I appreciate your suggestion, but it may not work. One needs physical damage before people can be moved to help. Ordinary beggars can come up with a story like this anytime to garner fortunes.

Let me just hope some suggestions about habits change, black seed, bitters will work.
Sorry to ask, are you a Christian? The reason I ask, is that some churches run medical clinics for their members, and can even contact their other members who are doctors, to handle your case. Some of them conduct medical outreaches too. Please talk to your pastor or church administrator. They might be able to help. Cheers. sad

Agreed, but honestly, there will have to be tough decisions that need to be made. Including deporting many (maybe not all) of those that are not yoruba, even if they're perfectly law abiding. This is a decision that needs to be made in the beginning. I don't think you understand the amount of non yoruba residents in the southwest. We don't want another Nigeria situation. Our forefathers failed to steer us away from this path in Nigeria, knowing this fact, we must do what is necessary to ensure without a shadow of a doubt that the nation remains an unquestionably yoruba nation for decades to come. To do this we must make these tough choices to prevent future generations from having to deal with more difficult situations in a multi ethnic society, similar to what we're dealing with now.
Hmmn.... with all due respect, would this measure not be too drastic? shocked There are people from minority groups like myself, who have lived, worked and studied in the SW region for years. I even know a few people who are not Yoruba, but are so assimilated into the Yoruba culture, that they are even alienated from their own paternal culture. Some of their maternal grandparents can trace their origins to border towns within the SW region. Would they be deported too? huh This needs a lot of careful thought & consideration... undecided

We have 36 states. Logic and common sense even lets us know that not all of them can be bad. A good number will be bad, some will be good. Experience since 1999 has shown this. The beautiful part of all these is that once a state catches the development fever, many others will catch up as they don't want to be left behind. That is how American states began until they all developed and that is how European countries also developed. In Naija, Lagos and Cross-rivers began all these security, IGR,comparative advantage shit that many serious states are trying to emulate now. That is how the fever spreads. Nigeria is becoming increasingly left with a choice; fail together or develop at your own pace. I go with develop at your own pace because Naija is not equal in xteristics to begin with.

Maduawuchukwu:
The restructuring people are canvassing for is totally about the devolution of powers both politically and economically; if you give a person more funds you will also give him more duties. This clamour is based on the belief that the FG has been unable to utilize and exploit the powers that it bestowed on itself (like the control of solid minerals, ports, electricity etc) due to many factors and that this failure has resulted in the economic failure of Nigeria and the rise of restiveness. For Nigeria to fully utilize her potentials, we need to give the states some of these duties and powers with the tested belief that they will perfom better due to their trimmed nature, closeness to the people and high level of homogeinity.
To test this thesis we should consider the perfomance of the FG and the states in areas of shared responsibility such as roads. While the FG is finding it difficult to perfom common maintenance of FG roads like the Apapa port road, Lagos state and other states are building new roads which promote their economic growth. We can also see this in the security sector where the FG which maintains maximum control of security has all but ceded some security duties to the state in areas such as the provision of logistical equipments like Vehicles and the states have perfomed excellently in this regard. We no more see the rickety vehicles police used to use on our roads again in the period when the FG was the only body providing vehicles.
I can go on and on, but all indices point to the fact that the Nigerian economy would be better exploited under greater state control.
May you live long! cheesy I feel like dashing you 1,000 likes for this post! wink But those states need to be governed by people of vision, purpose, accountability and intelligence, with a passion for performance.

We can see what Fashola and his successor Ambode did in Lagos, as well as what Donald Duke former Governor of Cross River and Godswill Akpabio former Governor of Akwa Ibom, did for their respective states. If visionless, corrupt, clueless individuals are left at the helm of affairs in the states, then all the devolution of powers both politically and economically, would be wasted!! angry

Health › Re: No End In Sight To My Medical Problems; I Might Be Dying Slowly by laudate: 5:23pm On Jul 02, 2017
CrescentMoon:
The first time I became aware of me falling sick was in 2007. I was 26 at the time. Since then it has been a myriad of medical troubles.

It has been cycles of malaria, bacterial infections, disc problems and headache. Every night, I take drugs before I could be able to sleep. I always have antimalarials, antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants handy. If malaria symptoms occur, I would take antimalarials and there would be improvement within minutes. And would then complete the dosage in 3 days. By fourth day, symptoms of bacteria infection would occur; I would take ciprofloxacin and get relieved within minutes. Once I complete the dosage, headache would strike, and once aspirin is taken, I get well. But I would keep repeating aspirin every night until gastric ulceration sets in. I would then buy omeprasole and cimetidine to treat ulcer. While ulcer treatment is ongoing, malaria would strike again, and I would take antimalarials. If antimalarials don't work, I would know that the symptoms are bacterial and take antibiotic. If there is no relief, I would combine antimalarials and antibiotic and there would be a relief. It has been like this since 2007. I don't go to hospital again because I have grown to know these symptoms and what doctors would prescribe.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been battling 'herniated disc' problem in my lower back. It started the day I bent down suddenly and I heard a snapping sound at my back bone. I started using norflex, calcium supplement and diclofenac. I feel mild relief because I can't stop my daily hustle to rest while the disc heals. If I dont work in a day, I won't eat or pay bills.

Note that I undergo HIV test almost weekly.

How do the poor tackle medical problems in this hellhole of a country?

Lalasticlala, please help me move this to fp.
Bros, most inexplicable ailments that keep recurring or defy medical solutions, usually have spiritual origins. Na God I take beg you, go to a Bible-believing pentecostal church like MFM, RCCG etc., and ask the pastors to pray seriously for you. You will be amazed, at the result. wink

Then visit the right hospital and see a good doctor, who will advise you on the necessary tests to be conducted. Once the results are received, he would know the right medications to prescribe for your condition. You cannot be suffering from typhoid or malaria every week. Having feverish feelings & headache, is not always a sign of typhoid or malaria. So stop the self-medication. It could be another infection, which is yet to be diagnosed in your body. sad

Finally, take a look at your source of drinking water & kind of food you eat. Not all the water sold inside pure water sachets, are fit for consumption. Polluted drinking water or contaminated food, can always cause infections in the body. Make sure your room is also well ventilated and fumigated. Poor ventilation could lead to accumulated heat on the skin, and poor circulation of air, could even make you fall sick. undecided

May God heal you speedily, in Jesus name. wink

I was a guest on nairaland for so many years, my abode then was the culture and politics section. But later i noticed some monikers were no more contributing.. I didn't quite understand until recently when laudate addressed the issue, he said many complained about the mods not being fair.

The thread that was deleted was so important that i had to call the attention of my friends that were not on nairaland to it... For God's sake that was a thread were people contributed intelligently without insulting minority tribes.. Infact we had meaningful contributions from people from other tribes. People like Efewestern and yungmilli contributed, and for once i was able to understand the itsekiri's angle to an oduduwa nation..

What's nairaland's priority? Do you want threads were people will contribute and parents will tell their children to visit the thread and learn more about their region, tribe? Or you want threads were we keep insulting the hell out of each other?

Today, Many people are tribalists on nairaland not because they wanted to but because the mods didn't do their job in the first place. There was no level playing ground, this disgusted me a lot, Of course many of us couldn't have sat down and allow some mor.ns insult the hell out of our tribe in which many of us hold dearly.

This is the Internet, if we keep replying hatred with love, war with peace, insults with moral talks, many years from now, our children will be left ashamed of their fathers and mothers when they later come across threads were igbos were abusing their tribes or telling lies and their fathers couldn't refute anything. . .Our fathers instilled cultural and ethnic pride in us but it's a pity that today Many yorubas don't have pride, our fathers dream was for an independent country and not the one Nigeria nonsense people like sarrki preach all about.. Our fathers wanted development and unity of the yoruba race... You are first a yoruba man before being a Nigerian.

Seun needs to redefine the vision and mission of nairaland.. if you want a nairaland where numerous threads about Nnamdi kanu forming Slay Queen upandan are gracing the front page or threads were people of thoughts discuss the future of their tribe and development.

Do you want a nairaland where we continue shouting Igbo and afonja without making meaningful contributions?

Do you want a nairaland where half of all topics on the politics section is about Biafra, igbos whereas topics that tends to form ethnic consciousness devoid of hatred are being deleted?

Do you want threads of people that ought to be in the shadows but trending on nairaland over gucci?

and where did you see the ipob threatening and insulting people? is it the ipob that are threatening the Igbos with war and bloodshed? is it the ipob that gave the Igbos in the North a quit notice? or is it the ipob that label all the Igbos Igbos, OSU and Igbos?
when NK was addressing some Northerners during one of his many court appearance did you see him insult them?

it doesn't matter if you agree to what I am saying or not, fact is fact.
I really laugh at you people sha... I really do. you can keep talking bad about the ipob people all to the delight of those people, but when the chips are down everyone will answer his/her Papa name. You can ask the Azikiwes, the Ironsis the saro wiwas how far.

I'm not ipob but I never talk ill of them because they're Igbos. I mind you, at least more than 90%of Igbos want to go there way.
Are you ok? shocked Who is peddling lies? Please go back and read factual accounts of the civil war, and you would see people within the Biafran enclave, who opposed Biafran ideology or their commanders, being jailed or executed. They were labelled as saboteurs. It was a well-known fact. Do you want rewrite history or change it? sad

As for FFK and Fayose supporting Tinubu, do you want to tell me that their support for the man was not seasonal? shocked When FFK was still PDP spokesman, you want to lie, that you did not see him insulting Tinubu, not once but many times? huh Who let the cat out of the bag that APC was planning a joint Muslim/Muslim ticket? Wasn't it FFK, at that time? Even today, as I speak to you, has FFK & Fayose's support for Tinubu, not ended?

Oga, it will take a long time for you to understand how the Yorubas play their politics without bitterness, in this present dispensation!! sad All the Yorubas in PDP during the last election, did you see any of them following Tinubu while it lasted? shocked Did Bode George & Obanikoro not oppose him repeatedly? When it was over, how many decamped to the APC to join Tinubu? Even when Saraki's problems started, it was attributed to Tinubu, because they felt Saraki got the Senate presidency through the back door, and the Yoruba supporters of APC & Tinubu led by Gbajabiamila, were determined to fight him to a standstill, because he was not their candidate! angry So what are you saying? shocked

But in all their battles and encounters, there was some degree of mutual respect. Even when their media skirmishes were going on, emissaries were being sent to both sides, to clarify and explain their various positions, and try to broker peace. undecided Compare this approach with the one used by IPOB that tries to denigrate, insult and attack all those who do not share their ideologies. I have lived in Lagos for many years, and know several of these SW people and seen how these things work. sad

Another thing you and your IPOB members do is that you thrive on assumptions. shocked And assumptions are the mother of all fvck ups. I have never told you that I am Igbo, yet you came out with your guns blazing ready to launch a full-scale attack, simply because I disagreed with your IPOBian views.

Is this how your Biafran republic would run, once it is born? shocked With no room for opposing views or dissent? huh As they say, morning shows the day, and from the little I can see - if the approach & attitude of your IPOB members do not kill your dream for a new republic, your intolerance for opposing views will certainly sound a death knell to its growth! End of story! angry

Finally, I have seen IPOB insulting others. sad What do you think Radio Biafra has been doing? huh What was Nnamdi Kanu saying about Nigeria and other ethnic groups, before he was picked and sent to Kuje? Oh, you did not see the insults and hate speech he was peddling? What did he say about Igbo women? Ok, try and google it. The internet never forgets, even when people like you pretend not to remember....

Let me leave you with this;
AmuDimpka:
•.It is important to note that the people of the South West were not over-excited about the re-emergence of Obasanjo. As a matter of fact, they became his most ardent opponents. In anger, Obasanjo turned his war against Yoruba leaders like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Lagos State was deprived of its statutory allocations, even after the Supreme Court ruled in its favour. Interestingly, the current Acting President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, was the Lagos State Attorney General that fought spiritedly against the Federal Government at the time. The lesson I wish to draw from this is that, sometimes, it is better, and safer, to fight a battle of wits than a duel of brawn. The use of force can never guarantee a meaningful victorious end. https://etimes.com.ng/exactly-restructuring-dele-momodu/
