because of some unknown future blessings, but because I CAN & won't expect anything from her in the future
No, that is not what I am saying. sad All I am saying, is that he should acknowledge that the girl's biological mother also has responsibilities towards her own child, and should allow her to take care of those responsibilities.

If he does not want to pay for the child's upkeep, no problem. sad The mother should do so, or the girl's birth father should send money to cover her needs. All he has to do, is simply give the girl a roof over her head, and treat her with polite courtesy. undecided This girl is just 7 years old. In another 3 years, she will be in boarding school like someone pointed out. And afterwards, she goes to university. So how long will he have to give her ordinary accommodation?
