Treasureprince1:I always put you and others in my prayers bro. I also put myself as well...the journey continues for us all. I still have to file i751 and N400 in the future. Those are also a lengthy and strenuous process. But God is on the throne. I strongly believe this Trumpist visa policy will be voided soon. Keep faith bro. God's Grace. |
Sukey:I don't think I frontloaded in the strict sense of it. But maybe I did frontload a little. The thing is....I made sure I provided evidential documents to support everything I filled in the form i485. For instance, I included a copy both my DS3025 and my vaccination card to serve as evidence that I did my medical examination in Nigeria and hence don't need to do any medicals here in the States or fill any form i693. Make sure to do a cover letter that will summarize and explain all the documents you are attaching to your application. This will make the job a lot easier for the adjudicating officer. It took 5 months to get my EAD and AP. |
SmartKitty:Still waiting for the daytime video . |
I have gotten my greencard guys. I give God all the praise. It took 8 months to get my greencard. I had thought it'll take more than a year going by the history of approvals for Dallas, Texas. The documents I submitted for greencard application were: filled i485 form, certified marriage certificate, birth certificate, NPC Attestation of Birth, NOAs received for i129F, Fiancee Visa, Data Page of International Passport, i94, Marriage Pictures, Joint Bank Account, Life Insurance, Copy of DS3025, copy of immunization card, Evidence of Residence, my wife's evidence of US citizenship, my wife's tax returns, my wife's paystubs, my wife's W2s, my wife's employment letter, etc. I didn't get any RFEs. Got the interview notice after 7 months. The interview notice is usually given a month before the scheduled date.. and my wife went for the interview. We went with a copy of all the documents we had submitted earlier. We also went with new pictures and new tax documents. The interview was very fast. We were even called in before the time. Was asked questions on dates. Was also asked on how we met. Was a very informal interview...lots of jokes and chats. He told us he will approve our petition. I got my greencard 6 days after. |
Congrats to all those who were successful in their interviews. I pray we all get more good news. Oh I forgot to update the thread with the latest regarding my journey. Will do so in my next post. |
SmartKitty:Okay waiting for the daytime video. What's the name of the road you took that video from? |
SmartKitty:Prove it. Take pictures of campaign posters in your area and post here. At least that'll prove you are currently in the States as you claim. |
Beautyaddy:I try to point out his misleads. Besides that, I just ignore. |
SmartKitty:The bolded is a big lie. The US immigration policy is not reduce or stop immigration. Even Trump himself does not want to stop immigration in it's entirety. He is leaning towards the Canadian immigration policy. And secondly, the democrats are not against chain immigration, anchor babies and others. Only Trump. The democrats as well as the moderate republicans know that America is a land of immigrants. So I'm almost confident that all these Trumpist policies will be squashed soon. Finally, the truth is that Trump is not against immigration in general. He is not against Europeans seeking to immigrate to the US, he is just against people from poor countries coming to the States. He thinks that immigrants from rich countries will make America rich and immigrants from poor countries will make America poor. Thats a shallow thinking. The truth is that Immigrants from poor countries have contributed immensely to the American economy than thise from rich countries. |

dicsnemma:Yes you can go pick up your passport and medical parcel. It has been picked up by DHL so it's ready for collection. You can go with a photocopy of your datapage. You may also need to show them the email you got. |
@frypuffpuff I'm so sorry for the denial. I think the reason you were denied is because they don't believe your relationship with your fiance is genuine. It has nothing to do with your profession. If they feel that a relationship is not genuine, then their conclusion is that you are simply coming over to the States to get a job...which is why you got that section 212(a)(5)(A). Also there's nothing wrong with meeting your fiance when she is still legally married. However the requirement is that you must also meet your fiancee when she is legally single (divorced) within two years before she files the i129f petition. If you guys didnt meet again after she finalized her divorce papers, then that's a ground for denial. What the section 212(a)(5)(A) simply means is that you are not eligible for the fiance visa and since you intend working in the US, they cannot allow you to go to the US because you will deprive US Citizens of jobs. Note howevrr that even if you say you don't intend to work in the US, they will look for another reason. |
sandraigho:You can always send ustraveldocs guys a mail or call them to change it. Even if you can't change it, there's no problem. The new passport will have the old passport number in addition to the new number, so the embassy will see the link between the two passports. |
sandraigho:Go ahead and schedule a date. Don't wait until you renew your passport before you schedule a date. And you can start the process of renewal before February 1st. A trustworthy and experienced Agent can help start the process. He can start the process now but conclude it on or after February 1st. |
@Glorioussugar So sorry for the denial. Did you get the spinsterhood certificate? And did your fiance submit it in the initial petition to USCIS? Also did you guys submit the Letter of Intent to Marry in the original Petition to USCIS? Beautyaddy:This is also a very important question. Beautyaddy:Yeah that response is strange. It suggests you either just want to get married to get papers OR you truthfully just want to be a housewife in the US. The latter maybe difficult to believe but if that's the truth then it's fine. |
sharpman1:Happy New Year Oga Sharpman1. 2020 is the year of many achievements. God is in charge. |
kunlelikeme:Congrats bro. Welcome to the States |
sharpman1:Congrats. So now the hustle begins...lol. |
Innobeem:If that's the truth. Then that's fine. But if not, the CO can find out. Nowadays the timeline for getting USCIS approval for both Fiancee and Spousal Petition is similar, so that excuse may not fly for some COs.....especially if he or she feels you are not sincere. |
SmartKitty:That's your view. They can have the "Nigerian wedding" in the States. I've attended several "Nigerian weddings" here in the United States and the full tradition was observed during the wedding. So you are not making any sense there. |
Coquinoqui:Just tell them the truth. Only you and your fiance know the reason. |
SmartKitty:That's not true. How do you know he or she does not value the American fiance(e)? |
Drenimarcus:Wow, awesome. That's great. All the very best. |
Drenimarcus:Like I said, the best response to that question is the truth. If these responses posted by a vj member is the truth for Disguy1, then he can provide it as his answer if asked. However if its not, the CO might find out he's lying and that could affect his approval. The CO' s are experts at probing if they suspect sth fishy. For instance, if they suspect you said sth that's not true, they can probe further by asking leading questions. The first option given by the vj member is to "test waters". The CO might ask why are you testing waters if you truly love her. They might also ask why don't she come to Nigeria to "test waters" since its much easier for her to come to Nigeria (since she is both Nigerian and American) than for you to go to America. Options 2, 3 and 4 doesnt apply to you since you are a guy. But even if you want to reverse it, they can still probe further by asking why. For instance, if you say you want her family in the States to get to know you, they will ask why not she also come to Nigeria to get to know your family....you get my drift? Concerning frypuffpuff's suggestion, they can ask why don't she first come to Nigeria to meet your parents? They know the Nigerian customs and know that our customs value both parents of the bride and groom. They know that your parents are meant to see the bride and give their blessings as well. So they can probe along that line. So, like I said earlier, there is no standard answer to that question. The only standard answer is the truth and nothing but the truth. If the truth is that you feel america is the best place for you and your future wife because it has a better economy than Nigeria or better security than Nigeria. Then go-ahead and say it. If the truth is that you also want to study in the US after marriage then say it. As long as you truly love your fiance, you are fine, the CO can't come in between your love for her. They can't deny two love birds coming together to get married. But if you don't love her, then.....I have nothing to say :-x. I trust you do love her. |
disguy1:If that's the truth then it's adequate. Theres nothing wrong with not trying to disrupt your fiance's family's schedule or sth. But if it's not the reuth, then tell them the truth. As long as the love you have for each other is legit then you have nothing to be worried about. There is no one standard response to that question. |
Drenimarcus:Congrats Bros. Hopefully you'll get your greencard soon as well. Also waiting for mine although I know Texas takes a long time. There are lots of job in the States at the moment, thanks to Trump. So you'll get one very soon....By God's Grace. If You were staying close to me, I'd have recommended you to my boss. He is begging me everyday for recommendation of people to work for the company. Firewood jollof rice dey hungry me too O...lol. Hopefully there will be a get together in the future. |
sharpman1:lol. Work has been tight of late. |
DankbaresHerz:Congrats. There's someone who can help with relevant info: @kunlelikeme. He is based in Germany. All the best. |
zada:I don't understand you. You made two statements that are contradicting each other. You said the CO did not indicate to bring additional documents but then said that one of the white paper given to you by the CO was for joint sponsor. I'm also confused as to why you are using a lawyer. Please clarify...and maybe I can profer some advice. |
Treasureprince1:I think the Embassy will accept this. So you need not worry about your K1 Visa interview. But I don't think USCIS will accept this when you get to the US. So I advice you take this document to NPC Surulere and clarify from them. Make sure You do this before You travel to the US. |
Sukey:Congrats Sukey. Welcome to the States. I advice you go to SSA and get your Social Security Number. You'll need your international passport, i94, birth certificate and passport photo (not sure) for this. You can also open a joint account with your fiancee. Some banks allow creation of account without SSN. Also you can go to the Courts/Registry to make enquiries about requirements for Court Wedsing and then get married . All these can be done independently of each other. For drivers license, however, you'll need your SSN. I recommend that you start looking up the requirements for your State. For each State has slightly different requirements for obtaining drivers licnse. |
