Where I schedule an appointment is different from this page as I can't see that section for scheduling an appointment. No you are getting it all wrong. Fill a new DS160 form. Don't retrieve any old application. After submitting a newly filled DS160 form, you'll get a new confirmation number. That's the number you will then use to schedule an appointment. So my advice is for you to first go and fill a brand new DS160 form. Let me know when you are done.

Thanks for the response below, In answer No I haven't filled the DS 160 form. What I did yesterday was just getting an appointment date using the existing profile I had there back in 2018 when I applied for B1/B2.

Oh no, you need to first fill in your DS160 form and then you schedule an appointment.

What I suggest you do is this: Don't cancel the appointment date yet (because if you do, you might not get a December date anymore). Fill the DS160 form and submit to get your confirmation number. Then send a mail to ustraveldocs telling them of your issue. Hopefully they might resolve it. However if they don't, it means you will have to cancel the scheduled appointment and try to schedule an appointment all over again. You won't pay any extra visa fees (You are allowed reschedule once at no cost) but you might not get a near date.

If I may ask, did you track your casefile using the Ceac website? What did it say?

If I understand your question I don't think it's an issue. The email you sent to the Embassy is just to confirm that they have your casefile.

My question though is this: Have you filled the DS160 form for the K1 Visa? If you did, does the confirmation number on the printout match the number on the appointment confirmation printout? Your response will determine my answer to your questions.

If the police certificate you get shows a validity of 1 year then it's a fake! Police Character Certificate has a validity of 3 months. And make sure you go to Alagbon to get it done.

When she applied for citizenship, my middle name used was Babatunde.

On my birth certificate is Babatunde, every other document like Marriage cert, Intl passport is Tunde as middle name.

What name (Babatunde or Tunde) should she use to file or is there any other measure to be taken to remedy any conflict that might lead to delay as a result of the discrepancies in middle name??

The most important question is this: what's your present middle name? Or which middle name do you want to maintain using?

Your answer will determine your next line of action. If you choose Tunde, then you will need to get a new birth certificate. If you choose Babatunde, then you will need to change the other documents or swear an affidavit to that effect.

There's no requirement that states the number of pictures to add. Just make sure you add enough relevant photos. Note that They will value relevance over number, quality over quantity.

Disregard whether its Packet 3 or 4. The most important thing is that the Embassy has given you guys the go ahead to schedule (which you guys have done).

Police Clearance is done in Alagbon. People from outside Lagos can go to the nearby police office and request for it, that police office will liaise with Alagbon to get it done. However I advice you guys go to Alagbon and do it yourself to prevent getting a fake document. Since the interview is done in Lagos (even the medical test is either done in Abuja and Lagos only), its better to come to Lagos 2/3 days before the interview and get the Certificate or if you are worried that it is too close to the interview date, liaise with someone you know in Lagos to do it for you at Alagbon.

I honestly don't know why the K1 dates is different from the B1/B2 dates. The Embassy knows. Perhaps for logistic reasons.

Is there any November or December date? If there is, I advice you choose it immediately. It's better to go for a november or december (or even January or February!) interview than to be disqualified and not be able to go at all for any interview.

You will need to go with your International Passport and the print-out of your I-94 Form.

I don't think you will be affected. USCIS and the Embassies has to come up with a policy document based on this executive declaration from the White House.

I don't even know how USCIS and the Embassies will implement this new requirement. The requirement only says the immigrant should be insured within 30 days of entry into the States. It didn't say the insurance should be gotten before entry. So I wonder how USCIS and the Embassies can enforce this. Perhaps they will require a written commitment from the Petitioner that he/she will purchase an insurance plan for his/her fiancee within 30 days on entry or they might increase the Public Charge requirements (eg increase the % Federal Poverty Salary requirement from 125% to 250%). Lets watch and see. But personally I think the original Public Charge rule by USCIS should automatically take care of this new insurance requirement. I don't know why they want to enforce Public Charge rule and then come up with another rule on insurance. It's unnecessary if you ask me. Anyone who meets the Public Charge rrquirement should naturally be able to take care of his/her beneficiary's healthcare cost.

But one thing I know for sure is that this policy, if it comes into force, will affect anyone seeking visa for permanent entry into the States, be it fiancee visa or immigrant visa.

Nah bro,I think you have the wrong info.im not so sure but you should look up the info on the uscis website,60k is a lot of money to be the minimum requirement,I think it’s 18-20k or so for most states,the new health insurance Jazz that’s about to be passed is the one most likely to require a lot of money,but look it up on their website like I said.

Exactly my thought. I just checked online and I saw that the minimum requirement for i864 (affidavit of support) is 21,137. That amount is 125% of federal poverty level for a household of 2.

I also think the amount is much less for i134 compared to i864. I think i134 is 100% while i864 is 125%.

For German Embassy, the instruction (based on the document from the link you provided) is to wait till you get a go ahead to schedule an interview date. They requested you first submit some documents (passport photos, birth certificate, police certificate, affidavit of support, etc) to them via courier after which they will get back to you to go ahead and schedule an interview date.

Once you schedule a date, you can then schedule your medical appointment such that it's 2 to 3 weeks before the interview date.

Hopefully you'll be able to complete this process and schedule a date before mid November. But if the expiry date is fast approaching and youve not been able to schedule, then you can do an email to them to extend the expiry date. They normally extend the expiry date automatically if its not the applicant's fault but its better to do an email to them as well.

What you can do pending is to get your documents ready. I recommend you wait till you schedule an interview date before you get your police certificate and medical report.

@legitbachelor. How long did it take to get your social security number. Mine has taken like 6weeks. They said it's not cleared from DHS. Do u have any tips or tots about this.

Mine took less than 2 weeks.

Did you wait for 2 weeks after arrival into the States before going to the SSA to get your socials? It's advisable to wait for 2 to 3 weeks before applying for SSN. I am guessing its taking this long because they are opting for manual verification of your details with HHS. I also learnt that its better not to do manual verification. I heard its better to tell them not to do the manual check and for you to come back after a week and recheck again.

My advice is that you wait it out as there's nothing you can do. However you can request for yoir SSN in your EAD application

@Anjiee, send an email to ustraveldoc and explain your situation. Hopefully they will be able to change your passport number. Perhaps they will change it directly or tell you to fill a new form DS160 and then they will change the confirmation number for you.

But if they cant resolve it, then it means you have to cough out another 265 dollars and then scheduke another appointment. But God forbid. I'm positive the ustraveldocs guys can resolve this.

@Scsogbesan, in addition to what Sukey said, make sure you still have access to that email.

If you don't, then make your case with ustraveldoc so that they will change the email address for you. You'll have to tell them the whole truth.
