Nice.

Legendher0, this is a fellow Yoruba man like us that calls it out as it is & isnt islamophobic or Igbo. It’s all all Yorubas that call out the ills of Islam that is Igbo. We have many Christians in Yorubaland that are not comfortable with the excesses of Islam.

As for the main story, they will sort it out themselves.

Bro you shouldn’t discuss what you don’t know. Most Nigerians are ignorant and they always think every country will be archaic as theirs.

In USA, there are several states where even police officers wear hijabs and several government establishments. Infact even in the house of representative you can wear your hijab.

Nike is a brand in USA and they are producing hijab which millions are wearing daily and it’s just plain ridiculous that Nigerians will be saying rubbish they don’t know.

If you reach the USA, right from the international airport where you’ll encounter the custom officials (ICE agents), we have several custom officials in hijab and even in private agencies like Fortune 500 companies people use hijab freely without intimidation.

I work in one of the Fortune 100 companies and there are several colleagues that come to work in mid size hijab especially Nike.

Even the restaurant in question already apologized to the woman so I don’t know why Nigerians Christians like to most time brother on things that dosen’t concern them.

Hijab is her right, in as much as they don’t make it compulsory for her to wear it against her will, she is free to wear hijab as she want.

Note: most of you Christians on here are showing more terrorism tendencies by not being tolerant and always finding a way to shoot Islam down at every instant. You are all becoming a menace and it will only be a short time before you all start picking up arms too like the Islamic jihadists.

Zlantan, Marley and are far better than Tekno, Zoro and Phyno because on any given day in UK , US , and Ghana this guys would sell out shows and concert even if they jam in Ibo land ibos would come watch the yoruba guys

The Igwe will even turnup to watch Nairamarley in the East. It will just be like Chris Brown in Lasgidi to them.

Even Obiano will be dancing soapy and all of the crowd will be singing in Yoruba coz they got no choice.

Oga as of 31st Lagos dry, road free die. I'm in Lagos.. If u think the igbos ain't neccesary in Lagos tell them artist to fix their concert 31st-5th.. Yoruba boys around me cannot remove 5k to pay for tickets not to talk of paying for their babes.. swallow the bitter truth.. from January 7th up Lagos will bubble as usual.

You are saying rubbish and you can tell that to Nnamdi Kanu and his brain dead disciples.

There are lot of concerts that sold out in Lagos this December and it will only be a fool that will say Lagos is dry.

This one even said the Yorubas can’t pay 5k for ticket lol, maybe ba your ancestors dey fill the venue when artist dey perform for Lagos.

Why should any reasonable person fix concert for January? How many concerts are holding in January in Nigeria compared to December?

We have marlian fest, Teni Billionaire experience, Flytime music festival, Bez Live -The light, Zlatan Live, 2Baba Live, Mayor of Lagos fest , etc. that went down in Lagos this December.

Can you mention 3 5star concert that took place in your state to start with?

Question: If you don’t call the Yoruba artists to perform in Igbo land who else will you call? Do you even have any A-List artist anymore? Oh Flavor, phyno and Tekno, don’t mention Psquare coz they are currently struggling.

That’s evident. Ever since Trump resumed we have seen a rise in the rate of denials even for master’s student that normally have an easy ride when they have some sort of university funding on their I-20.

The only set of people that have like 85% chances of visa are the Phd students.

People on B1/B2 visa are always denied like Peter everyday and one would but wonder the sins of Nigeria against the consulate.

Well a lot of Nigerians support Trump, when he finishes dealing with us, he will make sure Nigerians are kept out of the USA and that figure would have risen to 95% visa denial rate by 2024 if he gets re-elected.

That’s how me & my best friends (two of them Muslim) argue about interfaith relations in Yorubaland without engendering any enmity or illwill—because we all want what’s best for the motherland.

Agreed bro. Thanks and have a nice day.

I don’t like the way you’re talking at all. You’re trying to make it seem like I represent the whole Christians in the SW. There’s largely religious in Yorubaland & nothing except an occurrence of immense impact can change that for a long time. Just the way majority of Muslims in Yorubaland are not like prof. akintola is the same way most Christians don’t think like me. We are one people & we would stay that way as long as we protect our secularity & unity.

Alright I got you. But you should know our opinions online one way or the other is capable of inciting hatred among us.

For example, you blamed the Yoruba Muslims for voting Buhari which is plain wrong and you yourself already went against your earlier stance.

It’s good that you’re speaking up for what you believed in and I’m sure you have a justification for your fears. If not because of the atrocities committed by the Muslim north and some Arab countries, you wouldn’t be talking like this.

However my assertions is that you shouldn’t judge your fellow SW Muslims with the mirror of a Fulani or Arab man. Sometimes religion is a symptoms in the decay of morality among ethnic group. They just hide under religion to give their wickedness legitimacy.

It’s true. We might look & sound alarmist at times but it’s due to fear. We pray that Buhari’s 3 years passes without further incidence. In any event, if he wants to go all out against Christians like they did in Benue State & the middlebelt, it won’t be possible because the attention of the whole world is no him already so it will be hard to actually any bad plans he has for the country.

All is well with Nigeria.

Those Benue issh is more of ethnic clashes and it predates Buhari regime.

Infact during 2012 or so when Jonathan was the president, the Fulani clashes was more pronounced then and it will be absurd to attribute the origin to buhari alone.

You should know the north have a history of clashes they even predates the fourth republic. Why they chose to be like that is a mystery and many people argued it was because of Islamization. Well Na then know.

My own is just that nobody should bring the north craze to the SW either Muslim or Christians coz we shouldn’t be judged by what a Fulani did in Kano as Yorubas in the SW.

That is my argument

I have told you earlier that there’s nothing I can do about you doubting my yorubaness.

I guess to you & people think reason like you, Femi fani Kayode, & Ayo Fayose are not Yorubas.

We cannot all sleep and face the same direction now. I analyze politics in Nigeria & Yorubaland through personal lenses so you don’t need to be surprised if I don’t analyze things from your own point of view.

On the issue of the people of ibadan, they are a testament to the fact that Yorubaland is still very united & remains one irrespective of any religious differences.

Tinubu is a Muslim but he’s my leader as a Yoruba man. We don’t have any other leader for now so all these your doubts are unfounded. On the RCCG, I can tell you that they are gnashing their teeth in private now seeing how Prof. Osinbajo has been demystified by tht cabal. Nobody is happy with the current state of things. We all thought that being a man of God, Osinbajo will act as a check on Buhari’s islamofascist tendencies but we have been proved wrong. It’s just too late to complain when the head is off.

On the whole, we are still the yoruba race our forefathers bequeathed to us & we have to guard our unity jealously from the craziness of Nigeria.

Oh when you knew all this that there ain’t any religious divide in the SW why did you mentioned it in the first place regarding Buhari.

Also let me take you on, how exactly has Buhari islamize Nigeria? What is different in way we practice religion in the South between 1999 and now?

What most of you term as Islamization is Northernization. Buhari is an ethnic crusader rather than Islamic. Although they can go hand in hand because the Northerners are majorly Muslims which explained why most of you are mistaking it for Islamization.

Christians in the south are starting to be paranoid too much and most of you guys are alarmists.

Majority Muslims in Yorubaland support Buhari inspite of his tyranny. That’s enough evidence.

On the issue of MURIC giving an order for severance of ties with Christians & moving to the north, I can tell you personally that it won’t be so detrimental to Christians but it may be jarring to them. The practicality of it is suspect though.

As for Jehovah’ witnesses & Christians that preach about, I support you to be harsh on them because even we Christians don’t like how meddlesome they are but we can’t assault them due to that.

About my steady radicalization, it’s borne out of the need for survival amid encroaching Islamic occupation all around the world. Don’t you wonder why right wing parties & politicians are winning in the West— i.e Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Viktor Orban etc? It’s the fear of Islamic terrorists.

As for preserving our unity in Yorubaland, it is the duty of all to ensure & uphold our secularity. No religion should seek to undermine the Constitution of Nigeria through the inclusion of Sharia law etc.Same goes for any religion charter we have in Yorubaland.

We need to act as checks to any usurpation by one religion of another.

@the bolded, I’ve told you in another thread that the redeemed Christian church is the major support Buhari had in 2015 and Adeboye openly supported Buhari.

Does that make Adeboye a Muslim ? Or are the redeemed guys now muslims?

So in your assertions, you mean those Christian that voted for Atiku against Buhari are doing so because Atiku is a Christian? Haba brother

Oyo state have majority Muslim populations and they voted against Buhari in 2019, does that mean the Christians alone voted against him?

The more you talk, the more I doubt your yorubaness.

When I was young, my dad always force us to perform solat (Irun). He will wake us up as early as 5:30am everyday and rather than we performing the solat willingly, that action made us hate solat more coz to us he is trying to force us against our will.

When he knew that action is not working he left us to our fate and told us we will start doing solat 5times daily on our own when we know it’s benefit ourselves.

Now no one tells me when to do solat coz it’s now part of me. I started praying daily on my own accord. Same can be said for my brothers. I only stopped doing solat that much when I traveled out coz the nature of work is not encouraging and mosque is very far from where I live.

The same cannot be said of public schools that are secular in their funding & enabling statutes.

Let me ask you a question:

What is the function of a university? Even the faith based schools, what is their core objectives?

To convert an adherent to the Christian Faith or to build scholars and professionals?

OMG, you don’t understand me at all ooo. I know you’re referring to the Igbos but you might not know that I feel the same way you feel about them. We are all the same to the Igbos, whether Muslim or Christian—they feel we are betrayers who collude with the Hausas to kill & subjugate then. I know how they feel & I understand.

As for whether I want to align with them, I ask you:why do you think it’s wrong for Christians of Yoruba origin to feel safe & at times align with them while it is right for our Muslim brothers to align & always support the Muslim north even if the Hausas kill our leaders every time & destroy the objectives of the south for a better Nigeria? You see that there’s double standards there?

As for whether I am a traitor to the Yoruba cause, there’s nothing further from the truth because I love my tribe more than anything else & I would like to come back to life as a Yoruba man if I have that opportunity. What we need to do as a race/people is to uphold our secularity & allow everyone practice his faith with freedom. That is what has taken us this far & if we allow extremists to permeate our unity, we may never survive the repercussions. As corrupt as Tinubu is, what you cannot accuse him of is being a bigot. The man doesn’t care about your religion as long as you’re a Yoruba man & that is what a true leader should be made of. But you see people like Aregbesola & prof Akintola should be ignored & left at the fringes of our society because they are the agents of division that millions of Christians secretly fear.

Kosi wahala my brother.

@the first bolded, Can you give an example of where the Muslim yorubas support the north when they killed our leaders? I’m willing to learn.

@the second bolded, you are gradually becoming like MURIC and Aregbesola in your thinking and the only differences between both of you is that you’re still not popular across Nigeria or held any political post.

If MURIC calls on Muslims today that all Yoruba Muslims should severe ties with the Christians and move to live in the North, what will be your reaction?

Also note that the Yorubas have always been christainised right from the onset just that we muslims are not alarmists. Let me give just 3 cases.

I attended a private secular primary school owned by a a Muslim proprietress and our morning assembly songs are always Christian songs. Infact that is the standard for most secular primaries schools even government owned school where we sing Christian songs on assembly ground except fridays.

In my secondary school, the same thing happened and they don’t care whether you’re Christian or Muslim before we sing from our SOP (song of praise) book. No parent care about that since we don’t reek in bigotry.

In my university days as an undergrad, the jehovah witness guys always knock on my door and preach Christianity to me, even if you tell them you are Muslims they don’t care. They will always try to preach and change your ideology. If Muslims have been knocking Christians doors the whole media space would have been shouting shariah shariah.

Some Christians in the SW are starting to behave like bigots and I think we should all thread with caution coz if we destroy the peace among us now, our ancestors and upcoming generations will never forgive us.

My brother, you have largely spoken well. Agba yin a dale. But me saying that Christians of Yoruba origin can & should seek refuge in the south south or south east in the event of Islamic aggression can hardly be construed to be swearing allegiance to other tribes. Necessity is the father of invention & self preservation is a time worn human principle. If there’s a Sharia onslaught on Yorubaland, I think it will only be normal for a Christian who has lived in freedom all his life to flee such environment—that doesn’t mean he has disconnected himself from his roots or sworn allegiance to another tribe.

I think you do not understand the impact of years of media portrayal of Islam as a violent religion. This islamophobic hysteria is further reinforced by the tendency of Muslims to force their way of life on others even when they are in the minority. Despite the liberal nature of Muslims in Yorubaland, you can never rule out the possibility of extremism because that is what Islam is built upon.

So my brother, if some of us fear Islam, it doesn’t mean we hate you. We are just always apprehensive of the next Muslim to be radicalized & unleashed on non Muslims.

I don’t have time to hate but I watch my environment & society with a keen eye.

I understand what you’re saying and you are somehow right in your assertions. You’re just trying to protect your religion in the advent of radicalism.

However most of you don’t understand how things work. If the Yoruba Muslims have said in their majority that they want a shariah law, do you think the Christians can oppose it? Do you think if the likes of the Tinubus, Fashola’s, Ajimobis, Aregbesolas, the imams, all muslims in Yorubaland, etc want a shariah law, you think you can stop it without calling for chaos?

Also look at it like this, even the Tinubus, Ajimobis, and a host of others have Christian wives and that should tell you that religious fanaticism is not something that can prosper in Yorubaland.

Remeber shariah law is always strictly for the Muslims, which means if the Muslims had wanted it in their majority they can find a loophole in the law to create some form of Islamic court among their faithfuls even in the SW. The Adeleke university just did thesame thing, establish a university and make it compulsory for any religious divide to attend church and they call it university law. Isn’t that what all of you are celebrating now?? It can also be termed Christian shariah right?

However It’s good to know that we SW Muslims ourselves deny shariah in any form in our majority. Even inside the mosque we will not condone the mention or passing of any shariah nonesense. That should be restricted to the north where they allow all sort of barbaric religious nonesense all because of upholding one Saudi archaic law. Even Saudi is modifying its laws.

I have never said anything about Christians & Muslims fighting in Yorubaland. Why should I do that? I have told you countless times that my best friends are Muslims & I have been living with Muslims all my life.

With regards to Yoruba Christians moving further south, yes I made that comment in light of the recent aggression & fervor for Sharia by our Muslim brothers because I know that living in a Sharia zone is always hellish for any Christian. If & when Christians of Yoruba origin are under the yoke of killings & subjugation, what stops them from migrating to the south east or south south where they will be protected & allowed to live their lives? What we all want for Yorubaland is the enthronement of secularity which our forefathers bequeathed to us. The signs we see from our Muslim brothers is not encouraging & further reinforces our fear of that religion so we are all allowe to look for safety/refuge wherever that may be.

How all these makes me a bigot is what I don’t understand. Can’t you live & let live?

Bro what Shariah are you taking about? Because of what someone without influence like Prof Akintola of MURIC said?

Even the Yoruba Muslims ourselves will be the ones to deny the shariah laws right from the mosque. It’s plain absurd for anyone to think the Yorubas will succumb to an archaic law where my hands will be cut off. (Olorun maje)

Let me educate you, islam got to Yoruba land as far back as the 16th century even before Christianity. Some of the Yoruba words are even Islamic such that even Christians among us use the words. If shariah law hasn’t been implemented all this centuries ago, then why now in this age and time?

Even Ilorin with its population of Yoruba Muslims do not have shariah law in effect why then will it be the core Southwest state where we have almost 50/50 adherents of both faith.

You used the MURIC excuse to propel your own bigotry and i’m ust lost for words that a Yoruba man will opine the Christians to swear allegiance to another ethnic group just because of religious differences.

The ability for Christians and Muslims to coexist without any animosity should be a thing of pride for the Yorubas. We have solved almost 90% of the problem the rest of the worlds were not able to solve.

In Yorubaland Muslims eat Christmas chicken while Christian eat Ileya Ram. That should be a thing of pride coz it should be Yoruba first before religion.
