@ fatherof2

asper diamond? do u see the price rallying higher than it has?
your analysis on oceanic was spot on. u suggested one sold at the end of the week the price started crashing. i actually sold on the wednesday that week at a little over N39.
when do you think one should exit diamond? my money is still stock in wema and i no wan spreadshit money. na real money i want.

response awaited.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 2:02pm On Jan 11, 2008
@pumping/easi/wanajo

why has AP gained over 5% today?

is oceanic price not reasonable to enter now? lost some 25% straight.
if it goes as low as 25, very teasing innit!

WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO TRANSCORP NOW?

all sentiments aside, do you guy think it can go much lower? i mean line 2.5?
that will be some 60% loss from the PO price.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 7:30am On Jan 10, 2008
@wanajo
thanks for d reply.
following the trend of buying and selling on thur/fri, if i am lucky, i could get wapco at about 65 if i place an order for a buy tommorow provided it doesnt u-turn today. in that case, i will buy enough units to average my price to just about 70 +/- 2.5
that way it may not be so bad afterall.
the question u did not answer is this;

do u think it call fall to 60? just need a second opinion b4 i finalise my strategy.

if wapco will ever reach 100, apart from the bonus rumour,

what do u think will drive it there?
when do they normally release thier results?
what result is due and when?
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 5:40am On Jan 10, 2008
@fatherof2 and wanajo

I bought wapco last week at 80 and since then i have lost 11%. i dont mind buying more units now at the present price (70.8 +/- 5%) to lower my average cost.

do you think the price can go much lower than this? if u are planning to buy, what is the lowerst price you think it can get to. i smell an Ap kind of trend here (in the sense that it attacked, retreated and then ATTTACKED!!!)
NOTE: THIS IS JUST A HUNCH AND NOT BASED ON ANY ANALYSIS B4 SM1 SAYS I SAID SOMETHIN

@PUMPING AND EASIMONI
if u have 1mil now and u are looking at reasonablereasonable as in 20% or worst case scenario evens after charges profit in the first quater, what would u put it on?
i did think wapco but i no even kno self with the price drop.

@aktopgun
thanks for the tutorials.
any chance u can tell where to get the values for the different factors required for the calculations.
the likes of quarter earning, outstanding shares, earning per shares , etc.

if it is all in the prospectus, where can i get it?

I dont think the gurus are bothered about fidelity because no one answers any questions asper FIDELITY.

If u have a slow internet connection, when u enter the code, the page reloads asking u to enter another code.
i am quite sure it works in most cafes.

Pls can you do an analysis on Fidelity? No one really says much about it here.
do u have any idea when they will return to the market?
also why has the price been marked down? someone said it is because of bonuses. where does one get information as to if a company will be giving bonuses or not? i know it gets rumoured around initialy.

Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 12:53pm On Nov 28, 2007
pardon me o! grin but this fatherof2 man i dont know. for some weird reason, he was talking about buying uba on thurs/fri and lo and behold, they have shed almost N4 in the past 2 days. if this continues, then one can enter uba by monday at about N50 and begin siddon look.

does any one have any counter ideas to this? or an explanation for the price drop?

I wont say u should move on. i am sure u dont want to move on. this love is a very complicated thing.
does he still call
does he come to c u or blames it on work
has he ever bought u stuff with his salary
ow long has he got this job
ow long have u guys been together?

i dont want u to leave him just like that. u can show in ur actions that u wanna leave but leave the back door open in case he comes begging. we may not know what we have until it dawns on us that we may be losing it.
what is the guarantee that the next guy wont be worse? lets make the best of what is in our reach before we dwell into the unknowm.
Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 5:04pm On Nov 26, 2007
Fair values for UBA and Oceanic post announcement of Fullyear results are N67 and N36

@fatherof2

roughly when will the announcements will be made?
i aminvolved in a similar scenario but i am just helping my friend manage his money. i want a very active portfolio, buying and getting rid of stocks in a 3 month window frame. i know things dont always go as predicted so, combining 3 low risk with 1 high risk stock should keep the portfolio above water in worst case scenarios.
what stocks fit into the sure average gain (2 - 3) and the gambled high gain (1 - 2).
wanajo, easimoni, pumping and d gurus. ur input will be appreciated

3 MONTHS WINDOW FRAME. 6 MAX cool

Romance / Re: Did I Steal My Friend's Girlfriend? by lawalidowu(m): 8:40am On Nov 21, 2007
I as an individual dont like d idea of my friends girl or ex or my friend and my ex or toastee. it is just not ok. if u guys met on ur own and then realised there is some past with ur friend, then it is understandable. but u met her thru ur friend and so the idea of getting with her really should not have run thru ur head (i dont believe u later fell for her. we guys tend to know from d start; it is d girls that do the falling).
so my point is; to ensure good relationships, let our partners be from outside our circle.
plus ur friend said he slept with her. are u comfortable with that? i will take his words over hers (better settling with worst case scenario). is he ur friend or someone u kno? there is a difference
so my guy! i no kno o! just tread carefully. tongue

Investment / Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by lawalidowu(m): 3:42pm On Nov 19, 2007
This out stock market self na wa o! who was shouting thank God for union bank d other day? they lost a whole N9.23 in one day. what happened? that is about all the profit they made earlier.
can the gurus shed light on this?
similar thing happened to AP when they made about N4 everyday for some days and then went back to lose it.
Any ideas?

@ easimoni, Wanaj0 and roughcut not neccessarily in that order
make una help me o! i dont know much about stock market but u have been lucky over d past yr and a half. lucky in the sense of:
bought uba @ 13 and sold @ 54
bought access @ 3 sold @ 19

before wemas bad news, i bout 9000 shares @ 10 and now it has gone up to 15 and it is on technical suspension. that is some 50% profit. however, i dont want to hold on to it b4 they sort themselves out cos it may take some 2 months. what i wan you guys to advice is what insurance company can i buy. i just wan to make some more profit. i bought 250k worth of fidelity like 2 months back and the price hasnt moved cos of the tech susp and po and now the extension of the po.

if i had used that money somewhere else, i probably would have made somne change.
which insurance or penny stcks can i buy.

pls dont say it is up to me.
any help will be appreciated.

Broses! I have 1mil that i am willing to tie down for 6 - 12 months. i hope to have started reaping something at the end of d 6 month period possibly selling some. i am talking really short term here. what do u think?

I am thinking Transcorp cos the price has gone less than half its peak and it i believe it is boumd to go up irrespective of what trouble they might be in. you cant chuck NITEL in the Bin can u?
also japuoil, fidelity and not so sure of what insurance companies.
kindly let me know what you think plus projected prices in a 6 month period.

do u have any penny-stocks in mind.
