PoliticsWho Is Next- Jonathan Or Patience by lekanolas(op): 7:54am On Jan 12, 2012
I am not a prophet of doom .Do you think it is a mere coincidence that we have lost the wife of a serving president (Stella obasanjo) and a serving president(Yar'Adua) since we began this democratic process in 1999. With the current situation in the country now, we need to pray vehemently that nothing bad happens to Jonathan or his wife considering the fact that many people are not happy with the president's actions.
PoliticsRe: How Can You Compare Telecommunication With Fuel Subsidy Removal by lekanolas: 12:02pm On Jan 08, 2012
No! Is like comparing light and darkness. When they were selling sim cards for N40,000, did it affect the price of other goods and services? Again, despite the fact that sim cards are almost free today, not all Nigerians own one. We all make use of PMS one way or the other.
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal: President Goodluck Jonathan's Speech by lekanolas: 11:18pm On Jan 07, 2012
Jonathan should have gone further to tell Nigerians  the salaries of FEC members now after deducting the 25%. We need actual figures

so why are luxurious buses increasing their fare? They use diesel which has deregulated 6years ago!

Would they buy  goods and services from the same market like others. Where do you expect them to make money to off-set the extra expenditure as a result of the increase in PMS.

Are u surprised? He is doing the bidding of his master just like Reuben Abati. Read Abati's comments on the removal of subsidy two years ago.

PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy: Nbc Trying To Censor Radio & Tv Stations In Nigeria? by lekanolas: 12:03pm On Jan 05, 2012
Not only has government warned broadcast stations over comments on the subsidy removal, government has even taken it further. it has bought over some respected broadcast stations. Did you watch Channel TV's Sunrise Daily this morning. Chamberlin had to stop Dr. Femi Adebulu when his reactions to questions were becoming too critical of government. Meanwhile, Dr. Shamsideen Usman (Minister for National Planning) was given enough time to express the government's views, even when he dodged some of the questions asked. You won't blame the stations; they need government patronage to survive. Have you forgotten that Next newspaper went under because the government mandated its cronies and all MDAs to shun the paper. Do you think Channels was just repeating the Town Hall meeting in Lagos for free? The station got a lot of money from government to continue to air the debate.

Are you surprised? What do you expect when an area boy becomes a godfather in politics. M.C Oluomo with the support of Oju yobo (Tinubu) imposed Ariyo on ACN in Oshodi. And because people didn't come out to vote on October 22, Ariyo had a smooth ride winning the election. You aren't see nothing yet, expect more of this in the coming days.

Honestly, it is sad that such a good paper has gone under. That paper wrote the best editorial commentry in Nigeria. It ventured into areas where angels feared to tread in the course of its stay in the Nigerian market. The paper strove to report news as they were no matter whose ox is gored. Contrary to some of the points raised here, I think the paper failed because of its stance to provide news and informed opinions fairly and accurately, uninfluenced by money, political or other affiliations.
The paper’s stance affected advert placements as the salutatory advertisements heaping praises on politicians and Nigeria’s elite that fill other publications never made it into its editions.
The paper and its publisher, Dele Olojede have continued to win awards from within and outside the shores of the country. Last year, Olojede was ranked The 66th Most Creative Person in Business worldwide by the Fast Company magazine. He also won The Ethics in Business Award at the World Forum for Ethics and Business in Belgium. Few days after stopping the printing his paper, he was announced as the winner of the fourth annual John P. McNulty Prize. A committee of judges including Madeline Albright, Olara Otunnu, Shashi Tharoor and Anne McNulty selected Olojede in recognition of his ground breaking work to deliver unbiased information to the Nigerian public, demand government transparency and advance journalistic standards in the country. The jury was inspired by his courage and conviction in forging new ground, and leading his country toward a better future. The prize money for the Award is $100.000.
Thank God the paper is still available online. I pray NEXT bounces back in print
PoliticsAl-mustapha Trial Continues Today by lekanolas(op): 7:33am On Nov 10, 2011
The trial of Maj. Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, for the murder of Kudirat Abiola, wife of the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief MKO Abiola, continues this morning at a Lagos High Court,Igbosere.
Al-Mustapha and his co-accused, Lateef Shofolahan, were charged 13 years ago with conspiracy and murder of Kudirat. They closed their defence on August 17 following which Justice Mojisola Dada adjourned till today for adoption of written addresses.
It is likely the judge will announce a final judgment date today as both the prosecution and defence counsel had exchanged all necessary written addresses. .

I am sure the person who started the discussion is not a Muslim, He is only expressing his opinion about the fees in these schools. Even if he is a Muslim, that does not mean he is speaking the minds of others Muslims.  The fees to me are not on the higher side considering the fact that it includes accommodation and feeding.
